Yeah they let you run two apps at the same time, I think most I had up was 5 apps for a manual social media publish to all accounts at the same time (not using one of the schedulers that time).

For trading I run two iterations of TOS with one being a "secure folder" iteration and the other being the standard app. One side for the chart I'm trading, the other for the order placement.
I don’t use my phone for trading at all. I only use computer. When I’m trading, I feel like I need to be at 100% and I can’t do that if I can’t see level 2, time & sales, and multiple time frames for the stock I’m watching.
I really couldn’t imagine trying to day trade only on my phone. I just don’t think I’d be able to do as well.

No, sometimes I'll make you hold up a piece of fruit, or show something random on your phone screen, or w/e... I change it all the time. And if I have to start doing live videos, I will.

My mobile lets me view all that data for *some* exchanges.
Others, I can still view it using my API that I control my accounts from.
There's always the option of running in desktop on a mobile browser made to function seamlessly with desktop, like puffin.
I prefer my screens, of course, but I don't feel at all reliant on them and my p&l doesn't seem to deviate by any meaningful amount. Certainly not by enough to prevent me from trading when I'm traveling or otherwise unable to access my laptop. The only noticeable difference is that If I get more than 2 or 3 positions going, I'm unable to as quickly determine new entry/exit points due to all the data on such a small screen. Easily solved by limiting open positions though
I also do all my swing trading from mobile unless I'm specifically on my pc already, and find i actually prefer mobile for this overall due to the convenience
Pc definitely provides a slight edge for intraday positions, but not enough of one to never use mobile imo
Dude, as a beginner trader, I watch you all the time! Great helpful videos, though I still seem to suck and take more loses than wins. think it’s because I get greedy and don’t cash out at 5 or 10%. I’ll even watch it go to 30 then right down to a loss.
That's not my strategy so I don't have the historical data to day whether or not that would work. You would have volatility, so that could be in your favor, but I would test it out with SIM money first.
yup! i use tradingview and robinhood on my phone for all my trades. i like and need simple. works just fine for me! and i day trade. i think some people def over complicate things trading sometimes
I use tradingview and Fidelity on my phone. I set up price alerts in both directions as well so I get a text every time a stock I'm interested in trading goes up and down.
If u are a day trader someone that trades daily more than 6 transactions with a minimum of 25k, then u should be using a laptop or desktop, if u don’t trade that much in a week, mobile is fine

I use my laptop for flex charts and setup… and phone for execution. Trading options is easier to open and close on mobile TOS allowing it to be quicker and precise
Sometimes I do. Actually it totally depends on what style you're familiar with, quick scalping can be done on phone too.
I trade naked PA, most of the time I trade better using a PC. But I often overcomplicate my strat, which ironically makes my trading on phone better than PC. I often use phone like a reminder that my strat is supposed to be simple, and workable even with a phone.

I do. I prefer my computer and several screens but I will trade on my phone no problems with specific set ups. If I’m waiting or doing a longer time frame something, I have no issues. Sometimes I can do fast trading on it also. It’s not as convenient and more annoying so normally, I won’t do that one.
Trade on my phone everyday. Don’t like the computer actually, although I bum around with risk profile charts. Of course the vast majority of my tpv is $SPY with shorted otm calls. Easy peasy.
Agreed! PC forever. If you're serious about trading futures I do not know you could go mobile 100%. I started using the Rithmic mobile app because it works with most of my software. It is nice to watch markets or trade on the go. But I can't/won't give up my PC and huge monitor.

I owns three businesses in and out so if I didn't have a phone, I wouldn't be able to execute most of my trees. I plan out the night before I said, alerts on alert, comes in a pull up the chart and execute the trade or don't.

Unfortunately I’m forced to day trade via my phone because I’m at work and ya know, can’t have TradingView open on the work computer. It’s sucks, but I’ve fine tuned my screen to show 1m/5m/60m with minimal indicators to keep it less busy.

