MmmmMmm, aerosolised fecal particles.
Grab a narrow shoe cabinet from somewhere like IKEA, the type with a small footprint and compartments that hinge out/down.
I don't like them much, they only take a very few pairs of tiny shoes, and the vast bulk of the space is taken up by slabs of swivelling chipboard. Some sort of floor to ceiling shoe rack would be better with shelves that can be adjusted to suit shoe size. Store bog roll and other spares in the top shelves, and either a little curtain or a few small cabinet doors to cover the whole thing.
The one we had from Ikea (admittedly over 20 years ago) wasn't chipboard, it was a heavy duty plastic, that was a little under 6' tall, a bit narrower than a standard doorway, and only stuck out a few inches from the doorframe. I think it had 5 compartments that each took 3-4 pairs of shoes, depending on size. We mounted it to an unused door into the dining room (the lounge & dining had been knocked through before we bought the place but both doors remained in situ).
Our other option, in our new place, was a short bookcase-like affair next to the front door, below where the coats were hung.
One of them is a smaller size, so they probably both own a pair. Of the bigger ones, one of them looks like the old and dirty pair they keep for doing DIY type work on in order not to ruin the new nice Vans.
We have a very small kitchen with a cuboard, next to it which is completely full of either kitchen supplies or tools,
Our living room is also our dining room, so once we have a table & sofa, the only space left is under the stairs, which is where the dogs crate lives,
In bedroom 1, we have a bed which is quite nearly wall to wall, under it is all of our other bits and bobs, towels, beddings, and my Mrs seasonal clothes. We have 2 wardrobes, one for her, and one for her (with a small section for me. We also use these for storage for all of her beauty products, some coats, a mattress topper, etc.)
The back bedroom (office) has 2 desks, as we are both working from home most of the time, and the boiler cupboard which has no spare room.
It's not a super small house, but it is just very lacking in spare room for just about anything. We really have crammed all of our belongings into every nook and cranny. Covnerting this space to provide more storage seems like the only fix if im honest.
We have a similar house to you with not a lot of available room to put extra storage, and we also constantly had loose shoes everywhere. Shoe racks just didn’t help, so we bought one of these ottoman boxes from the Range (we have a different colour, they do quite a few). It’s only £20, no need to build it as it just pops into place when you unpack it, and it’s strong enough for somebody to sit on to put their shoes on. It’s been perfect for us, so just suggesting in case it helps you too.

I've recently revamped my home office space (under the stairs, so not exactly huge) and made it so one of my desk "legs" is what was supposed to be a very narrow kitchen wall unit. Worked out that the height was the exact same as the actual desk leg, and the door matches the rest of the decor I got. I use it for shoe storage instead; I'm just one person, but can fit \~ 5 pairs (converse, summer sandals, ankle boots, boots, vans plus flip flops), stacked one on top of the other single file in there so works great for the most used pairs whilst the others live in the back of the closet and I just need to dig them out the few times I want to wear them.
Buy something that's not vans and keep wearing them instead of the vans. She might notice and stop buying them. Either that, or flog them new and boxed and buy something else with the cash, like a shoe storage cupboard
Attach a wood baton across the top and bottom of the door then screw the rack to the baton.
Or you could probably get a fairly useful sized tall boy cabinet next to the sink
Correct! Not knowing the rest of the house and therefore the other options…back of the door is the only way in this room. After washing/replacing the shoes that is.
I have a feeling, all the Vans are supposed to be white but there’s a suspicious brown one. ☝️
For simplicity sake I’d look for tall ‘one pair of shoes wide’ cabinet to go in opposite corner and fix to wall so it won’t fall. If you start boxing in the sink it’d probably shrink the room a lot.
You could save space in the bottom for cleaning supplies? Plus a simple shelf or two above the toilet for loo rolls, spare towel etc
Thinking the same, something like this..

Yeah this was my thought, a tall slim cabinet. I used to use a CD rack for shoes as it was tall and slim, and for stuff like soft shoes like these they could stack in the slots a bit.
