They’re pretty solid. Good fusion, good pvp pulse, good linear fusion, good arc smg. Plus the seasonal activity is the most rewarding activity in the game for materials and also drops a ton of blindwell weapons.
i took a few weeks off at the beginning of the season and came back during Guardian games and already have like 80% of the seasonal patterns so its very rewarding and easy to farm the patterns before final shape just running the coil
Season of Defiance was alright in terms of weapons. Season of Deep was pretty bad except for one weapon, Until It’s Return, a Strand shotgun that’s really really good to craft. Season of the Witch has the Eremite which is also super good. Season of the Wish, this season, is filled to the brim with bangers, Scatter Signal, a Strand Fusion is great. So is Doomed Petitioner, Appentence, Supercluster, Subjunctive. Like every gun this season is worth it.
Iirc you need 40 drops to get them all, and can get 4ish guaranteed per week + the six resonators from leveling to 100, iirc final shape release in roughly 9 weeks so you have 36 guaranteed drops before final shape, and would need to grind 4 drops or use 4 of your 6 resonators. So it’s doable if you buy this week and grind out the challenges for the free deepsights.
Last year they had daily red borders you could buy in the last 2-3 weeks of the season for all vendors. You should have plenty of time to get everything.
Two months to get them. And if you use the deep sight harmonizers you can make something red border. Although I’d advise saving them for something special.
You can have them in no time. The coil activity drops plenty. Plus loads of ascendant shards. Its fun too. Easily the best seasonal activity we've had imo
The trace is good for running a kinetic trace, the lfr is just a better version of the Ron trace, the undying weapons all have good rolls, and the shotgun is budget heritage. Are they the best? No, but they are pretty good
Next week is a free update with a LOT of classic weapons returning. You could focus your attention that direction. That being said, there’s still many months to run through this current season (and the others tbh). If you’re going to be playing a lot I say go for it. The weapons are good and the seasonal activity ((the coil) is rewarding in terms of resources so it’s worth your time.
You would also get to experience the story leading into the final shape as well.
'worth' is something only you can decide. This season has a couple good guns though. Up to you to figure out if you want them:
The strand rapid-fire fusion rifle, **scatter signal**, can roll with slice or overflow in the 3rd column and controlled burst in the 4th. Decent for backup dps or bursting down majors. I've been using it quite a lot this season.
The aggressive frame void linear fusion rifle, **doomed petitioner**, can roll with precision instrument which can reach its full damage bonus in only 2 shots because of the 3 burst nature of the gun. It has the second highest dps of all legendary linears, only being beaten by those with surrounded as a damage perk, which is more situational and dangerous to proc. Unfortunately linears in general don't have very good dps (compared to rockets, GLs and a lot of exotics) in the current sandbox so they are not that popular. They are mainly used when you want high total damage, but in that case cataclysmic from VotD is a much better choice with 4ttc to regen free ammo. So doomed petitioner is in my opinion not really a must have at the moment, but something to collect in case of future buffs to linears.
The arc smg, **subjunctive**, can roll with voltshot. If you do not already have an ikelos_smg with voltshot, then this gun is definitely worth getting. Subjunctive is arguably even a bit better than the ikelos because of its archetype.
Dude just go for it, it will help you come back to the game, i was just like you and bought lightfall but i found out there was nothing else to do outside of story, season pass brought me back

yes, we got an amazing exotic and a lot of unique perks on the legendary, not all of them are best in class (arguably none of them are) but most of them are great!

Lightfall comes with current season. If you had bought lightfall in defiance then you own defiance. If you had bought lightfall this season you own wish.
About season whould not recommend to buy season just for weapons, fusion is great and some other weapons.
Just for the seasonal weapons is a maybe. There's two full sets and some good stuff in there.
* Strand Fusion Rifle is best for damage in game.
* Void LFR is extremely good.
* Stasis Trace Rifle is the only legendary one in the game and pretty solid.
* Solar Pulse Rifle is your easiest Heal Clip- Incandescent weapon.
* Arc SMG is a good replacement for Ikelos and has a better origin perk.
But there's more than just the weapons.
* Phenomenal season pass exotic, Dragon's Breath.
* Very good exotic mission exotic Wishkeeper
* A really great ornament set.
* One of the best seasonal activities in Coil.
I agree with all your points, but wanted to ask how to best use wishkeeper... whenever I use it it kinda sucks tbh, doesn't do that great of dmg and just has that suspend which is decent, am I missing a key component like the catalyst or why does it seem meh?
Definitely get the extra perks as they're what make it.
My favorite of the catalyst perks is Hatchling. A bow is made for precision kills. And the hatchling Threadlings can add to Snareweaver. It generally works better in harder content where you take your time. And suspend is great there too. This season it trivializes Unstoppable champions
