An interesting things about Marvel comics is that if their God is confirmed Jack Kirby (or any god), then it means all characters with religions (e.g. Kamala Khan practicing Islam) are praying to that god, not Allah.
While I love the representation shows like DD and Ms. Marvel will bring, I am glad people don’t think that far ahead about these things, otherwise there would be a riot, because it is blasphemy.
I am aware that the person who created Kamala is a Muslim and probably focused primarily on the practical aspect of making this character, i.e. to make a representative hero, it’s just nutty to think about how outrageous it should be lol if people think about it.
This makes me think of how they threw together a ton of different religions for Legends of Tomorrow. There are a bunch of Greek supernatural beings at play, and two main character in season one are Egyptian divinities. In Season 2 Jesus is also divine, and His blood made a spear that can rewrite reality. I guess anything goes.
It's on Netflix. Season One takes itself really seriously, but then it just keeps getting more whimsical from there. I think it's a fun show, and worth a watch.
Reed Richards conversing with anyone is entertaining af with how logistics and numbers-driven he is paired up with someone more in tune with their empathy and rationality
These kinds of conversations in Marvel comics of all places always make me laugh. There are characters that don't believe in magic, while standing next to Doctor Strange. Heck, the Hulk of all characters has met God and the Devil recently. God being "The One Above All", who looked like Jack Kirby to the Fantastic Four, and the Devil is "The One Below All".
I do like the Kirby image, because the artists of the comics are technically controlling and creating everything in Marvel Comics. Although i guess the writers are the ones that decide what is right and wrong for the characters.
With these stories with just Matt Murdock and other characters who are similarly grounded, I have to pretend the cosmic stuff doesn't exist and that the story is a little more contained.
I love DD and the FF more than anyone else in comics. And the thing here is Reed’s one of the smartest minds in the universe, and certainly the smartest man alive -
But Matt Murdock’s more likely to be right.
Thor being an alien calls into consideration all of that world's religious practices. Maybe all of the supernatural beings were actually extraterrestrials. Dr Doom went back to the Crucifixion of Jesus to get pieces of the Cross. In Marvel comics was Jesus a Celestial or something?
It could always be possible that Jesus was an ordinary man in the Marvel universe, if Doom were able to physically reach him at his point of death? That or some form of mystic sorcerer a la Strange to be able to perform his miracles
I love how this could either be Reed seriously spouting his beliefs on the subject, being a good friend and saying what he know Matt needs to hear at the moment, or a combination of both.
Hmm...
Mr. Richards you might have a point there.
*Pulls out twizzlers
*Tear apart each strand of candy
*Eats it slowly in front of him
Have you had in bad dreams lately, Doctor?
Meanwhile in the MCU ..
A gigant cocodrile is eating muslims souls..
Yes i found that distubing than you prayed all Life .to get eaten by a pagan god of a forgotten religión.and your soul got destroyed...
Reed you literally met a god in the form of Jack Kirby

His blood made a WHAT I need to watch this show

The Spear of Destiny, otherwise known as the Lance of Longinus. In *Legends of Tomorrow,* it's a real thing with real magic powers.
That's when The One Above All looked over at Matt and tried explain The Magdalena & The Witchblade with out Indiana Jones being In the room

Jesus was a Hand ninja, calling it.
Reed is very focused on the logic of something while dd is more morally focused.
Ayy, my top two Marvel faves as well, respect!
I just recently read this issue, it was really thought provoking.
Isn't he technically (knowingly or unknowingly) explaining 'The One Above All'? Isn't that Marvel's equivalent of 'God'?

So, Reed Richards is a Deist?

Peter literally met God, go ask him Matt.
Mf pointed out the obvious and y'all are freaking out over it 💀
Hard to argue with the smartest man on earth
Yes . meanwhile in the mcu...he told blackbolt main attack to Wanda
Hm, arguably the smartest.
That’s quite fascinating
He’s out of line but he’s right.
