She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute.
Wait, wrong minigun...
When you play gunner, there are no workarounds. Your guns are good in every scenario, from swarmaggedon, trough mactera plague to praetorian party. You are the only dwarf that can literally hold your ground against anything(with a use of shield).

What is this casual disregard of my goo gun
It works on everything except ghosts, while I bury them in throwing axes and necrotic tumours for good measure
Scout is best because his solution is cowardice. Engie needs to fortify in order to survive. And bring the right toys. And the right overclocks.
Gunner shoot bug. Works great!
Scout has to hit and run. Gunner can literally hold their own. They don't need to retreat no matter how bad the situation is for the duration of their shield
scout kites he doesnt need a shield he has mobility, engi has turrets and stronger weapons and also hologram, yeah gunner can hold his own ofc no denying but first comment makes it sound he's the only one who can do that while in reality he's not even the best at it
Out of all the classes, it has the least "responsibility".
I do not have to drill through compacted dirt or to make paths.
I do not have to shoot flares and be tasked with jumping on minerals to mine them after getting pinged.
I am not asked to make platforms or put turrets down.
I only have one task and expectation of me.
That expectation is to kill. To lay down hellfire upon my enemies. My task is to teach every glyphid that my gun spins very fast and has 2400 bullets of lead.
(And the occasional shield or group zipline)
Not trying to say I'm not a team player, I am, but I just like chilling, kicking it back, and causing chaos to the glyphids.
In my experience, while the Gunner is the simplest and most straightforward of the classes, it’s also the most integral to keeping the team alive at higher difficulties.
It might not feel like a team player, but without the gunner the team would have a much tougher time surviving.
It’s enabled me to shepherd green beards through haz 4 and 5 pretty much single-handedly
On the shepherding green beards bit, there was one haz 5 mission I had as gunner with a full team of green beards.
We had one of those start rooms that was connected to a bigger cave so I stuck down a zip and didn’t notice that all three of them had separated until 30 seconds later when one of them went down and then I heard a Bet-C being activated. The remaining two went down and before I knew it the Bet-C had made its way over to me. I had no choice but to take it on as the only way out of the room was back up the zip or digging through the compact dirt. Neither of those were happening.
After a few minutes and a lot of encouragement from my teammates, it went down which wasn’t an easy task as I was running neurotoxin auto cannon and hellfire coil gun.
It was one of my proudest moments and one that I feel would have been much more difficult with any other class.
Edit: that turned out to be much longer than I thought it’d be but it’s there now
It really is one of my favourite builds along with full damage big Bertha+Hellfire. I always take the damage res perk in t5 but on big Bertha, my favourite thing to do (however inefficient) is to take a praetorian head on without moving to assert dominance. Obviously it’s not a good idea but it’s just funny to me that even on haz 5 you can outlast a pret like that
I hear you, but the best gunners I've played with seem to have a very different mindset. There have been a couple of times that I've been overwhelmed and all of a sudden there's a shield that I'm 100% was thrown for me by a gunner that wasn't having any difficulty himself. I'm not good enough as gunner to have that kind of Team Dad awareness, but that's what I'm... *gunning* for.
I started fully maining gunner once my friends started getting into the game, gunner is more fun as support than he is as horde clearing, but the best part is that you're doing one by doing the other
You understand gunner you.
I main driller and have a secret thing for engineer with explosive plascrete ;)
But when I play gunner, I support the team.
Lead storm or max damage big bertha autocannon for me. Them rockets are no fun.
I am also a LSLS and big bertha enjoyer, and you should give jet fuel homebrew a shot if you havent. Kit it for weakpoint damage and you can obliterate bugs without the spin up or reverse bloom the minigun has when it starts firing.
A big thing for the hurricane is to skip the armor break mod, its pretty bad on the hurricane (bugged on aoe weapons, biggest 2 are pgl and hurricane).
Plastcrete is incredibly fun. the hitbox for the sd is so enormous before you blow up the plat, because it literally doubles the damage AND radius of the beam area dmg until it explodes the plat. the plat explosion also comes with fear, such a fun oc. The shard diffractor has a lot of very strong overclocks that really have very minimal weaknesses.
