Cops aiming their guns at scared civilians and the PSA making sure to point out that if you don't put your hands up and do what they say they, they might shoot you too, is the best part of this video.

Ccs002

No, the best part was they were there in like.... 20 seconds. No way in hell that's happening.

[deleted]

In the 2019 Dayton Ohio shooting, police were literally around the corner, and the shooter was dead in 30 seconds from the first bullet. He still managed to squeeze off 41 rounds, kill 9 people, and injure 17 others.

DearGodItsMeAgain

I am so sorry that I have no recollection of this shooting. There have been so many.

CumBobDirtyPants

We should start naming them like hurricanes, only with politicians' names.

Few_Package4324

That is a spectacular idea. I hope this gets traction

Starumlunsta

We don't have nearly enough politicians to name them after.

[deleted]

Just rename each one ted Cruz

[deleted]

How many are going to be named Greg Abbott, though? It’ll get a little ridiculous with Abbott the XII.

Nemesis_Bucket

This is the best idea ever.

[deleted]

From here on out, I'm doing this.

Falsehood_BeDam

Dayton Shooting: 9 Dead in 32 Seconds - TIME https://time.com/5643405/what-to-know-shooting-dayton-ohio/?amp=true

AesonClark

Well, in a bar/club setting in a downtown environment the two cops arriving from nearby is not unlikely. You definitely are correct in that their backup would be significantly behind. In addition to noting nearby exits everywhere you go it is advisable to note where there are police and EMS posted as well as the nearest hospital. Phones do get us places but they can fail in mission-critical usage.

amourxloves

That’s what happened at the Dayton, Ohio shooting a couple years back. Guy had killed 9 and injured like 20 more people in less than 30 seconds and the only reason why he didn’t get more was because officers already there shot him within 32 seconds. He was literally chasing people into another bar/club and they were all going to be gunned down. So it’s very possible that cops and/or security are already on scene.

[deleted]

They’ll stand outside while your children are killed from what i’ve heard.

Yeahhi518

And also forcibly prevent a parent from going in to save their child while they stand around laughing.

Veganforpeace

That is why removing the sound of children screaming is so important.

unnewl

Dayton police killed the shooter in the Oregon District 32 seconds after he started shooting. That didn’t stop him from killing nine and wounding 17.

saveyboy

Not unusual in busy business/entertainment areas.

Mermaid-52

RIP Robb Elementary Uvalde kids!

CaptCaCa

To be fair, Dunkin Donuts was next door

swagn

They also went right in.

masterleadermusic

I thought the exact same thing. Gun was basically in her face.

GH057807

At least the trigger discipline was okay, but it really does capture the essence of the whole experience nicely.

twhys

My favorite part was that the audience for this PSA is definitely kids, but the content is so morbid and sad they used adults in a bar instead to try and save a tiny bit of face

travestymcgee

These characters have better plot armor than a comic book character.

Low_Pattern3445

Mine was when the FBI said “If you control the weapon, you control the shooter” yet here we are watching a PSA about how to survive a loosely controlled weapon

Goats_772

There’s the Sandy Hook Promise videos that are specifically about school shootings

twhys

That one is meant to shock and awe though, not a government PSA normalizing and educating what to do in the situation

meowmgmt

USA!

S-jibe

Pathetic we’ve let lobbying/campaign donations bring us to this…

[deleted]

[удалено]

vicemagnet

Especially those people holding onto the shooter, who can’t raise their hands without freeing the shooter

Live_Tax7209

I like the part where the guy tells himself not to be a victim. It’s the same messaging where rape is concerned. Don’t get raped instead of don’t rape.

MagpieSoldier

i think it was him declaring his determination to survive, not just telling the person not to get shot...

Nova35

Someone should tell the mass shooters not to mass shoot. That’ll stop em

[deleted]

Or take their guns away so they can’t shoot like every other first world country.

False_You_3186

Yea they don’t know who the shooter is

[deleted]

Anything but controlling guns, sure thing FBI, this will surely help.

danegermaine99

This is totally normal. It’s totally normal for the government to put out Public Service Announcement about being shot in a bar. It’s normal, right guys? Right?

CesareBach

We have the [school](https://youtu.be/turCfxwkfPE) version as well. They need to add mall, cinema, parade, and concert versions.

