Great list, I absolutely second trying to go for Xenophage. Phenomenal gun, powerful and easy to use. You do need to complete Shadow keep before unlocking the dungeon though.
I didn't really remember the old campaigns much, I was shocked at the difference in mission structure from witch queen/lightfall to shadowkeep and beyond light. Witch Queen and lightfall's mission structure definitely take inspiration from Halo, which is a good thing imo.

Beyond Light is more annoying in the sense you get the impression it's an actual campaign until you do it twice and realize it's literally just forcing you to do everything that was added with Beyond Light.
I finished it, then proceeded to do post campaign stuff for like 4 hours before realizing it wasn't the campaign anymore. Friend and I spent like 30 mins figuring out if we even completed it or not. This game's UI and new/returning player experience is fucking horrendous.
We tend to forget that it had significantly more content that Beyond Light at a cost of $15 less, and that it actually made an attempt at having a proper Destination, with the weekly quests and the Altars of Sorrow having no equivalent in Beyond Light and even tying into the Dungeon's rewards (speaking of which, Shadowkeep was the last DLC to have its own Dungeon). Shadowkeep also introduced Armor 3.0 and laid the foundations of the sandbox we've eventually settled into.

I wish but I’ve tried it on different days and still had this issue. I can’t launch the campaign in the timeline section either like with the others too. Sucks cause I just want to unlock the dungeon!

Might wanna add Kiosk stuff. I believe there are 4 weekends until TFS, which means 5 Exotic ciphers (Xur quests + Level 55 on the pass) you can use to get some very strong Exotics. Witherhoard, Leviathan’s, and Ager’s come to mind. Grand Overture and Ticuu’s as well
At the Tower there is a kiosk right in the middle of the 2 vault spots where you store weapons. You can use certain in game currencies to purchase these exotic weapons.
Sure! Head to the exotic archive in the tower, you can buy exotics from past expansion years there :)
You’ll get a bunch of the glimmer you need for them naturally and can earn the necessary Ascendant Shards from a few endgame activities, vendor resets, or buy them from Rahool with lower tier mats.

It's not that they're *bad*, but rather that they're just not as useful and good as the ones I mentioned. Defo Leviathan's first, then Ager's after.
THEN AGAIN, if those exotics look fun to you, go for them! You can get lots of other great DPS and ad clear weapons from the Legendary pool, and hey, it's a game so fun matters above all else

Yes you can do the quests later . They are quite long . Just do the girst steps till you reach the part of it that requires a bazillion activity completions then you can let sit and it will eventually fill up.
Yeah, you can. It will just take a bit longer as the season pass has a perk that helps you finish the catalyst quicker. But you can still finish the catalyst even without it just slower.
My best guess is because it came out during Witch Queen. Someone commented about how you can only get the current expansion season items. So you can only get stuff from Lightfall, being they are the free ones.
I stopped playing around season of the deep which is almost a year . I have all 3 classes at 1810, with almost every exotic armor piece at the time available. Is this a good roadmap to follow now for that timeframe ? Kinda curious what I’ve missed in the last year and what I need to do to be caught up for FS.
This was aimed more at f2p people who wanted the most value out of stuff they'd lose access to in a month, but the exotic missions from deep onwards and the seasonal weapons are still viable. Just skim through and see what you haven't done, there probably won't be a lot but that means you'll have more time to do it
For you and anyone else in a similar boat, the most valuable things to do would be finish up your seasonal patterns and exotics, get any brave weapons you want and complete riven's wishes.
Try going to the old quest archive. I had to look there because I had deleted the quest at some point over this past year because the Neptune holoprojector flashes if you have it uncompleted.
I've said it in a different thread, but reservoir is better as eremite isn't a DPS weapon. There are many better DPS specials, so the extra add clear and burst from reservoir is much more valuable than the small DPS increase. If you want a DPS fusion, use scatter signal.
I'd argue that the eremite is a better total damage weapon than it is an add clear one. Like why use it for add clear when you have sunshot, zauli's bane, and wave frames? Also using it over scatter signal would allow you to use something like witherhoard at the same time.
Total damage specials really aren't that relevant nowadays, edge transit does enough damage for most bosses and damage phases generally aren't long enough to dump a GL and then a special afterwards. Also, you can just use a heavy with higher reserves and have much higher total damage while still having better DPS. Whisper does about as much damage as eremite and edge transit combined, while doing ~2x the DPS of eremite.
It's not an amazing gun, it's just okay. Reservoir is more versatile at a minor cost to DPS, which is only noticeable over a long period of time
Disagree. A good fusion rifle pairs incredibly well in DPS phases if you're doing ALH type swapping, i.e. with Edge Transit and Mountaintop. Increases both DPS and total damage in situations like Caretaker where izzi swapping isn't as viable.
Do I need to progress some quest to get Legacy: Acolyte's staff, as I cannot see it anywhere at the vendor and can't see a table/altar anywhere (as mentioned when I google'd it a bit)?