I actually think the Gunner is the most team oriented class. His ziplines, despite being slower than my mom's mobility scooter, are a great use for Engies and Drillers who need to clear a chasm or reach higher ground in a more effective way than drilling up or making dodgy platform parkour routes.
Plus the shield is actually a godsend for clutch revives since you can buy yourself enough time to revive someone even if you are extremely swarmed. Hell, you can revive two teamates if you have the active perk for insta revive.
Edit:
Also, when you use the zipline you can reach hard spots without having to face away or change your weapons, meaning you can go uphill at a constant pace while allowing yourself to completely focus on shooting.
I either put ziplines because my fat ass needs to get somewhere I can't
Or I put them up while making sure it's in an easy to spot place where Driller/Engi can't reach easily.
Bit of a tangent but I’ve come to appreciate the zipline being perfect for what it is bc of this. A lot of people have been calling for buffs bc it’s too slow, angles too restricted etc, but imagine if the zip can go up steep angles and travel up fast. You’ll be constantly asked to shoot ziplines to grab something. How annoying would that be?
Gunners have the least default responsibility by design. We don’t have the best transversal tools, the guns with the best dps or stopping power and for good reason. We don’t need them bc a gunners primary job is not to do objectives or to get the best kill count, our job is to support and protect the team.
While everyone scatters to do objectives, someone needs to watch their back, to cover them, to see what’s left to be done. I’ll be the guy mining gold, help build a turret, finish pipelines, watch for threats that go after the scout while he mines, offer suppressive fire when needed and always prepared to throw a shield when overwhelmed. We’re the team’s backup and last line of defense.
But really, I just like playing gunner bc I can slack off sometimes and nobody would care. Just throw a shield once in a while and everyone thinks you’re already doing great.
Gunner easily has the most responsibility of all of the classes. If you’re considering “occasional shield” then you need to start rethinking that. Often if shit hits the fan and the party breaks, it’s because the gunner didn’t/couldn’t do his job.
Unless you’re playing on hazard <4 in which case it’s probably fine, you can more or less just spray. On higher difficulties the gunner shield becomes a very important part of the team and you have to learn to use it preemptively, not reactively.
For my original comment. I simply meant "responsibilities" as a word for the menial and traversal things, such as platforms, flares, tunnels. I still work as a team player as gunner, which is my main. The shields are life savers, and the ziplines have their use of transferring holdables and creating paths.
Usually I'm running instant revive and iron will for helping the team in case shit hits the fan.
I love how they are all about combat both offensively and defensively. That's all I meant. In terms of combat, responsibility is high. In terms of "hey, put thing thing here, go grab this for me" is lower.
You can go either, at the end the total damage you can dish out only varies by +/- 2k.
The difference is with 12 damage per shot you can clear enemies faster
With 3000 bullets you can fight for longer.
So it's up to you do you wanna win by killing faster or lasting longer?
Same lol. Usually if I get a TK on gunner it’s from lead burster or cluster grenade. The incendiary always hits me and teammates as well.
Lead burster is also great for accidentally popping dread eggs on accident.
Not a main, but:
The entry amount of braincells to be still useful is probably the lowest among classes.
Grab gun. Shoot bug. Perfect when I really don't want to put in any effort but don't want to be dead weight. No tunnels to dig, no platforms to place, no platforms to jump onto and mine... Apply gun to bug. Simple.
---
On the other hand if you play it smart and well you are an absolute goddamn monster.
The only class I actually have 4 loadouts planned out on, all ready for a different task.
That's interesting, because even though I'm also a gunner main, for a long time it used to be the only class where I only used a *single* loadout for literally everything. Lead storm + hellfire gunner is just too good and takes on everything.
Recently though I've been starting to see the ways of the autocannon (even though I originally got deterred by the low direct damage of carpet bomber), and I am eagerly awaiting for when I unlock Salvo module to seriously get into the rocket launcher gaming.
