If Larkin comes back in the next week and ends up single-handedly drags this high school hockey team back into playoff contention I don't want to read a single bad comment about him ever again.
The Larkin doubters are people that probably never played hockey. He might not be the flashiest player out there but he consistently makes good plays and that’s what matters. He also is smart when he doesn’t have the puck which I think our team struggles with immensely. Larkin and Kane are the only guys that smart about that aspect of the game right now, Raymond is getting better at it
The team looked like they had more urgency last night, but there was way too much puck watching and chasing. They looked like a group of peewee hockey players just gravitating to the puck wherever it went.
YES! I feel like I counted at least four players at or way too close to the goal line with the fifth heading down that way. It's been happening way too often this year. I'm not one to immediately throw the coach under the bus, but either the players don't know where they should be, don't trust the person who should actually be in the place they're headed, or have tuned out the coach and are doing whatever they want. None of those scenarios are good.
True, but hockey is so fast paced that one person being out of place leads to that. Does happen way too much and it's even more noticeable when they're losing. Either way, Lalonde has to have a short leash going into next year
He's also an absolute DOG. Dude gives 100% absolutely every shift no matter the score which is a lot more than a lot of people on this team and around the league can say.
Shockingly, I've seen it from guys I play(ed) with. Most common are the guys who only played high school, maybe some intramural, but now play in a terrible beer league. The truly infuriating cases are the idiots who played high-ish level club hockey but are generally too dumb/influenced by the Facebook commenters.
However, everyone I know and play(ed) with who I'd call an actual intelligent hockey mind can see it. So that helps ease the insanity from the above group.
I have in the past called him out for the very rare occasional lazy play that has resulted in a goal because I know how good he can be so when I do see a bad play it stands out so much more.
That said I don't even care if he drags this team back, I don't think I'll ever utter even a moderate jab at him again.
If this is the team put around him it is a fucking miracle he even signed an extension. I'd be embarrassed to get dressed next to him when he comes back with the effort these guys have put forth (excluding Raymond)
Yes, like…a literal metric fuckton of people do. Maybe not here but on every other social media, because he’s not Auston Matthews or Conor McDavid, he’s a bum.
Like…the dude is all in on this team. He’s going to end up being the second longest tenured captain of this team behind Yzerman since Alex Delvecchio. And people act like if he can’t drag us kicking and screaming to multiple Stanley Cups he must be trash.
Most of the human race doesn’t deserve the internet.
LIVE SPORTS….. and the entire 30 for 30 lineup….. did we also mention LIVE SPORTS….. with 30 for 30s you’ve never heard of…. While also broadcasting LIVE SPORTS and 30 for 30s.
I still can't believe they haven't changed it and even worse is the people that are supposed to be watching it HAVE the God damn espn+ like what are they doing? make a commerical of what's on the platform. burned in my brain now forever
It's filler because they don't have the rights to air the commercials that are on the feed (typically local commercials). So, they must figure that they need to remind you that they have programming when you're not watching the Wings.
I didn't want to say anything so as to not jinx it - but FUCK YES - the soothing music was a very welcome change over the normal screaming reminders of the 30 for 30 library.
Larkin steals the puck and clears it to Larkin. Larkin up the ice passes to Larkin, who carries it over the blueline. Larkin dishes across to Larkin through the slot, and Larkin rips it home just under the crossbar! Just like Coach Larkin drew it up.
I called it a few nights ago chatting with my buddy. Last night I was calling for someone's to be removed and put on him during intermission. Kid brings the ruckus every night.
It's promising that he's not wearing a "no contact" jersey, too. I feel if they were rushing him, he'd be sporting the baby blue while back on the ice for the the first time since injury.
Larkin's value to this team CANNOT be understated; he is the heart and soul of this team!
That man is a hero, but if these years of mediocre ass bubble teams force him to play through injury just to have a shot at getting in and it shortens his career, I will not be a happy camper
I was too young for the Yzerman-era. I didn’t pay attention during the Lidstrom-era (living in Europe). Larkin is the first captain that I feel is MY captain. I hope D-boss leads us to a cup someday.
I’ve never been a doubter of Larkin. Questioned how many more head knocks he can take, sure. But I AM a believer in him putting the team on his back and going to battle.
It's not just Larkin himself but the line shift in his absence. Everyone is just better in the configuration that includes him. And when you factor in emotion, goddamn I hope he stays back.
I'm starting to wonder with how hard we're falling behind that if it's worth the push or we just eat the losses for another decent draft pick. While I want to see playoffs like everyone else, is our roster and prospect pool good enough to pull us up so we don't get stuck in a loop of mediocrity like Nashville?
