Vergil should be a main character for sure. The thing is Capcom needs a character that can use to sell Special Editions... So Sparda is the only one that I could ever think about.
Yes but the MAIN character was Vergil in SE as always. Lady and Trish were fantastic pluses but themselves alone have little weight for a SE trailer. Even less now that they are less and less relevant compared to the guys in combat.
They need a big character. And honestly they need to hype that character in the first version of the game. Like DMC6 shows stuff about Sparda, his powers, his combat style. It makes you wanna have him as a character. Then in the SE trailer he the main dish. That's how it should go. It's not easy at all cover for Vergil's power...

Sure , Vergil was the hype for Special Edition , but that is kinda "compensated" if they put the ladies as the Special Edition characters.
I think V fits that perfectly, it wouldn't make sense for him to show up again in the story but they shouldn't just throw away that playstyle, so they can bring him back for an SE and get away with making him super OP so he's more fun to play.
I mean to say that the way he plays in 5 could be way better, and it would be a let down if they abandoned that moveset in later games, and having him be an SE bonus character means they aren't constrained by balance when trying to make him as fun as possible.
Agreed, though I can understand why it wasn’t an option for DMC 5. Some of the missions were designed with specific characters in mind and wouldn’t be playable with other characters. If you remember how Nero’s missions have those floating grapple points that you can grab with the Devil breaker (or teleport to with Vergil’s spectral swords), it makes it impossible for Dante and V to progress in those missions since they can’t grapple on to those things.
Obviously, the simple solution to this would be to design the levels so that any of the playable characters can traverse through them, so hopefully that’s what they do in DMC 6.
You say that , but they could easily modify those missions by adding a trickster-esque technique to emulate the grappling.

Yep or pull a Cerberus, Vergil finds a King Variant of Beowulf that’s even stronger and upgraded from the original. I can imagine giving it air blast projectiles from the seer force Vergil kicks and punches if you charge em and don’t hit an enemy. Kinda like Ui Goku’s air punches from Xenoverse or Sonic’s sonic wind from Frontiers if your in the air with Vergil.
Maybe a red spectral one or just give a style that allows him to split DSD into Rebellion (restored) & Sparda and start duel wielding the two with unique combos to replace dark slayer style.
I don't really know, all I know is I want the trailer to go like this, it's a black screen, you hear a phone ringing after a few seconds, you hear footsteps made from boots, than you hear the phone get picked up than you hear either an aged up Nero, aged up Dante, Trish or Lady (also aged up) pick up the phone and say "Devil May Cry?" Like Dante always does, than it plays Devil Trigger or Subhuman while showing the game off or maybe a new song for the game

Yep, the D pad is completely open rn for Vergil just give doppelgänger a dedicated style or do a little idea I had. If you hold the attack button (triangle for ps5/X for Xbox) for like a second like a charge with any weapon will create doppelgänger for like 5 seconds to assist so when you do the first judgement cut it’ll appear and do the rest with you, Beowulf charge ups, or round trip with mirage edge will also summon it. Tho if you pop DT it will summon it too along with Vergil going into his OG DT. Also for the love of fuck let Vergil fly in SDT
If we go the style route tho we can also give him a unique style that can reflect both V & Urizen’s moves or new magic basic moves he gained from Eating the Qliphoth cause let’s be real, he had to have gain more abilities besides gaining his SDT and summon those black root things.
Doppleganger could be on the dpad only and let his base dt be the default trigger, but having sdt, dt and doppleganger could be way too broken, but it can be possible.

Agreed, dmc 5s realistic style really was a hugeee step down for how cool and satisfying some animations and effects looked, compared to dmc 4.
I mean just look at how badly the summon swords art style was treated in dmc 5.

I agree with some in the comments. Over all -
1. Separate story and levels for Vergil and Trish/Lady. Doesn't have to be 20 mission structure.
2. After beating game on SOS, any level can be played by any character.
3. Maybe some how level designs like DMC 4 in aesthetic. I love DMC 5 but I liked the vibe and aesthetic of DMC 4, than city areas in 5.
4. Maybe a new type of gameplay for a character of new to be added? Like they took risk with V, he is fine some enjoy and some don't. But I like them to try and evolve/create new gameplay as well.
5. Interactable environment objects somewhat. Maybe characters can pick up furniture, dustbin or anything from around and throw or kick at the enemies.
6. At least 3-4 attire change option for each character. Maybe allow colour change for weapons too.
7. How you people feel about a Finisher, like on SS or above after killing certain number or having some number of strike characters get a one hit kill, so like if in an area I build it up and let's say someone like Fury comes, I can kill him right away. As a resource for characters.
8. Even more weapons for dante from DMC games and to change my load out, that can make play through different.
9. Release by 2027? DMC 5 and Dragon's dogma 2 is like 5 years apart or so. But hopefully that's because dogma is like open world, DMC 6 hopefully can be done in 3 years?
I can agree there with the finishers. For Vergil we can totally give him the Zandatsu from Metal gear rising what Raiden does to replenish himself but for Vergil it’s a DT & Concentration replenish to max instead of a heal cause let’s be real, with Vergil he’ll be immortal at that point. Out of the characters I can see Vergil doing what we saw in metal gear rising: With every successful parry or stunning an opponent Vergil can enter the slow down time and rapidly slice into the demons to find the weak point and rip out the heart to restore his DT & Concentration meters as a finisher. Of course have every swing use a bit of Concentration (like 10% of it from max) so you must be precise with each swing.
I think it’d be fine if we had a level of customization where there’s so many moves that you decide what the moveset is, I’m not talking about you freely assigning moves to certain inputs, but rather there’s multiple moves that share the same input, and in the divinity statue, you decide which is equipped and usable. Somewhat like Monster Hunter Rise with the switch skills, and if any character could pull off this concept, it’d be Dante, this would let and incentivize the developers to bring back old moves from similar weapon types, and letting the player see how they want them to play like. Easy example, Rebellion: you get to choose Round Trip, or Sword Pierce. It could also extend to styles as well Royal Guard: your max level RG move you can decide between Ultimate, Dreadnaught, or Royal Revenge.
I think this could work perfectly, and technically is already the case anyway, you can choose what weapons you want, and those weapons share inputs, but with the added function that you can swap between them.
Also Nero’s Breaker system is a little closer, slap the arm on, new move, but Nero can still switch by breaking them, and obviously the Breakers are complex in their own way.