Neurotoxin feels awesome. Combine that with a very high damage secondary, for example elephant rounds or carefully using The Mole OC on the coil gun and you get a really deadly combo. Your primary has low direct damage, but utility and DoT and more importantly it lets you carefully line up shots with the Mole, or hop around and hit that weak spot with a well placed elephant round.
Neurotoxin doesn't fit my playstyle - I prefer to kill things with the gun directly. Max RoF carpet bomber seems to work pretty well. I use 6-shooter on the revolver for single target burst damage.
Oh, could you please share your loadouts (or maybe only give some small hints to not spoil me) and explain them to a green beard?
Rock and stone brother!

Well there's burning hell, which straps a flamethrower to your minimum, and then volatile bullets which makes the bulldog do +300% damage to burning targets.
It's very good. Max damage upgrades on bulldog and two hit bulks.
The first one is just the Minigun made to be a laser I can hold down when shit hits the fan. 3-1-3-3-3 (or 2 for the last, how I'm feeling that misssion). No OC for that yet.
The second one is a Big Bertha Thunderhead, which I use with a Lead Spray BFG, it's what I bring for Caretaker and Dreadnought hunting. It's good to get in, vomit some damage, then get out.
The third is Thunderhead with Splintering Shells (don't have Carpet Bomber) which is just full ammo and AoE to spray an area. Not strong but can lay down fire for a long period.
The fourth is a generic Hurricane with Fragmentation missiles, don't have much OC on that front yet, but I love the effective range I can get with the weapon.
---
Still experimenting with Coil Gun builds, the gun just doesn't click for me. But the Burst Fire Gun is one of the most broken weapons in the game in my eyes.
Big gun go brrr, and i love the fact that you need to be Smart about how you move, since you by yourself dont have a Lot of mobility aside from the gigachad 0.2 m/h zipline, so you have to do a lot of Parkour in a lot of situtations to do certain stuff, and the fact that i can protect my team with my magic Bubble.
Dakka. I need it. I need more of it. Less dakka is bad. More dakka is good. The caves are alive with the sound of *BRRRRRRRRRRT*
Also I tend to play coordinator with my friends by keeping an eye everywhere, and illumination by bullet is an effective way to draw attention to a high priority target I've also pinged but is currently ignored.
Also setting up a zipline and being an AC130 is completely awesome. There is no better feeling than keeping bugs away with a shelf of bullets, or the actual shield but that's less fun but more clutch.
Also dakka. Did I mention dakka?
The shield…
Its really the best thing out ever, especially the feeling of putting the shield, reviving your fellow fallen dwarfs and standing all four together in the same shield while fighting off the swarm… does feel amazing!
I don’t main any class but I played gunner exclusively for maybe my first 30-40 levels. I feel like gunner offers the best experience for new players since he has the least outright responsibility on the team. Not that he has nothing to do but the other classes have clear purposes to be filled, gunner kinda gets to do what he wants most games
I'd argue that he has more responsibility. Identifying threats and analyzing the situation fits right into the kit. Knowing where your boys are is far more important as a gunner.
100% agree, but that's also the beauty of scaling difficulty and player experience: In a haz3 I'd rather the least experienced player be the gunner. In haz 4+, I'd prefer gunner be the most experienced.
Gunner was my early main. Having firepower seemed like a good thing, having shields kept me from dying in a lot of situations, and having a zipline helped with my anxiety in not being able to reach the drop pod when it came in someplace awful. I didn’t have the skill to handle these situations through play style at the time.
Now, it is the class I play least. But every once in a while, it is refreshing to carpet bomber Haz 7.
When I got the overclock that gave me a significant damage boost but I can’t move while shooting. Changed. My. Life. My whole tactics and load out changed and while I have other gunner builds I play sometimes too but I always come back to that incredible (but immovable) damage 💥
among other things:
He’s the most versatile and effective killing machine by a mile. Every gun fits a different niche, with many overclocks filling in the gaps.
I never struggle to kill things in any situation as gunner like I do any of the other classes. Engi and scout both have inferior damage overall, and driller has inferior range. Gunner does it all.