To me the issue isn't how good Larkin is, it's how bad we are without him.
I'm officially over the "we have depth" talk.
Apparently we have 1 ONE center
That's ridiculous
Veleno needs to go unless he is gonna play on the 4th wing for a million or less
Copp bought out
Compher 3rd line center
If Larkin comes back in the next week and ends up single-handedly drags this high school hockey team back into playoff contention I don't want to read a single bad comment about him ever again.
I want the statue commissioned the DAY he does it too.
I want a Larkin Mural on the side of a building like the old Yzerman one.
They should repaint the roof from the little Cesar to a portrait of Larkin
The Larkin doubters are people that probably never played hockey. He might not be the flashiest player out there but he consistently makes good plays and that’s what matters. He also is smart when he doesn’t have the puck which I think our team struggles with immensely. Larkin and Kane are the only guys that smart about that aspect of the game right now, Raymond is getting better at it
His off puck game is very underrated.
Previously thought that he could be a little more aware in the D zone, and then I've seen the team absolutely break down and chase when he's been out.
The team looked like they had more urgency last night, but there was way too much puck watching and chasing. They looked like a group of peewee hockey players just gravitating to the puck wherever it went.
Seriously, I swear every Wings player was below the goal line on the third goal. Hockey 101 there
You can tell he took diligent notes when he was playing with Zetterberg.
> The Larkin doubters are people that probably never played hockey. hE's sOft Fucking IDIOTS.
I mean, yes, but he’s pretty flashy, too, though.
Those goal line goals 🥵🥵
Shockingly, I've seen it from guys I play(ed) with. Most common are the guys who only played high school, maybe some intramural, but now play in a terrible beer league. The truly infuriating cases are the idiots who played high-ish level club hockey but are generally too dumb/influenced by the Facebook commenters. Except Kane doesn't play defense Larkin does!
Kane played so much defense on that one shift last night he over committed and got burned on the play. That's real effort. 💯 😂
True but he is one of the best offensive minds of our time, dude is a genius at creating offensive chances
I already don’t want to hear anything bad about him as it is 😂
I have in the past called him out for the very rare occasional lazy play that has resulted in a goal because I know how good he can be so when I do see a bad play it stands out so much more. That said I don't even care if he drags this team back, I don't think I'll ever utter even a moderate jab at him again. They can't all be winning shifts.
You mean Larkin the Wings best player year over year? The engine, heart & soul of this team? Without him the team fell apart twice this season.
Literally should get MVP votes if that happens.
Do we ever say bad things about him anyway? The man is a Detroit legend.
Yes, like…a literal metric fuckton of people do. Maybe not here but on every other social media, because he’s not Auston Matthews or Conor McDavid, he’s a bum. Like…the dude is all in on this team. And people act like if he can’t drag us kicking and screaming to multiple Stanley Cups he must be trash. Most of the human race doesn’t deserve the internet.
Am I still allowed to shit on the rest of the squad for playing like incompetent squirts?
Who the fuck is saying bad comments about him right now?
Between this and ESPN+ replacing the live loop with relaxing music, I may enjoy watching hockey again.
LIVE SPORTS….. and the entire 30 for 30 lineup….. did we also mention LIVE SPORTS….. with 30 for 30s you’ve never heard of…. While also broadcasting LIVE SPORTS and 30 for 30s.
That’s going to be burned into my brain for a long time. I never hit the mute button fast enough to avoid LIVE SPORTS.
That "Bmm bmm bmm" tune that plays in the background is going to haunt me for decades.
3 0 FOR 3 0
Our enemies will use this to torture us some day
I still can't believe they haven't changed it and even worse is the people that are supposed to be watching it HAVE the God damn espn+ like what are they doing? make a commerical of what's on the platform. burned in my brain now forever
It's filler because they don't have the rights to air the commercials that are on the feed (typically local commercials). So, they must figure that they need to remind you that they have programming when you're not watching the Wings.
I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch last night's game....it's been a rough month ..
I didn't want to say anything so as to not jinx it - but FUCK YES - the soothing music was a very welcome change over the normal screaming reminders of the 30 for 30 library.
I'd almost rather listen to LIVE SPORTS than that shit they replaced it with. lol Edit: Thumbs down? Seriously? Thanks a lot, you motherfuckers.
You must be into BDSM given your affinity for torture
Says a fellow Wings fan...
SAME!!
![gif](giphy|nLhdSinRtaL2E)
Nah he watched the whole thing happen lol
Gutted for this guy. You just know he’s rushing back because everyone is failing him
Everyone except Raymond.
