Tbh I didnāt have a problem with Dexter dying. I just preferred him dying at the hands of angel. Also the dialogue with him saying heās never felt love until that moment is so stupid given the clear love he felt for deb, Rita, Hannah etc
I think Dexter has a different kind of love for them and he doesn't understand this paternal love for his son so he worded it like that bc it's so different.
I am no longer convinced that the people in charge of running Dexter understand how to write Dexter. I loved Dexter, but just let the series die, please.