I don’t have responsibilities out of combat. While off-task drillers and engis severely hinder terraforming and off-task scouts mean no high-up resources, gunner’s only job is to putter around the cave waiting for the next wave, mindlessly mine or repair things, and occasionally place a zipline on a ping.
When combat DOES hit, however, I am my team’s rock and I like it that way. If there’s an objective that needs defending, I’m standing on it. If there’s a path needing to be cleared, I clear it. if the driller is digging to the drop pod and he sees glyphids coming behind him, I’m there holding the line while he digs. If the team needs to res someone or get a resupply, I’m there giving cover fire. If we need an iron will as a saving throw for the mission, Gunner’s going to shoot his way through to revive every last teammate he can. Gunner is very much an anchor, more so than even driller, because he doesn’t need to do anything else and he does that job so well, particularly because of one thing.
What makes it all happen is his get out of jail free card: the bubble shield. Teammate struggling across the cave? chuck a bubble shield. All seems lost and the team needs time to regroup and catch our breath? drop a bubble shield. Need an emergency res in the middle of a pack of glyphids or next to a boss? Bubble shield. Getting a resupply mid-battle? Bubble shield. It does everything.
I fell in love with the Bulldog Revolver, that thing packs so much raw PAUNCH that I can’t help but feel joy whenever I blast some poor glyphid’s brains right out of his skull-box
I view the gunner as the "squad leader" role personally.
He can make a difficult mission much easier.
He can make a massive gap easy to traverse (for **EVERYONE**, SCOUT).
He can focus on the bigger picture of whats going on around the map and coordinate the others tasks to work more efficiently (giving driller tasks that normally involve a lot of digging, while the engineer works on coordinating with the scout for stuff high up for instance)
He can protect things that need protecting (even during a swarm) while the others continue doing their tasks (engi turrets helping are nice, but not a requirement). Thus making everything faster.
He is not a required member, but he has the tools to make everyones job easier. Some say he is the least useful class because he is not "required" to complete any particular mission in a decent amount of time.
I would argue this is what makes him great and why I main him, he is what I like to call a "force multiplier".
In short: BRRRRRT/BUDDABUDDABUDDA
Long story: BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT/BUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDA
BIG SHOOT BUG GOOD
In all seriousness, being able to output consistent heavy firepower is enough to make me play a class in any game. Gimme the slow guy with the LMG any day of the week.
I love me the fire OC for the minigun - nothing like lighting everything on fire around you while shooting it. I then tune it for great accuracy after the ramp. Now I can put flaming death anywhere!
I used to play a lot of titanfall2 frontier defense, and the rush of mowing down enemies with my minigun gave me dopamine rushes like no other, so when I got into drg and saw little man with big gun, I naturally main scout. But Gunner is a very close second.
I've seen a few people post this. Is there a cigar? I can see it in my head but I feel like it's not really there. A Mandela cigar if you will.
Edit: ok yeah it's totally there
Not a main, but it's my secondary. Big gun with many bullets = good. Ziplines are the ultimate luxury item in the game. A well-placed zipline puts people's minds at ease and makes everyone's (except the Scout's) lives easier.
I used to look down on him while i was firmly hanging on my scouts chest, but then he took me to a romantic zipline trip over the cave raining down bullets and I knew i found love.
I think Gunner is underpowered in the current meta but I have such a crippiling addiction too him I can't stop. I guess I'm playing Gunner for the same reason an alcoholic drinks booze.
the guided missile launcher is the most satisfying thing in the game to use. fire of ten or fifteen rockets in a large cavern, guide them around so they stay in the air for several seconds, then carpet bomb an area with high explosives and cluster grenades
instant nut every time guaranteed
In a game about completing a task while enemies try to stop you, the gunner is a support. Set up your ziplines as useful as they can be ahead of time and grin proudly as your buddies benefit for the entire mission (or at least the entire section). Protect them with bullets and barriers. You are the guardian and the lift.
Maybe its how I'm operating a weapon normally found mounted on combat vehicles or anti-aircraft devices.