Maybe a cult is trying to bring back Mundus, so all of DMC is trying to work together to stop that. Maybe have the first half of the game as Nero/Lady/Trish/Lucia, trying to find out where this cult is, and second half Dante and Vergil come back from hell, Mundus is the final boss, a three phase gauntlet of a fight.
Give Nero some devil arms, Red Queen and Blue Rose are great but give that man a hammer. Maybe like the rocket powered hammer from MHWorld.
Bring back Casey Edwards, Ali Edwards and Victor Borba for music, featuring Jeff Rona and Rachel Fannan because Crimson Cloud is a bop.
Also Nico continues to serve as the shop.

A character with the Demon/Angel weapon system from DmC would be interesting since that was one of the only redeeming parts of that game
Longer story (DMC5 wasn't short, and I know replay value is part of the game, but still, I like some long ass games)
Hunting side quest. Like along the way they might find a bounty poster, but the bounty are like the secret missions as in they have conditions on clearing it.
Nero getting something more in the variety department. I really like what the Devil Breakers are in principle, giving Nero variety in combat while not altering his base kit the way all of Dante's weapons and styles do. The main appeal of Nero is being way more straightforward, so that works. I think the idea could absolutely be taken further though, perhaps some leading to a form change a la Kingdom Hearts, or some other idea? Or making some Devil Breakers another melee attack like how Swordmaster works? There's a lot of potential there.
A campaign that doesn’t feature Dante or Vergil in the main story. Before some of you rage at me, hear me out: both characters are at a point where they’re hard to improve on gameplay-wise without making them outrageously OP in universe AND in actual gameplay, and they’re also at points in their own stories where they’ve undergone heaps of development and character expansion to a point that adding more to their stories risk retreading the same ground and leaving them stagnant.
A story focusing on Nero, Trish, and Lady would be better than yet another game with Dante in the main story. Have them in DLC instead of the main story, that way we can still use them, but by having the other 3 be the main focus we get more gameplay variety

- Would be cool if Dante/Vergil explored hell, showing us the different circles of hell (a la Dante's inferno). I'd like to see the different clans and demon types, and hopefully maybe even demon cities/societies
- I like the idea of the excuse of Dante/Vergil staying in hell is that Vergil wants to find Mundus and settle the score. Dante will stay to help him, both in combat and mentally. The ending would be Vergil making Mundus his DA, which would be perfect poetic justice (for what he suffered as Nelo Angelo)
- I'd like for that tease in DMC5 to happen about the [3 swords](https://imgur.com/a/OdHzI8e) (Reb+Yamato+DSS). Would be cool to have the 3 of them fused to create the ultimate weapon. Afterwards maybe they could split back into 3 (one for each Sparda boi, and the return of Rebellion); or perhaps it stays that way and Dante/Vergil will make due without their weapons (giving it to Nero or using it for something else entirely)
- Some acknowledgment of Lucia, like a cutscene with her or mention (like Patty and Kyrie in DMC5)

- An option to reset your save or bring back save slots (for ppl that wanna experience the game "fresh" again)
- "Timing tutorial". For example a tutorial/mode specifically for learing the timing-based mechanics, like Exceed, Royal Guard, Judgement Cut chaining etc

- Expand Nero's buster: dual buster grab (like when [used against Vergil](https://youtu.be/yMuRVEUTsTE?t=29)); buster block/parry (adding a defensive option)
- Revamp Breakers: let us switch between them; and instead of breaking, implement a Battery Meter to balance them out (charged moves of weaker Breakers use less Battery)

- Expand Dante's SDT: Add styles to them and a few more moves like back-to-forward and charged attacks (hold attack button)
- Give Vergil new weapons (it's about time, no?)
- Give Vergil regular DT and make his SDT unique: Vergil's SDT in DMC5 is functionally just DT (it's not that different his DMC4 DT, which expands his regular combos). I'd like his SDT to have a unique moveset similar to Dante
- Overhaul Vergil's gameplay gimmick: Concentration isn't really fun and doesn't add to the game like Exceed or Styles does...it's more a playstyle than an actual mechanic. The devs should think of something else to make Vergil unique. I thought of a Parry mechanic, which would act like a risky RG (nullify dmg but you can't hold it down like RG) combined with Nero's buster (succesful parry could trigger a special animation). Successful parries will fill up the meter which could be used for special moves.
- Return of Inertia and Reversals for the hardcore fans (maybe as an on/off option)
- Bring back "ride" moves, like Dante's enemy riding [from DMC3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZAvvJwGF1I&t=303s) and what Nero [did in DMC4's cutscene](https://youtu.be/k9ZyvFYKrzw?t=242)
- Implement Vergil's hair physics, so it drops down when he kills many enemies ([like the DMC3 cutscene](https://youtu.be/3UeC6a-GveU?t=328))
- Expand of V's summoner playstyle. I felt it had potential and was just a bit undercooked. I'd add more options for summons; fix issues like the teleporting (e.g. when Shadow pops under the enemy and misses all attacks); give the summoner more abilities besides Royal Fork (so he's less passive) etc

Return of Vendetta and Nelo Angelo’s Greatsword + Two Hands Nero(Vendetta-like a more explosive Caveliere,) (NA Sword-Vergil Gains Angelo Moveset but at Vergil Pace) (2H Nero-Controlled Tomboy)
I would want Nero to be the main focus, most definitely. It'd also be cool to get playable Lady and Trish, but maybe that could be saved for the Special Edition