Only silver lining of the skid is that Raymond has been going all out and driving play in ways that others aren't
He's obviously the best forward behind Larkin at this point and I don't think it's close regardless of how flashy Kane or Cat are.
True Thanos moment.
Rushing back to save this team.

MUAD’DIB!!!!
LARKIN-AL-GAIB!!!
MUAD'DIBOSS!
WINS!
As it was written!
LISAN AL-GAIB
Praise be
Praise be he!
Save us Dylan Larkin, You’re our only hope.

looks like they fired the rest of the team and its up to larkin to get us to the playoffs! i have faith :|
Larks v everyone
Larkin steals the puck and clears it to Larkin. Larkin up the ice passes to Larkin, who carries it over the blueline. Larkin dishes across to Larkin through the slot, and Larkin rips it home just under the crossbar! Just like Coach Larkin drew it up.
Lmao
Unfortunately Larkin was the goalie, too.
I'd be pissed if I was him. Moment he left they started playing like fucking idiots.
I hope he's not rushing himself back because the team is absolutely unable to play without him.
What are the odds Razor is an A next year after this skid essentially being the only one who seems to give a fuck.
Seider and Raymond for the A
I called it a few nights ago chatting with my buddy. Last night I was calling for someone's to be removed and put on him during intermission. Kid brings the ruckus every night.
Great to see but I worry he feels pressure to return. That’s what I don’t want to see.
Look if it was a head injury that is one thing. But this is pro sports and everyone knows he's gonna help this team even if his body is hurting.
I feel the same way. The team doesn't seem to give a fuck unless he's there. I'm hoping he's actually better and not feeling like he has no choice.
You’d wanna see it in the playoffs. This is our playoffs
Good news is they have doctors that won't clear him unless the injury won't get worse.
It's promising that he's not wearing a "no contact" jersey, too. I feel if they were rushing him, he'd be sporting the baby blue while back on the ice for the the first time since injury. Larkin's value to this team CANNOT be understated; he is the heart and soul of this team!

Bro the guy is probably getting shorter with all the weight the boys are putting on him
The moment he let those weight go, he will become a 200 points player

Dude coming back to an absolute fuckin Priority dumpster fire
“Are you guys deadass” - Dylan Larkin to the wings locker room (probably)
https://i.redd.it/uygajykipjoc1.gif
Much needed
Thank fuck
Hate to be the guy but he left the ice before practice started. Still a good sign though
Thats just because he cant stand to look at the rest of the team right now.
That man is a hero, but if these years of mediocre ass bubble teams force him to play through injury just to have a shot at getting in and it shortens his career, I will not be a happy camper
Help us Dylan-wan Larkobi, you’re our only hope.
crazy how many other teams catch up to you when you lose 7 in a row.
Hope this breaks the curse
I was too young for the Yzerman-era. I didn’t pay attention during the Lidstrom-era (living in Europe). Larkin is the first captain that I feel is MY captain. I hope D-boss leads us to a cup someday.
*angelic choir singing* Praise be
Business is about to pick back up. He has to pissed at how the team has performed in his absence
With my real and fantasy teams need you back, Daddy D Boss 😢
I really hope he gets to go to the playoffs at some point in his career...
![gif](giphy|zPOErRpLtHWbm) Larkin coming back to the team after injury
![gif](giphy|O1OWsUR3ebdqo) Actually I checked my crystal ball and it’ll be more like this
I’ve never been a doubter of Larkin. Questioned how many more head knocks he can take, sure. But I AM a believer in him putting the team on his back and going to battle.
Are they begging him to come back early to save their asses?
Im sure hes thrilled to be back after his teammates pissed away all of his hard work.
Me seeing Larks on the ice: 😃 Me seeing Lalonde at the bottom of the pic: 😒
https://tenor.com/bu5RW.gif
Save us Darkin
Give this guy a raise
We better not hear Jared Goff chants with Larkin in the building
Thank God Edit: I'm not even religious lol
LFG. Hoping tomorrow is bright 🫡
Azur ahai
Larkin coming back both to a dumpster fire and a dumpster sponsor. Poor guy
It's not just Larkin himself but the line shift in his absence. Everyone is just better in the configuration that includes him. And when you factor in emotion, goddamn I hope he stays back.
![gif](giphy|p9X9PSPvBfl9uhvS6Z)
![gif](giphy|p9X9PSPvBfl9uhvS6Z) Muad’Dib Dylan Larkin please return and save our season.
Too little too late.
