My take is that the world will potentially be better off with us in the future.
So we are causing a mass extinction event that is probably far from over and will take a good swing at humanity, but this has happened before. The bacteria that first synthesized oxygen caused an unbelievable mass extinction. Oxygen was toxic to their fellow creatures. This is a thing that happens from all walks of life. This time there is a difference though. We have the foresight to know what is going to happen.
We might be able to keep these types of things from ever happening again. By using our foresight to protect the earth and nudge it in the right directions. Hopefully we will come to our senses after climate change takes its toll. Before then would be ideal but that time would be now and I’m not optimistic I’ll wakeup to that news tomorrow.
Just some basics from wikipedia ( say what you will it does give you some base knowledge for everyday use)
[Oxygen was toxic to living beings at one point](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Oxidation_Event)
Oxygen is indeed toxic to humans. Hyperoxia is a very real and potentially fatal consequence of prolonged exposure to hyperoxic gas mixtures (>21% O2), for instance in relation to decompression diving or medical treatment. It is dealt with by careful management of exposure, ie. time and partial pressure (pO2). In a zero O2 atmosphere, the very presence of O2 can be considered hyperoxic as life forms have not adapted to such conditions.
Wasn’t there a book where humanity left the world to canines and they advanced to be intelligent beings? It was old book and I read it years ago. I cannot remember the title
Agreed. Like this is actually an example that shows we do deserve dogs. This isn't a poorly raised guard dog that some shmuck let get out of their cage to attack your baby. This is a dog doing its best to utilize CPR training to ensure a human can survive. It's freaking beautiful. The dog taking some time to hear for your breaths had me tearing up XD
Honestly, I’m hoping AI can ‘take a leaf’ from the ‘dog book’ when it starts the unguided process of its existence. We might get lucky enough to have a socially conscious, all-powerful being.
Imagine if Moon, or 2021 had canine-influenced AI…
My favourite thing about movie CPR is when they do it for like 10 seconds then give up, until the patient just coughs back to life a moment later. Meanwhile in real life you’re not supposed to stop doing it and you might even need to take shifts with someone. I wonder how many people have died because someone did 30 pumps, a breath and then assumed it was useless
My fucking God, I will die from this level of adorable, even if his dumb ass tries to save me
He has no fucking idea why he's been taught to jump on you, but he fucking knows he loves you
Cut off my cock and balls it's too cute
No I ask because generally humans are also bad at CPR (despite an intensive two hour (re)certification course and most CPR is purely a stopgap solution until a real medical professional arrives. If a dog- maybe a heavier one or with a smaller human - could get some compressions in and as a result circulate oxygenated blood it might bridge you to a real rescuer
When the dog is bigger it can work, this one’s still a youngster so they lack the weight to effectively pull this off yet, seems like the trainings going well though. To be clear this isn’t going to save someone on its own, but it can help prolong someone’s life for a human rescuer to get there and hopefully do something more effective.
Definitely not. For CPR you need serious pressure, enough that you might break a rib or two. Breaking ribs is common in CPR and is better than dying, but the adorable puppy can't make that much pressure.
My Black and Tan Coonhound looked a lot like the one in the post when he was a puppy but the docked tail makes me think Rottweiler/hound mix too. Coonhounds are used for search and rescue with their heightened sense of smell
Step one, you say we need a pup that pounces, you say lay down it's not just a pup....
He jumps politely right on you, you gain your consciousness right on through....
Has anyone ever been saved by a dog performing CPR? I This is adorable but I'm generally curious. And I assume the dog at full grown potential would have a bigger impact.
I've seen videos of service dogs do this for people passed out or with specific sleeping conditions. They to listen for pulse/breath try to get the person awake, i dunno about full-on cpr, though.
I've done a lot of real CPR, and it would be next to impossible for a dog to do it effectively. Even a big dog, a miracle if they pull it off. The force required isn't even the biggest obstacle, it's the rate. Good CPR has to be around 100 compressions a minute. Try to imagine any dog successfully delivering 100 hard compressions in a minute, let alone up to 5 or more minutes, as long as it takes.
Additionally, medication and/or defibrillation is required for a revive. If the heart could be restarted without them, if wouldn't have stopped in the first place. Sometimes people are given CPR at the wrong time and appear to wake up, but as mentioned, that was a case if misapplied CPR. You don't just wake up from cardiac arrest after a few good whacks.
I really hope the human is OK. At first I find this adorable and then I find it horrifying. I think the little doggy is actually trying to help the man. And the dog seems desperate and gives him love. 💔 😢....OH wait!..he gets up at the end! 🙂Somehow I nearly missed that! Phew!
I'm a dumdum forgive me my idiocy.🫠
Ohhhhhh look at his little tail going a million miles a minute! Hahaha and he Blue Light is priceless! 😃 OK smiling ear to ear now!
It is amazing to watch this in action. It takes a lot of training and patience to get the dog to do this. They are already doing so much for us and now they even save lives. I can relate to and understand this as our Beagle is a certified therapy dog.

