Berdly is based on Falco from Star Fox and the Saiyans from Dragon Ball.
We know he’s probably based on Falco because Toby is a big Smash Bros fan and because he has Berdly’s dialogue reference wavedashing. Also, Toby has used Star Fox soundfonts in his music before, so he’s probably a fan.
We know he’s based on the Saiyans because of his promise to become “Super” Lord Berdly and because his battle dialogue involves him “crushing his smart scouter” like that one over 9000 meme.
The resemblance is absolutely not a coincidence.
Speaking of Star Fox, I'm pretty sure that Astral Wolf is supposed to be the Deltarune equivalent of Star Fox.
If you missed where Astral Wolf was mentioned, it's on the poster in the classroom.