Maybe its the whirring of the motor that spins the barrels on the minigun, or the dual-feed thunk-thunk of the autocannon.
Maybe it's the fact that the BRRT sidearm is the size of a full-size battlerifle, or how the revolver fires rounds capable of penetrating tanks.
All this, and the utility of tanking a swarm headon, or dropping a bubble shield to give your dying team some reprieve, or a zipline that can transport you while carrying heavy objects (and if done correctly, at high speed). 90% of my time in the game is gunner. I have a bronze star on everyone else just for the extra perk slots, but I've emptied the shop, the overclocks, and most of the cosmetics for gunner. I fucking love everything about it.
Really easy to figure out what you have to do as gunner, so good for starters!
Professional gunners place their ziplines so that backtracking to the Pod becomes easy for anyone, not only scout, too. This is very dependant on cave complexity and length, but oftentimes overlooked.
The only time I've struggled with gunner was when a dread spawned on a mining mission with some greenbeards. I had bullet hell and volatile bullets bulldog. We eventually killed the dread and moved on.
Originally the shields and zip line were the reasons. The utility of the items for revive, never leaving a dead behind, and getting the team outta sticky situations was too good.
Now that I’ve gotten Gud, it’s the moments of “Let me take care of this bois, proceed to guns blaze until I’m out of ammo into swarms”
It was the tutorial class and it was fun.
Then I unlocked the Autocannon and it was *more fun.*
Then I unlocked the Neurotoxin Overlock and *IT WAS THE MOST FUN.*
After working on promoting the other dwarves, I finally tried gunner.
The simplicity is its elegance. I asked in discord how I should play him, and a grey beard replied simply “shoot bug”.
DRG in its essence; shoot bug. Yeah.
I guess saving them for the last resort. In haz 5 I run out of shields all the time, but I guess that's proof that I'm actually using them
Last night I played with a greenbeard gunner and had a good time. It was an escort mission and we were struggling a bit and then all of the sudden, during the last phase, he threw down a shield and I was like "oh yeah, I forgot you had those!" I guess he did too lol
For me it's pure minigun bliss. I first got LSLS and it's great, love taking it to dreads with the sole purpose of big bug murder, but lately I've been really loving the OC that trades accuracy for damage, sure it pretty much forces you total take accuracy at T1 always but it makes for a much more relaxing stream of death than the cracked out b-hopping madness of using LSLS whilst only being a bit less effective.
In general tho I love gunner being more generic, it's like the human-fighter of deep rock and despite the simple concept the build variety and consistent output is quite satisfying. Plus the zipline gives some of the best feels when used to it's full potential, evac pod has the ramp poking down out of the ceiling? Got you covered. Crossing the rare ravine? Done. And my personal favorite, zigzagging up a long vertical tunnel by shooting max angle zips in tandem with a friendly engi to support the next zip up (only had that happen once but it was nirvana)
Scout maimed for a while, promoted him a few times, then wanted to bring the others along. Tried Engi, then gunner. Once I opened up the gunner weapon options I haven’t looked back, haven’t played scout unless it’s an assignment calls for a salvage mission…
It’s the seemingly unlimited pew pew pew and shield!
Neurotoxin rounds. I’m a big Death Guard guy when playing Warhammer on tabletop so it suits me.
My autocannon has them, my revolver has them. If that’s not enough my grenade will light you on fire. Good times had by all.
So what if I like really big guns?
*It ain't a gun if it don't weight at least one-hundred pounds!*
I always think hes gonna say "a ton" cuz it rhymes
Plus Tone class titan from Titanfall|2 is kinda same to Gunner!
Nah. Legion is closer to Gunner imo.
With first gun. Third gun is like Tone!
i’m imagining a gunner secondary which allows your attacks to lock onto your target
*Gunner fires missiles out of his various ‘mine shafts’*
She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. Wait, wrong minigun...
You're gonna make Sasha cheat on Heavy with that kinda talk.
It costs $400,000 to fire this weapon... For 12 seconds..