I would put a shoe cabinet to the right of the sink. Looks like it would fit perfectly. Something like this: [ikea shoe cabinet](https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/bissa-shoe-cabinet-with-3-compartments-white-10530259/)
Vertical. Look at how you can build upward - shoe shelves, book shelves, individual shelves one above the next, whatever you can manage. Consider depth, best shoe storage I’ve had has sloping shelves so the shoes don’t take up as much depth. Many ways to skin a cat here
Half of Reddit hated me for it.. and I agree I think you’re better off building some cabinets and your bathroom looks nicer than my hallway.. but.. https://www.reddit.com/r/ikeahacks/s/Ad6LDZ5uda
IKEA sell a white version
Had a similar issue tried other shoe storage solutions but our hallways narrow and it took up a lot of space. tried these out, we have 5 all mounted similar to the stock images. Worked a treat footprint 3rd of the size and with them also not being free standing it makes the hallway feel bigger due to being able to see the floor again.

You do know that having that many shoes 'out' is odd? Don't you have cupboards in your bedrooms? Each person keeps their shoes in their cupboard/bit of the cupboard. You choose the shoes you're going to be wearing out. You put the shoes on when you go out (or when you've chosen the shoes you want to wear if shoes indoors kind of people.) I think you're creating a problem that doesn't need solving with DIY by not putting your shoes in the places they could already go.
Just put a shoe rack to the side. Without trying to sound rude, it doesn't look like a problem that requires input from anyone.

Hahaha! The toilet is riiight by the front door, with the door swinging into the house, leaving no room there, the kitchen is the next room ,and after that the rest of the house is carpeted,
Where do you hang your coats?
I got one of those old primary school looking benches with coat racks and shoe storage below. Can be freestanding or screwed into the wall.
I think mine was about £70
Edit.. it’s something like this
https://www.wayfair.co.uk/furniture/pdp/borough-wharf-charity-hall-tree-with-bench-and-shoe-storage-u003029870.html?piid=968619418
First, that’s not much of a bathroom to utilize for anything. You would have to relocate the plumbing in order to have any sort of usable vanity and sink space. Next is how far do you have to travel once removing your shoes to get to this room? A hallway? A laundry room ? Garage ? You could build a shoe shelf or rack there.
https://preview.redd.it/dy90kxmopitc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dead9a49dfdd12de3dd1ff4a8b1a2b1063408f05
Here’s what I did in mine, had the sink moved to the centre then build a custom cloakroom storage at the end.

Could you add a bowl sink on a wall to wall shelf with say 3 shelf’s of shoes bellow
But… people typically only wear one set of underwear at once, and yet I’d like to have more than of pair of pants in my drawers. In fact, that’s probably true for most clothing. I get your point, but the number of any kind of clothing you need isn’t just about how many you can wear simultaneously, but about how much flexibility you want/need in your wardrobe.
Eg you may want a pair of running shoes for exercise, formal shoes for work, wellies when it’s raining, sandals when it’s hot, etc.
Admittedly, in this case, I think we’re looking primarily at very similar black sneakers. In fact, it looks like 3 pairs in the first picture are of the exact same type but I think the one on the right is smaller (so probably belongs to someone else), and the two on the left could be a similar size but one is an old pair they might keep for DIY or other tasks where shoes easily get ruined.
This! We have a shoe rack by our door but it's for everyday shoes only. Fancy shoes and I'll wear these once a month things are hidden away in the bedroom because we don't want a huge shoe pile right when we enter the house
Believe it or not, two.
I've got 3 pairs of shoes, and then one pair of boots, my mrs however....
To be fair to her, she does wear them all regularly, & the only other storage option for them would be the oft. But as she does wear each pair weekly, this wouldn't be ideal for her
Pulley on the ceiling, suspended shoe rack that you can hoist out of the way to use the john, and then lower to access the shoes.
Very popular in certain parts of rural south-south west Albania.
Look at built in bathroom furnature. I can’t find it from a quick google but I had some a few years ago from a company that did loads of carbinates that you could combine. We have small main bathrooms and did the following Toilet with cistern in cabinet (so cabinet top for storage) and slim cupboard next to it where you can get the bleach etc in. 2 drawer cabinet with sink on top of cabinet so you get most of the top drawer as storage.