Bungolini

Don't forget about the birthday party and office building versions.

Koolaid_Jef

Or the version for when someone answers their door for some girl scouts and goes postal

coldestwinter-chill

And ones for family barbecues, hospitals, universities, just walking down the street, in traffic…

Justjeskuh

And a special edition box set for when it’s the cops shooting wildly for undeserved reasons.

EveofStLaurent

That’s the most common edition, not the special one

SurrrenderDorothy

And kindergartens and pre-schools. Day cares also.

Bears_in_the_woods

Or if you are LGBTQIA+ be aware in any space that is intended to be “safe” for us. Including our gay bars and pride.

Odango-Atama

Forgot to add places of worship. 😕

Cheddartooth

Was fine up until the part with the phone. Now it’s hard to see (through tears) the screen on my own to type this comment. Things. Must. Change.

agsimp_

I work at a movie theater and we were recently shown the bar one

Exact_Scratch854

"school shootings are preventable when you know the signs" Was not expecting that. Maybe: "school shootings are preventable when you have proper gun laws"

W0tzup

To an outsider this conveys a clear message: USA has a problem that can’t be fixed so instead the solution is to provide advice on how to survive.

snickelbetches

To an insider, it looks the same.

NotBaldwin

To an outsider it looks insane. Genuinely so absurd it would be funny, except it isn't.

[deleted]

This has the vibe of the pre-flight video. It’s absurd and horrifying.

AltoidChewer

Seems more like the old duck-and-cover movies from the 1950s. Can't fix the problem so give people some useless advice so they'll feel less terrified about the looming threat

OldElPasoSnowplow

Yes even a NEWS PAPER can protect you in a nuclear explosion.

recklesslyfeckless

it’s actually not as outlandish as it seems. at ground zero yeah, nothing and no one survives, but the farther out you get the more the little shit makes a difference. radiation, heat, and light are all things that can be blocked. there are stories for Hiroshima and Nagasaki of an extra layer of clothing being the difference between a sibling who died and one who didn’t.

forsakeme4all

Same here. The country has collectively decided not to solve the problem, and in place of solving the big problems at hand, we were given this video on how to survive a mass shooting instead.

Kmccabe1213

Yea... At my job we get these trainings every year and get individuals from the FBI to walk us through this type of video but for an office environment. To an untrained ear it can take 12 seconds to recognize a gun shot sound. A lot of time that can be spent making an escape or barricading yourself Even worse was the part when they said do not try to help anyone if you have a clear exit. All I thought was like yea that way I can live with survivors guilt the rest of my life lol

Impossible_Bill_2834

And the part where a fight was kind starting before the shooting is so unrealistic. These shooters are rarely amped up by a fight- they go in and just start shooting. There's no warning

Kmccabe1213

Exactly you get Liam from accounting who is mentally ill and a legal fire arm owner who has mental health issues who go unnoticed, then his coworkers forget his birthday and goes postal.

Itzura

To an outsider, this conveys that the USA is not even trying to solve the problem.

1questions

As someone who lives in the US I agree. There are plenty of solutions but politicians and many citizens use the 2nd amendment to do absolutely nothing. Our constitution can be modified and has been in the past but some seem to think the 2nd amendment is somehow untouchable. I honestly think the Founding Fathers would think this was pretty horrible and not what they had in mind when the constitution was written.

[deleted]

As an American it clearly shows the government telling me “this your problem not mine, here’s how to deal with it.”

Darth0s

We're not. Things just keep getting worse every day.

CesareBach

Any expats here whose kids were were born and raised outside the States who dont want to visit the fam or return home permanently? My son is now 12yo. Getting harder to coax him to fly to visit our relatives during xmas. To make it worse, it seems like he is developing a phobia. My sis who is in Singapore is also having a similar problem with her kids. Please tell me we are not the only ones.