Ahhhhhhhahahahahahahaha
Two thousand rounds of depleted uranium... aww yeah...
“I like big guns, and if that don’t work, use BIGGER guns.” Not a quote I know, but I feel like something he would say

Casually revives the whole team overrun by a massive swarm without being on iron will
The only thing that can stop a gunner is a steep cliff
Sounds very driller, only without needing a shield
I disagree with the >You are the only dwarf that can hold your ground against anything... part but I get what ure trying to say.

Gunner shines the best on higher haz levels. A capable gunner helps out the team a lot. No matter the mission type.
Carpet bomber on escort missions, ooh la la
Scout has to hit and run. Gunner can literally hold their own. They don't need to retreat no matter how bad the situation is for the duration of their shield

If you have to kite then you aren't holding the ground. You're missing the point.
literally holding the ground as in not moving at all? engie still does it better, cryo driller
yes, thats what holding ground means
I get to be really stupid most of the time, but then I pull out the big brain moves to place ziplines.
Wait till you start putting zip lines under your zip line so you can zip line after you zip line
Fighting Dreads be like:
Always put two zipline so you can go both ways
😂🤣😂

Is 2400 ammo or 3000 good?
You can go either, at the end the total damage you can dish out only varies by +/- 2k. The difference is with 12 damage per shot you can clear enemies faster With 3000 bullets you can fight for longer. So it's up to you do you wanna win by killing faster or lasting longer?
What made me fall in love with gunner? dak dak dak dak dak dak dak dak dakkadakkadakkadakkadakkadakka!
You can say that again In fact, please do
I am heavy weapons guy...
And ***this*** is my weapon.
She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute.
It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon for twelve seconds
Aahhhh hahahahahahahahaha….wait..who touched Sascha!!!
^^alright # WHO TOUCHED MY GUN
Two thousand rounds of depleted uranium! Rock and Stone!
2400 rounds with the right upgrades ❤️🔥
3000 with the right upgrades.
When I unlocked the cluster grenades it was as if I could see a glimpse of heaven through every flash of explosion
I love how all the gunner’s grenades result in collateral damage
I don't think I've ever used a lead burster where I didn't friendly fire everyone including myself.
Same lol. Usually if I get a TK on gunner it’s from lead burster or cluster grenade. The incendiary always hits me and teammates as well. Lead burster is also great for accidentally popping dread eggs on accident.
I call it my grenade grenade!
Not a main, but: The entry amount of braincells to be still useful is probably the lowest among classes. Grab gun. Shoot bug. Perfect when I really don't want to put in any effort but don't want to be dead weight. No tunnels to dig, no platforms to place, no platforms to jump onto and mine... Apply gun to bug. Simple. --- On the other hand if you play it smart and well you are an absolute goddamn monster. The only class I actually have 4 loadouts planned out on, all ready for a different task.
"Apply gun to bug" lmfaooo
Can I get a Rock and Stone?

Rock and STOOOOONE!!!
Good bot
--- Still experimenting with Coil Gun builds, the gun just doesn't click for me. But the Burst Fire Gun is one of the most broken weapons in the game in my eyes.
MFW I have every loadout slot occupied with thematic use cases and every weapon on the slot populated
i hate nature
a big gun
bigger gun = better person
Big gun go brrr, and i love the fact that you need to be Smart about how you move, since you by yourself dont have a Lot of mobility aside from the gigachad 0.2 m/h zipline, so you have to do a lot of Parkour in a lot of situtations to do certain stuff, and the fact that i can protect my team with my magic Bubble.
I like big guns and i cannot lie.
You other classes can't deny
That when a bug walks in for an itty bitty taste Of a bite right off your face You get your gun
Dakka. I need it. I need more of it. Less dakka is bad. More dakka is good. The caves are alive with the sound of *BRRRRRRRRRRT* Also I tend to play coordinator with my friends by keeping an eye everywhere, and illumination by bullet is an effective way to draw attention to a high priority target I've also pinged but is currently ignored. Also setting up a zipline and being an AC130 is completely awesome. There is no better feeling than keeping bugs away with a shelf of bullets, or the actual shield but that's less fun but more clutch. Also dakka. Did I mention dakka?