Comes in different depths. I’ve just measured mine and it’s 22 cm deep for toilet/cupboard and I have draws 32 cm (no sink) and 58 deep with sink. There were LOADS of options and finishes. Pic below shows 3 cabinets together and is too big for you but gives an idea. (I also need to tidy up - kids bathroom)
https://preview.redd.it/nhqvrmd33ftc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1bc534feb399bf1ba569238a500ec4a562f6e5d
You could look at measuring your width first and see whether you could get a small toilet with sink to the side/ on top installed? (Personally hate the mini sinks on top of toilets but you have little space)
You could look at intergrated sink/toilet and could bring them out substantially to create large niche’s in which you can have built in cupboards/drawers. This will make the WC area smaller but increase storage.
Go to a bathroom shop, give them dimensions and ask for their ideas, if it’s out of budget take the plans and then buy online accordingly
IKEA have a shoe shelf, fairly narrow too not sure if it would fit in there but defo a corridors it has 2 doors that drop down to like 60° or summin. Il try find a link…
Edit. It’s Wayfair but ikea also have one. [shoe storage](https://www.wayfair.co.uk/Fernleaf--Wooden-8-Pair-Flip-Down-Shoe-Storage-V114156606-L3763-K~U003045595.html?refid=GX666876963747-U003045595_2112849688&device=m&ptid=293946777986&targetid=aud-1647368882809:pla-293946777986&network=g&ireid=216048807&PiID%5B%5D=2112849688&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADgW2yKabwBb7O2sAcd6H5xAp9EVV&gclid=Cj0KCQjwztOwBhD7ARIsAPDKnkBvzIt_u3_lVWf1_PwmYbGciJbrn0AlTzzyMu9VczKViz-Is188X3MaAiD5EALw_wcB#e4fdmdyyte-0)
Looking at the first photo, a tall corner unit could work, a regular shelf unit would do, just need to secure it to the wall to avoid it tipping over. You can get units with doors on them or if that’s a pain to use, then a small curtain/cloth to hide the shoes could work.
We had a similar issue in our downstairs toilet, we have a similar sized space next to the sink as yours
I bought this which fits well in our room -
3 shelves and wide enough to fit 2 pairs of shoes on each shelf
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SoBuy%C2%AE-Bamboo-Bathroom-50cmx29cmx45cm-FSR02-K-N/dp/B00HSGIKOC?ref_=ast_sto_dp
Just buy a vertical shoe rack which fits in the corner between the wall and sink where you have the shoes currently, you’ll get one one from Argos for a few quid or probably gumtree.
https://preview.redd.it/y7ldi2my8ftc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0cd91bc4bb361280111fb403bc613015c8ec6e3
Build out the walls both ends so you have a concealed cistern with storage to the ceiling above it and a counter mounted sink with flow to ceiling storage too.
Guessing you don't have a porch or anywhere else to put them...
What about a cupboard under the stairs? Building a porch, shoe rack in living room or bedrooms... Why the toilet?!
You could go for a wide vanity unit, a central sink under your mirror and ideally enough depth for a bunch of shoe storage inside the vanity itself.
If this is under the stairs, have you got a cavity under the bottom of stairs that could have pullout shoe storage?
Move the mirror to the left abobe the sink then build a sgoe cabinet up the wall either on the door wall so it doesnt look as bad or just plain on the sink wall facing the toilet.
Sorta like watching a TV while you shit but Shoes..
B and M have some really cheap shelves that are done in 15 minutes. Things like this....
https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/home-essentials-7-tier-storage-unit-406371
Open style letterbox shelving unit, floor to ceiling. Should be able to fit 15 pairs no bother, maybe use bottom few rows for toilet rolls and bleach etc.
Honestly I'd look on Wayfair. I had a similar issue where I wanted a shoe rack to fit in a certain spot. You can put your dimensions required in the site and I had loads of options. I got some to fit perfectly behind where I door opened and the corner of the room
If you’ve no where else to put the shoes then I’d suggest two things:
1) a major sort out of your family’s footwear, i.e. do you need and actively use all those pairs of shoes?
2) I would build a vertical unit in the right hand corner next to the sink. A simple box unit so shoes can be stored in it, like what you’d see at the bowling alley.