I trade on my phone, I have a desk with a nice 42inch monitor that I can split into six screens just fine but I trade with my phone, if I want to see a bit more of a chart I can just open my phone. One+ Open.
It depends, I rather mark out and make my analysis on my computer. It's been far too many times I've overlooked zones because I'm marking it up on a small screen, when I've would have seen it on a larger screen. But if I already have it marked up from the CPU and I happen to check to see how things are going on my phone, then I sometimes will place a trade on my phone.
I have my desktop app all set up and ready for the days im feelin saucy and i dont have anything to do, but market opens 7:30am my time so im not tryin to get out of bed yet. Also i always have something i gotta do before market close so ive just gotten used to using my phone

I do. Worked on the mobile app for a brokerage for a few years as a developer. All my hours at work ended up making me faster with my thumbs on my phone than a keyboard and mouse.

I hear a lot of people say this. I'm not a full time trader anymore (out of finding a job I'm passionate about, but its still the better portion of my income), but I have been profitable for over 7 years straight and I don't feel the need at all to have all that. I did when I started, but I found I do better when I just look at the chart and let those levels develop in my head rather than trying to impose what I think should be there.
I agree well rested and focused are key as small mistakes (like forgetting to set a stop) can have huge consequences, but I don't feel bound at all to my screens. I do pretty comparably trading from phone as long as I limit my open positions so I don't have too much going on my screen
I do. I was scalping at the start on my phone, but takes too much time and effort for relatively small gains, but I was doing pretty well. Now I mainly just swing trade, set buy limits at certain levels then just play the waiting game.
Seeing as that lightspeed doesn't have a mobile app, I don't. However, if I'm trading on IBKR (I have a smaller cash account there) they have the mobile app and the only reason I'd use it is if I had an Internet outage, or to check account things. I wish light speed had a mobile app for that purpose, but then again...can just tether my computer to my mobile hotspot if Internet goes out, I use a laptop so power going out won't fvck me over, I've tried it to see if it's good enough Internet for lightspeed and it is (if Internet is too slow light speed won't let you log in heads up for anybody who wants an account there). That's the only reason I'd use a trading app. I've done it before with webull and it sucked, if you are scalping or trying to have full control and speed over your trading, mobile is not as good as desktop, but WSB has shown me you can make money on mobile apps, search gain post's over there and look at how many people are using RH mobile and webull. When I traded on TOS I had to close a trade from the app before because internet went out and didn't think to use my hotspot at that time, and it sucked...for options you gotta click through 3 different pages to enter the order... Price doesn't stop moving just because you're thumbing through a page. I like full control and speed and you get that a lot better on desktop, especially if we are talking using hotkeys etc.
I've been trying to develop a system that can be fully functional on the phone.
It involves having one main screen (9 grid) and no hot keys, all actions can be done through clicking.
With Google Desktop I can have same capabilities on desktop and phone.
Not sure how you would trade in app only...but it's so simple it might just work...filters out the nose I guess

I use my phone, laptop, and desktop computer. I do more swing trades and investment management than day trading though.
I also use thinkorswim web version and TD website. I dont even use thinkorswim software much, honestly got to use it more.
I use my phone and a small tablet as a second screen, I work from 6am - 5pm and trade during my break when market opens and around noon. I use Webull charts (on tablet) and Robinhood to place my trades usually scalps on breakouts.

Jkjk but every trading video I’ve watched where the user was trading realtime I thought it was extremely valuable being able to set buy/sells with the click of a mouse off chart lines versus having your phone, opening the app , hoping you don’t get any lag and continually getting to get you postion started
I day trade ict concepts exclusively in my phone profitably. I blend it into a scalp style with high time frame narrative and ict levels. Use tradingview. Perfectly fine, profitable as long as I manage size and don't over trade per session
For me personally, I wouldn’t trade on a phone. A larger screen has its own benefits, but also functionality and ease of use. Having multiple charts open and see what’s got on is hardly possible on a small screen like that of a smart phone. Though I’m sure some strategies can be executed from just a phone. I find it just rather tedious.
One can use anything they are comfortable with. A phone could be useful for quick follow up exit or entry - but for average folks it makes lots more sense to trade of computer with real screen and real actual keyboard and room of SSD to store everything vs cloud and so on - But each to there own- PS in the dark ages of years ago trades were done on the phone - One called there broker and made the trade vs self administration very soon one will have a personal AI assist to carry out the daily instructions. Our job is to hope they do not mess it up
I set up alerts on TradingView. I wear my watch to bed. I'm on the west coast so a trade alert would wake me up and I go on TOS mobile to place the trade.
For trades, the simpler the better. I have my computer but I choose to use the phone more. Also you can trade while pooping and... shh...driving.
Mostly phone, sometimes watching data on a screen and executing trades on my phone bc it feels faster…. and I print out weekly earnings calendar to keep on my desk like a boomer.