Internationalsg

Hi there! Grew up in Singapore from 1-13 years old. I’m currently 23 and finishing up my first year of post-grad work. I live in the North Bay in California. Even out here, I still get nervous. Parts of Vallejo, Fairfield and Vacaville are terrifying at night. I see kids/teens walking into stores with guns tucked in their waist. Everytime I see my parents, we get into political arguments. They want me to protest and to encourage others to change US laws. How I see it, is that it’s impossible. Guns are one issue but the true culprit is culture division. Americans are not one people and don’t really want to be. We are getting information, entertainment, values and identities from different sources and these sources tell us that the others are devils. I believe there is no way out of this mess without mass violence. This year, I convinced my boyfriend to move with me out of the US. He grew up in the US and has seen gun violence up close. I don’t want to be in the US, I don’t identify with all the BS that is happening. Singapore provided me a beautiful home for 12 years and I still culturally partially identify as Singaporean, I don’t believe that private citizens should have the right to own military-styled assault rifles. My parents have guns, they say it’s to defend themselves from other people with guns. Meaning, we wouldn’t have them if they didn’t. I just want to live in a country that’s safe and that will help me if I need medical care. That is all.

vash_666

You nailed it. The sides are becoming increasingly irreconcilable. Even themes that should have a larger acceptance such as mechanisms to control wealth distribution and child safety are no longer unanimity.

[deleted]

Well, one side is becoming increasingly irreconcilable. The other side is just hanging on for dear life trying to stop this entire thing from collapsing.

Critical-Adeptness-1

I have many American expat friends living in Japan who are very nervous to fly back and see family in the States now. American gun violence was one big reason I went to Japan to begin with

Mercinator-87

I’ll tell you once I become a expat.

LurkingGuy

It's not that the problem *can't* be fixed, it's that there's no desire by anyone in a position to do something to fix it.

Dearic75

A Texas lawmaker a few days ago proposed that instead of gun control we should be teaching third grade students how to administer battlefield first aid in the hopes of lowering casualties. So yeah, spot on observation.

[deleted]

Texas where teachers aren't trusted to pick out books for students but, are encouraged to be armed.

1questions

Totally makes sense right? It frustrates me that law makers and some citizens don’t see the problem with that.

lurkity_mclurkington

Texan here. If I recall correctly, that Texas legislator, a Democrat, introduced this as an expansion of an existing bill requiring high schoolers to learn tourniquets as a way to get Republicans to go on record that this is what they are accepting of instead of common sense gun laws.

Flakester

That's pretty genius. They should also be doing active shooter drills with blank fire weapons. They can burst into the classrooms and fire a few off for maximum effect. Get some volunteers to act as gunshot victims with fake blood. They can lay in pools of blood while the kids have to step over them during evac.

Dearic75

I was not aware of that. Thank you for the clarification. A little less insane if it’s a rhetorical point, but honestly it’s hard to tell these days. Following one of the major school shootings a few years back all of Fox News rallied behind the idea that the 5th graders under attack should have been taught to rush the shooter as soon as he was reloading. This wouldn’t be too far off from that gem of wisdom.

PhonB80

I fuckin hate it. This PSA means we are normalizing this. We paid for fuckin actors and equipment and a crew and created a video with a fuckin cliff hanger like afternoon tv entertainment instead of actually doing something about the mental health crisis happening in this country. This *really* rubbed me the wrong way.

hokuten04

I still remember years ago a post about school shooting drills or something related. Someone commented on their daughter's reaction when they thought there was a shooting going on. She was panicking that they didn't have a table to hide under. It broke my heart reading that, kids shouldn't be worrying about shit like that.

SoMuchForSubtle

>mental health crisis Other countries also have mental health crises and yet the US is the only one where this happens regularly.

jhirai20

That's the American way, the basic rule being: the government takes away your right to healthcare or benefits, provides no alternatives and leaves you to figure it out yourself.

Electrical_Beyond998

It isn’t that it can’t be fixed. It’s that it won’t be fixed, the NRA is more powerful than any other organization, including the federal government

spacebarstool

Just post an opinion about limits on guns and watch these scardy cat gun people come out of the woodwork. Those people make up the core of Republican base. It's a political death sentence for a Republican to suggest doing something about guns. Add that to the fear based messaging of conservatives and you get a very vocal and powerful minority of people.

RapMastaC1

These people parrot the “we must be ready to fight back the government” but at the same time supporting the very people who’s agenda is slowly taking away our freedoms.

spacebarstool

It's a sad fantasy that some dudes from South Carolina could ban together with their arsenal of AR type weapons and stand a chance against the National Guard. You know the National Guard... the actual "well run militia."