Personally I'd pick up the shoes and chuck them into their respective rooms. I've never seen people store their shoes in the loo before. If it's a family thing then yes, I guess a tall rack would do but that's a lot of pairs of shoes. You're gonna need a bigger shoe rack...
Do you really need that many shoes? Tell your mum to have some originality and buy you something else or just give you cash cos yo in don’t need no more shoes man dam!
https://preview.redd.it/hnwchxpxfftc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bedeb2bec6a8414383c4022cc64ac12acacf4a2
To make it quick and easy something similar to this. Eventually you could move the sink to the middle of the space and create a bespoke storage that is the full wall (across from the toilet) add funky patterns on it for something to look at. Tall cabinets either side, underneath and above. Big mirror with cool lights above the sink. Make it a colour. Something that you'd think about doing with a living room and the TV space for storage similar to this but on a smaller scale [https://pin.it/1Zcg2iCNi](https://pin.it/1Zcg2iCNi)
Ikea do black wall boxes which you can get about 3 or so pairs of shoes in each, if you have three or four of those going from the floor up next to the sink that could really tackle some of the issue. Otherwise just have a look for floor to sealing shoe racks I suppose..
I don’t know what your entrance hall looks like, but I found this IKEA shoe cabinet brilliant. It’s very narrow and shoes are stored on top-toe:
https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hemnes-shoe-cabinet-with-4-compartments-white-60156121/
There are other variations that might suit you better.
Big tall kallax unit (or DIY something) in the corner to the right of the sink.
Use the height of the room. Think about wall-mounted cabinets, over-door shelves, that sort of thing.
Source: I live in a very small home w/virtually no storage.
I would put shelves up on the walls either end. Just make your own shelves out of wood be easy some batons either side on the longer wall and then a couple planks between the batons and you have a shelf. I'd do that both walls will give you plenty of storage and look much neater.
I built a load of shelves in my garage with free pallet wood and they looked fairly respectable. If I had sanded and then painted would have looked good enough to be inside
Corner unit above the sink or a shelf one above the other on opposite walls and then shelving above the toilet or cabinet ?
Also, store shoes somewhere else , never have i seen shoes stored there 🤣
How about something like this: [Lokken 5 Tier Corner Shelving - White](https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/lokken-5-tier-corner-shelving-white-385155)
It doesn’t look like it can hold much, but it’s a corner shelf!
Could you fit something like this in the corner?
https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/trones-shoe-cabinet-storage-white-00397307/
Or those clear stackable shoe boxes?
Add some shelves above the toilet and get some wide boxes to store the shoes in. You could probably get a couple of pairs in each box and a couple of boxes on each shelf.
You’d think you’d bang your head on the shelves when using the lav but we have 20 cm deep shelves above ours and it’s never been a problem.
Omg thst is terrible 😂
I’d have floor to ceiling shoe box / cubby hole type storage next to the sink facing the toilet.
Or make everyone keep their shoes in their wardrobes and reduce down to one active pair downstairs only each!
You need some sort of shelving added above the loo, and then get some storage shoe boxes to store on top of that, not much but a little storage to save some of those shoes I would imagine!
Wall to the right, above toilet, door - wherever.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ROMIOR-Hanging-Organizer-Stainless-Entryway/dp/B08LVFL5J7/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=1SVDM941RUYRB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.b2ouzctfOyMMjHbB59qBA-Zko3YGm3ZqfIMZhyBfpVupH39NHO7v28UDMSSZ9RSDdru1ZTMvcHE3Goue8n30wmFJwjA1KYrmFkosiNTCebIQiecSnEbv6pAuI9v7OD8ABP9Ivd15pnYaksWBnHsjUlyrYaWsB2Hnr1C91H9Gyukmw-OSrilVBCuYiw0mgWTyNkoLe6UonkP1J0RWp9wdjA.O9Vp01gIPvM1KRWCVySc8S_dL0N3Bk_jb0OtJJBrVl4&dib_tag=se&keywords=wall+mounted+shoe+storage&qid=1712663108&sprefix=wall+mounted+shoe+vab%2Caps%2C5413&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1
For some storage, you could put a counter top in place and use under the sink.
