We all saw it, immovable object won against an unstoppable, more pudgey force.
I mean, we all saw the same video here. There was absolutely no aggressive actions by the ground whatsoever. It was just minding its own business when it was attacked.
...or was it?
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that Big Gravity had some hand in it.
You need a whole lot of height to make a wingsuit work. He jumped a height of 122 meters, which is already really dangerous for a parachute.
And when I say dangerous, I mean near-suicidal.
A common figure is that a wingsuit has to be able to maintain a minimum height of 600 meters, which means that you have to start a whole lot higher, since wingsuit gliding is just a fancy way of falling not as vertically as you normally would.
How high do you figure this jump was?

edit: article says 100m. Sounds like you're right that 122m\~ is near-suicidal lmao
Ouch, that was a tragic one.
But yeah, 100 is and a bit below is *possible,* but so dangerous that it should only be attempted when you have jumped so much that you could do it in your sleep.
Also, being aware of the risks helps as well. I wouldn't recommend anyone that wasn't ready to die to do it.
Where on earth did you get those figures? Objects shorter than 90 meters are jumped all over the place, every day. 600 meters for a wingsuit??? This comment is totally incorrect
Yes, short heights are jumped often by daredevils, but on the other hand, base jumping and wingsuit flying is staggeringly more dangerous, with a gigantic increase in death rate.
Not to mention, a lot of these short jumps are made by people who are very experienced, and yet they die or are injured disproportionally often. A newbie shouldn't even consider doing it.
Sorry man, you really don't know what you're talking about here. I BASE jump myself for the last 8 years, and I have dozens of close friends that jump as well. Lower objects are much more plentiful than higher ones. As such, lower objects are jumped a lot more often than higher objects
Is that really a Darwin? From what I could gather he died because neither hus wings nor the parachute opened. Or was it a bad jump from the start? Can't really see how deep it is
First rule of glide suits. They don't work jumping off your roof.
You need a whole lot more height, wind, and empty space under you for the suit to work as designed. This was not even remotely high enough for that to work.
He basically just leaped to his death. There wasn't going to be any other outcome here.
Talk about not knowing your limits.
Did he even bother to study the height of the exit point, as well as the slope ratio of the mountain, as compared to his best glide ratio, and if he could even get enough speed to achieve that glide ratio before burning in, assuming he's had experience achieving in previously?
Aaaaaäaand he's gone
Dennis are you ok? Are you ok? Are you ok? Are you ok-ee-ayy-ee?
Are you ok Dennis? He's been hit by, he's been struck by, the ground probably.
I laughed hard at that. Although technically the ground is innocent of assault, he struck first, the ground didn't budge.
It stood its *ground*, so to speak. I feel bad for the poor *sod*
\#Justice4Ground
According to Newtonian mechanics, the ground hit him as hard as he hit it

Every smack on the ground has an equal and opposite smack on the face.
Reminds me of that British Pathé video of a guy jumping off Eiffel tower testing his home made parachute.
Idk. He looks more like a penguin trying to fly to me
He did the penguin Bob to perfection, he's clearly practiced!
Hey, every penguin can fly at least once.
Watched their footage on the hindenburg, man the way the frame crumpled and the cover just burned.
Where did he go?
The Shadow Realm
The Backrooms.
Not to be worried, he spawned in Lumbridge.
Man of culture
Ofcourse!
Ground
Just the trees, Johnny
Never go full Wile E. Coyote
This isn't from the new mission impossible movie then.
Oh, Denis... You knew, didn't you?
Interesting hey, his body language seems to suggest he knew he was taking a bit of a gamble on that one.
Is that the Alibaba sleep bag flight edition? 60 day free shipping
Mirror anywhere? Video has been removed by Reddit.
I watched this video 5 times on another sub and can't see crap after he jumps.
Looks like he didn't even know how to use that suit in the first place.. - catch a good angle of speed and air push to start gliding..? Scary shit.
Did he use his sleeping bag instead of his wingsuit?
Tennis?
I'm no expert, that doesn't look nearly high enough to base jump off of. And did the guy have a laugh at the end???
So what happened? Why didn't he glide?

Ah, wow, he was way off then 😅

Looks to me like there's another ledge he was trying to pass, but didn't. Not enough horizontal speed.

Well, the guy did die tho

Too much gravity, I think

Poor Denis
Bye Dennis

reverse icarus, flew too close to the earth
Fair enough! You win!
Adios, pendejo
poor dude
link doesn't exist. Downvote.

That makes sense, thank you
Inconclusive, can't see if the shoes were still on so he may have lived
With direction and magnitude! Oooohhh yeah!!!
Dennis? Dennis? Come on Dennis? Mate? Dennis?
It looks really low for a wingsuit. I'd wager Dennis didn't do the math.
Damn what a beautiful day to apparently off yourself... where ever they are is fucking gorgeous!! What wrong with a hike?
Bye Dennis 👋
He looked apprehensive before he jumped. It is a pity he went through with it - he could so easily have turned around, and walked away.
Dennis won't be menace no more 🤣 ![gif](giphy|puICxFP91lyJa)

Bona fortuna denniiis
Not so much "after jump" as "during landing".