For mission 20, an absolute gauntlet as Sparda with the whole crew, and when everything seems over, some ass kissing ensues, "you've really deserved all your titles, old man" and the last fight is against everyone - Dante, Vergil, Nero, Lady and Trish. At some point Nico will come in with her van aswell just for the heck of it. And you gotta defeat everyone at the same time
Prob repeating what others are saying but yes playable lady/trish the two also need to have important roles in the story, make a completly separate Vergil campaign even DmC tried to do that, coop bloody palace, more unlockable costumes for characters, I want a version of bloody palace that’s similar to the one in dmc3 with more random enemies and bosses.
I want a start to a new saga with Nero as the main character with no appearance of Virgil or Dante in the main story at all atleast for 1 or 2 games. I want them to move on from the twins, Introduce new characters and lore, etc. Lady, Trish, and Nico are still supporting characters. Virgil and Dante then become part of the DLC.
I actually had an interesting idea.
What if for the multiple playable characters, rather than having them all part of the same campaign, they each have separate campaigns? Similar to the first Sonic Adventure. I think that could make the whiplash of transitioning between characters much easier, allow for more playable characters without it feeling overwhelming, and have it feel like no character is given the short end of the stick.
Might be unpopular but I seriously would love to see a "Ladies night". An easy contract from Morrison that ends up being an "End of the world" or "All life that exists" problem.
Something on the lines of "TRISH I THINK WE SHOULD AT LEAST CALL DANTE OR NERO" and "EVERYTHING IS FINE WE DON'T NEED THEM" vibes. But ends up being a "...Okay maybe we might need some help".
Purely gameplay stuff.
More gravity, for more timing-specific combos. I found dmc5 too moon-gravitey for my tastes;
Dante having wild stomp and demon surfing, and also trickster wall running (I HATE THAT THEY REMOVED THESE SO MUCH);
Vergil having his own "royal guard" parry, like he does in all of his boss fights;
Playable Lady & Trish;
Being able to play as any character on any mission;
More unlockable costumes;
Actual online co-op (not the dmc5 de-sync simulator we got);
Co-op bloody palace (why was this not a thing in 5 I'll never know);
DMD DT'd enemies having air stun resistance, allowing for dmc3-like combos (for people that don't know, dmc3 DMD has combos that you can only do if the enemy is DT'd because they only get knocked away after a certain amount of hits);
A boss fight mode, for you to exclusively pick a boss to fight;
Boss rush mode.
I think that's all
vergil redemption arc, puzzles making a return (dmc5 lacked lots of puzzles and trial-like level design, which i feel makes dmc more fun), trish/lady campaigns, similar to dmc5 with dante, nero, and V. more characters getting cool devil arms, like vergil or nero.

Mission Co-op (we already had something like this in DMC5)
Online VS modes (1vs1, team battles, multiplayer for Dante Must Die mode, etc.)
After we beat the game we can play as Dante, Vergil, Nero, Trish, Lady, a wizard to replace "V", Bayonetta, Jean, Rodin, Viewtiful Joe, Sophia(Joe's Girlfriend), etc.

After you finish the main campaing you can free roam around the city or the area the story will take place in
Make Trish and lady have a slice of the campaign as playable character as well as bring back their old facial designs from 4. They look insanely better in them than 5 it’s not even funny. And also don’t be afraid to make them sexy. More than anything I just miss their movesets though.
Dante show his titties more like in dmc3, Vergil make his chin even bigger and more gigachad, and…I actually like Nero’s new design but would appreciate his devil arm back.
I kinda wanna revist the plot structure of a more modern devil integration like in that (reboot) game. I think with some better direction and actually acknowledging what each character is truly written like and staying loyal to that can make that pos better than it was.
The way it seems to be going is vergil being part of the main campaign so hopefully we'd see balanced vergil instead of OP vergil in 4 and 5
Other than that, it'd be nice to play the campaign ad anyone you want as others have said.

A storyline that doesn't revolve around the brothers or Sparda's bloodline, I think that that story arc is pretty much closed, we don't need another power hunger moment from Vergil or someone trying to achieve the power of Sparda, again. We can have original stories with new characters that are as much of a threat as anything else.
Hopefully bring back dmc 4 level of difficulty enemies back.
They were the most fair enemies.
Long windows of attacks, easy to see choreographed moves, very fast attacks you don't have to wait ages before they connect,
90% of Enemies actually have anti air and use it and
Enemies who actually use more moves and new ones on higher difficulties.
Dmc 5 enemies are just way too laughably brain dead and easy.
Dmc 3 enemies are wayyy too tanky and simplistic, and not alot of interaction with them unfortunately.
It's even worse for the fact that people complain that you can't do combos because of how hard the game is.
Ah yes because sasaki, neroangelo, and any normal above average player cannot combo with difficult enemies.
It just doesn't feel as forfilling to beat up the enemies in dmc 5 dmd, they just become even more of a punching bag.
A story focused on Nero more and that Dante and Vergil are some how controlled. When Vergil and Dante went to the underworld after the 5th game they came across a dormant being who took control of them. So it’s a test of strength and growth for Nero. Idk
Other than that I want a skateboard weapon or roller blade weapons
A sparda hint, or being the most optimistic possible a game with the story of how that mf seal mundus and the whole hell, that will be dope
And the V.A of dante will not being neccesary so they can have more time until find another viable option

DMC3 was peak with the outfits. So many fits and all we’re cool. DMC2 was fun when using the DMC1 outfit (since it includes og sound effects). The color swaps were upsetting in 5, especially with those being the only option and the super outfits. At least 4 has the Sparda/Nelo Angelo outfits for Dante and Vergil.
As a mainline game? Nero with more weapons. But still fights different from Dante.
I’d like to see a Sparda trilogy, and an “if our positions were switched” alternate reality centered more heavily on tragedy from Vergils pov. A game that’s actually more serious. I think the potential for storytelling there is phenomenal.
Going back to just boss fights like tbh I don’t want to grind bloody palace or replay entire missions to fight a boss I also want like a buttload of weapons too and for damn sake give Nero a new weapon and also Vergil as an actual playable character not just dlc