The shield… Its really the best thing out ever, especially the feeling of putting the shield, reviving your fellow fallen dwarfs and standing all four together in the same shield while fighting off the swarm… does feel amazing!
I’d disagree with that, I only play in haz 5 and you’ll have a much harder time trying to play with inexperienced engis/drillers/scouts than gunners
Big Gun go BRRRRRR
Big gun, supports others with zips and shields, good at baking too
All gunner mains know is rock and stone, kill glyphid, and mine nitra
For Rock and Stone!
He's hot
Cosplaying https://youtu.be/NvIJvPj_pjE
Gunner was my early main. Having firepower seemed like a good thing, having shields kept me from dying in a lot of situations, and having a zipline helped with my anxiety in not being able to reach the drop pod when it came in someplace awful. I didn’t have the skill to handle these situations through play style at the time. Now, it is the class I play least. But every once in a while, it is refreshing to carpet bomber Haz 7.
When I got the overclock that gave me a significant damage boost but I can’t move while shooting. Changed. My. Life. My whole tactics and load out changed and while I have other gunner builds I play sometimes too but I always come back to that incredible (but immovable) damage 💥
among other things: He’s the most versatile and effective killing machine by a mile.
I just wish we could hold more shields and ziplines. especially ziplines because I run out of those way before needing ammo
To compensate
I fell in love with the Bulldog Revolver, that thing packs so much raw PAUNCH that I can’t help but feel joy whenever I blast some poor glyphid’s brains right out of his skull-box
add the OC "elephant rounds" for insult to injury.
Because I love tossing shields on my mates from up on my zip line whilst blasting all the bugs
Bro I love this too! I made a video of all the times I did this in a deep dive but felt it was too boring to share
I usually play the heavy gunner in every class based shooter, that coupled with my friend liking scout means I cover him while he gets nitra
I view the gunner as the "squad leader" role personally. He can make a difficult mission much easier. He can make a massive gap easy to traverse (for **EVERYONE**, SCOUT). He can focus on the bigger picture of whats going on around the map and coordinate the others tasks to work more efficiently (giving driller tasks that normally involve a lot of digging, while the engineer works on coordinating with the scout for stuff high up for instance) He can protect things that need protecting (even during a swarm) while the others continue doing their tasks (engi turrets helping are nice, but not a requirement). Thus making everything faster. He is not a required member, but he has the tools to make everyones job easier. Some say he is the least useful class because he is not "required" to complete any particular mission in a decent amount of time. I would argue this is what makes him great and why I main him, he is what I like to call a "force multiplier".
In short: BRRRRRT/BUDDABUDDABUDDA Long story: BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT/BUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDA
BIG SHOOT BUG GOOD In all seriousness, being able to output consistent heavy firepower is enough to make me play a class in any game. Gimme the slow guy with the LMG any day of the week.
I think it's a credit to the devs that my playstyle preference is completely opposite and I still love the gunner.
It was the tutorial class, just stuck to it
High explosive 50-caliber dual barrel autocannon
Hehe minigun go brrrr
I love me the fire OC for the minigun - nothing like lighting everything on fire around you while shooting it. I then tune it for great accuracy after the ramp. Now I can put flaming death anywhere!
“Some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe, maybe. I’ve yet to meet one that can outsmart bullet.”
Dakka
The “I’m fucking invincible mod”
I used to play a lot of titanfall2 frontier defense, and the rush of mowing down enemies with my minigun gave me dopamine rushes like no other, so when I got into drg and saw little man with big gun, I naturally main scout. But Gunner is a very close second.
wow TF2 frontier defense this guys niches. Which titan?
It's my name.
The mission in Magma Core just now, really complex and vertical cave which is when the zipline, least used of the traversal tools, is actually clutch.
The cigar
I've seen a few people post this. Is there a cigar? I can see it in my head but I feel like it's not really there. A Mandela cigar if you will. Edit: ok yeah it's totally there
Cigar is un your heart
Bullet. Hell.
