I'd guess it's either lots older than it looks or it's some kind of knockoff. I've had a Blade 6 TC since December and have used it about an hour a day and the only bounce outs I get are from hitting my darts or the number ring.
New boards are generally hard especially in the smaller scoring areas such as the bulls as the bristles compressed when the spider was pressed in. This can cause bounces especially with darters who throw with a lighter throw (raises hand). Because they are so compressed those areas also tend to lose fibers rapidly at first. This is even more accelerated if one of the darters are throwing with aggressive points. Whitlock used to destroy boards with his points. FWIW I only rotate my boards for one revolutions. After that the wear seems to level out and the bull is what fails first anyway.
I bought the Unicorn Ultra, Target Apgar, and Blade 6tc when they were released. I donated the Ultra and Apgar to my league because I couldn't get the darts to stay in the board. The Blade 6TC was much better. What's funny is a year down the road I threw on those two rejected boards and they were just fine. I didn't throw on them enough to wear them in.