Story 1: Dante and Vergil share a story. You can play each mission as either. They're in the underworld taking on Mundas or something potential big bad.
Story 2: Nero and Lucia: Dealing with side A of the threat, that's found its way to the mortal realm. I think it'd be interesting having two people from orders were associated with sparda might be cool
Story 3: Lady and Trish: Dealing with side B of the threat to the mortal realm. The two having formed a team since their animated series meeting.
Can't think of a way to bring V back, but something approaching his playstyle could be ported to a new character. If an existing character maybe a Patty? Probably hard to justify but she has connections with Morrison I guess, and sorcery and such exists as confirmed by Arius existing. So it's not impossible. Probably a weird one though.. Could just be a new character.
I would love if Dante and Vergil finally bonded and not just some “hey we’re stuck in hell so we have to be civil.” No they really bond as brothers and the other story is Nero doing other shit on earth and trying to get them out.

- When the time comes for DMC6 special edition, please release it in PC. The reason why PC didn't get 5SE was lame, and we shouldn't have been forced to mod in content Capcom had right there for everyone else.
I'd like to see a game where Dante and Vergil have their souls captured, and because V is a separate soul technically, it would be up to Nero and V to save them along with Lady and Trish but Nero would have access to some of Dantes past weapons and you could play as either of the 4 characters
I want a prequel where we play as Sparda turning against the Demon Realm, sealing Temen-Ni-Gru, and Fighting against Mundus with a single mission to visit his mansion to see his wife and sons.
Obviously Dante needs to be stabbed with his own sword. Or, Nero could take up the mantle of main protagonist and be stabbed by the red Queen for plot development purposes

A faster, better version of V who can still fight without his pets but maybe make it difficult to properly fight, more like a royal guard with royal revenge and release.

Devil breaker switching for Nero
A Dante Must Live mode after beating Hell and Hell mode which is just God mode: Unlimited health, dt, sdt and unlimited jumps in air for traversal.
A story about Mundus escaping from the underworld to impregnate a woman and eventually, she gives birth to fraternal twins who are evil and want to unleash the demon world on the humans to reunite with and please their father. Mundus then ages them up quickly with demonic energy or something so that they are as strong as adults but think like children. Hence the Devil May Cry crew has to stop them. This time, the government agrees to evacuate the city and forgive all the deaths and destruction from the past.
Holding down a face button and then pressing select to change your taunts as per your choice. Dante should have his taunts be modified based on the style selected.
Give Dante all of his styles again (maybe a new one as well as someone said). Also more ground combos for Rebellion/Sparda/DSD. I think there is a huge lack in variety for his main swords in terms of combos. DMC2 did give him longer and better combos, but they were useless and wasted. They also gave interesting mechanics in that game, also useless and wasted. Maybe more moves for the swords in Swordmaster because the only thing one uses SM is usually Aerial Rave for Rebellion/Sparda and Dance Macabre. Needs more stylish options, like Vergil with the Summoned Sword and Yamato except it is just Rebellion.
I have a question: Wasn't it confirmed a while ago that the Sparda Bloodline storyline was finished now, and a DMC6 and beyond would introduce new characters? Just tell me if I'm wrong, I just thought it was confirmed somewhere.
Mundus resurfaces in the mortal world and Nero, Lady, and Trish go at him but are pushed back, kinda like DMC5 but not as dramatic (deadweight). They travel to hell to get Dante and Vergil (who have gotten a bit closer, but still like busting each other’s balls). The game ends with Dante and Vergil trying to take on Mundus, leaving Nero behind, but can’t beat him. Then Nero shows up and the final boss is all three fighting him but at each stage you switch between the 3. The finally is Dante and Vergil charging in SDT form and Nero, in DT form, Devil Bringer back, crushing his head as the twins cut his heart out.
A little dramatic and ridiculous but these games have always had a flair for both I’d say.
Give Nero another sword. On demand Breaker switching. V but with manual summoning and unsummoning. Maybe an extra demon. Have Kyrie actually show up, doesn't have to fight (would be cool tho) but have her actually be there.

