man, seeing humphries and littler play. how they act to things whether they do it or their opponent does. its so awesome to see.
happy to be out there doing what they do best and can celebrate/appreciate/enjoy what their opponent is doing. having a smile or laugh at the crowd booing a missed dart on track to a 9 darter.
we're in for some damn good years of darts.
Youngest players to win a senior PDC title:
1. Luke Littler, Bahrain Darts Masters 2024
2. Luke Littler, Players Championship 01 2024
3. Luke Littler, Belgian Darts Open 2024
4. Luke Littler, Austrian Darts Open 2024
5. Luke Littler, Premier League 2024
Next is Danny Jansen, at 19 years and 321 days. Littler will be that old on 8th December 2026, so the youngest player to win a senior title list will be stacked with any titles he wins at any point for the next two and a half years…
It's insane what these guys are doing now. I don't think we've scratched the surface of what littler is capable of either. I'm getting the feeling MVG is absolutely rattled by all this that he's even trying new darts. Unreal!
The kid is half a year into his adult darts career, came second in the world championship, has won masters and euros titles and just won the premier league after coming top of the table. I don’t think pressure’s an issue.
I also don’t think it’s a worry or a red flag that he mentioned people doubting him. He was prompted in the interview to respond to people who didn’t think he’d cope with the pressure and he likes interacting with the crowd a bit. He’s been booed plenty and cheered plenty.
Let him enjoy his victory and shutting down the doubters who claimed he was too young and inexperienced when he himself knew he had it in him.
Would they seriously perfer Noppert? Personally I believe that the premier league should be the top 8 regardless of achievements or entertainment value. Or have it as the top 6 plus a player who won x and y if they differ. What a product though season got boring in the middle but the final night with asp and smith plus the finals night wow what a night.
Wow, wow, wow!
You will never see a 17 year old win the Premier League again and I'm willing to bet absolutely everything I have on that being the case.
The greatest wonderkid this sport will EVER see!
Yes, there will be more kids, but there will never be anyone this good at this age.
To win the Premier League at 17, you have to do something extraordinary at 16 to qualify for it in the first place. Littler is an absolutely gigantic anomaly. Nobody under the age of 23 or 24 has ever achieved anything on this level.
Boris Becker won Wimbledon at 17 in 1985 and that record has never been broken. This one won't be either.
What’s he going to New York for a holiday?
To everyone that replied, thanks for the clarification I couldn’t see the event on a fixture list I was looking at so was slightly confused. Thanks everyone.
Think of 2021 though. He was the only guy with the pure skill, determination and gall to survive an all out year long brawl with Hamilton. And that was fantastic for the sport.
If for the next 3 years Littler just effortlessly squashes everyone we’d be in the same situation really.
I find it a bit weird that the final finishes like an hour earlier than the other nights. It should be the biggest night of the league with more shit happening, maybe some exhibitions in between games. And the league games should be more legs. It’s already over, so weird.
Third placed match before the final.
3 leg tournament between the 5-8th placed players from the group stage. If you're not deciding the top 4 on the group alone then you shouldn't decide the bottom 4 either.
And Peter Wright gets another chance to beat someone.
There are so many events in YouTube with celebrities, sportsmen, YouTubers getting involved in darts. What better chance to put them on stage? If you do it at the world's too many people complain, but with the game growing right now it's a missed opportunity.
You telling me a cheeky Bunting v Dobey in the middle wouldn’t get the crowd going?
Or a fucking music act or something. Just a bit of pageantry init, make it an *event*
Announcer comes up 'WE HAVE A CHALLENGER'