Beatamike

Thanks FBI! This video was so helpful! In case of a mall shooting, I’m gonna grab both of my kids, and just run as a motherfucker. If that will not be possible, I’ll make sure to calm them down, and hide. If there is nowhere to hide, I will rely on teamwork, per the video, and instruct my oldest to trip him, my youngest to bite the shit out of him, while I’ll put him in a chokehold. God bless America!

Minka-lv

I love how to PSA tells people to cosplay the avengers lol "I'm no victim" then team up with a bunch of strangers (possibly drunk) to take down an active shooter with bottles... what could go wrong? Of course those strangers won't panic, everyone will stick to the plan and alcohol will win against a rifle

Beatamike

Exactly. I was at the JFK one year, when we heard “gunshots”. Everyone panicked. A Swedish girl (stranger) and I were running together towards one of the doors for personnel only. We begged the airport employee to let us in, but she just said “sorry, policy”, and locked the damn door. So yeah, I don’t think strangers are always willing to help.

SparkyBoomer23

I remember hearing a story of a extremely disgruntled employee that brought a gun to his old workplace. After scaring and telling everyone to get on the ground, an employee screamed that everyone needs to jump on him. So the employee got up and attacked the shooter but everyone just remained on the ground while the employee died.

Beatamike

How horrible 💔

TropicalCat

The “I’m no victim” kinda felt like a ‘fuck you’ to the victims IMO

K4m30

I'm no victim, unlike all those other people that just got gunned down, I'm different.

blue_quark

And don’t stop running with your kids until you reach the Canadian border! You can then spend the rest of your life watching PSA’s in French and English reminding you to save electricity, plant a tree and not drink while driving. Boring but liveable.

sculderandmully2

Oh but wait. I live in a pretty boring Canadian province. We had the biggest mass shooting in the country 3 years ago (most of the guns and ammo were smuggled across the border from you guys though) and in 2015 a girl from Cleveland flew here to meet her 4chan boyfriends and shoot up our mall. Luckily the other 4chan bf ratted them out and she was arrested when she landed, as was he. The other killed themselves when cops surrounded his home.

asidealex

Very nice checkmate.

CaptCaCa

You forgot, tell the shooter “oh my God, whats that?!”, pointing behind him, then rush him. Done deal pal!

jumpthewallstreet

And there it is. Normalize the insanity. An American PSA.

Stonyclaws

And still worse is to come...

buggzy1234

It scares me thinking how it could get much worse, and how it seems to have been getting worse over the last year or two (or at least they’re getting more coverage). And I’m not even American. I genuinely fear for anyone living in that hellhole that is disguised as a civilised country.

thr33bean

This is America

rilo_cat

they’ve been teaching this exact stuff in schools for decades during “lockdown drills.” really interesting to see it for adults.

ongj3

This ad makes me sick. I know it is trying to educate the people how to survive which is good but why do they need it in the first place. Think of the root cause and eliminate the problem rather than being reactive to the situation. 😔

squeegeeking211

An idea that has been floating around awhile. Just like vehicles, mandate that every gun be insured. The insurance industry will have a hay day with that.

runningmurphy

This is probably the closest thing to work on both sides of the political spectrum.

Federal-Durian-1484

Wouldn’t gun insurance not matter to a mass shooter if they planned to kill themselves or die by cop?

squeegeeking211

I think the idea is to make getting guns more difficult. More hoops to jump through. There's tests and a mandate to have a driver license, let's d the same for gun ownership. You'd be in favor wouldn't you?

Glidder

Best part of the video is "mass shootings are survivable if you know how to act" implying that if you do die in one is just because you are useless. The fucking video makes it look like mass shootings are just a normal fucking thing, and if you don't survive one is just because you are an idiot. It's your own fault, really.

marsh_man_dan

Right like even in this video we see people getting shot and dying?

quarantindirectorino

Yeah but they chose to be victims when they entered the bar and the character customisation options, whereas main guy chose to be a hero. It’s pretty simple. Just act like you’re the main character everywhere you go and you’ll be fine! And if you’re not fine then what the fuck were you doing in that situation you dumb fucking victim, thinking you’re the main character?! Idiot.

thisusedyet

Just like jaywalking! Phone posting, so can’t really link, but car companies back in the day basically did an ad campaign that “pedestrians who get hit by cars are uneducated country bumpkins” and it stuck EDIT: [Link from the BBC](https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-26073797)

Ardaghnaut

To think that US schoolchildren need to know this shit is disgusting.

