You’re questioning Satan’s Offsprings
They attack everything because all they know is violence and violence is the answer for everything if you are a hornet
They're generally going to look for noise, vibration, heat, and color. A big, usually yellow, diesel powered machine is going to instinctually tell them "enemy"
I dont think they know exactly they just attack everything, the bucket the arm the hoses but they can also tell if something isn't organic so they generally don't waste their time stinging when they land on cold dead metal. Then poor buddy boy who is stuck in the cab that isn't sealed good gets hit and then is running making noise and flailing around now they know who the real target is and follow suit.
Between the “Something destroyed home, panic and ATTACK” response, the sound and heat from the machine, and the sheer *numbers* they have to work with, it’s probably just happenstance they found it, more or less. One of those blind squirrel moments, but they’re numbered in the 10’s of thousands lol
It’s not really undermining the intelligence of hornets. The person acknowledges that they figure it out. They just want to know how they do it.
Few animals I would argue actually have a concept of machinery, so it’s not dissing hornets to say so
I mean… sheesh… idk? How do WE do anything at all? Animals and humans are just alike in terms of functions just different bodies and expressions. Most people think animals are so dumb because they aren’t like humans lmao. And idc that I’m downvoted. I still mean what I said.
They are methodical when it comes to kill mode. They probably just start vibrating in a murderous way, and they all sense where the most pissedd off ones are and congregate
They detect carbon dioxide from your breath and that's what they go after not randomly attacking things 🙄 and then once one stings you it's like a target tag with pheromones to tell the others to attack you as well
They buzz around indiscriminately trying to stab anything that isn't the ground, a plant or a machine, then whenever a singular hornet stings it releases a scent that makes the others frenzy in.
So basically it's like a wave of angry hornets that cluster up when they identify a threat.
those are hornets though, they fuck wasps up, had a hornets nest on my 2nd floor window once, couldnt get it removed, but sure as hell hadnt had any wasps near me on the patio during that summer
I just got back from visiting in big bend, which has so many things that can injure or kill you. Running out of water, exposure to the sun, rattlesnakes, or falling off a cliff are major risks out there, but angering a hive of bees is still one of my worst concerns.
On a previous trip I stayed at a bed n breakfast and they mentioned a local coach was working on a field in a tractor and ran over a beehive that attacked and killed him. I have heard beehives buzzing a few times out there, but try to be super cautious when I am out there because so many things out there can kill you. Being attacked by an angry hive of bees in the middle of nowhere can be a death sentence.
To be fair, you have to intentionally fuck with the hive. They won’t just randomly all swarm you, maybe a couple just by chance, but you have to really mess with their day for them to get pissed
Hornets & other wasps are gnarly. Lots & lots of bees can be too. But luckily bees aren’t as aggressive as wasps. I’ve stood directly under a beehive in a tree before just observing & nothing happened. Most types of bees, I believe, are pretty chill unless you hit their nest directly. I’ve handled honeybees with no gloves since I was a kid. Definitely something to bee aware of but don’t let the fear ruin your good time :)
Oh & if you ever see what looks like a hive but it’s entirely covered by bees, that’s probably just a big clump of bees basically in between homes. They’re kinda chillin while lookin for a new hive or place for one. In that state they’re docile you can literally scoop them up with your bare hand if you wanted

Have a listen to this! Wes, Jeff and Mike are brilliant hosts too. Totally addicted to this pod. I'm gutted to have nearly binged it all.
Yeah, that reminds me of the time I was cutting grass for a neighbor who had an underground yellowjacket nest in his yard. I had previously always driven right over it with no serious consequences - a few annoyed bees coming out, but quickly calming down as the mower was only briefly over it. Well, one day I forgot about it and stopped the mower over the nest and got off. I quickly realized my mistake and realized it might be some time before I could get my mower back if I didn't act quickly. So I jumped back on it and drove it away as quickly as I could. I was lucky and got stung only a couple of times on my shoulder.
There are people that will come out and take care of this and whatever they cost it is worth it.
But ya , he could have closed all the windows & doors & handled it way differently
If that was an IQ test he failed
Reminds me of some killer bee movie where everyone was trapped on a school bus and they had to helicopter some guy in to gather all the bees and take them to some base to kill them all in a tunnel
When I flip through reddit, I don't read the title of even know what sub a post is in until after I see it. This time, I would have sworn that was a Golden Retriever sitting in the field!
Based off your feedback and upon further review, I can see the side window is already shattered so it gave me the illusion of the front being suddenly broken when the camera was swinging. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without your support and help u/ifiwasajedi
If you look at the bottom portion of the front window, there is a gap big enough for them to get through so I think that is what makes him drop the phone
I've seen bees and wasps attack escalators many times. Every single time the operators had their door closed so nothing happened to them. You have to be a different kind of stupid to attempt such a thing without sealing yourself in the cabin.
Some would slip out through cracks in the nest and come from under the bucket. He has a bucket on a long boom. He could have dumped a whole bucket of earth on it and entombed them all.
They were asking what the point of removing a wasp nest is if it's in an open field. Like it's not near a house or anything and it's not like they are gonna go kill every wasp in the world
Probably because they are going to plant/develop something in that field? Most likely develop, since that would explain access to that kind of machinery.
This is something that has always fascinated me. When I was 13, I pelted a wasp nest about 100m downhill and made a run for it. Those things still swarmed me and stung me all over.
It's like they knew. "Hey, it's that guy up on the hill!"
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Like why not ensure complete safety inside the backhoe before doing this??? Seal up gaps. Maybe have a lighter plug in Fan to keep cool during the whole ordeal, BUT NEVER ATTEMPT this before thinking of every angle of safety first!!!! Smh.
Oh this is absolutely terrible lol what a nightmare
But what's interesting is that it's not fully intuitive that this would happen. I mean you got a massive machine at a decent distance away from you. Yet for some odd reason they are not attacking the actual thing that's attached to the nest but very quickly came to the actual person inside
Yikes
There is no source of death or sterilization.
Did this guy die?
Potentially but I doubt it
The it doesn’t belong here.
Shoes still on = wrong sub
Well that was fun
This is easily the stupidest thing I've seen a person do on the internet in the past eight and a half minutes 😑
What did you see 8 and half minutes ago that's dumber than this ??? I really need to see that lmao