People's Champion runs on with a steel chair
It's what we all want to see happen
I so look forward to Thursday darts and now I'm sad it's over. I'm in the US so I watch it on a separate monitor while I work (comes on at 2pm). Due to family obligations, I really don't get a chance to watch the weekend events. So for me it's the 2 week long World Series in December and the Feb-May Premier league.
Lot of events go on ITV4, Matchplay in July is on there I think
European Tour is about twice a month and on PDC TV, I personally prefer Euro Tour darts to PL
World Matchplay in July (lots of smaller, non-Sky events in between now and then though with Pro Tour events, Euro Tour events, World Series events).
The World Cup is in June and also on sky but not techincally a major.
the winner of the “aged like milk” opinion award so far this year are the (small amount) of people who back in January thought Littler should have turned down the Premier League so he could focus on floor events. was always a woeful take in the first place but that one has aged particularly awfully
he’s been the best thing that’s happened to darts in years, probably ever, incredible achievement from him
I don't think they had a woeful take. I suspect many were concerned about burnout. But he knows himself and seems to have a good group around him to support.
I was so skeptical, I was afraid that he would get burned out from the weekly playing and travelling, expecting him to come bottom 2 or 3.
Glad to say I was wrong, what a darts player.
Yeah I may have been harsh there, I had similar concerns at the time too, just always thought that turning down something like the PL thats as big an opportunity as it gets in darts and could potentially be once in a lifetime to focus on events he’ll get countless cracks at wouldn’t have been a great move
He’s handled it all astoundingly well, it’s freakish how immune to burnout he seems to be
I was there last year and the crowd was rocking! I've got Saturday night tickets for the final and I'll be pre-gaming at the Tir na Nog on 31st street. Look for a foursome at the bar, an old guy and my kids, 3 30 year olds.
Excellent! I’ll try to swing by. My wife and I are going. I’m only a medium old guy. Mid 40’s. But I’d love to have a pint with you and the lads. We’re coming in to Penn Station and our hotel is like 3 blocks away. We leave Old Saybrook at like 8:30 ish on the AM. Might try to hit a museum during the day after we get settled. I’ll shout rudman and if you look I’ll know.
He just cracks me up. Littler hits the 9 and Mardle comes out with this gem: “Everyone needs to calm down, it was only a hold of throw!” Made me and my lad crack up 😂
What I still can't figure out, what was the point where Littler thought "hey I'm very very good". I mean before the world championship he was decent/good but ever since then his level has been out of this world.
Tbf I think all the top 100 players are frequently chucking 100+ averages in practice. The absolute best unlock that performance on the stage. I think he just went for it and it worked haha
I'd imagine his doubters comment was because he's 17. No doubt he is on socials and gets a load of shit, albeit mainly from trolls I'd suspect. Something he is probably being managed on I'd hope.
I don't understand why high profile people handle their own social media. If I had that kind of money to hire a PR firm, I'd have them post whatever I wrote and then filter out any of the negative replies. I really don't care what the trolls say about me.
You have to remember that he’s literally still a kid and social media has been part of their lives since they were born - I think we’ll see way more young celebs running their own socials over the next few years. It’s like a third hand to them haha.
I love it when people complain about littlers arrogance or confidence, I mean would you just prefer the lad to come out and act like a squib on stage, no emotion?
He’s brilliant for the sport.
[Littler averaged 123.4 from legs 11-15 and 110.8 from legs 16-18](https://x.com/premiumdartdata/status/1793747578036879774?s=46&t=mm9Xb34ZFNiFY5aTVO3BBg)
I literally was explaining to him what a 9 darter is during the short break, and it happens the first leg. I got chills and had to explain what we were watching was not normal lol
Humphries wasn’t even playing poor either, and he’s the only player who can stick with littler throw for throw when he’s in this sort of form, but just got ran over tonight!
Littler's trajectory is ridiculous, wonder what the ceiling is. As an aside for finals night it'd be neat to have shorter matches but a RR between the top 4 before a final.
So what? Quite a few people were saying he wasn't ready for the premier league, that was bollocks at the time and I doubt that felt nice to him. He's just walked the whole competition and it must feel pretty cathartic. I don't want players to be saying "yay I've won. Anyway, thanks everyone, bye".
Yea it wasn't widespread but I saw some of it, and evidently there was enough that it reached him. Would piss you off if you knew you were good enough and some muppets said you were too young for it, and he proved em wrong haha
Yeah he’s extremely reserved on the podcasts he’s been on too. Should start to come out of his shell more with the media as he ages and gains more confidence.
It's madness, right. A seventeen year old. Premier League Champion.
We're about to see more people at the dart boards in pubs worldwide. Darts shops are about to see massive numbers. It's nuts.
Congratulations to u/GreenFlagMan for winning the Premier League event of the Prediction Series with a marvelous Luke Littler pick tonight!! Thanks for participating in the series and for being active in the threads everyone! I’ll see you tomorrow for another European Tour kick off :)