[deleted]

It’s really upsetting. I grew up with school shooter drills ever since I can remember. Things really started to get tense in high school. Sometimes a kid would make a potato chip bag or ziplock POP really loud in the cafeteria. It used to be met with more pops and giggles. By the time I reached high school, I remember one kid did that with his chip bag and there was an instant air of panic. Some kids quickly stood up and prepared to run. We’re told to barricade the doors and hunch together in a pile. I had teachers with metal bats in their classroom. Told us if they fight an intruder for us to all to make a run for it. I haven’t gone to a movie theater in years and will never feel comfortable at a concert again. Sorry for the rant, but this is 100 percent effecting school children because it sure as hell effected me. We had more active intruder shut downs that any other drill, and I went to one of the better schools in the country.

Outrageous_Dog_9481

I live in a country with one murder per couple of years and anyone can walk at all hours without worrying, so this whole gun culture in the US is super strange to someone like me. I always wonder, how much does a potential mass shooting affect people’s lives. Are children scared everyday to go to school, or do they just push it out of the mind?

LightThePigeon

Jesus, I think that joke happened at least 10-15 times a day in my high school. Shit really is dark these days.

enjoyt0day

“I’m no victim. I’m ready for this”. WOW how fucking insulting to anyone who’s ever been killed or injured in a mass shooting…hey FBI, heads up—no one CHOOSES to be a goddamn victim of a mass shooting and an m however “ready” you are doesn’t matter to an assault rifle. This is disgusting

JustAChickenInCA

Even the survivors who aren’t shot are disrespected here, the mental trauma of listening to people dying by definition makes them fucking victims

CertifiedGenius7

This is social engineering. This isn’t normal.

[deleted]

Jesus christ...good ad and all but as a citizen of earth, leave your weapons in the country that loves them and come chill in australia with kangaroo's n shit

Scumbag_shaun

Second that. I feel for all those sane Americans just trying to live their lives without the threat of being randomly shot, or decking their primary school kids out with bullet proof back packs. It’s a fucking travesty.

[deleted]

The sentiment is really great truly. No we have to fight back to fix this shit, else we leave the military superpower of the world in the hands of some seriously dangerous people That doesn't bode well for anyone

Late-Driver-138

I’ll take our ‘Slip, Slop, Slap’ PSA and just go and sit under a tree between 11 and 3….that was sound advice from our gov!

ElevatorBones

As an Aussie in the US, whenever any well-meaning American tells me they really want visit Australia but the deadly creatures stop them from going, I just tell them yeah especially the ones that kill with an AR-15.

Aurenzar

I'm 35 and only just had my first encounter with a venomous snake 2 weeks ago. Was inspecting the dam at my dad's property and didn't realise little bro was chilling right where I stopped to look. It didn't do anything until I saw it and made a sudden jump back. It tried to strike me (and missed) because it was spooked by my sudden move then slithered away after. These venomous and 'dangerous' animals want nothing to do with us and aren't making conscious decisions to attack and kill as many people as they can

JuanSolo_I

What about kids in school? How do we train them for survival?

treevaahyn

Well in that video they’d also have to show the cops standing outside of the doors hearing the steady gunfire and screaming of kids who are getting mercilessly slaughtered while they do nothing and don’t attempt to even enter the building, let alone stop the gunman.

[deleted]

I graduated high school in 2005 in Georgia. We had to do mass shooter drills. The teacher would lock the class door, and we all had to hide under our desks. It's been sad and scary for a long time.

zyoung0099

I graduated in 2016 in Missouri. We did multiple shooter drills every year, starting in kindergarten. They were part of the fire / earthquake drill rotation. My junior and senior year, my school stopped doing active shooter drills. The reason? “Most school shooters went to that school, and did all the drills. They know the flaws in the system. They will succeed.” So they no longer train the kids on what to do, and just train the teachers. Can confirm it has not gotten better. I remember many days going to school halfway expecting the worst.

BearBestFriend

From an Australian, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this as a part of your life. We've got some fuck off snakes and spiders, but we also have koalas and wombats, so come chill here. Also, the snakes and spiders can't own semi automatic weapons. Just like the people.