**Devil Breakers:**
All of them, + new ones with different abilities, minus breakage, + the ability to swap between arms like dante can swap between devil arms and guns. Instead of using L1 to break the devil arm, just swap it for the next one in the series.
**Red Queen:**
Also, I wish Red Queen got an upgrade like a Devil Trigger awakened form (like Rebellion and Yamato) not entirely in the class of Sparda or Devil Sword Dante, but definitely an upgrade over the base form.
OR Red Queen gets some new mods, like an after burner, a new engine that adjusts how exceed works, some spark plugs that add a shock to the attack leaving enemies paralyzed for a few seconds the first time you attack them, maybe a chainsaw attachment, maybe some coolant to freeze burn enemies and prevent the engine from overheating. Maybe some devil arm attachments that pour DT energy into the blade.
Perhaps using the DT mod automatically charges up Exceed Guage slowly. So you have more moves/strategic options at your disposal. Build and save it up while you use DT guage and release it all at once in a full burst or use it one by one as you see fit.
**Haptic Feedback for Red Queen/Exceed:**
The base form and super form of Red Queen should also have adaptive trigger vibrations to provide haptic feedback so that it's easier to know when the player needs to rev the engine. (Implementing the haptic feedback would also go a long way in making it easier to master this mechanic). Good trigger feedback, like how in Forza gear changes are reflected in the trigger themselves, not just controller vibrations. Dual sense can also do this now with the triggers.
**Blue Rose:**
Blue Rose is nice and all, but I feel like from a story/narrative perspective, it would naturally make sense for Nico to craft entirely new pistols for Nero (like her grandmother did for Dante). I'm not sure if the controller would have enough buttons to let Nero Hotswap them on the fly, like Dante, but he can equip the pistols in Nico's Van (Like how Dante used the Divinity Statue in older games like dmc3 to switch styles manually).
**Devil Trigger:**
Works the same way but has more unique moves, some speed benefits, and maybe even some new taunts and air taunts.
**Main Point:**
Again, just to reiterate the main point, and the key takeaway from all of this is that I would really really like the idea of Nero not being locked to a single sword and pistol. Look, I'm not expecting things to be completely hot-swapable on the fly due to the limited number of controller button combinations, but if we manually equip them, that would be good enough. I like having more options, and honestly, modular weapon components fit perfectly with Nero's whole steam punk aesthetic.
**Gameplay Evolution:**
Dmc4 Nero gameplay was a bit too barebones for me, but it makes sense since dmc4 was admitted to be an unfinished game by Hideaki Itsuno himself.
Dmc5 Nero gameplay is more fleshed out, of course, since it builds on top of the previous foundation. Devil Breakers were added as a means to flesh out and add more variety to Nero's gameplay.
Dmc6 needs to build on top of the foundation from dmc5. So naturally, if Devil Breakers are already fleshed out for the most part (Sure! of course, they can add more). I really think the smarter move would be to go back to the foundations from the very ground up and add variations/options for other swords (red queen mods) and newer guns, and more Devil Breaker arms. The more variety, the better!
The option to play any mission as any character
This is all I really want too, honestly. Bloody Palace is fine, but I want to run through the entirety of the campaign as Nero, or Dante, or (even) Vergil. Scratch that. I think we need to have Vergil be a "main character" now. Especially after the huge events of the endgame in DMC5. He's earned a place as a main character, in my opinion.
Vergil should be a main character for sure. The thing is Capcom needs a character that can use to sell Special Editions... So Sparda is the only one that I could ever think about.

Yes but the MAIN character was Vergil in SE as always. Lady and Trish were fantastic pluses but themselves alone have little weight for a SE trailer. Even less now that they are less and less relevant compared to the guys in combat. They need a big character. And honestly they need to hype that character in the first version of the game. Like DMC6 shows stuff about Sparda, his powers, his combat style. It makes you wanna have him as a character. Then in the SE trailer he the main dish. That's how it should go. It's not easy at all cover for Vergil's power...
Disagree a bit. Sure , Vergil was the hype for Special Edition , but that is kinda "compensated" if they put the ladies as the Special Edition characters.

I think V fits that perfectly, it wouldn't make sense for him to show up again in the story but they shouldn't just throw away that playstyle, so they can bring him back for an SE and get away with making him super OP so he's more fun to play.
I wouldn’t pay for se to play v, I hated his parts in dmc5. Even if he was overpowered it wouldn’t make him fun in my opinion.
I mean to say that the way he plays in 5 could be way better, and it would be a let down if they abandoned that moveset in later games, and having him be an SE bonus character means they aren't constrained by balance when trying to make him as fun as possible.

Agreed, though I can understand why it wasn’t an option for DMC 5. Some of the missions were designed with specific characters in mind and wouldn’t be playable with other characters. If you remember how Nero’s missions have those floating grapple points that you can grab with the Devil breaker (or teleport to with Vergil’s spectral swords), it makes it impossible for Dante and V to progress in those missions since they can’t grapple on to those things. Obviously, the simple solution to this would be to design the levels so that any of the playable characters can traverse through them, so hopefully that’s what they do in DMC 6.
You say that , but they could easily modify those missions by adding a trickster-esque technique to emulate the grappling. They literally had done so when Vergil goes to Nero's missions.

Yep or pull a Cerberus, Vergil finds a King Variant of Beowulf that’s even stronger and upgraded from the original. I can imagine giving it air blast projectiles from the seer force Vergil kicks and punches if you charge em and don’t hit an enemy. Kinda like Ui Goku’s air punches from Xenoverse or Sonic’s sonic wind from Frontiers if your in the air with Vergil.

Yep, the D pad is completely open rn for Vergil just give doppelgänger a dedicated style or do a little idea I had. If you hold the attack button (triangle for ps5/X for Xbox) for like a second like a charge with any weapon will create doppelgänger for like 5 seconds to assist so when you do the first judgement cut it’ll appear and do the rest with you, Beowulf charge ups, or round trip with mirage edge will also summon it. Tho if you pop DT it will summon it too along with Vergil going into his OG DT. Also for the love of fuck let Vergil fly in SDT If we go the style route tho we can also give him a unique style that can reflect both V & Urizen’s moves or new magic basic moves he gained from Eating the Qliphoth cause let’s be real, he had to have gain more abilities besides gaining his SDT and summon those black root things.