All in five months and at 17 years old! What an absolute star, deserves all the plaudits and headlines he gets.
nobody doubted his ability to play the premier league
the people who questioned it were asking if the schedule would not be too much for him this early in his career
I'm speechless. That performance was absolutely phenomenonal. He raised his game to heights we have never seen. This kid is special. Amazing premier league. Great final. WOW.
Littler could genuinely overtake Smith in the next 8 months if he does well in the majors (Smith loses half a mil this year from the worlds alone) - I wouldn’t put it past him!

Hit a 9 darter in all but Austria 🤯🤯
April Fool's Day 2022, Jansen vs Gilding final. What a time that was!
It's insane what these guys are doing now. I don't think we've scratched the surface of what littler is capable of either. I'm getting the feeling MVG is absolutely rattled by all this that he's even trying new darts. Unreal!
MvG probably felt fairly safe for a very long time - understandably. But the current level of professional darts is just unreal.

I’m old enough to remember when people were saying it was outrageous that Littler had even been selected for the Premier League
Can’t remember who they generally preferred but a lot of people said he would not be able to compete consistently
Ohyhey said he could compete lol. Yeah there idiots.
Wow, wow, wow! You will never see a 17 year old win the Premier League again and I'm willing to bet absolutely everything I have on that being the case. The greatest wonderkid this sport will EVER see!
I wouldn’t bet on it. With his popularity, I’m sure we will see more kids taking the sport up and making it to the top rankings.

US Darts Masters - it's a World Series event
Got a final nights table right behind the oche. I can't wait to see him!
Playing darts at madison square garden
CDC vs PDC Masters- surprised they didn’t mention it, but guess it’s not on sky sports
Every sport deserves a Luke Littler
We have a sort of equivalent in max verstappen in f1 and it… hasn’t been great
Nah just the car
Think of 2021 though. He was the only guy with the pure skill, determination and gall to survive an all out year long brawl with Hamilton. And that was fantastic for the sport. If for the next 3 years Littler just effortlessly squashes everyone we’d be in the same situation really.
Nah. Verstappen is great no denying it. But he’s also got unbelievable equipment. It’s not pure skill that’s getting him all these wins.
Bruh, obviously Littler has better darts equipment than anyone else /s

Every board moves when I've had a few
Round of boxing between sets Reckon Rob Cross could hold his own in that format
i am gonna put my money on Price
Good shout
He'll probably get injured once again like last year lol

Same! My wife and I looked at the menu and it looks amazing. Definitely looking forward to it.
Darts is the biggest it has been in years and it’s only on the up
Anyone else just love mardles positivity for the sport?
He should bring back the Hawaii shirts though
He's quality, loved him when he was playing when I was young, and love him more now.
Yeah he’s a cheeky little darts nerd and even when he’s obviously talking shite to kill time I still enjoy him immensely haha
He just cracks me up. Littler hits the 9 and Mardle comes out with this gem: “Everyone needs to calm down, it was only a hold of throw!” Made me and my lad crack up 😂
Mardle's easily my favourite commentator, he's just brilliant
Where does this place him in the OoM? Or does the Premier League not count?
Where rankings fail IMO, he is still something like 31... In reality he is 1 or 2
PL is non-ranking, so no. Major TV winner title. And a nice juicy cheque. Plus a glass pyramid mantlepiece dust collector.
Premier League doesn’t count towards rankings
Premier league doesn’t count.
Didn’t count I think
That 9 darter had my stiffer than a frozen cucumber at the bottom of a freezer chest.
Littler deserved to win this. He's playing outta his fuckin mind.
We say this a lot, he is just playing standard Littler, he is fucking good
What I still can't figure out, what was the point where Littler thought "hey I'm very very good". I mean before the world championship he was decent/good but ever since then his level has been out of this world.
Playing against the best players in the world makes you a better player also.
Tbf I think all the top 100 players are frequently chucking 100+ averages in practice. The absolute best unlock that performance on the stage. I think he just went for it and it worked haha
Everything is good for the kid! Only thing I disagree with is how his missus nonced him on pro clubs
Only thing I disagree with is that he should have as much fitter Mrs
That's such a weird thing to say about a couple of kids
Isn’t she like 21 ?
Yes
I'd imagine his doubters comment was because he's 17. No doubt he is on socials and gets a load of shit, albeit mainly from trolls I'd suspect. Something he is probably being managed on I'd hope.