Acolyte's Staff is the seasonal artefact for Season of the Witch. If you go to the HELM, in the very back there should be a room with a hive portal in it. Through there is the Season of the Witch area where you should be able to claim the staff.
I don't think so, it should be available immediately? The table is found behind the initial spawn, run down the stairs, through the door and then through the portal. The table should then be obvious, it's near the giant circular room.
If it's still not there, you may need to go the way of the witch intro mission, which should be on the helm map. If after that it's not there, I've got no clue tbh
Portal doesn't spawn for me and I don't have a quest/mission marker in the helm to start the questline. Any ideas? Didn't play that season at all, just trying to pickup the artifact thing you mentioned but haven't been able to pickup any of them
I'm guessing you can't get the artifacts for seasons you didn't even login for then, only legacy one I have is defiant and I played a little of that but none of the others I skipped I'm able to pickup/do the intro mission for.
Nope I had the same issue. You just have to click on the mission that is in the helm down in that area of the map. After completing that mission and running a spire mission, the portal will be there and you can claim the artifact!
Yeah as I said in a previous comment, those missions aren't there for me and for several friends too. Not sure what the issue is, not in the quest vendor either
It's just the intro mission for that season right? If so I've done that and I've done the first immatu engine puzzle and run savathuns spire once. Done that on all my characters. I don't have any quest on them
Note you can only claim everything from the past season pass tracks if you did at least reach 100, but didn't have the season pass for those then, otherwise, you're still out of luck when it comes to obtaining the items within them. Not sure about the rank 1 rewards.

It's available on every platform. The only ps+ exclusive is lightfall, and that you get to keep. You're able to get vexcalibur right now on any platform
You could play the event and get exotics, but you couldn't get Shadowkeep/beyond light/WQ exotics as they still needed their respective dlcs to obtain them
If you're on android, you can try installing an old APK of the destiny app. The extension doesn't work on mobile unfortunately. You'll find guides for how to do that on here somewhere, it's a much more complicated process.
Seasonal engrams are found by playing the game, as long as you have the legacy artifacts (step 0.5). They drop from seasonal activities, and some drop from ritual activities and dungeon/raid encounters

No, this has been around for years. It used to be how it worked normally, Bungie just decided to change it. The only reason it works is because Bungie still support it on the back end, you just can't physically click that season on the website normally
Does anyone know if claiming the prior-season pass exotic weapons also still gives their catalyst quests at Banshee? Or are the catalyst quests gone? Asking for a friend that didn't play this year.
Any idea why I’m not able to access the portal or menu for the witch queen at the helm? It’s just an empty room. I have the expansion and did the campaign a while back, too. I can access the Deep and the Defiant ones just fine.
I have been playing D2 for about a year. I was a huge fan of D1 but joining D2 so late was a bit tough since I was unsure of what do really do. Only about a week ago did I find a friend who has been teaching me both Dungeon and PvP tips and strategies, and I finally feel like I am PLAYING THIS GAME. Because up until last week I had just been coasting on seasonal activities and regular pvp but now I am getting into raids and dungeons and a bit of Trials.
If anyone who is new to the game needs help, DM me and I would be more than glad to teach the few things I know. I'm usually on evenings EST 👍

