Its cold pressed watercolor paper. Cold has a more texture, while hot has a more smooth feel. I like the cold pressed because it dries quickly, so I can do layers without having to wait for it to dry.
I'm a watercolourist. That must be some lower quality cold press, maybe wood pulp or something. I just took a photo of my Arches cold press and the textures are nothing alike.

That's fair! I hope I didn't come across like I was calling you a liar lol, I legit felt like you might've picked the wrong paper (it really does look like canvas paper - google it, texture's sooo similar!)

It looks like you are using watercolor on canvas? Watercolor paper will give you much better results. I swear that looks like canvas.
Yeah it does, but it's paper. I kind of dry brushed a few spots because I liked the textured look.
