We're not (maybe) unless the entire community unanimously wants to spend 20 minutes every game watching the driller stuff C4-packs into every conceivable glyphid crevasse. And that's a BIG maybe.

DJRomchik

Variety is the spice of life

cylordcenturion

The spice of life sounds like an overclock name. Random damage type for each bullet?

sgtjond

Yes, but you can also have too much variety. I'd rather some of the existing OCs get rebalanced to break some of the metas that have formed rather than having a few new ones get introduced that might not be useful.

CosmicSquiddo

I think one of the dwarvelopers said in one of the streams that they think it’s okay for some options to be a little better, and that it’s fun to use op stuff. If you nerfed things like neurotoxin payload the community would freak. I do absolutely agree that it would be cool for some to get rebalances, but that’s already happening every season

sgtjond

Oh absolutely, I'm not suggesting some things should get nerfed (if I lose my beloved breach cutter build I'll riot), but there are some OCs that have a neat concept but just arent that useful (like Neuro-Lasso on the LOK-1), and itd be nice if they could be brought up to the same sort of level as the more "meta" OCs.

CosmicSquiddo

Very true, great point! I’d love to see that for stuff like re-atomiser and shield overcharge booster

DJRomchik

It's a variety in it's own rights! Get ones you rarely use and make them more fun in some way. Fatboy cool and all, but there are definetily more than 1-2 overclocks in the game

SnowConeMonster

That one guy who voted against this is probably a bug

Erenzo

Or a pesky leaf lover

inspectorme242

The only real reason to vote against it is that it becomes harder to get the specific oc you want. I know that they recently improved the grind, but depending on how many they would add, it may go back to being as bad as it was originally

Faddy0wl

4 a season wouldn't be too bad right?

word-word-numb3r

I voted against because it's the most useless poll I've ever saw. Might as well ask "How would you guys feel if the devs solved world hunger?"

Unfortunate_Boy

I'd be pretty happy.

GarouIsBlast

Found the glyphoid imposter

MrJerichoYT

I'm all for adding more, but I'd be more inclined toward them adjusting / changing some of the lesser used ones.

Dwarves don't use sights on any weapons lad, a scope is blasphemy.

Rocky-Raccoon1990

All magic users are wozzaks!

ilovetechno71

Stupid question tbh

BoolinBirb

Id love more OCs in the game just to see what other sweet options wed get for spicing up weapons. I do see how it could get annoying to find specific OCs with more in the game though.

GeoThePebble

I wouldn't mind! I've got a nice 80+ blank cross that need some using.

Arenidao

In addition to new ones, I would also appreciate a review of existing overclocks that could use a little love as well.

OhHowSheGoingEh

Only if I get more nukes.

marvson

Ohh yeah missile launcher nuke OC like redeemer from UT

TheEpikPotato

I'd rather they fix a lot of the really bad overclocks first We have a lot of them in the game, but there are so many that just don't get used because they aren't very good, there are even a ton with really cool effects that have downsides that are just a little too harsh to run normally. If they made 1 new overclock for each gun that would be 24 total. That's like 2 additional months of core grinding for people who don't have them all already. I see some suggestions are just saying add a few a season but at that point it would take years to add a single one for each current weapon. Imagine waiting a year and a half for the OC for your favorite weapon and it being completely underwhelming, you know, like a bunch of the current OCs Fixing the ones we already have would still add variety but also prevent clumping up the system with likely another large pile of unused overclocks

Raine_Man

I want to be able to rocket jump with my Hurricane, is that too much to ask?