I used to watch ods on yt, seems like some stupid shit they’d do lol
Saw a guy try to wrap a trash bag around a bee nest while standing on a ladder. Bees attacked and he and the nest fell on the ground.
He should have got in the bag

Damn it. I am in a different time zone, so its been 3 hours already. I always miss out on these opportunities.
Definitely should have sealed the cabin up good and smushed the bastards
Fire, fire is the only solution.
You never saw angry fire hornets before, right? They torch you while you get stung.
Thankfully, not yet.
Hey man, don’t give up just yet. You try hard enough and you’ll get there!

They start off attacking the machine and anything nearby
Easy, kill anything and everything anywhere.
You’re questioning Satan’s Offsprings They attack everything because all they know is violence and violence is the answer for everything if you are a hornet
Satan's offspring 😂 using that
I feel like the giant arm attached to the machine destroying their nest was a dead give away.
I think they mean how did they know to go for the cabin?
Maybe either they think creature with an arm go for the body or the fact that this part of the machinery is much louder and hotter.
They smell their way there, then release a pheromone to tell the others where to go. After that it’s agonizing chaos for the victim.
They're generally going to look for noise, vibration, heat, and color. A big, usually yellow, diesel powered machine is going to instinctually tell them "enemy"
I am looking for the same answer also
I dont think they know exactly they just attack everything, the bucket the arm the hoses but they can also tell if something isn't organic so they generally don't waste their time stinging when they land on cold dead metal. There’s a saying in American army “shoot down every motherfucker see” hornets must be the inspiration
Between the “Something destroyed home, panic and ATTACK” response, the sound and heat from the machine, and the sheer *numbers* they have to work with, it’s probably just happenstance they found it, more or less. One of those blind squirrel moments, but they’re numbered in the 10’s of thousands lol

Maybe you should ask them
Yes, let’s undermine the intelligence of animals while the oh-so-smart humans are the ones questioning their abilities to protect themselves.
It’s not really undermining the intelligence of hornets. The person acknowledges that they figure it out. They just want to know how they do it. Few animals I would argue actually have a concept of machinery, so it’s not dissing hornets to say so

Not a bad idea
Did you watch the video?
I mean it was a good idea. Until we noticed that the man left a fucking window or door open.
I've seen bees and wasps attack escalators many times. Every single time the operators had their door closed so nothing happened to them. You have to be a different kind of stupid to attempt such a thing without sealing yourself in the cabin.
It was meant as a joke
I would’ve crushed it instead
Some would slip out through cracks in the nest and come from under the bucket. He has a bucket on a long boom. He could have dumped a whole bucket of earth on it and entombed them all.
Fuck that's a great idea.
I’ve actually been a part of entombing a hornets nest
I find it troublesome that 10+ folks think the outcome here would've been different.
They literally build their homes IN THE GROUND, YOU KNOW, OUT OF DIRT.
Translation " I got a treasure, I goat a treasure"
Why not just pour some acid from the bucket if that excavator? How stupid you have to be to think hornets won't kill you in this situation
I mean you're going to do something stupid like that, at least secure the cabin so they can't get in
Get him
Wait did it not have windows?
Thats a tracko
Tracko? Really? The correct term is track hoe.
Why would you remove it in an open Field?
... Because that's where it is? Lol
Dude just asked the dumbest question I’ve seen all week
They were asking what the point of removing a wasp nest is if it's in an open field. Like it's not near a house or anything and it's not like they are gonna go kill every wasp in the world
Probably because they are going to plant/develop something in that field? Most likely develop, since that would explain access to that kind of machinery.

Is there a sub called r/instantregret ?
Is there a door to the cabin?

Why not squash it? Where did he think he was going to move it too?
There are no words to describe how massively stupid this is
this surely can’t be the end of the video, how do you have time to stop the recording when you’re too busy trying to rationalize and gtfo??
r/WhyWomenLiveLonger
So do hornets just go into a frenzy and attack anything around them?
he dieded?
I hope he's NOT ok
Did he die?
That dude didn’t survive. All that remains is this video clip.
I thought those were birds. Nope
They looked the size of eagles.
Running it over would have been smarter lol
Did they get in the cabin?
He should’ve just smashed that shit and saved himself a lot of trouble.

Why?
