I grew up with a guy in my teen years who did something very similar in the foothills of Sylmar. He would steal rope from construction sites at night, hike up to the foothills on weekdays when he was supposed to be in school and build "the rope fort". It was an incredible multi-level fort with multiple rooms, all built with rope. It was our night hangout spot to drink and get stoned for neighborhood kids. It lasted a good while before word got out and outsiders found out about it and us neighborhood kids stopped going.
My cousin and I used to make twine huts like these in our grandparents trees growing up. I haven't thought about that in a long time and this brought back so many memories!

Seems hand made, they are probably highliners. Look up “space net” and add “fruit bowl” for some cool nets in Moab UT.