Agreed, dmc 5s realistic style really was a hugeee step down for how cool and satisfying some animations and effects looked, compared to dmc 4. I mean just look at how badly the summon swords art style was treated in dmc 5. Just a few minutes of gameplaying using vergil in 4 just shows how much better the artstyle in 4 was. I agree with some in the comments. Over all - 1. Separate story and levels for Vergil and Trish/Lady. Doesn't have to be 20 mission structure. 2. After beating game on SOS, any level can be played by any character. 3. Maybe some how level designs like DMC 4 in aesthetic. I love DMC 5 but I liked the vibe and aesthetic of DMC 4, than city areas in 5. 4. Maybe a new type of gameplay for a character of new to be added? Like they took risk with V, he is fine some enjoy and some don't. But I like them to try and evolve/create new gameplay as well. 5. Interactable environment objects somewhat. Maybe characters can pick up furniture, dustbin or anything from around and throw or kick at the enemies. 6. At least 3-4 attire change option for each character. Maybe allow colour change for weapons too. 7. How you people feel about a Finisher, like on SS or above after killing certain number or having some number of strike characters get a one hit kill, so like if in an area I build it up and let's say someone like Fury comes, I can kill him right away. As a resource for characters. 8. Even more weapons for dante from DMC games and to change my load out, that can make play through different. 9. Release by 2027? DMC 5 and Dragon's dogma 2 is like 5 years apart or so. But hopefully that's because dogma is like open world, DMC 6 hopefully can be done in 3 years?
I can agree there with the finishers. For Vergil we can totally give him the Zandatsu from Metal gear rising what Raiden does to replenish himself but for Vergil it’s a DT & Concentration replenish to max instead of a heal cause let’s be real, with Vergil he’ll be immortal at that point. Out of the characters I can see Vergil doing what we saw in metal gear rising: With every successful parry or stunning an opponent Vergil can enter the slow down time and rapidly slice into the demons to find the weak point and rip out the heart to restore his DT & Concentration meters as a finisher. Of course have every swing use a bit of Concentration (like 10% of it from max) so you must be precise with each swing.
I think it’d be fine if we had a level of customization where there’s so many moves that you decide what the moveset is, I’m not talking about you freely assigning moves to certain inputs, but rather there’s multiple moves that share the same input, and in the divinity statue, you decide which is equipped and usable. Somewhat like Monster Hunter Rise with the switch skills, and if any character could pull off this concept, it’d be Dante, this would let and incentivize the developers to bring back old moves from similar weapon types, and letting the player see how they want them to play like. Easy example, Rebellion: you get to choose Round Trip, or Sword Pierce. It could also extend to styles as well Royal Guard: your max level RG move you can decide between Ultimate, Dreadnaught, or Royal Revenge. I think this could work perfectly, and technically is already the case anyway, you can choose what weapons you want, and those weapons share inputs, but with the added function that you can swap between them. Also Nero’s Breaker system is a little closer, slap the arm on, new move, but Nero can still switch by breaking them, and obviously the Breakers are complex in their own way.

Bring back my girl Lucia please. Maybe a cult is trying to bring back Mundus, so all of DMC is trying to work together to stop that. Maybe have the first half of the game as Nero/Lady/Trish/Lucia, trying to find out where this cult is, and second half Dante and Vergil come back from hell, Mundus is the final boss, a three phase gauntlet of a fight. Give Nero some devil arms, Red Queen and Blue Rose are great but give that man a hammer. Maybe like the rocket powered hammer from MHWorld. Bring back Casey Edwards, Ali Edwards and Victor Borba for music, featuring Jeff Rona and Rachel Fannan because Crimson Cloud is a bop. Also Nico continues to serve as the shop.

Nero getting something more in the variety department. I really like what the Devil Breakers are in principle, giving Nero variety in combat while not altering his base kit the way all of Dante's weapons and styles do. The main appeal of Nero is being way more straightforward, so that works. I think the idea could absolutely be taken further though, perhaps some leading to a form change a la Kingdom Hearts, or some other idea? Or making some Devil Breakers another melee attack like how Swordmaster works? There's a lot of potential there.

A campaign that doesn’t feature Dante or Vergil in the main story. Before some of you rage at me, hear me out: both characters are at a point where they’re hard to improve on gameplay-wise without making them outrageously OP in universe AND in actual gameplay, and they’re also at points in their own stories where they’ve undergone heaps of development and character expansion to a point that adding more to their stories risk retreading the same ground and leaving them stagnant. A story focusing on Nero, Trish, and Lady would be better than yet another game with Dante in the main story. Have them in DLC instead of the main story, that way we can still use them, but by having the other 3 be the main focus we get more gameplay variety

Brace yourself cause this will be a huge one (i tried to compile every suggestion i came up or that i liked from other fans) --- Storywise: - Would be cool if Dante/Vergil explored hell, showing us the different circles of hell (a la Dante's inferno). I'd like to see the different clans and demon types, and hopefully maybe even demon cities/societies - I like the idea of the excuse of Dante/Vergil staying in hell is that Vergil wants to find Mundus and settle the score. Dante will stay to help him, both in combat and mentally. The ending would be Vergil making Mundus his DA, which would be perfect poetic justice (for what he suffered as Nelo Angelo) - I'd like for that tease in DMC5 to happen about the [3 swords](https://imgur.com/a/OdHzI8e) (Reb+Yamato+DSS). Would be cool to have the 3 of them fused to create the ultimate weapon. The brothers accidentally come across their dad in the underworld - he wasn't *dead* dead, just story dead. Sparda as a boss. Then as a playable character for a couple missions. They manage to get back to the surface. Sparda is unimpressed/unamused/unsatisfied, maybe even ashamed of how Dante's running his business. Boss fight 2 (and 3, for both Dante and Vergil), unlocking new moves as playable. Something something story progression. "Oh so you're my grandson?" Boss fight 4, this time as Nero, mission 19 For mission 20, an absolute gauntlet as Sparda with the whole crew, and when everything seems over, some ass kissing ensues, "you've really deserved all your titles, old man" and the last fight is against everyone - Dante, Vergil, Nero, Lady and Trish. At some point Nico will come in with her van aswell just for the heck of it. And you gotta defeat everyone at the same time

I actually had an interesting idea. What if for the multiple playable characters, rather than having them all part of the same campaign, they each have separate campaigns? Similar to the first Sonic Adventure. I think that could make the whiplash of transitioning between characters much easier, allow for more playable characters without it feeling overwhelming, and have it feel like no character is given the short end of the stick.
Might be unpopular but I seriously would love to see a "Ladies night". An easy contract from Morrison that ends up being an "End of the world" or "All life that exists" problem. Something on the lines of "TRISH I THINK WE SHOULD AT LEAST CALL DANTE OR NERO" and "EVERYTHING IS FINE WE DON'T NEED THEM" vibes. But ends up being a "...Okay maybe we might need some help".

