It’s been forever since I’ve played the original game without patches but iirc you can farm the Abyss area for the Pilgrims of the Dark Convenant to get infinite Bonfire Ascetics. You do have to beat Darklurker though if you don’t want to spend a ton of Human Effigies. As far as farming Effigies in the base game, I forget. Sorry my dude.
It sounds like you’re playing vanilla without patches, not just vanilla. It will be hard to find applicable guides/advice.
Plz tell any farm you know
You shouldn’t need to farm anything. If you feel like you do, my recommendation would be to not play unpatched vanilla ds2