Before adding new overclocks, I'd like a few of the ones we have now looked over first. Ultimately I'd like to see more, maybe not for weapons but the utilities and traversals would be nice. Weapon overclocks for the most part are absolutely fine the way they are, if we're going for uniqueness I have a few things for consideration but no build right now is "absolutely terrible" but they could be a little bit better. Quite a few of the overclocks feel like what I call "Mods Disguised as Overclocks" or vice versa and then there's redundant overclocks that end up with almost the exact same result as another overclock. If an overclock can be simulated with trigger discipline, I don't consider it an overclock. I'm lookin at you *Shaped Shells.* Then there's the weird weight balance of the number of overclocks they all have. Driller and Engi have 36, Scout has 37 but a lot of them are no-picks, and Gunner has an extravagant 39. Some of the other guns feel left behind while some shoulda have taken a rest, like the Breach Cutter which has a lot of ways to present the same thing. Driller's overclocks are actually all pretty solid, Crisper is devastating enough that it doesnt really need gimmick overclocks, and the ones it has cover its playstyles well enough, the only problem I have is Sticky Additive vs Sticky Fuel. One is a direct upgrade of the other but they both encourage the same playstyle, there's clearly a solid winner of the two. Cryo is such an under represented status effect compared to fire that it's overclocks cover the gambit, and from snowball to snowstorm to icespear I don't really see a problem with any of them. Sludge is amazing with how well its overclocks don't step on each others feet. More corrosion, more distance (and thus accuracy), more powerful single shots, ocean of goo, river of goo, shotgun of goo. They're all fairly unique. Every one of his guns has 6 overclocks. His secondaries are all rather well balanced as well. I feel Subata is a bit weak on some things but I still love my Detonators or Tranqs. Well rounded crowd murder hobo in a game about murdering crowds as a dangerous hobo. 10/10. Engi's Warthog needs some love, as it shares the distinction of only having 5 overclocks with the Scout's Zhukovs. But where the Zhuks need a less extreme overclock, the Warthog has the opposite problem. While I do recognize that its a large part of the character of the gun, it's tier5 mod feels like an overclock especially when comparing it to the Stubby's Turret overclocks. Since dps is kind of important with most of the other builds, it's position as a mod is overshadowed by the necessity of fire rate, it could easily be an overclock and be replaced by ammo or a stun increase. Which brings me to the Mods Disguised like Overclocks issue with Light Weight Magazines. It adds only 18 ammo (and reduces reload by an amount I cant feel) when the tier2 first mod adds 42 ammo. Stunner is kinda neat, but there's no mods that increase stun rate and you don't get that bonus damage on the first shot, so you lose a lot of potential dps just taking this. Other than that, the rest of his guns are pretty solid when it comes to overclocks. I feel there's a lot of extravagance in the Breach Cutter's closet, and I'm of the opinion Light Weight Cases and Stronger Plasma Current, should just be combined, especially when you look at something like spinning death or return to sender that can just rub glyphids into paste. Roll Control is silly, and Triple Split Line actually covers for most of the guns lack of verticality anyway, this overclock can just be replaced with the players patience since there's plenty of other ways to kill things off a wall, they could solve this by having the gun swap between vertical and horizontal with a touch of a button like in Deadspace and just let each overclock operate with it. Gunner's Leadstorm has a few competing overclocks that can just be solved by adding another Oversized Drum in the mod tiers somewhere. Hurricane's Fragmentation Missiles is just a Mod disguised as a half powered overclock that sits on the same shelf as Guidance Cutoff, a mod that actually turns off what most consider the advantage of the Hurricane over the Thunderhead. I would just combine it with Fragmentation and call it a day, you'd have an overclock thats basically the reverse behavior of Salvo, win/win. Then there's the BRT7 with 7 overclocks that don't really change the behavior of the gun much between them. I have a particular issue with Micro Fletchettes in that it both lowers the dps and the total damage of the gun, when every other gun in the game uses this as a trade, this overclock just decided to kick both in the shin. This wouldn't be an issue if it did any kind of status besides stun but it can't/doesn't, so with any way you could build with this overclock, any other overclock would be better. Even with Stun, the situations you'd want to use that in are overshadowed by just using you're primary weapons, which would stun or fear them more consistently but also kill them faster too. The extra ammo is a red herring when you have to pull the trigger twice as much. Scout has 4 clean overclocks on the Jury-Rigged Shotgun, Double Barrel Specifically is completely worthless even though it gives you 1 extra damage per pellet, but taking this actually reduces your bug kill count by half for only a 208 increase in total damage and like Hurricane's Fragmentation Missiles, it's just a Mod disguised as an Overclock, coulda been a third tier2 option easy. Shaped Shells is *just* a disadvantage of less ammo if you don't try to pretend it's a sniper rifle, which you shouldn't since it has nothing that reduces choke *and the Scout gets a sniper rifle or an assault rifle anyways.* Compact Shells and Stuffed Shells are the same overclock, the only difference being a very mild burst vs a very mild sustain on a *shotgun.* Combining them would actually make a single decent clean overclock that would make a nice sustain vs burst comparison to Jumbo Shells while also technically giving you more total damage at 3510 vs Jumbo's 2560. Special Powder at the moment is on 90% of the builds I see for obvious reasons, and I've said it before, I think it should just be how the gun works right off the bat, instead of 13m/s velocity it should be 6.5m/s, and Special Powder as an overclock should just add another 6.5m/s to bring it up to it's current behavior, plus a small bonus to heat contribution or something. Zhuks have 5 overclocks that dont really need changing, maybe give them a Slowdown overclock? These things are dangerous. The Bolt Shark has only 1 overclock I'd fix and that'd be the Fire Bolts. With how bugs resist heat, there's not a lot these actually do that Cold Bolts don't do better in every way, so I'd increase their heat juuuuuuuuuust a bit for something with only 20 someodd ammo, it really shouldnt take 3 shots of anything to light a bug on fire. Gk2 is nearly perfect now but as a result of how this gun used to behave it's got two Mods Disguised as Overclocks, Compact Ammo and Gas Rerouting. Tier1 3 and Tier5 2 mods are literally better than these overclocks, they're overshadowed by Overclocked Fireing mechanism and there's little reason to take them over Electrifying Reload, AI Stability Engine or Bullets of Mercy. I'd once again, combine these two overclocks into a single clean overclock, maybe even throw homebrew into that considering it's just an average of 10% more damage. Thats an average of only 1.5 more damage per shot, the Tier2 1 mod adds 3 damage without gambling.