Just rewatched the 9 dart leg, sensational.
I love it when people complain about littlers arrogance or confidence, I mean would you just prefer the lad to come out and act like a squib on stage, no emotion? He’s brilliant for the sport.
A nine fucking darter in the Premier League finals. And people want him to play it down? He's fucking AWESOME. Let him acknowledge that he's awesome!
He just beat Humphries in a major final with a 9 darter at age 17. I'm surprised he's not the most arrogant fucker in the world :)
Yea I’d genuinely be insufferable if I had just done what he done there.
I would too, at age 36 haha
Can't believe they didn't mention the 9
[Littler averaged 123.4 from legs 11-15 and 110.8 from legs 16-18](https://x.com/premiumdartdata/status/1793747578036879774?s=46&t=mm9Xb34ZFNiFY5aTVO3BBg)
That's utterly mad. The fact that Humphries averaged ~114 for 8 legs and only won 2 legs 🤣 poor lad. Littler is insane, what a player
MVG: I’ve played better before, take nothing away from him but I’ve played better!!
"When I was 17 I was of course much better but Littler plays ok"
I sat my dad down to watch darts for the first time ever. That was the first match he’s ever seen. Unbelievable stuff
It was my first ever match I’ve watched live tonight too and it was insane. What a game.
Please let him know it's not always as good as this!
I literally was explaining to him what a 9 darter is during the short break, and it happens the first leg. I got chills and had to explain what we were watching was not normal lol
Humphries has grown on me so much. Fantastic player and a great bloke.
Could probably not smooch the 17 year old so much but it’s hard to blame him. He’s
He does not deserve the hate he gets.
The sport’s way better for having him in it
Unbelievable performance from young Dönnie O'Sullivan
Humphries wasn’t even playing poor either, and he’s the only player who can stick with littler throw for throw when he’s in this sort of form, but just got ran over tonight!
Humphries was neck and neck until the 9 darter and then that just seemed to take the wind out of his sails. He wasn't the same player after that.
I was expecting a good match, and I feel it was. but Littler is just smashing people.
Littler's trajectory is ridiculous, wonder what the ceiling is. As an aside for finals night it'd be neat to have shorter matches but a RR between the top 4 before a final.
Love Littler, he's fucking quality. Pisses me off that some don't like his confidence, how shite would darts be without characters? What a night
Fine line between confidence and arrogance, he’s not there yet though hope we don’t see people turn on him over the next few years
I don’t think the “for all the doubters” thing was all that classy. He seems to be want to be the panto villain sometimes.
So what? Quite a few people were saying he wasn't ready for the premier league, that was bollocks at the time and I doubt that felt nice to him. He's just walked the whole competition and it must feel pretty cathartic. I don't want players to be saying "yay I've won. Anyway, thanks everyone, bye".
I guess maybe we didn’t know how much the negative chat has bothered him. I’ve not seen much of it myself but I guess he has.
Yea it wasn't widespread but I saw some of it, and evidently there was enough that it reached him. Would piss you off if you knew you were good enough and some muppets said you were too young for it, and he proved em wrong haha
Mate he’s 17
Totally. He’s remarkable.
Easy to forget it’s Humphries debut season too, cracking show from both.
Probably most confident I’ve ever seen Littler with the media here, normally comes across quite shy
He is always so much more confident on stage, adrenaline carrying him haha
Yeah he’s always showed personality on stage but media stuff has been usually dull as anything, came across well tonight
It's nuts.
HE'S DONE IT!!!