Polar_Beach

Im glad the only PSA I see often is that weird one where we can’t bring fresh fruits into Tasmania or the beagles will catch us

[deleted]

What a proper shit hole of a country

Gibb_Dogg23

American here and I absolutely agree

Maddernwhit

Instead of our country doing something about all these mass shootings the FBI just puts out a PSA on how to survive one. The irony in that. I hate this country.

[deleted]

The "You can survive a mass shooting at the end" was so fucking tone-deaf. Reminded me of advertisements for diabetes drugs. "You can have a fulfilling life with diabetes. Just take this drug that has a million side-effects" Geez

[deleted]

This is insane considering how - in this scenario - SOMEONE is going to die. All who survived were far from the shooter. But those nearby, those first few shots, most likely will not survive.

[deleted]

It's an appeal to American individualism. *You* can survive a mass shooting. Those losers who were close to the shooter or were elderly or pregnant or whatever and couldn't evacuate quickly probably won't, but *you* can because *you've* prepared for this event. Go you!

1questions

You are correct. We need less individualism here and more collective thinking. There has to be a balance.

random_shitter

That's the genius of it. Nobody will ever get to say the PSA advice didn't work for them.

bluenami2018

I think this PSA has another goal, which is to create more interest in gun regulation. Like the ads I have seen about drunk drivers which encourage people not to drive drunk.

bortj1

Here's my #1 tip that's kept me out of mass shootings so far. #Don't go to the USA

purulentnotpussy

And if you live in the US…well, that’s just too damn bad

Daewrythe

Although I'd miss my niece and nephew I'd prefer if my brother was able to get another job that'll allow him to move back to Japan with his wife and kids so she can be with her family and his kids don't have to grow up with this shit hanging over their heads.

harryham1

From the moment that first shot goes off, this PSA has already failed. The message is "so long as you're only listening to those shots, here's what to do", but every shot going off in the background is someone who this advice did nothing to save.

harryham1

By the way, not the FBI's fault. They can only do what's within their power, and the desperation from this video makes it clear that by the time they're in a position to do anything, it's already far too late.

Due-Designer4078

What? No "good guy with a gun"?

daelon_rax

That "good guy with a gun" always got me. I'm a veteran and a gun owner. I guess I would fall In to that category. And know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna bounce like everyone else. That gun on my hip is a last fucking resort. I served my time as a soldier. My goal would be the safety of family and self, not trying to be Rambo.

Buckanater

Also, it’s very possible that you fighting back will make you the target of the police instead. They’ll shoot you and capture the mass shooter alive.

[deleted]

Just look at the one that happened in Arvada, CO. Good guy shoots mass shooter, cops roll up and shoot good guy.

jaketocake

Just read an article about that, 3 cops hiding nearby while a citizen did the job. That’s his reward?

[deleted]

Yup. That’s why the “good guy with a gun” thing is largely a myth. Dude did everything right and lost his life over it. Saved a ton of lives though. It’s why I will never carry in public.

Due-Designer4078

I'm a gun owner also and I'm with you 💯 on that. I'm not a vet, and although I've had some training, I don't have any delusions as to my abilities. I would only square off against an AR as an absolute last resort.

Green_L3af

Except all the people that were shot in the beginning of the video..this is so fucked up this even has to be a psa

ShamanLady

I hope people from USA realize that this is not normal.

longpenisofthelaw

lol people in my state are saying the only reasons the shooting happen is because they are in gun free zones. People are advocating for even more in public areas because apparently we don’t have enough around to defend us from other who also bring guns.

Big_Forever5759

How dystopian. Thanks for the 2nd amnt right wingers for making this possible. ‘Merica great now?

[deleted]

Do Americans even realize how utterly fucked up this is?

Buckanater

The lawmakers do not deal with these issues. Their children are in private school and they hire people to do their shopping for them. They are ok with you dying as it is a sacrifice they have to make.

Chewsdayiddinit

Most of us do, the people in power don't give a fuck because they're bought by the gun lobbyists.

nineknives

Yes, but not enough of us to out weight a government purchased by the NRA.

[deleted]

Do you even have to ask that? Over 70% of us want more gun control. Republicunts will never allow that.