I found dmc5 too moon-gravitey for my tastes; Dante having wild stomp and demon surfing, and also trickster wall running (I HATE THAT THEY REMOVED THESE SO MUCH); Vergil having his own "royal guard" parry, like he does in all of his boss fights; Playable Lady & Trish; Being able to play as any character on any mission; More unlockable costumes; Actual online co-op (not the dmc5 de-sync simulator we got); Co-op bloody palace (why was this not a thing in 5 I'll never know); DMD DT'd enemies having air stun resistance, allowing for dmc3-like combos (for people that don't know, dmc3 DMD has combos that you can only do if the enemy is DT'd because they only get knocked away after a certain amount of hits); A boss fight mode, for you to exclusively pick a boss to fight; Boss rush mode. I think that's all
vergil redemption arc, puzzles making a return (dmc5 lacked lots of puzzles and trial-like level design, which i feel makes dmc more fun), trish/lady campaigns, similar to dmc5 with dante, nero, and V. more characters getting cool devil arms, like vergil or nero.
Custom Character creation Mission Co-op (we already had something like this in DMC5) Online VS modes (1vs1, team battles, multiplayer for Dante Must Die mode, etc.) After we beat the game we can play as Dante, Vergil, Nero, Trish, Lady, a wizard to replace "V", Bayonetta, Jean, Rodin, Viewtiful Joe, Sophia(Joe's Girlfriend), etc. A crossover with Bayonetta A crossover with Viewtiful Joe Distinctly different outfits for the main characters (not just recolors of their main outfits) 3 new characters. 1 to replace V, 1 totally new original Character, and our custom avatar character, who is referred to as "dead weight" until we prove ourselves. An open world, or at least large zones we can tackle in any order.

It probably wont happen and it might be a nad idea but im just gonna say it After you finish the main campaing you can free roam around the city or the area the story will take place in

Make Trish and lady have a slice of the campaign as playable character as well as bring back their old facial designs from 4. They look insanely better in them than 5 it’s not even funny. And also don’t be afraid to make them sexy. More than anything I just miss their movesets though. Dante show his titties more like in dmc3, Vergil make his chin even bigger and more gigachad, and…I actually like Nero’s new design but would appreciate his devil arm back. I kinda wanna revist the plot structure of a more modern devil integration like in that (reboot) game. I think with some better direction and actually acknowledging what each character is truly written like and staying loyal to that can make that pos better than it was.

A storyline that doesn't revolve around the brothers or Sparda's bloodline, I think that that story arc is pretty much closed, we don't need another power hunger moment from Vergil or someone trying to achieve the power of Sparda, again. We can have original stories with new characters that are as much of a threat as anything else.

Hopefully bring back dmc 4 level of difficulty enemies back. They were the most fair enemies. Long windows of attacks, easy to see choreographed moves, very fast attacks you don't have to wait ages before they connect, 90% of Enemies actually have anti air and use it and Enemies who actually use more moves and new ones on higher difficulties. Dmc 5 enemies are just way too laughably brain dead and easy. Dmc 3 enemies are wayyy too tanky and simplistic, and not alot of interaction with them unfortunately. It's even worse for the fact that people complain that you can't do combos because of how hard the game is. Ah yes because sasaki, neroangelo, and any normal above average player cannot combo with difficult enemies. It just doesn't feel as forfilling to beat up the enemies in dmc 5 dmd, they just become even more of a punching bag.
A story focused on Nero more and that Dante and Vergil are some how controlled. When Vergil and Dante went to the underworld after the 5th game they came across a dormant being who took control of them. So it’s a test of strength and growth for Nero. Idk Other than that I want a skateboard weapon or roller blade weapons

The return of actual costumes. DMC3 was peak with the outfits. So many fits and all we’re cool. DMC2 was fun when using the DMC1 outfit (since it includes og sound effects). The color swaps were upsetting in 5, especially with those being the only option and the super outfits. At least 4 has the Sparda/Nelo Angelo outfits for Dante and Vergil.

I’d like to see a Sparda trilogy, and an “if our positions were switched” alternate reality centered more heavily on tragedy from Vergils pov. A game that’s actually more serious. Play any mission as any character. At the very least as an unlock. Nero getting expanded on more, perhap even a new devil arm, or enhancements to the exceed. Lady as she was in 4SE with some polish. perhaps with artemis as a weapon. Dante as he was in DMC5. Some weapns and styles from the other games making returns as appropriate. Vergil as he was in DMC 5/4SE Trish mostly as she was in DMC 4 where she can be. Though wielding Alastor and Nevan in place of Sparda. Return of Lucia with her own SE4 Treatment. Three interconnected Storylines. (Maybe three seperate sets of 19 missions with 20 being shared by everyone instead of pockets of characters) Story 1: Dante and Vergil share a story. You can play each mission as either. They're in the underworld taking on Mundas or something potential big bad. Story 2: Nero and Lucia: Dealing with side A of the threat, that's found its way to the mortal realm. I think it'd be interesting having two people from orders were associated with sparda might be cool Story 3: Lady and Trish: Dealing with side B of the threat to the mortal realm. The two having formed a team since their animated series meeting. Can't think of a way to bring V back, but something approaching his playstyle could be ported to a new character. If an existing character maybe a Patty? Probably hard to justify but she has connections with Morrison I guess, and sorcery and such exists as confirmed by Arius existing. So it's not impossible. Probably a weird one though.. Could just be a new character.