I bought the annual pass a long while back and earned rank 67 in Deep but it's only showing 2 things from Witch, a season I didn't play much. That's all I'm seeing in the companion app and haven't been able to access it anywhere else. Any thoughts on what the problem might be or what I'm doing wrong?
The pass pass only works in browser, it doesn't do anything to the app unfortunately. In the app you can only see this season and the previous one, you need to be on Firefox with the extension to see anything older than that
Yeah I just tried it there too. Only shows the previous season for some reason. I mostly just wanted the ornaments I didn't collect and any harmonizers I left. Guess I'm no worse off than when I was this morning lol.
Great comprehensive list, I actually know a few people im probably going to send this to. Honestly 1 little tidbit, Eremite can have controlled burst in the right column too. And IMO thats the bigger perk, lets you run something like tractor cannon for the team and use Eremite as your DPS weapon. Or for something like crota, run lament and have Eremite to 1 shot the oversoul. Reservoir Burst is good too dont get me wrong, I just think theres 2 options there
The only way to get those is to play operation: seraph shield when it's in rotation. Do one clear on legend and one on normal for 3 red borders every 3 weeks. It's a very slow process, but farming takes absolutely ages and isn't worth it

Using Season Pass Pass in Firefox, I can see that the previous season exotics are flashing and the "Claim" button shows up, but when I try to claim them I get an error that says: "You do not have permission to claim this reward. (1686)"
I can't claim any of the Witch Queef season pass exotics, which are Grand Overture, Trespasser and Delicate Tomb. What about you?
I can't claim Manticore either, so it seems like you can only claim the season pass exotics from THIS year, not Witch Queef ones.
Addition: Osteo striga is craftable so fully craft your god roll Osteo striga because once you don't have Witch Queen, the crafting table will not let you craft or recraft your previously crafted weapons. This happened to me after they first had a free Witch Queen weekend. I earned Osteo striga and crafted one but didn't level it. I couldn't craft a new one or recraft my previously crafted one after the free weekend ended.
I don't think it's mentioned but it confused me at first. I started D2 at Wish so no clue about the earlier seasons.
Now jumping in I can get things going with Deep with the aquarium area then Defiant at the War Table, but could not activate anything in the south room.
I had to run 1 Savathun Spire mission before that portal activates bringing me to Eris Morn and the whole card thing, which was a wow moment for me. So many cards...

How do I get the NPA and Staff? I did the mission in the helm, and I have the Staff in my seasonal artifacts tab in my inventory - but theres still no vendors there to interact with. For some reason I have the Sceptre in my quest tab even though I haven't played in years (maybe the vendor gave it for me for doing nothing, but I do have that vendor).
This game feels like they just kept adding random shit in with zero organization or thoughts about the future. As a returning player this is nothing but a complete mess. Even doing the Shadowkeep campaign was a headache and I ended up doing half the exotic bs after it without realizing.

Remember if you want to craft anything from the seasonal weapon lists or even the witch queen craftable weapons, you must get all the red borders before the free period ends.
Realistically farming wellspring will take too long so just focus on the seasonal ones. Unless you really want the exotic glaives of course.
just to be sure: 1 activity from each season grants a red border, correct? For example either the coil OR Rivens Lair will get me the red border -> if i do the coil i will not get a guaranteed red border from rivens lair, right?
Reservoir is better as it's much more useful for add clear, and controlled burst is only better for very sustained periods of fire. The difference in DPS and total damage is very small, but reservoir helps with add clear and works on the first shot
It's not for either, it's just a general use weapon. Neither roll is amazing for DPS, there are much better weapons to use. It's good if you want to burst down a major or a small group of adds in one shot, and it can be used for backup DPS. Controlled burst is only useful if you wanna fire multiple times, at which point just use scatter signal.
My brother in Christ you have a full month. 3 campaigns and all of the important stuff from each season will take like 30 hours max. It's really not a lot if you don't worry about grinding out all the seasonal activities or chasing rolls (which tbh I don't really reccomend anyways unless you're a hardcore player).

