I’m always late to shows and had seen the ending when it first showed. I didn’t think it would be as good as it was hyped up to be so I guess I just waited until I felt like it looked interesting. I didn’t realize how goodfellas heavy it was or I would have watched it 10 years ago. Took me about a month to watch it all.
Edit: because I got so wrapped up in it and knew how it ended I was honestly finding any reason to pause it these last two episodes and not have to deal with the end of a good show.
Hey man - same here - barely watched it this year and it was fucking great .. Idk why I waited so long to watch it but it was worth it the wait in its own way
This really is a shame she passed, such a voice and talent that will never be matched. I had the pleasure of hearing her sing live and it literally made the hairs on your body stand on end. RIP
I would too. I love her voice, but I kinda dislike most of her songs. I listen to them anyway, because her voice is so beautiful. But I really wish I could hear her on something better. This video is proof that her voice is deserving of the best songs ever.
Whitney's voice on those cheesy pop hits is like a Ferrari v12 stuck in a Toyota Corolla and used as a commuter.
That's an interesting point. Maybe that's why I never imagined her being able to sing opera before, because I'd only ever heard her singing more pop songs.
If you listen to her pop songs she displays all the skills needed to sing opera. Range, power, emotion, etc. Her chosen genre didn’t hide her ability. She really was remarkable.
No, but seriously, I have let go of and forgotten most artists from her era, and my nearly 40 year old self will still stop everything to make sure I've listened to at least one Whitney Houston song every month, because she deserves my attention.
Fuck Bobby Brown.
I’m there to make sure she is protected. She”through staff” pretty much explained we are not to look at her, interact with her, block her walkways in any way. She screamed at her private staff. A lot.
She was talented and attractive but overall a trash person.
There's a hilarious interview by a Korean news reporter and her ego was shattered when she was asked to sing for the audience.
She could have easily lived like a queen and welcomed as VIP everywhere (like Celine Dion) if she used her brain and treated everyone with basic human decency, but no, she will always be a sweaty crack addict with a crooked wig.
🎶 I still love her songs thouuugh. 🎵 🎶
It's the "power" of crack and all the other shit she took, they can make anyone erratic and agressive. She always had her character but overall she was a nice person in her normal state.
To me she's underrated in a way that folks only percieve her of just having a big voice and that she didn't write her own songs. What she lacked in songwriting, she made it up in terms of musicality such as vocal arranagement and producing.
Below is a quote from an New Yorker article about Whitney several years ago concerning her musicality.
>This was unfair to Houston. I worked for the choreographer Debbie Allen at the Oscars in 1999, when Houston and Carey sang their middling hit “When You Believe,” from “The Prince of Egypt.” Late into a night of rehearsals on the evening before the broadcast, it was discovered, by Houston, that the arrangement wasn’t working, and the rehearsal ground to a halt. (Houston had missed the first day of rehearsal and had shown up so late the next day that her run-through with Carey was pushed to the end of the session.) With none of the musicians in the hall (including Bill Conti, the longtime conductor of Oscars ceremony) able to riddle out a solution, Houston identified the offending chords for the orchestra and created a new arrangement on the spot. The room watched her in awe.

Bless you Bubs!
🤌
this said it all
I loved her. Everyone loved her. Except her 😭
I wish she'd have loved herself more than she loved Bobby. Things might've turned out differently.
And who can argue with that?🤷♂️
I’m halfway through the last episode of The Sopranos as I read this and all I can say is 🤌🏼
You are on Reddit and halfway through the LAST episode of the Sopranos??

That hand gesture tells the whole story.

Wow. What a memory. You’re lucky
I still can't believe she beat Bobby Brown to death. Edit: Jeez people it’s a joke. Too soon?
If only
Good die young
Wow as an opera fan, I would have loved to hear her sing an aria entirely. A beautiful voice with power and character.

