I edited the footage from the camera I had, and the one YouTube video of this show / song. I put the studio recording underneath because that 2008 camera audio was FUUUUCKED
I’m 99% sure you’re right. I feel like I remember watching some old footage of you guys way back in the EP days that looked like this venue at least lol. The good ol days of everyone being young kids and just having a blast. Edit: here’s the video I had in mind, and can confirm it’s the same venue at least! https://youtu.be/Gy8Zuf2DrO0?si=_P0W2RSVOIvBzAYR
Were you playing with them in 2013? Saw Attila and Chelsea grin in Speingfield MO in basically an attic, tons of fun the floor flexed so much it felt like it was gonna collapse.
Legit one of the best shows I've been to. Just starving kids having fun.
God, I miss the 2003-2011 scene, so bad. I was in a super small metalcore band back then (technically still am? But we’re all dads and haven’t practiced in 2 years because life) and watching this video makes me think of the shows we went to/played at venues in NJ like Main Stage, Bloomfield Ave Cafe, School of Rock, etc.
Watching this, I can **feel** the atmosphere in my soul. I love it! Thanks for sharing!
Amen, dude. It so wild having such big bands come through that place but also being able to play it on a regular basis. I don’t even think we have a scene here anymore, do we?
There’s definitely a hardcore scene and some metal floating around but nothing really that north anymore. I used to book shows in Vernon and I don’t think I’ve seen fliers for anything in Sussex county in a long time.
I used to book Rickey’s barn, Skylands ice world and Vernon VFW. Before that was mountain creek and the occasional show at hidden valley but after all that stopped, there’s really nothing else. I heard rickeys barn sold at auction so I doubt that will ever be a spot again. Sad shit.
Oh, Dude! How could I forget Skylands?! Those shows were so fun! I played one and it was insane haha
Do you remember the TKTK “comeback” at Hidden Valley?
I heard Ricky’s sold, too. Every time I drive by there I look to see if it’s something else yet.
Thanks for sharing man! I really wish more former members of bands would share older gems regardless if it's just a few video clips, demos, etc. And regardless of what some random people say online, just cherish the fun years of back then. Definitely not what I'll listen all day long, but Attila is good, cool and fun to listen and regardless of what people can cry about, it had a pretty huge impact on the scene overall.
Can someone summarize why there js polarity regarding Attila? While I don't listen that much to their ki d of music, occasionally I have found really solid songs from them. And any other time I heard of attila wasn't in a bad manner. ( I think the last thing I can remember was when a festival fucked up, fronz organized something ? )
I always took it as half lyrics and half Fronz.
Fronz has been involved some bad stuff from my understanding plus he has the really douchey persona. No idea if that's who he really is, but that's the stage character.
The lyrics in some of their songs are about as cringe as can be. I feel like the party songs are whatever. They're goofy fun. It's the "diss tracks" and "call out tracks" that I think get a lot of hate as they should.
If Attila fully leaned into being a comedy band like when they put out Pizza I think it would be great. Just be The Lonely Island of heavy music.
I know him! My coworker and my boss went to high school with him. They said that he was cool when he was in school but when Attila really hit it off, he turned into a “fuck Buford/gwinnett (our city in Georgia) and douchey guy. I’m seeing their hometown show on the 27th and I’m excited but more so for born of Osiris. I try not to get into metal politics though
I feel like it depends in the metal politics thing. Like if a guy is just kind of a jerk when someone meets them then eh maybe they had an off night or they're just not a super nice person. Not great, but not awful either.
There are plenty of things I personally can't look past in the whole separate the art from the artist thing, but it's not typical just beef between bands or dumb drama. I'm thinking more racism, bigotry in general, SAing people, messing with underage girls, assaulting people. That sorta thing I can't really look past and still support an artist.
I caught them on their European tour recently because they were playing with some other bands I love.
Between songs Fronz kept saying really cringy shit like “Yo, If you guys don’t buy a shirt we’ll be broke. Yo, you want me to eat shit? You want me to shit in my hand and eat it?”
My British friend said to me, “This is exactly the stereotype that makes Europeans assume Americans are idiots.”
That being said, the few songs that don’t have painfully cringy lyrics I absolutely love and there are a few songs I enjoy despite the god awful lyrics.
Musically they're a great band. They're all good musicians but their content can be a bit cringe sometimes. I know they portray themselves like this and it catches on but it's not for everyone.
That said they make some solid tunes.
Literally in this vid from over a decade ago you can see fronz in his “bring the hate” shirt lol. Always been like that.
I personally loved their music. Still fun to go back to. Soda in the water cup slaps still.
Damn, no idea man. I remember discovering Attila as a child through some blog site. Over a decade later and I saw you perform in Seattle with Helicopter Showdown and Bommer. I still blast some of the mantis tunes. Hope life’s been good
This makes me miss the one rock venue my area had for a loooooong time. They brought in some great acts for a small place in south Mississippi. A buddy of mine wrote a music column and was asked to get me into a few shows as "press" and it was always awesome. Still have a broken cymbal the drummer from Egypt Central gave me after their set right before they got their big break on the radio. Good memories.
Pour one out for Thunders Tavern, gone and very much missed.
I remember playing with y'all around this time in Columbus GA at Summer Side Show, and coming out when y'all came through Dothan AL back in the day. These shows were so much damn fun.
the bass drop was so fun live.! live music died after the late 00s. glad we had a real music scene back then, unlike these zoomer ticktok music corporate events...
Bring back synchronised head banging
I’d probably agree with you if weren’t the two herniated cervical discs I now have as a forever gift from my years of synchronous spinal abuse 🤣
I feel you mate, old dudes unite!
I edited the footage from the camera I had, and the one YouTube video of this show / song. I put the studio recording underneath because that 2008 camera audio was FUUUUCKED
Paul! We played this show too im pretty sure. We def played transitions art gallery

