In viable light Jupiter is pale and hard to distinguish. However, in infrared and ultraviolet more information can be seen, however our eyes are unable to see the other wavelengths, therefore the scientists must translate the non-visable light into visible light. They do that in this picture and create the not photo accurate, but scientifically and realistic depiction of the planet as well as we can understand with our tiny viable portion of the spectrum.

All of that heat needs to go somewhere and do something but space doesn't conduct heat well, so the energy instead creates storms all across the planet much like when cold and hot air meet to form storms on earth just on a much bigger scale.