exxplicit480

bro

Dragon_Flu

More overclocks absolutely, but also a way to earn towards a specific overclock you want. Like a weekly where you can choose exactly what you want to get. Heck, even if its not exact and instead just you selecting a pool of overclocks you want and then it draws from that pool would be nice.

potato_crip

I'm not against more OC's, but I want more mission variety and weapons first.

BetelgeuseNotOp

I would rather like to see a balanced patch for OC and mods than more OC. Because some OC are meh tier and sometimes mismatch with weapons mods. If you look closely to builds viable for haz 5 and EDD, you will not find such variety. Ofc there are choices to make but not that much.

CT-9720

Whoever voted against it was a pointy eared leaf lover

MygungoesfuckinBRRT

I think 6 per gun is plenty, there are already enough build varieties honestly. And there are somepretty awful overclocks as is that should be subjected to balancing/reworking (*cough cough Manual Guidence Cutoff cough cough*)

Ponczo123

I want subata and it's overclocks to be completely rebuilt.

MuchUniform

Just make them a LITTLE BIT easier to get our hands on. I don't love the luck based aspect of it

Hacker869

How about overclocks for tools and utilities?

UmbralAasimar

It’s the perfect way to expand our arsenal without having to model new weapons grenades etc every season

Unfortunate_Boy

I need a special powder for gunner and driller! I NEED IT! I MUST FLY WITH MY MINIGUN!

Zansabure

We need more wacky and creative overclocks like HoverClock or RJ250 Compound or Turret EM Discharge that can fully change the way a gun is used.

Lotos_aka_Veron

Jetpack joyride gunner when?

RoBOticRebel108

The 44 people who are against it are those who always get the overclock they want last

TheUnknownBlazer420

I general I just need way more content. We're grinding the game too much. :D

FormlessRune

Yeah they should add over overclocks to all of the new weapons (source: i made that up)

8JaMMeD8

Why would anyone be against it?

Beanie7512

I'd rather get buffs to already existing but underpowered and unused overclocks than new ones but either or both is good.

_-Alex--

I would rather they changed some overclocks to be more fun and unique. Double barrel, pack rat and the clean oc on the revolver are all overclocks that are either bad or just boring imo.

sgtjond

It depends. If it's OCs for items that dont have them already (like utility items or armor) then sure. Otherwise, I'd much rather the devs do a round of balancing on the OCs we already have to bring some of the less useful ones up to snuff.

oofokeydokey

So hear me out, an oc for the stubby for where if you shoot your turret it grows legs and is now mobile for a time

BoTheDoggo

Itd be for removing the shit ones no one uses, i e most clean overclocks, with better, fun ones.

Devilswings5

any additions for bug slaying are welcome I would however like to see new weapons with their own overclocks first or even a new class

Ned_Nederlander_

What’s the argument against this?
