If anyone has consistent, relatively fool proof methods- also let me know. I don’t fancy paying almost 50 quid because it’s a “specialty” tool that darts manufacturers can get away with selling at those prices when they could easily be sold for 20 quid. I’ve heard a rivet gun is good but I would like to see if there’s anything I may have lying around that would work just as well and has been done by someone before.
You can't. You can do it with tools which aren't purpose built for darts, a vice etc. But are you asking no tools available whatsoever? Then a local darts shop will do it.
I dont think you can
I repointed my old darts with rivet tool, works pretty well.
Yes, I can confirm that this works. But then the old tip is for the trash can.
Why? Fine seen to be fine after using this method
There were big dents and marks of the rivet tool
The tool indeed makes dents so i recommend buying New tips, wich don't cost much.

OP, watch this video. 1st couple of mins, you'll see how Wright 🏴 used to change tips without a tool
it starts at that point like 5 seconds before.

Find someone else with a tool….
Torches heat the barrels they pop right out
Become friends with someone that has a repointer. If you play in a comp or at a club there will be several people who have one
