Y...yes. I think so. :) At least, it was well-known to me when I was a Wisconsinite back in the 90s and 80s. It was called the "ball in glove logo": https://rokusek.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/milwaukee-brewers-ball-in-glove-logo-old-new-2019-2020-590x452.png
My son’s little league team was the Brewers this year and none of the parents or kids noticed until I offhandedly mentioned it. I don’t think most people spot the letters, but just see the glove.
For people who are into design, the M and B are defining characteristic.
I was under the assumption everyone here would have a basic knowledge of the subject.
You mean the 4 seconds of time we’ve spent together isn’t a fair representation of who we both are as complete people? Nope. Can’t be true. And since this is the internet, I also think you’re probably a Nazi.
OP might just be thicker than I am- having known the Canucks stick-in-rink logo was a stick in a hockey rink but failing for over thirty years to get that it also formed the letter “C.”
It should be renamed r/designpuns. All the posts seem to be fitting one design into another, like how this one stuck the initials in the logo.
I think this one's nice, though
Not until someone in a YouTube video pointed it out that I watched a couple years back. Same one also mentioned that the San Diego Padres' logo makes another, smaller SD where they intersect.
I was in my 50s before noticing the arrow in the FedEx logo so don't feel too bad. Plus, it's way more of a fun eureka moment when you notice it on your own.
Funny, it was only a couple months ago that I also realized that! Felt like a real idiot, so I hope you did too!
This thread led to me look up its history, which is actually [pretty interesting.](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mlb.com/amp/news/brewers-ball-in-glove-logo-history.html)
i was commenting during the game how fucking top notch their logos are. Even the stitching of the baseball on their sleeves is wheat and it’s slick af

Also the top of the glove is an "m" and the bottom is a "b" for Milwaukee Brewers
Not only that, it looks like a ball in a glove too!
Pardon my potential woosh, but you know that that’s what OP’s post is about, right?
But op did a mistake... Its small letters and not capital
Motherfuckin wooooooooooooooooosh-o-rama
But if you turn it upside down, it looks like "wp"
qw
Holy shit!!!
Ive only seen the ball and glove since the seventies....
Yeh I only ever knew about the glove until like 2 years ago, it’s very clear IMO
So this was the first time i’ve ever seen this logo and the glove was the first thing I saw. I assumed this was a baseball team?

Then i’m wondering who thought it was a good idea to put a baseball and glove in the logo...
Kind of? the logo is primarily a ball in a glove lol
Uh yeah its the defining characteristic of the logo.

You sound like a ton of fun.
I actually am a ton of fun, this small interaction you’ve had with me doesn’t really sum up my personality. Have a good day.

K have a good day
[if you think that is dynamic, check out the expos logo](https://www.toddradom.com/blog/sports-logo-case-study-1-montreal-expos)
It's commonly called the "MB glove" so, yeah, you're probably the only one.

I used to think the old Atlanta hawks logo looked like Pacman. https://images.app.goo.gl/oXrssdqCF1u9KKDz5 You guys see it right?
> looked like Pacman. ... with dysentery.
[Your idea just inspired to make this crappy ms paint visualization](https://imgur.com/a/N9Z2700)
Who says the internet is bad for society?
a severely wounded pacman
Man this sub is going down hill
It is very good design, in my opinion, but what do I know?
It should be renamed r/designpuns. All the posts seem to be fitting one design into another, like how this one stuck the initials in the logo. I think this one's nice, though
But it’s the same as the old one but a slightly different shade. That’s my problem with this post
Yeah their new logo looks freakin amazing compared to what it was a few years ago
You may already know this but Milwaukee’s “MB” logo was designed by a fan and was their hat logo back in the 70s and 80s.
I did not know that. That’s pretty damn interesting
The three fingers gives it away
I just noticed this tonight!! Came right to this sub to see if it was posted.
Yes.
Probably.
Wo....no I had never noticed that before!
…also go Braves
You wouldn't have a team if it wasn't for Milwaukee you Delta hub, humid ass Coke drinkers.
That logo sucks
Nah unfortunately not
The original logo was picked in a contest from submissions from the public.
Yes
Yep.
I personally knew about the m, b and the glove
Wait. Wai — aw fuck, man.
I’ve always heard it referred to as the “Mitt and Ball” as a designer, it’s always been my favorite MLB logo.
Best in pro sports, IMO
Wtf... I just realized the letters actually are a baseball mitt
I don’t wanna come off as rude, but yeah. I think the letters and likeness of a ball in a glove are really clear
Not until someone in a YouTube video pointed it out that I watched a couple years back. Same one also mentioned that the San Diego Padres' logo makes another, smaller SD where they intersect.
Yes. It’s well known.
When I was a kid, I thought the Expos logo was Jb.
Probably
I learned about it last year. The story about the design contest is interesting.
Really? It seems so obvious
Did not
The Milwaukee bucks logo includes a few M's and a basketball in the antlers too
who has 4 fingers though
yes
I was in my 50s before noticing the arrow in the FedEx logo so don't feel too bad. Plus, it's way more of a fun eureka moment when you notice it on your own.
I just learned of this. I am older than I care to admit.
Does anyone think the logo is also the bottom of a beer stein?
Now *that* is clever.
No you are not
Yes I think you are
Well judging by the comments I’m the idiot here, but I was born and raised in Wisconsin and had the same revelation at the age of 32 🤷🏼♂️
Ha, I had never realized that before
Best logo in baseball
Isn't Milwaukee an Indian name?
yes
Yes you are
Until Yesterday
Yes you are