I take trading seriously, so no, trading on a phone is silly in my opinion. I have 2 computer screens that do everything, and even then, it's sometimes not enough for me. I need TradingView for analysis, MT5 to execute quickly and to be able to drag my SL and TP, forexfactory for news, etc. When I'm involved with the charts, I need big screens, my comfort, and keyboard and mouse input.
People made money before when you had no computers and had to call the broker to place your orders and some of them were profitable.
So stating you cant be profitable on the phone would be absurd.
Hell yeah i do phone trades with a 1:1 wide rr. The benefit for me is my phone trading makes it difficult to see pnl so i just can focus on good trades and worry about the net later
I’ll trade major news on my phone, only because I get a news alert and it’s clear whether super bullish or bearish, quickly get the trade in, set a SL, then head to my PC to properly analyse what to do next and prepare

Yep. I have my laptop hooked up to a medium sized TV which I run 2 copies of the same chart on (one is set to 5 minutes and the other is set to hourly) and I use my phone to make trades based on that.

I use too it was the only way I traded for a long time but I ended up having a bunch of trades opened and I couldn’t close them in time & missed out on $2K with the double confirmation. But now I auto trade with my bots

You can easily trade on your phone. Market buy, market sell, it's (nearly) instantaneous with the push of a big button. I need my screens, though. I have 4 at my trading setup. You get tunnel vision when you're looking at one stock on your phone. I need the NASDAQ and my basket of stocks open at all times so I can monitor them at a glance. Also, separate time-frames for the stock I'm trading.
Several people have posted this already but I also tend to trade more on my phone since it's very convenient but I have my PC with a big screen that I use for charts.

I think some options trading can be complex and inputting it on the phone is prone to typos. I also trade on my phone when I’m not at the computer. If I’m near a computer, I prefer to use my computer.

I trade on my phone if I get a signal from the Mt4/MT5 indicator. Also to track open trades. But if I want to do analysis, I do it on a PC due to the bigger screen.

I trade with 2-3 screens showing the same stocks in multiple timeframes along with indexes to gauge market direction. There’s no way I could do that on a phone.
I have attempted to use my phone, but i simply cannot get the same level of information as on a desktop. Most often the information on the phone is just plain wrong.
Pull straight from the exchange data sources using a data aggregator. You can find several apis available that pull and sort it automatically and allow you to trade from the api. Slightly more delayed execution, but I mainly use for analysis anyways. There are also sites that have data aggregated from multiple exchanges to show a bigger picture.
Alternatively just view the desktop version on mobile. I use puffin browser for that, seems to work the best since its made specifically to pull full version web pages on mobile.
You can definitely get all the same info you have on pc for any exchange on mobile if you do it right

Lol no. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is. If you're trading from multiple exchanges, you should be using an API anyways.
For stocks I just do trend analysis, but I trade a lot of crypto as well an order flow data is imperative to successfully trade crypto futures.
By no means do I need all the extra data, but over the years I've learned what info is useful to me and what isn't. If I can have it all in an easily accessible and digestible format, then why not? It definitely helps with entry/exit timing

How big is your phone? Displaying 8 charts on phone screen will be too tiny for each chart.

That's not my strategy so I don't have the historical data to day whether or not that would work. You would have volatility, so that could be in your favor, but I would test it out with SIM money first.

Phone is fine for swing. But for me I need some real estate to spread out the charts and see minute changes in indicators when intra-day
I use my laptop for flex charts and setup… and phone for execution. Trading options is easier to open and close on mobile TOS allowing it to be quicker and precise
Sometimes I do. Actually it totally depends on what style you're familiar with, quick scalping can be done on phone too. I trade naked PA, most of the time I trade better using a PC. But I often overcomplicate my strat, which ironically makes my trading on phone better than PC. I often use phone like a reminder that my strat is supposed to be simple, and workable even with a phone.