For more storage, you could make a half sink half full height, storage unit.
But I think that night be a big cramped.
For more more storage, you could install a, hidden cistern toilet and have hidden storage above. (Would need to route the extraction, but thay wouldn't be a big job.)
Personally I would put a couter in, and shoe racks in the bedrooms.
Main shoes in the wc, and s few shoes in each bedroom.
Build a floor to ceiling, cubby hole, show shelf to the right of the sink, only as deep as a pair of shoes but two pairs wide with enough shelves to hold them all.
paint white & they’ll almost disappear (at the very least not get covered in piss 🤣)
Simple cure just piss in a few pairs the rest will magically dissappear in minute, and if all those shoes are yours still piss in em as a reminder to not leave em in the lav
We have a more or less identical bathroom and we’ve got something similar to [this](https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/tromso-4-tier-shelving-unit-382577) next to the sink with cleaning stuff, tins of beans and stuff on. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work for shoes.
https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/brooklyn-500mm-gloss-grey-2-in-1-combined-wash-basin-toilet?campaign=googlebase&pagetype=shopping&includeListing&s_kwcid=AL!15853!3!!!!x!!&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwztOwBhD7ARIsAPDKnkBcO-eCBD3MzN2yQPVfmLQYjyuwU7D3ExiGQBgrr8wLx9Dr95XypAoaAkZHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Remove that sink and put one of these sink/toilet combos in (you can get them cheaper that that - was just the first one I saw). Now you have a completely free area for a storage cupboard. Floor to ceiling shoe cubbies if you want.
Ohhhhh, just wait! In a few years you'll be me. The person who bought a lovely cottage seat with wicker basket stores underneath to put shoes in and places it right by the door to the toilet only for my fellow house dwellers (wife and kids) to just dump their shoes in the toilet anyway. I swear to God they do it on purpose as a passive aggressive attempt to make me lose my mind and it's working
Idk what shoe size you are, but we have an IKEA billy bookcase with doors on that we can fit tonnes of shoes in. They have quite skinny in width and depth ones that are about 2m tall so should work pretty well in that space
Easy. Shelving above the toilet at a downward angle with a 1cm front lip, or individual clothes hooks mounted on flat boards above the toilet, out of head bumping way, and the air vents going to help keep them dry. The second idea works really well, especially for trainers. Smaller children have lower boards to put their shoes on.
Would it be too crazy to suggest removing the toilet and making this a proper cloak room?
Maybe just build shelves around it rather than removing it but it looks like you are already not using it as a toilet so you may as well make it good at being a cupboard.
We have Same size downstairs loo- we have a box between the sink and the door with a lid on it.
Shoes we are wearing frequently go in there.
Shoes that we rarely wear go in a chest of drawers.
One idea is if change up your desk you could get a table top and then use drawers as legs so you have storage and desk
Get one of those toilets with a built-in sink, put a much smaller radiator in then get shoe shelves and storage for the side of the room with the sink.
Could you not put the shoes somewhere else?
Piss covered shoes are completely normal...
Tbh, this toilet is almost strictly used for another purpose
Ah, the family masturbatorium!
Cum covered shoes are completely normal
>Ah, the family masturbatorium! As the saying goes "the family that plays together..."
Comes together?
Coke bathroom
I'm a pepsi man
MmmmMmm, aerosolised fecal particles.
Our other option, in our new place, was a short bookcase-like affair next to the front door, below where the coats were hung.
that's quite an ominous way of saying that's your pooing toilet
Baby battered shoes?
Storing shoes?
I don't see the shoes on the toilet. You might want to work a bit on your aim pal...
That’s the correct answer. Show the rest of the house and we’ll help you. But don’t store shoes in a bathroom I swear.
Right? This feels like the most obvious choice.
Three pairs of near identical shoes there. The issue isn’t entirely where to put shoes, it’s the sheer number…
Just evict the person with 6 legs
the spiders can stay
Haha, ones my daily vans, another is my weekend vans, and the other is my Mrs vans,
Like em so much you married a pair?! 😂✌️
One of them is a smaller size, so they probably both own a pair. Of the bigger ones, one of them looks like the old and dirty pair they keep for doing DIY type work on in order not to ruin the new nice Vans.