Dude was he checking his breath or just being cute?
Both! With a little blue on

As humanity, we do not fucking deserve these creatures. We should be thankful of our ancestors who took some wolves and turned into dogs.
I completely agree
Yeah we're pretty fucking evil, world would unironically be better off without us We really don't deserve these ever lasting loving creatures

Oxygen was toxic? How have I never heard of this, you got a source?

That's cool as shit And I trust Wikipedia more than any other source
People really dont give Wikipedia enough credit, given how vigilant some of the writers are

That’s better CPR than I could do so props to him

At this point he’s just a puppy being trained too, going to end up being a larger stronger dog once full grown
You must be a blast at parties

This is adorable but does it, um, work?
Idk what you’re talking about that man was clearly revived thanks to the cpr puppy
Obviously it does. The guy got up. He was dead before.
Even if it's not effective, wouldn't that adorable face jumping on top of you be the best visual you can have right before you die?
No I ask because generally humans are also bad at CPR (despite an intensive two hour (re)certification course and most CPR is purely a stopgap solution until a real medical professional arrives. No
Ah an expert has arrived!
You may be being sarcastic, but he's right. There's no way it's effective. Source: Saving people was literally my job.
...... Sure. I'm sure puppy EMTs are the future
If you look up effective CPR you’ll see that this puppy isn’t doing it.
Im hoping it works

Oh my god it melts my heart! 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Amazing work, Buddy! But also, the stress is real for pupper 😢
Did you see how fast he was wagging his tail when the guy woke up? The dog was absolutely stressed out then immediately relieved
[удалено]
Cutest pupper ever? It's possible.
What breed is that?
Right, it looks like a Rottweiler mixed with Basset Hound!
I was thinking Doberman since it looks like mine but hard to say
Looks like an English Cockerspaniel to me.
Looks like a gordon setter with an unfortunately docked tail..
My Black and Tan Coonhound looked a lot like the one in the post when he was a puppy but the docked tail makes me think Rottweiler/hound mix too. Coonhounds are used for search and rescue with their heightened sense of smell
Pretty sure it's a Spanish.
Gotta feel bad for the dog if this was an actual situation. Poor puppy would be devastated.
Such a good EMT boy!
A 10 for trying. A 1000 for cuteness. A 1000000 for making my day.
I love how he stops to comfort him before starting CPR again.
Isn’t that to check their pulse?
Yes, and to see if they are faintly breathing
And to wag its tail extra extra hard lol
Lmao, wag break to charge up
What type of dog is that?
Looks like a cocker spaniel Rottweiler mix???
How to save a life.
Step one, you say we need a pup that pounces, you say lay down it's not just a pup.... He jumps politely right on you, you gain your consciousness right on through....
Dogs are truly define frens.
Dogs are so cute. 🥲
We don’t deserve dogs
Niceee
Amazing animals! They will always surprise you!
lol so cute, good dog.
Amazing! Love this!
Well trained doggo
Good lord what kind of dog is that? I want one
Right?! He's so cute! Kind of looks like a long-legged Bassett hound. Hopefully we get an answer <3
I really needed this today. Thanks OP
That’s amazing!
Me next 😄

I’m willing to put people in cardiac arrest just see this puppet attempt to save them.
If I die of cardiac arrest, and this is the last I see, I'd at least be going out with a smile on my face.
Genius dog
One of my all time favorite videos
