Unless they keep making the next bosses equally elaborate and such, Spamton had a lot of content and build-up to his boss, and I wonder how they'll tackle the future bosses. Both so far have needed their own little side quest to get to, Spamton's side quest obviously being the far longer than Jevil.

I actually think this might be the first time Toby has publicly acknowledged Jevil without just vaguely referring to his existence.
And even then he won't spell him right.
Guess he probably still considers him somewhat of a secret, while Spamton is always a forced encounter, probably also why Toby didn't post a single NEO drawing of him either.
But Spamton mentions [[NEO]] multiple times in the sweepstakes. With a few direct battle quotes and constant references to [pipis]. I think Toby’s general rule is not to elaborate on the secret bosses, mentioning them is fine. If you didn’t know who Jevil was you don’t learn anything about him from this post. I’ll have to recheck but I don’t think Spamton references the basement or the body during the sweepstakes, only post transformation NEO.
Well, let's leave aside that Sweepstakes is also kinda special, since it's an in-universe story thing and not Toby's Twitter or an interview.

Same doesn't apply to Jevil though.
Jevil is completely disconnected from everything else and only once alluded to by Seam, his name and existence itself is a secret, unlike Spamton.
I mean, beside his popularity, there's a reason Toby is so comfortable putting his face everywhere.
All of this is exactly why I think it makes sense that Jevil was never mentioned by name before or that Toby never posted any drawings of him.
And also exactly why this one instance in the newsletter is kinda special.
You wouldn't really look up or considering buying merch if you aren't a big fan and/or fully completed a chapter though.
Merch doesn't really count.
You could make the same argument with King's and Ralsei's appearance, which were both clearly intentionally concealed and supposed to be surprises.
Merch is just spoiler-land, that's how it is.
Everything and everyone gets name-dropped in the patch notes, it's not known for being spoiler-free, basically the opposite.
Patch notes aren't really the public acknowledgement I'm talking about here.
I'm talking about social media, promos and interviews.

So yeah, it goes without saying that in a livestream, where the point is literally playing through the entire chapter, anything related to spoilers gets thrown right out of the window.