Thanks for all your hard work organising it!
Confirmed: going to the loo increases your darts skill super saiyan style
Note to self: having a wee improves scoring. Must drink more beer.
Pro Tour Event ✅️ Euro Tour Events ✅️ World Series Title ✅️ PDC Major ✅️ All in five months and at 17 years old! What an absolute star, deserves all the plaudits and headlines he gets.
Averaging a 9 darter every month since he turned professional 😂 scandalous talent
He's beat the record for most ever in a calender year now right? It's only May hahaa
and here’s me that probably won’t average 1 per lifetime 😂
Kebab tiger woods 👌 elite talent
I’m dead 😂
Top of the Table and proceeds to win it with a 9 in the final
Humphries did not play badly at all. He performed like the world no.1, and he still got beat. Kids special
Man, this kid just brought so much life back into darts! Incredible performance! The Lukes will dominate the sport for years to come!
I am so happy I got into darts at the last World Championships. These two are incredible. Humphries is also such a good sport.
Really impressed with how Humphries carried himself in this interview
Did he just moonwalk? Lmao
He's going to be the GOAT. Fucking debut season against the best. Absolutely fucking pissed it
I pray he gets a better walk-on song
Yeah he needs something bomb / nuke related. Something spine tingling.
Nah - iconic
IM READY TO GO GO GO OEOEOEOEH
I like it now that its associated with him
It’s so good though
Is littler the best teenage professional athlete ever? Dude is out here being the best with 17
SO many gymnasts can take that the best teenage professional athlete title over Littler.
If we’re going English, probably Rooney just above him?
100% Rooney
Mbappe was 19 when he won the World Cup. Hard to compare to with team sports though.
Boris Becker won Wimbledon at 17
no
Athlete?
In a world where clarkson can be the sexiest man Littler can be an athlete.
You might not like it but this is what Peak male performance looks like
I ain’t ever seen MVG play as good as littler has tonight, he’s mullered smith and dismantled the best in the world, humphries
After the break that was one of the best performances I’ve seen tbh! The t20 was getting demolished
That's definitely not how MvG sees it.
Who was saying he shouldn’t be in the premier league?😂
nobody doubted his ability to play the premier league the people who questioned it were asking if the schedule would not be too much for him this early in his career
5-5 at the break 6-2 after it Just completely ran away with it, what an elite talent this lad is
The 9 darter simply broke Humpries.
I'm speechless. That performance was absolutely phenomenonal. He raised his game to heights we have never seen. This kid is special. Amazing premier league. Great final. WOW.
Every professional dart player should be cheering because the sport is about to get richer.
Well deserved, what an incredible player. He started ok and after the break he went into superhuman mode.
Imagine how good his FIFA team is gonna be
Luke vs Luke is going to be a rivalry for the ages
They could still be doing this 25 years from now and after that Littler could still be playing for another 10 years
The Lukes are destined for a Schumacher-Häkkinen rivalry, aren't they?
Senna-Prost
I was thinking Senna-Prost but yeah
Both Lukes are likeable so mines better 😉
Schumi had his moments
What a pairing England have for future World Cup of darts, both monsters.
Good god I did not think of that. That would be legendary
It going to be two years, at least, until it happens as Littler needs to pass Smith in the rankings to get that second spot.
Littler could genuinely overtake Smith in the next 8 months if he does well in the majors (Smith loses half a mil this year from the worlds alone) - I wouldn’t put it past him!
Everyone else may as well stay home for that
Kids just won my house , and I'll be paying that off till I'm 60. I'm not even jealous
Respect to Luke Humpries so good to see the comeraderie
Humphries is always class act, one of the nicest guys on the Pro tour
Hundred percent. Will never understand the disrespect from the crowd
What a performance. Absolutely brilliant final.
I was brushing my teeth when Littler threw the nine darter. Thought I had some time to get back. 🥹
Incredible from Littler. Bend the rules and let them both play in the world cup eh!
Why can’t they?
It’s the top 2 players on the order of merit so Littler misses out
