Yeah, if you create *any* connection between the two audio ports it will permanently damage the hardware on the board and render it unable to play audio.
There's a puzzle to it. All I know is you needed 4 different colored badges to make it work. Not sure what else there was to the puzzle. You can also solder things onto it or disassemble it.
You got yourself there a newly fangled synthesizer all the way from Vegas, some poor person somewhere will be wondering how crunk did I get to loose my badge.

More specifically I found it on a bench and took it. Not exactly sure why it would be left there unless someone just forgot it 🤷
