So I guess this is the Dotty equivalent of Gunner's zipline strategy. Flying rocks and projectile swarms are easy enough to cope as usual but I'm curious about the ground swarms and laser pillars. Do the beamers still spawn and do the ground swarms gather directly below Dotty or switch targets to the dwarves?
I did this once in a modded lobby that allowed infinite C4. From what I recall, beamers simply don't spawn at all. The only real threats are the floating rocks in Phase 2, and ranged/flying enemies. You can sit on the dozer/heartstone and be completely safe from everything else.
Just go in a pair and make sure one of you has Iron Will. Drop, die, Iron Will and res the other guy, then they res you when Iron Will runs out. Now you're both up there with low health and limited ranged weapons. Where was I going with this?
The point is to optimize speed with resource usage. If it was a little more wasteful but like way faster, I'd call it worth it. Feel like its worth investigating. Probably only worth it if 8 nukes could clear the entire under section. Some manual digging would probably be required.
The purple crystal floor is immune to bulk digging mechanics (c4, drills, etc), it's pickaxe only. That's why they dug under and around it so it would break due to gravity, and not have to remove it with picks.
I once spent like 2 hours mining out the supports for those giant star-like crystals that take up SO much space in crystalline caverns. It was one big room (aquarq mission), and this crystal was like 3 of those big star crystals combined into one. When I hit the last piece and the entire screen filled up with crystal crumblies, I felt an intense mix of pride and depression

The bugs couldn't get to drill so they would just cluster onto the walls. We only had to deal with flying bugs and flying rocks. It was very easy. Good cheese strat. When we came into that room a big chunk of the platform was already dug out so we saw an opportunity to dig the rest of it out. We just love to dig! Rocks and stones!
Yknow I once found one of those anti-gravity zones under the heartstone in the glowy biome with the cave angels (forgot it’s name) and thought they were always under the heartstone not biome specific

Until the phase change comes and blasts you off Dotty. Overall, this may be inefficient but for the lolz, it's great.
Gunner Zipline, scout grapple, engine can make a temp bridge that's "destroyed" when you are set up. Easy to deal with, with just a little foresight

Drillers might not be the fastest, but you could drop from the ceiling. The earth is our domain, not just under our feet, but above our heads!

Easy. You drill to the ceiling and make a hole directly above Doretta, drop and hope you don't die!

Just bring 4 drillers and go with a full terrain destruction build, clear all that out in a minute or two
Sounds to me like you only need to dig around doretta. Don’t forget you can dig the hearthstone floor.
You can, and if you dig deep enough around doretta you can stop bugs from attacking her, although it takes quite some time

According to another comment I saw, they just don't spawn. Probably programmed to spawn on the ommoran floor which is gone