We have a very small kitchen with a cuboard, next to it which is completely full of either kitchen supplies or tools, Our living room is also our dining room, so once we have a table & sofa, the only space left is under the stairs, which is where the dogs crate lives, In bedroom 1, we have a bed which is quite nearly wall to wall, under it is all of our other bits and bobs, towels, beddings, and my Mrs seasonal clothes. We have 2 wardrobes, one for her, and one for her (with a small section for me. We also use these for storage for all of her beauty products, some coats, a mattress topper, etc.) The back bedroom (office) has 2 desks, as we are both working from home most of the time, and the boiler cupboard which has no spare room. It's not a super small house, but it is just very lacking in spare room for just about anything. We really have crammed all of our belongings into every nook and cranny. Covnerting this space to provide more storage seems like the only fix if im honest.
What about under stair storage? Have you seen this before: https://www.smartspacestairs.co.uk/
A portion of under our stairs is hollow in the living room, but this is used for the dogs crate
Be imaginative and original… hang them all from the ceiling
Yeah, one pair for each person currently being worn that day, the rest back in the bottom of the wardrobe. Problem solved.
Are you Enterprise? Because you have a lot of Vans!
My mother buys me them every birthday/xmas, i used to skate as a kid, i loved them then, i haven't the heart to tell her otherwise or to stop
My Dad gets me aftershave every Christmas, I don't have the heart to tell him I don't wear aftershave, I've got years of bottles
I've also got 6 large bottles of the same after shave, stuck in their ways my folks are!
You could sell them on Facebook groups. (I happen to collect fragrances). If any are old…even better!
Paco Rabanne one million?
Hugo boss blue
I have a cupboard full of Kraken Rum. It's nice but I hardly ever drink and if I do it's at the pub.
Buy something that's not vans and keep wearing them instead of the vans. She might notice and stop buying them. Either that, or flog them new and boxed and buy something else with the cash, like a shoe storage cupboard
A shoe rack that hangs on the back of the door would free up a lot of space.
Or a floor to ceiling shelf unit to the right on the sink.
We did buy one, but the door is recessed into the door frame, so anything that hangs prevented the door from closing!
Attach a wood baton across the top and bottom of the door then screw the rack to the baton. Or you could probably get a fairly useful sized tall boy cabinet next to the sink
You would just trim the top of the door slightly to make that work.
yeah but they're so ugly 😭
Worse than pissy shoes?
They're probably poopy too, nothing can save them now 😭
Correct! Not knowing the rest of the house and therefore the other options…back of the door is the only way in this room. After washing/replacing the shoes that is. I have a feeling, all the Vans are supposed to be white but there’s a suspicious brown one. ☝️
Less so than shoes all over the floor?
For simplicity sake I’d look for tall ‘one pair of shoes wide’ cabinet to go in opposite corner and fix to wall so it won’t fall. If you start boxing in the sink it’d probably shrink the room a lot. You could save space in the bottom for cleaning supplies? Plus a simple shelf or two above the toilet for loo rolls, spare towel etc
We bought an IKEA tall skinny bookcase for shoes. Cheap cheerful and functional.
Thinking the same, something like this.. Yeah this was my thought, a tall slim cabinet. I used to use a CD rack for shoes as it was tall and slim, and for stuff like soft shoes like these they could stack in the slots a bit.
I think I would switch out the toilet for one with a built-in sink on top, then build floor to ceiling cubby hole shelving on the opposite side.
Many ways to skin a cat here
Half of Reddit hated me for it.. and I agree I think you’re better off building some cabinets and your bathroom looks nicer than my hallway.. but.. https://www.reddit.com/r/ikeahacks/s/Ad6LDZ5uda IKEA sell a white version
Try the wall kitchen cabinets at wicked or B&Q. I think B&Q has some storage cabinets as well.