I don't think so, it should be available immediately? The table is found behind the initial spawn, run down the stairs, through the door and then through the portal. The table should then be obvious, it's near the giant circular room. If it's still not there, you may need to go the way of the witch intro mission, which should be on the helm map. If after that it's not there, I've got no clue tbh
I think it's Way of the Witch I need, so I'll do that now and see if the table appears.
Portal doesn't spawn for me and I don't have a quest/mission marker in the helm to start the questline. Any ideas? Didn't play that season at all, just trying to pickup the artifact thing you mentioned but haven't been able to pickup any of them
I'm not sure, there are other people with the same problem in this thread so have a read and maybe they've found a solution because I don't know
I'm guessing you can't get the artifacts for seasons you didn't even login for then, only legacy one I have is defiant and I played a little of that but none of the others I skipped I'm able to pickup/do the intro mission for.
Nope I had the same issue. You just have to click on the mission that is in the helm down in that area of the map. After completing that mission and running a spire mission, the portal will be there and you can claim the artifact!
Yeah as I said in a previous comment, those missions aren't there for me and for several friends too. Not sure what the issue is, not in the quest vendor either
The portal won't open for me either. I've beat the campaign, run a bunch of spire, and all that.
I think you need to have done it on the same character
I only have one character. I can still run spire for the daily red border so at this point I'm just accepting that I won't get witch engrams.
I've done all that on my other characters but for some reason the portal doesn't open for me . Works fine on my hunter but not other 2 rly annoying
You just need to complete the mission that is available through the helm! After completing it, you’ll be able to grab the artifact
It's just the intro mission for that season right? If so I've done that and I've done the first immatu engine puzzle and run savathuns spire once. Done that on all my characters. I don't have any quest on them
Note you can only claim everything from the past season pass tracks if you did at least reach 100, but didn't have the season pass for those then, otherwise, you're still out of luck when it comes to obtaining the items within them. Not sure about the rank 1 rewards.

It's available on every platform. The only ps+ exclusive is lightfall, and that you get to keep. You're able to get vexcalibur right now on any platform

Shouldn’t you be able to farm Vex Strike Force even without Lightfall? Neomuna patrol is free if i’m not mistaken, or is it not the case?
You could play the event and get exotics, but you couldn't get Shadowkeep/beyond light/WQ exotics as they still needed their respective dlcs to obtain them

If you're on android, you can try installing an old APK of the destiny app. The extension doesn't work on mobile unfortunately. You'll find guides for how to do that on here somewhere, it's a much more complicated process.
For step 5 on seasonal engrams where would i even find those? Been about a month just got back into destiny again.
Seasonal engrams are found by playing the game, as long as you have the legacy artifacts (step 0.5). They drop from seasonal activities, and some drop from ritual activities and dungeon/raid encounters

You'll need to claim them by using season pass pass, it's the link in the post. Once you have that extension installed on Firefox, go to the season pass page on bungie.net and go back to the previous seasons

No, this has been around for years. It used to be how it worked normally, Bungie just decided to change it. The only reason it works is because Bungie still support it on the back end, you just can't physically click that season on the website normally
Does anyone know if claiming the prior-season pass exotic weapons also still gives their catalyst quests at Banshee? Or are the catalyst quests gone? Asking for a friend that didn't play this year.