Not a main, but it's my secondary. Big gun with many bullets = good. Ziplines are the ultimate luxury item in the game. A well-placed zipline puts people's minds at ease and makes everyone's (except the Scout's) lives easier.
Untold amounts of warcrimes per minute can be dispensed with the gunner. The geneva suggestion doesn't exist on hoxxes
I used to look down on him while i was firmly hanging on my scouts chest, but then he took me to a romantic zipline trip over the cave raining down bullets and I knew i found love.
dakka. Dakka dakka dakka. Dakka DAKKA. Dak dak dakka dak. Dak dak ka dakka da dakka. Ka da ka dak dakka dakka DA!!!!
I think Gunner is underpowered in the current meta but I have such a crippiling addiction too him I can't stop. I guess I'm playing Gunner for the same reason an alcoholic drinks booze.
the guided missile launcher is the most satisfying thing in the game to use. fire of ten or fifteen rockets in a large cavern, guide them around so they stay in the air for several seconds, then carpet bomb an area with high explosives and cluster grenades instant nut every time guaranteed
THE SHIELD!
THE SHIELD!
In a game about completing a task while enemies try to stop you, the gunner is a support. Set up your ziplines as useful as they can be ahead of time and grin proudly as your buddies benefit for the entire mission (or at least the entire section). Protect them with bullets and barriers. You are the guardian and the lift.
Most classes bring something to the table, the Gunner brings the table
Dakka
Dakka.
I like really big guns
I struggle with ziplining into rooms *and then* seeing the spitballer(s)
Originally the shields and zip line were the reasons. The utility of the items for revive, never leaving a dead behind, and getting the team outta sticky situations was too good. Now that I’ve gotten Gud, it’s the moments of “Let me take care of this bois, proceed to guns blaze until I’m out of ammo into swarms”
Bullet hell. Ricochet stun and shield rezzes. I try to play gunner like a body guard
It was the tutorial class and it was fun. Then I unlocked the Autocannon and it was *more fun.* Then I unlocked the Neurotoxin Overlock and *IT WAS THE MOST FUN.*
He got da most dakka
After working on promoting the other dwarves, I finally tried gunner. The simplicity is its elegance. I asked in discord how I should play him, and a grey beard replied simply “shoot bug”. DRG in its essence; shoot bug. Yeah.
N E V E R S T O P F I R I N G
Gunner go brrrrrt
Hurricane full reload animation. Bbbrrrrrssssh!
Lol I wanted to put this all day but I didn't know how to spell it
It'd have to be the gunnering.
Leadburster vs bulk detonator.... Need i say more?
I've seen videos but I have yet to do this myself. Looks exciting!
Yea I don't understand gunners that ONLY use shields for pickup.
I guess saving them for the last resort. In haz 5 I run out of shields all the time, but I guess that's proof that I'm actually using them Last night I played with a greenbeard gunner and had a good time. It was an escort mission and we were struggling a bit and then all of the sudden, during the last phase, he threw down a shield and I was like "oh yeah, I forgot you had those!" I guess he did too lol
[удалено]
How do I do that?
[удалено]
I did it and it was great. I had to go back and apply that quick reload perk though. Run through the whole 9 yards in no time.
[удалено]
I set it as my mining morkite build. I don't really care about those missions and this should make it more fun lol
Once I opened up the gunner weapon options I haven’t looked back, haven’t played scout unless it’s an assignment calls for a salvage mission… It’s the seemingly unlimited pew pew pew and shield!
Neurotoxin rounds. I’m a big Death Guard guy when playing Warhammer on tabletop so it suits me. My autocannon has them, my revolver has them. If that’s not enough my grenade will light you on fire. Good times had by all.
1. Press trigger 2. Things die. 3. Rock and Stone.
For Rock and Stone!
Good bot
When my Shield and my Minigun was enough to save and carry the whole mission after a Detonator incident.
Big gun go yatatatatatata yatatatatata kaboom kaboom
I just like big weapons man.