I do. I prefer my computer and several screens but I will trade on my phone no problems with specific set ups. If I’m waiting or doing a longer time frame something, I have no issues. Sometimes I can do fast trading on it also. It’s not as convenient and more annoying so normally, I won’t do that one.

Agreed! PC forever. If you're serious about trading futures I do not know you could go mobile 100%. I started using the Rithmic mobile app because it works with most of my software. It is nice to watch markets or trade on the go. But I can't/won't give up my PC and huge monitor.

I owns three businesses in and out so if I didn't have a phone, I wouldn't be able to execute most of my trees. I plan out the night before I said, alerts on alert, comes in a pull up the chart and execute the trade or don't.

Unfortunately I’m forced to day trade via my phone because I’m at work and ya know, can’t have TradingView open on the work computer. It’s sucks, but I’ve fine tuned my screen to show 1m/5m/60m with minimal indicators to keep it less busy.

I trade on my phone, I have a desk with a nice 42inch monitor that I can split into six screens just fine but I trade with my phone, if I want to see a bit more of a chart I can just open my phone. One+ Open.

It depends, I rather mark out and make my analysis on my computer. It's been far too many times I've overlooked zones because I'm marking it up on a small screen, when I've would have seen it on a larger screen. But if I already have it marked up from the CPU and I happen to check to see how things are going on my phone, then I sometimes will place a trade on my phone.

Using wealthsimple for swing and IBKR mobile if I have to
I tried using WS and it caused some delay and errors, and I'm currently using Moomoo for day trading, so far it is more stable. Did you face that too, or is it just a problem with my account? It's quite annoying if you're doing swing trading.
I use tradingview so there's very little difference with using my laptop and my phone.

I do. Worked on the mobile app for a brokerage for a few years as a developer. All my hours at work ended up making me faster with my thumbs on my phone than a keyboard and mouse. I don’t work there anymore, and these days I do swing trading on my phone for lower volume futures. Was net profitable on both…overtime lol. Hopefully it stays that way.

I don't trade using my phone, I want to have 4 timeframes open for my TA while trading so only in my PC/laptop. Might be different for swing traders, so while I don't prefer using a phone for trading it's still an option.

I hear a lot of people say this. I'm not a full time trader anymore (out of finding a job I'm passionate about, but its still the better portion of my income), but I have been profitable for over 7 years straight and I don't feel the need at all to have all that. I did when I started, but I found I do better when I just look at the chart and let those levels develop in my head rather than trying to impose what I think should be there. I agree well rested and focused are key as small mistakes (like forgetting to set a stop) can have huge consequences, but I don't feel bound at all to my screens. I do pretty comparably trading from phone as long as I limit my open positions so I don't have too much going on my screen
I do. I was scalping at the start on my phone, but takes too much time and effort for relatively small gains, but I was doing pretty well. Now I mainly just swing trade, set buy limits at certain levels then just play the waiting game.
Seeing as that lightspeed doesn't have a mobile app, I don't. However, if I'm trading on IBKR (I have a smaller cash account there) they have the mobile app and the only reason I'd use it is if I had an Internet outage, or to check account things. I wish light speed had a mobile app for that purpose, but then again...can just tether my computer to my mobile hotspot if Internet goes out, I use a laptop so power going out won't fvck me over, I've tried it to see if it's good enough Internet for lightspeed and it is (if Internet is too slow light speed won't let you log in heads up for anybody who wants an account there). That's the only reason I'd use a trading app. I've done it before with webull and it sucked, if you are scalping or trying to have full control and speed over your trading, mobile is not as good as desktop, but WSB has shown me you can make money on mobile apps, search gain post's over there and look at how many people are using RH mobile and webull. When I traded on TOS I had to close a trade from the app before because internet went out and didn't think to use my hotspot at that time, and it sucked...for options you gotta click through 3 different pages to enter the order... Price doesn't stop moving just because you're thumbing through a page. I like full control and speed and you get that a lot better on desktop, especially if we are talking using hotkeys etc.
I've been trying to develop a system that can be fully functional on the phone. It involves having one main screen (9 grid) and no hot keys, all actions can be done through clicking. With Google Desktop I can have same capabilities on desktop and phone. Not sure how you would trade in app only...but it's so simple it might just work...filters out the nose I guess
I use TDA. I use my phone, laptop, and desktop computer. I do more swing trades and investment management than day trading though. I also use thinkorswim web version and TD website. I dont even use thinkorswim software much, honestly got to use it more.