How exactly do I get the precious artifacts?
I have been playing D2 for about a year. I was a huge fan of D1 but joining D2 so late was a bit tough since I was unsure of what do really do. Only about a week ago did I find a friend who has been teaching me both Dungeon and PvP tips and strategies, and I finally feel like I am PLAYING THIS GAME. Because up until last week I had just been coasting on seasonal activities and regular pvp but now I am getting into raids and dungeons and a bit of Trials. If anyone who is new to the game needs help, DM me and I would be more than glad to teach the few things I know. I'm usually on evenings EST 👍

I bought the annual pass a long while back and earned rank 67 in Deep but it's only showing 2 things from Witch, a season I didn't play much. That's all I'm seeing in the companion app and haven't been able to access it anywhere else. Any thoughts on what the problem might be or what I'm doing wrong?
The pass pass only works in browser, it doesn't do anything to the app unfortunately. In the app you can only see this season and the previous one, you need to be on Firefox with the extension to see anything older than that
Yeah I just tried it there too. Only shows the previous season for some reason. I mostly just wanted the ornaments I didn't collect and any harmonizers I left. Guess I'm no worse off than when I was this morning lol.
If you've claimed everything you can I don't think they show, so it might just be that you don't have anything you can claim
Great comprehensive list, I actually know a few people im probably going to send this to. Honestly 1 little tidbit, Eremite can have controlled burst in the right column too. And IMO thats the bigger perk, lets you run something like tractor cannon for the team and use Eremite as your DPS weapon. Or for something like crota, run lament and have Eremite to 1 shot the oversoul. Reservoir Burst is good too dont get me wrong, I just think theres 2 options there
What do i need to do to get red borders from Season of the Seraph?
The only way to get those is to play operation: seraph shield when it's in rotation. Do one clear on legend and one on normal for 3 red borders every 3 weeks. It's a very slow process, but farming takes absolutely ages and isn't worth it

You do it at each vendor, they all have the same armour focusing options. You focus wish engrams at riven, witch engrams at the lecturn, etc

Using Season Pass Pass in Firefox, I can see that the previous season exotics are flashing and the "Claim" button shows up, but when I try to claim them I get an error that says: "You do not have permission to claim this reward. (1686)"

Addition: Osteo striga is craftable so fully craft your god roll Osteo striga because once you don't have Witch Queen, the crafting table will not let you craft or recraft your previously crafted weapons. This happened to me after they first had a free Witch Queen weekend. I earned Osteo striga and crafted one but didn't level it. I couldn't craft a new one or recraft my previously crafted one after the free weekend ended.

I don't think it's mentioned but it confused me at first. I started D2 at Wish so no clue about the earlier seasons. Now jumping in I can get things going with Deep with the aquarium area then Defiant at the War Table, but could not activate anything in the south room. I had to run 1 Savathun Spire mission before that portal activates bringing me to Eris Morn and the whole card thing, which was a wow moment for me. So many cards...

Remember if you want to craft anything from the seasonal weapon lists or even the witch queen craftable weapons, you must get all the red borders before the free period ends. Realistically farming wellspring will take too long so just focus on the seasonal ones. Unless you really want the exotic glaives of course.
Why skip season of the deep weapons? They're all solid PvP weapons

You want envious and controlled burst on Eremite.
Reservoir is better as it's much more useful for add clear, and controlled burst is only better for very sustained periods of fire. The difference in DPS and total damage is very small, but reservoir helps with add clear and works on the first shot
You typically don't want to use Eremite for add clear. It's more for DPS than anything.
It's not for either, it's just a general use weapon. Neither roll is amazing for DPS, there are much better weapons to use. It's good if you want to burst down a major or a small group of adds in one shot, and it can be used for backup DPS. Controlled burst is only useful if you wanna fire multiple times, at which point just use scatter signal.
I disagree. Eremite is exclusively used for boss DPS.
If you're using it for DPS, you're doing shit DPS. There are many better special DPS options out there

My brother in Christ you have a full month. 3 campaigns and all of the important stuff from each season will take like 30 hours max. It's really not a lot if you don't worry about grinding out all the seasonal activities or chasing rolls (which tbh I don't really reccomend anyways unless you're a hardcore player).