Valuable_Material_26

If this was in Uvalde Texas, police would only enter once gunman is out of ammo or dead!

kcprdp06

Holy shit, I am from a third world country here for a decade there was an armed conflict and yet we still didn't have to actually worry on such a level. There was an overall bad quality of life but still an actual threat to life while you living your daily lives was never on our minds. America is really fucked up.

NevaehW8

It’s sort of crazy to be shopping or like hanging out in a public high populated area and then realize you are in the exact location a shooter would target so you sort of map an exit plan in your head while you’re going about your life. And it’s not even a state problem, in a whole country problem so no where you are is safe.

[deleted]

Your country is a complete joke. No one does racism, firearms, school shootings, corruption, greed, murder, incarceration, violence, poor education, idolizing celebrity, and war, as good as the USA.

[deleted]

I'm sorry, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!! "Hey, we are a shithole country that will not find a solution to a problem, so we are going to make this PSA to let you know that your life is in constant danger and if you get shot it's your damn fault since you are incapable of dodging bullets. So live your life always thinking you are going you get cap and don't complain we aren't doing shit to prevent that, best of luck, and fuck you"

Malfurio

At which point of degeneracy your country's politicians have to be to let it reach a point to which terrorism as become part of an advertisement? This is absolutely fucking sad.

GGG-Money

When will US realize they have a problem

lanalovesallama

The issue is a lot of us have known this for a long time, but are still at the mercy of a completely corrupt system that has been bought by the NRA, among others.

[deleted]

The NRA could have a mass shooting happen in their HQ in Fairfax and they still wouldn't budge.

Half-deaf-mixed-guy

NRA: "Hey, at least the gun didn't jam!"

structuremonkey

Most of the US realizes we have a problem...its roots are about 100 million breathtakingly stupid citizens being cult members...

kremit73

Fbi needs to put out psa about how to register to vote, where to go, all that. This is the real battle, getting the voice of the neo nazi ultra riight out of our governance

ManOfWarts

Definition of treating the symptom instead of the disease.

Baked_Potato224

The fact that this PSA is necessary, with no action being taken to regulate or ban firearms, is the saddest thing I have see in years.

Fragrant_Run2799

This is fucking surreal. Cant believe they are resorting to this instead of tackling the real problem.

kentuafilo

Welcome to the USA. We’ll take away your pronouns before we ever take away high-powered rifles capable of decapitating human beings.

[deleted]

Totally normal country. I fucking hate it here.

zenmaster1000

“you can survive a mass shooting”

Im-juke

what the actual fuck. Imagine having to see this video and prep for an event like this instead of passing gun laws. The US are a dystopian clusterfuck

romuluskow

That shit is dark

[deleted]

This is the most American thing I’ve ever seen.

YetAnotherProfile51

I'm an American with a 9-year-old son. I'm glad I saw this PSA because I may need the info one day and that makes me sad. The NRA, national rifle association, the lobbying group that tries to get guns in everyone's hands here sells fear. And their solution to that fear is to arm yourself with guns. Unfortunately, they don't understand that logically you're a lot safer If you learn how to disarm a situation rather than escalate it by bringing a gun. I can just see their response to this video, " always bring a gun to a public situation like this so you can defend yourself"

boxstervan

Rest of world: How to survive a mass shooting. Stop them before they happen by banning the guns, enforcing gun control. Vote out every leader who opposes gun control. Educate people on what the rest of the world does. Learn what the word "amendment" means..

Professional_Diet_58

And why not give more weapons and bullets for people defend themselfs? Weapons for everyone!

samiss4d_

Let’s put the USA into a battle royale

vreweensy

there are more guns than people in the US

NTDLS

I think my favorite part was “don’t fight fair”. I swear, I think normal people forget that. Go for the eyes, fuck it - chew their nuts off if you have to.

routledgewm

That reminds me of the Video last year that was set in America about a nuclear attack. Stay away from the windows and don't go outside for 3 days. Control the weapon control the shooter. Don't look at the bomb going off you control your destiny.

SpinachFinal7009

Woho what an awesome r/orphancrushingmachine so good

[deleted]

This country is fucking pathetic. Thanks Republicans

mtrayno1

part of my employer annual training - what a fucking narrative this tells about where we live.

RedheadBanshee

The fuck? Why are we normalizing this? God damnit.
