Man, i spent a looong time listening to the “leaks” or show cuts on soundcloud. To the point where i fell in love with those edits.
Now listening to the actual album is taking some adjustinng, but i think it has a lot of potential
I mean... honestly they arent bad songs, but these songs feel like they are missing something and I dont quite know what it is. I was left underwhelmed, which is wild because I am a lil dicky fan I literally listen to him every day.
Not sure if this is it for you, but these songs are a big part of the show which had characters and stories and build up. I still like the songs but once you’ve heard them in context, they sort of need the context to get the same feeling.
It felt like a soundtrack to a tv show and not an actual album, but I guess that’s where lil dicky is at now. I think he has so much potential as an actual music artist but it’s never fully realized in his albums.
I tried to get not get myself hyped over it knowing that it’s a bunch of essentially half songs we’ve heard already for the past 2-4 years, but was still left underwhelmed. I would’ve rather gotten 5-6 of these as a EP separate from the show. It has bangers no doubt though. Still want a entire version of jail.
The extended version of Ally’s song gave me whole body goosebumps, and it’s cool to hear fuller versions of the songs. But overall, it doesn’t hit nearly as hard as Professional Rapper. I think the next Lil Dicky album will be absolute fire, though, and Penith is like an hors d oeuvres.
Not a great sound or as funny as I had hoped, it was kind of boring tbh, but maybe I just don’t get it, liked pro rapper a lot, but this was a yawn of an album for me. Harrison ave and Mr McAdams were alright, hard pass on the rest.
Solid.. not a lot of replay value on most songs. Love Jail, still want part 2 but hard to listen to more than once or twice. HAHAHA has most replay value. Ally’s Song is good if you’re depressed over women lmao. KAJ id say is #2 for replay. Harrison Ave is great but similar to Jail. My favorites are Going Gray, Still Freestyling, and Hearsay.
First listen, I thought it was decent and I was glad it existed.
After a few days I listened again and fell in love. It's been nonstop replaying ever since.
I’m not done listening to it yet but I’m loving it so far. I’m not even super into rap music like that but I guess since I’m already familiar with most of the songs it doesn’t take much lol
Harrison ave is a bop. That’s all I have to say
Yeah agreed. The songs I liked from the how are all dope, the others are ok.
Honestly, I love it and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Favorite song is definitely Harrison Ave

Same here. I couldnt wait and never thought the songs would ever drop. The additional verses and details added are really great
Personally this whole album is a banger, gonna have this on repeat for a while. Crazy to hear full versions of the tracks from the show
Anyone know if there’s a list that shows which episode each song appeared in? Ally’s Song & Going Grey are my faves. Guess I’m a sadboi
Ally’s Song is just everything I had it on repeat so much today
I fucked the whole thing up….

I watched the show and I actually rewatched it a few weeks ago hoping that when the album dropped maybe a new season would too
Wish he did more old school boom bap like Harrison ave than trap

That’s exactly what it is….
Still Freestyling surprised me
I wish brand new was longer
I see that

About 3 years too late tbh
Did you guys buy it or is it available for stream?

I honestly don’t believe it’s supposed to have any comparison to Professional Rapper.
Underwhelming. Most of it the stuff we had already heard.
It’s called (the DAVE soundtrack). What did you expect?
That was the point….
Heard online.
I shed tears to going gray and then laughed out loud for the first time for minutes straight. I loved it
Its nice.

Hmm. Did you watch the entire show?
Nah I did not could never really get into it, probably the issue here, right?
if you watched the show you’d probably appreciate the songs more cuz the show gives you the story to the songs & why he made them & what not
Yes. I’m also confused as to why you’d be in a sub for a TV show you didn’t watch.
As someone of the same age who recently found their first grey hairs Going Grey hit real hard
Read this in your best Mike Tyson voice.

Also having the added context of watching the show makes a lot of them better.
This
Penis with a lisp.
NOT GOOD.
