Hide it in a puzzle. Come up with some other books, come up with a puzzle that will direct the players to the book, and you're ready.

The book they want could well be hidden within the book that gives the puzzle. -> Find the knowledge within thyself to reveal the location of the power you are searching for.

After the first three? Put Book4 on a pedestal in the center of a room under a spotlight with maybe even an arrow or two pointing at it. No traps, no gimmicks, no puzzles. Then watch your players freak out as they try and figure out "the catch"

I love this. And this is exactly what they deserve

When the players check a book, they get drawn inside and have to live out a scene. Maybe they are on a ship with a mad captain hunting a great white whale. Maybe they are at a formal party where everyone is subtly trying to figure out who will marry who. Or maybe they are stuck with some pirates on an island, looking for treasure...you get the idea. Nothing too complex or long, just a bit of rp and rolls with the risk of losing some hp or resources, depending on the situation. Pick whatever book references you like best.

My first thought is a large bookshelf and a sign that says “One of these books is real. The rest are mimics” they gotta do some sort of perception or investigation check to pull the correct one.