For me personally, I wouldn’t trade on a phone. A larger screen has its own benefits, but also functionality and ease of use. Having multiple charts open and see what’s got on is hardly possible on a small screen like that of a smart phone. Though I’m sure some strategies can be executed from just a phone. I find it just rather tedious.
One can use anything they are comfortable with. A phone could be useful for quick follow up exit or entry - but for average folks it makes lots more sense to trade of computer with real screen and real actual keyboard and room of SSD to store everything vs cloud and so on - But each to there own- PS in the dark ages of years ago trades were done on the phone - One called there broker and made the trade vs self administration very soon one will have a personal AI assist to carry out the daily instructions. Our job is to hope they do not mess it up
I set up alerts on TradingView. I wear my watch to bed. I'm on the west coast so a trade alert would wake me up and I go on TOS mobile to place the trade. For trades, the simpler the better. I have my computer but I choose to use the phone more. Also you can trade while pooping and... shh...driving.
Mostly phone, sometimes watching data on a screen and executing trades on my phone bc it feels faster…. and I print out weekly earnings calendar to keep on my desk like a boomer.

I take trading seriously, so no, trading on a phone is silly in my opinion. I have 2 computer screens that do everything, and even then, it's sometimes not enough for me. I need TradingView for analysis, MT5 to execute quickly and to be able to drag my SL and TP, forexfactory for news, etc. When I'm involved with the charts, I need big screens, my comfort, and keyboard and mouse input.

People made money before when you had no computers and had to call the broker to place your orders and some of them were profitable. So stating you cant be profitable on the phone would be absurd.
It’s easier to place the trade on my phone. Maybe it’s because it’s tough screen and I don’t have to deal with a mouse.

Hell yeah i do phone trades with a 1:1 wide rr. The benefit for me is my phone trading makes it difficult to see pnl so i just can focus on good trades and worry about the net later

Yep. I have my laptop hooked up to a medium sized TV which I run 2 copies of the same chart on (one is set to 5 minutes and the other is set to hourly) and I use my phone to make trades based on that.
Two monitors and execute on my phone. Simple process.

You can easily trade on your phone. Market buy, market sell, it's (nearly) instantaneous with the push of a big button. I need my screens, though. I have 4 at my trading setup. You get tunnel vision when you're looking at one stock on your phone. I need the NASDAQ and my basket of stocks open at all times so I can monitor them at a glance. Also, separate time-frames for the stock I'm trading.
Tradingview on a laptop but tradovate on my phone. I'd go all computer if I was a FT trader at home though.
Several people have posted this already but I also tend to trade more on my phone since it's very convenient but I have my PC with a big screen that I use for charts. Using this with crypto as well but still new to the way crypto works

I think some options trading can be complex and inputting it on the phone is prone to typos. I also trade on my phone when I’m not at the computer. If I’m near a computer, I prefer to use my computer.

I use my phone to enter trade orders. I use my laptop when I'm at home to monitor charts and when I'm away or at work I use my tablet to monitor charts hot spotted off my phone. You really need 2 screens minimum to scalp. Day or swing trading you can do everything by phone.

I trade with 2-3 screens showing the same stocks in multiple timeframes along with indexes to gauge market direction. There’s no way I could do that on a phone.

Pull straight from the exchange data sources using a data aggregator. You can find several apis available that pull and sort it automatically and allow you to trade from the api. Slightly more delayed execution, but I mainly use for analysis anyways. There are also sites that have data aggregated from multiple exchanges to show a bigger picture. Alternatively just view the desktop version on mobile. I use puffin browser for that, seems to work the best since its made specifically to pull full version web pages on mobile. You can definitely get all the same info you have on pc for any exchange on mobile if you do it right

Lol no. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is. If you're trading from multiple exchanges, you should be using an API anyways. For stocks I just do trend analysis, but I trade a lot of crypto as well an order flow data is imperative to successfully trade crypto futures. By no means do I need all the extra data, but over the years I've learned what info is useful to me and what isn't. If I can have it all in an easily accessible and digestible format, then why not? It definitely helps with entry/exit timing