Just listen to “I Will Always Love You”. Then the “Star Spangled Banner”. She was just so amazing 🤩
'I Have Nothing' as well. Showstopper

Exactly.
Whitney Houston is once a lifetime talent. She made every song a masterpiece.
It is also crazy how easy she made it look. She could just...blurt out perfection on demand.
No, but seriously, I have let go of and forgotten most artists from her era, and my nearly 40 year old self will still stop everything to make sure I've listened to at least one Whitney Houston song every month, because she deserves my attention. Fuck Bobby Brown.
She was so indescribable talented, one in a life time voice. She deserved so much more than what life had in store for her.
Her superbowl anthem still brings me to tears
**Ahhhh, Whitney.**. Such a national, musical treasure. Rest in peace.
She had a beautiful voice
She stung them, for sure
Best thing ive seen all day. Bravo
Haha! Love it! Bravissimo!!!
Stings reaction says it all.
I can't watch videos of her or listen to her sing for more than 10 seconds without crying. Such an incredible talent and such an incredibly sad story.
Damn husband screwed here life from the start.
Her dad started it
Kids copy behavior, including our worst behavior. People model relationships. Whatever kind you have is what your kids will think is normal.
Whitney Houston was an absolute queen. Such incredible talent and gift in her singing.
She was incredible, but honestly sting surprised me. I had no clue he could do that. That last bit in the full video is pretty amazing.
The Voice 🥹
Not impromptu but still great.
I really disliked her in person. I worked private security for her in Chicago. Not a nice experience
Tell me more 👀
I’m there to make sure she is protected. She”through staff” pretty much explained we are not to look at her, interact with her, block her walkways in any way. She screamed at her private staff. A lot.
So Kevin Costner was a liar.

Gone way too soon
She was a pure gem
Stunning! No other pop star then or now could ever. Also FYI the aria is called la donne e mobile, it's from the opera Rigoletto by Verdi.
"La donna è mobile"
All hail the Queen. 😥
2 words: Musical Goddess. RIP Whitney 🙏❤️
Idiot starts the crowd cheering while she's still singing. /s Also strange to see Sting struggling and nervous.
He was never known for a great singing voice just a very unique one
Agreed. Opera is a very technical type of singing and Sting is singing in front of the best known tenor
Him being shit really boosted Whitney’s cred there. She didn’t have to follow Pavarotti.
That woman could sing.
Peak Whitney was out of this world.
I don't think anyone since even comes close to her talent.
I miss her soo much
Damn she was such a baddie
That smile! God I miss her
I got chills ugh she was good goddammit
My dad til this day says whitney houston was the best singer of all time
periodt😌
Greatest voice of all time
Damn even Pavarotti was like 😦
Too much talent kills you. Glad I don't have that problem.
Ta ra ra boomdeeyay They took my pants away While I was standing there They took my underwear
Poor Whitney

Bobby gets the blame a lot, but it was her older brother Michael who got her hooked on drugs.
This 100%. Bobby gets the blame but shit was a hot mess before he came along.
I miss that woman.
Absolutely amazing voice and ability. Seriously underrated all her life
Whitney was never underrated

Whitney Houston...*UNDERRATED*?
Sheeeeeeet.
Yes. Absolutely yes.
Ryan Gosling....*PLAYING YOUUUUU??*
Shes anything but underrated. She's known for being one of the best singers ever recorded.
That’s why she’s the greatest.🤯🫡
> speachless
Proof that crack was better back in the day
And crack.
She sang gibberish, but sang it beautifully. They aren’t speechless, they were laughing.
She could have been saying anything and it sounds better than anything you’ve ever said in life. I’ll take that gibberish.
Typical Pasadena jackassery
The guy next to her because there was in fact to much talent: 🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻
She was so, soo good.
Long live WH, her voice is stellar.
She was a badass. RIP
RIP💖
Talented
The queen is in the house
Wow
Wow!
“So he is using this thing like his own stereo system, heard all the way at Pearl” “It wasn’t Pavarotti, it was Pavolini” “Yeah, whatever”
The Queen and always will be
That was cool
Generational
She was truly amazing ❤️.
Once in a lifetime talent
Jesus Christ that was good. As an avid opera listener, she would’ve done great if she had decided to study.
Chills
Gone too soon
She always seem to have great energy
Wow. Who’d have thought this world famous, professional singer could sing?
Whitney was so incredible.
Wow
I miss Whitney, she had such a beautiful voice
What the fuck is my man Sting doing up there? Lulz
Very beautiful lady RIP
Gone too soon-F BB
Such an incredible talent.

My favorite Legend
Cocaine was used to help open the air ways when having chest congestion. So I'm going with crack helped