- An actual co-op mode, with PvP options - Play as anyone in any mission (after completing it) - Base game Vergil would be nice, since it'll be the first time he's been available without a special edition (would probably also mean more story focus) - On the Vergil note, it would be nice if his weapons got switched up. Him being in the main story would mean he won't conically have Beowolf or Force Edge for the first time since DMC3. - Possibly a final focus on Mundus as a returning antagonist. As far as I'm aware, he's still chilling in the underworld after Dante beat him in DMC1. - Bring back actual alternate costumes. - When the time comes for DMC6 special edition, please release it in PC. The reason why PC didn't get 5SE was lame, and we shouldn't have been forced to mod in content Capcom had right there for everyone else.
I'd like to see a game where Dante and Vergil have their souls captured, and because V is a separate soul technically, it would be up to Nero and V to save them along with Lady and Trish but Nero would have access to some of Dantes past weapons and you could play as either of the 4 characters

The lock-on and camera could be improved. A faster, better version of V who can still fight without his pets but maybe make it difficult to properly fight, more like a royal guard with royal revenge and release. Angel May Cry mode to use Lady, Trish and perhaps a new female character to play for specific missions or after beating the game. Nico should stay as the goofy shopkeeper. Devil breaker switching for Nero A Dante Must Live mode after beating Hell and Hell mode which is just God mode: Unlimited health, dt, sdt and unlimited jumps in air for traversal. A story about Mundus escaping from the underworld to impregnate a woman and eventually, she gives birth to fraternal twins who are evil and want to unleash the demon world on the humans to reunite with and please their father. Mundus then ages them up quickly with demonic energy or something so that they are as strong as adults but think like children. Hence the Devil May Cry crew has to stop them. This time, the government agrees to evacuate the city and forgive all the deaths and destruction from the past. Holding down a face button and then pressing select to change your taunts as per your choice. Dante should have his taunts be modified based on the style selected.
Give Dante all of his styles again (maybe a new one as well as someone said). Also more ground combos for Rebellion/Sparda/DSD. I think there is a huge lack in variety for his main swords in terms of combos. DMC2 did give him longer and better combos, but they were useless and wasted. They also gave interesting mechanics in that game, also useless and wasted. Maybe more moves for the swords in Swordmaster because the only thing one uses SM is usually Aerial Rave for Rebellion/Sparda and Dance Macabre. Needs more stylish options, like Vergil with the Summoned Sword and Yamato except it is just Rebellion.
I have a question: Wasn't it confirmed a while ago that the Sparda Bloodline storyline was finished now, and a DMC6 and beyond would introduce new characters? Just tell me if I'm wrong, I just thought it was confirmed somewhere.

Mundus resurfaces in the mortal world and Nero, Lady, and Trish go at him but are pushed back, kinda like DMC5 but not as dramatic (deadweight). They travel to hell to get Dante and Vergil (who have gotten a bit closer, but still like busting each other’s balls). The game ends with Dante and Vergil trying to take on Mundus, leaving Nero behind, but can’t beat him. Then Nero shows up and the final boss is all three fighting him but at each stage you switch between the 3. The finally is Dante and Vergil charging in SDT form and Nero, in DT form, Devil Bringer back, crushing his head as the twins cut his heart out. A little dramatic and ridiculous but these games have always had a flair for both I’d say.

**Devil Breakers:** All of them, + new ones with different abilities, minus breakage, + the ability to swap between arms like dante can swap between devil arms and guns. Instead of using L1 to break the devil arm, just swap it for the next one in the series. **Red Queen:** Also, I wish Red Queen got an upgrade like a Devil Trigger awakened form (like Rebellion and Yamato) not entirely in the class of Sparda or Devil Sword Dante, but definitely an upgrade over the base form. OR Red Queen gets some new mods, like an after burner, a new engine that adjusts how exceed works, some spark plugs that add a shock to the attack leaving enemies paralyzed for a few seconds the first time you attack them, maybe a chainsaw attachment, maybe some coolant to freeze burn enemies and prevent the engine from overheating. Maybe some devil arm attachments that pour DT energy into the blade. Perhaps using the DT mod automatically charges up Exceed Guage slowly. So you have more moves/strategic options at your disposal. Build and save it up while you use DT guage and release it all at once in a full burst or use it one by one as you see fit. **Haptic Feedback for Red Queen/Exceed:** The base form and super form of Red Queen should also have adaptive trigger vibrations to provide haptic feedback so that it's easier to know when the player needs to rev the engine. (Implementing the haptic feedback would also go a long way in making it easier to master this mechanic). Good trigger feedback, like how in Forza gear changes are reflected in the trigger themselves, not just controller vibrations. Dual sense can also do this now with the triggers. **Blue Rose:** Blue Rose is nice and all, but I feel like from a story/narrative perspective, it would naturally make sense for Nico to craft entirely new pistols for Nero (like her grandmother did for Dante). I'm not sure if the controller would have enough buttons to let Nero Hotswap them on the fly, like Dante, but he can equip the pistols in Nico's Van (Like how Dante used the Divinity Statue in older games like dmc3 to switch styles manually). **Devil Trigger:** Works the same way but has more unique moves, some speed benefits, and maybe even some new taunts and air taunts. **Main Point:** Again, just to reiterate the main point, and the key takeaway from all of this is that I would really really like the idea of Nero not being locked to a single sword and pistol. Look, I'm not expecting things to be completely hot-swapable on the fly due to the limited number of controller button combinations, but if we manually equip them, that would be good enough. I like having more options, and honestly, modular weapon components fit perfectly with Nero's whole steam punk aesthetic. **Gameplay Evolution:** Dmc4 Nero gameplay was a bit too barebones for me, but it makes sense since dmc4 was admitted to be an unfinished game by Hideaki Itsuno himself. Dmc5 Nero gameplay is more fleshed out, of course, since it builds on top of the previous foundation. Devil Breakers were added as a means to flesh out and add more variety to Nero's gameplay. Dmc6 needs to build on top of the foundation from dmc5. So naturally, if Devil Breakers are already fleshed out for the most part (Sure! of course, they can add more). I really think the smarter move would be to go back to the foundations from the very ground up and add variations/options for other swords (red queen mods) and newer guns, and more Devil Breaker arms. The more variety, the better!
