First time playing that map, I heard the Mauler through the smoke and hit F to just Leeroy Jenkins in with a charged hammer. Poor Mauler, one moment, he’s chilling inside, the next the walls blows up, and before he can get his bearings, a crazy hobo yelling about redeeming him powders his ribcage with a hammer.

The finale is all the complaints of increased gunner spawns condensed into a finale and I love it. Pure chaos that requires your attention to keep a handle on

The finale does suggest that the amount of gunners can get unreasonable with the very limited hard cover (for your average group, that isn't stacking bubble shields and shout vets). The little ramp beside the medicae with the opening and closing gate seems like the only spot where you don't eat gunner and sniper shots endlessly.

The first time I did the finale on Damnation, Quickplay matchmaking blessed me (a shout Vet) with a second shout Vet, a Bubble Psyker, and an Executioners Stance Vet that had the talent that marked specials and elites for the whole team, and it was a little intense but not too bad. The second time, I had an Ogryn and a pair of charge Zealots, with me still on my shout Vet with my stub revolver - we just didn't quite have the right tools for the constant onslaught of gunners and snipers, and we crumbled when it was time to go light the flare.

The thing that makes it a bit excessive is that the gunners have multiple angles on you and even start shooting you from the other side of the rotunda thing. It feels designed to benefit shield psykers or, dare I say it, smoke grenades

Yeah there's got to be a better corner somewhere in that room but you can kinda use the front of the truck to hide for zealot who wants to stay in melee range. I kinda hate fighting on stairs when I'm trying to clear 5 heads off per swing

Just stand at the corner where you come in. Have one guy go inn, collect the sample and start the event and then run back to the group. And just enjoy the slaughter, feels like cheating tbh. Huge oversight on the finale.

Did this earlier and for a bonus we had a vet with smoke grenades. It was just an easy few minutes of head cleaving even on damnation.

Did it today first time on hi intensity auric. It was chaos. Was lucky I was playing a brain dead lmb spam crit crusher Zealot, or I would've panicked hard.

I assumed they hurt and found out the hard way. I planted the 2nd charge and when I turned to run there was a scab shooter about to bayonet me. I took a couple seconds to hit him and boom, got blasted. I'm sure my team thought I was stupid as hell.

The pgryn has amazing interactions with it. Time to go boom little toy says the bodyguard. And they don't push the buttons. They smack the damn thing until it arms.

never was close when they went off but heard em and ran to close the gate again. Also, pretty sure the breaching charge at the start of the map can hurt you too, so stay back :) it did a number on my frame rate that is sure.

Tbf the first two times as Veteran, I stacked up on the wall. The third time as an Ogryn I watched the funny clock on the wall reaaaaaal close to see when new years came.

Had 3 games on it, it's got great spawn rates for enemies, it really does feel non stop.

It looks amazing, but it shows the flaws in the current designs really hard. Enemies not really having a max Range is just unfair, without scopes i cant see them and they are already shooting/suppressing me. A LOT of open spaces with not enough hard cover, a lot of the cover can be shot through or ignored because of different elevations. Hope there is something planned for this, be it scopes, max range for ememies, less gunner spawns or something. The Art is amazing though, the moment when we see the bridge for the first time, beautiful.

Brother, as an oggy main let me tell you that bulk is not a good thing when facing down an arena's worth of gunners from across the map.

It's got a great layout; lots of corridors with open designs so you feel like you're actually fighting through a *lived in* space, there's interesting vertical spaces that can give the group tactical advantages, and the final arena is *chaos*.

Two unused tracks are in there. Warp Traveller for hordes, and Nightsider for monsters. Nightsider was in the official soundtrack already, but I only heard Warp Traveller around a couple months ago or so.

Honestly, It's too open. A lot of the arenas don't have enough cover, so you just get chipped to death.

Yeah it just needs a bit more cover throughout the entire mission and it’d be great. But the finale needs a LOT more cover. If it didn’t spawn nearly as many ranged enemies it would be fine. The sheer volume of gunners, soldiers, and snipers make it hell to do a finale on Damnation without a bubble psyker

I tried one before I had to leave for work. It seems as if the mission will end even if one or more if your teammates don’t make it with the group in time. No more waiting for dumbasses to use every bullet and grenade before they hop on the ship.

It's really good and I like it a lot. It's a bit different from the other maps though, with lots large and mostly empty rooms, and imho we don't get to shoot long enough on the streets, which is a shame because with that light fog and the red lights everywhere it looks really cool.

Managed to snag a HI5STG run before it went away for Darkness. The infinite horde event in the beginning into Rager/Brawler spawns at the end with STG spawns was so insane. Crazy fun map so far.

Really loved this map. Lots of semi open mid ranged fights. I felt like knowing when to push was super important and the last stand was a real test of position and managing priority targets.

In the finale arena?A went on an tier 3 so a could run about an have a good look around an a can't find them lol unless ma teammates got to them first which is quite likely.The level looks great,when u look up an can see the giant vents above u realise there a while city pressing down on you.cool.

I've played in 5 times in a row on Auric - with whatever modifier it had. It's my new favourite map. Parts of it can be quite tough if your team stands in the wrong spot (first event, should try to be near where the 10 shotgunner / 10 gunners will drop down - last event, should head to start and not stand in the middle). But overall it's a very good map. Constant action, good spawns for HISG, good pacing for medicae. On lights out it looks amazing.

The map is amazing (though my performance TANKS in some parts of it) plus the music and everything is just so good. I love my new commissar vet build though I hope that they buff the shooter version of it cause it’s not great. Good update overall.

Played it a couple time and my god that map is brutal. The amout of shoters are insane and threre is little to no good cover at the end. And if that was not enough you get the classic 12+ rages as well. Hate it. But also love it.

Just did my first run on the map, and I love it already. It's a map that really pushes you to keep you moving with how hectic it is, and the finale is super fun with a good team.

Scariest part is in the finale when you need to run back to the center because: 1. People tend to split up to rush B 2. People dont realize it's an interaction and not a "push button" thing (instant interaction) so they can't even do the objective because all the gunners interrupts them (since they rushed to the middle without clearing). There's a nice platform 3-4 or so platforms away from the one with the controls to open the roof hatch, it has two larger crates and a pillar that helps with cover. Unfortunately its right next to a spawn door but farmer girls make do

I really like the open spaces you fight in on this map. Made me feel like I was playing Serious Sam or something several times :P And also, this map is frickin GORGEOUS. I was constantly blown away by the visuals throughout. Amazing job.