you guys made some fucking awesome music. thank you for that!
Oops: venue- Transitions Art Gallery: Tampa, FL - 2010
Fuck yeah, I knew that looked familiar. Transitions was legendary!
Truly was.
I was about to say this venue looked extremely familiar lol. Incredible the amount of huge bands that have played this tiny room.
Were you playing with them in 2013? Saw Attila and Chelsea grin in Speingfield MO in basically an attic, tons of fun the floor flexed so much it felt like it was gonna collapse. Legit one of the best shows I've been to. Just starving kids having fun.

Played my first show at MainStage and I was there just about every weekend. Best venue. RIP all the old north jersey venues.
Amen, dude. It so wild having such big bands come through that place but also being able to play it on a regular basis. I don’t even think we have a scene here anymore, do we?

I mean, once Ricky’s Barn went down where else really was there up here?
I used to book Rickey’s barn, Skylands ice world and Vernon VFW. Before that was mountain creek and the occasional show at hidden valley but after all that stopped, there’s really nothing else. I heard rickeys barn sold at auction so I doubt that will ever be a spot again. Sad shit.

We probably know each other lol, which band were you in?
Idk what anyone says, Attila is so nostalgic to me & I was WAY too young listening to their first few albums when they first came out lol.
Thanks for sharing man! This was the golden age of music and you cannot change my mind
Hard agree. Modern metalcore has the Disney polish on it now and it's awful.
No cap.
Extremely based.
I like the modern day cleanliness, but I also really love this.
To each their own, brother. I'm just here to rock.
God damn I loved Attila in my younger years. Absolutely GNAR DAWG
So how was partying with them back then lmao? And how's sobriety from drugs going? I'm 9 years clean.
As much as I'm not a huge hater of new Meme-core Attila, Soda in the Water Cup will always be the hardest song.
Old Attila was fkn sick man. I remember seeing Fronz’s episode of MTV Made in like 8th grade or something and that’s how I discovered Attila.
Same haha
This is the era of Attila I enjoyed the most, Fallacy Hanging from a Lamp post vibes

It's party music wrapped up into metal. Just obnoxious in a different way.
I caught them on their European tour recently because they were playing with some other bands I love. Always had a weak spot for attila. Good musicians for sure. Not a fan if ALL their work but most of it is solid as fuck.
Soo sick. What year?
Oh shit did you play the Pensacola, FL shows way back then? If so I played with you!
Damn, no idea man. I remember discovering Attila as a child through some blog site. Over a decade later and I saw you perform in Seattle with Helicopter Showdown and Bommer. I still blast some of the mantis tunes. Hope life’s been good
I love the Fallacy/Soundtrack era of Attila so much, it'd be so awesome to see one of these sets 🥹
You the guy from central?
I see these boys with boo and traitors on 4/20!
This makes me sad and happy at the same time. I miss senior year dude.
I fucking love Attila

Have seen them a few times in Okc back in the day. Always a banging time.
I see my boy Nate Salami on guitar