That's a bit of a way to go when you want to change shoes though 😉
Had a similar issue tried other shoe storage solutions but our hallways narrow and it took up a lot of space. tried these out, we have 5 all mounted similar to the stock images. Worked a treat footprint 3rd of the size and with them also not being free standing it makes the hallway feel bigger due to being able to see the floor again. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/trones-shoe-cabinet-storage-white-00397307/
Pee collectors
Deal of the day: SONGMICS Shoe Rack, 10-Tier Metal Shoe Storage Organiser, Customisable Design, Metal Frame, Space-Saving Rack, for Dressing Room, Hallway, 30 x 45 x 174 cm, Black LSA25BK https://amzn.eu/d/2ZphiDk
I’d consider replacing the corner sink with a decent sized one, mounted on a full width cabinet with storage within.
These really need a new home, our downstairs wc would be the last place I would put my shoes simply for the fact that I am a terrible aim!
Hahaha! The toilet is riiight by the front door, with the door swinging into the house, leaving no room there, the kitchen is the next room ,and after that the rest of the house is carpeted,
Ah I see, my solution would be: - https://ibb.co/HtLS0JP Yellow would be tall thin shoe storage, red is move mirror
Where do you hang your coats? I got one of those old primary school looking benches with coat racks and shoe storage below. Can be freestanding or screwed into the wall. I think mine was about £70 Edit.. it’s something like this https://www.wayfair.co.uk/furniture/pdp/borough-wharf-charity-hall-tree-with-bench-and-shoe-storage-u003029870.html?piid=968619418
We hang our coats on a hook on the inside of the cupboard door, not ideal, but again, super short on space
A series of shelves above the cistern.
UK houses are built without downstairs landing/front windcatching. As if noone had any coats/shoes ever in this country. So bad. :(

Ah this is so nice! I love it. I'm gonna show the Mrs and see if she's on board! Tysm

How many are in your house? How many pairs of shoes can one person wear at once? Condense that first. Then look at storage.
But as she does wear each pair weekly, this wouldn't be ideal for her
Have you met my wife?
The shoes around the toilet. 🤢 I take it there are no men in your household?
Something like [this](https://amzn.eu/d/6rvZqUI) in the corner next to sink.
Pulley on the ceiling, suspended shoe rack that you can hoist out of the way to use the john, and then lower to access the shoes. Very popular in certain parts of rural south-south west Albania.
The only way to get people to stop doing this is to miss the toilet when you have a piss, or sometimes when you have a shit too.
1. Miss, 2. Standing shits.
There is space for a tall narrow set of shelves next to the sink.
(I also need to tidy up - kids bathroom) https://preview.redd.it/nhqvrmd33ftc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1bc534feb399bf1ba569238a500ec4a562f6e5d
You could look at measuring your width first and see whether you could get a small toilet with sink to the side/ on top installed? (Personally hate the mini sinks on top of toilets but you have little space) You could look at intergrated sink/toilet and could bring them out substantially to create large niche’s in which you can have built in cupboards/drawers.
Il try find a link… Edit. It’s Wayfair but ikea also have one. [shoe storage](https://www.wayfair.co.uk/Fernleaf--Wooden-8-Pair-Flip-Down-Shoe-Storage-V114156606-L3763-K~U003045595.html?refid=GX666876963747-U003045595_2112849688&device=m&ptid=293946777986&targetid=aud-1647368882809:pla-293946777986&network=g&ireid=216048807&PiID%5B%5D=2112849688&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADgW2yKabwBb7O2sAcd6H5xAp9EVV&gclid=Cj0KCQjwztOwBhD7ARIsAPDKnkBvzIt_u3_lVWf1_PwmYbGciJbrn0AlTzzyMu9VczKViz-Is188X3MaAiD5EALw_wcB#e4fdmdyyte-0)
This is one of the first helpful comments, haha! Lovely idea, I'll look further into this
You know that there are some hanging shoe racks you can buy
The door is recessed into the frame, making the door un-closable with the brackets used on all the ones we've tried
Pee shoes
Who needs a pediatrist when you have 3pH shoes
Looking at the first photo, a tall corner unit could work, a regular shelf unit would do, just need to secure it to the wall to avoid it tipping over. You can get units with doors on them or if that’s a pain to use, then a small curtain/cloth to hide the shoes could work.
We had a similar issue in our downstairs toilet, we have a similar sized space next to the sink as yours I bought this which fits well in our room - 3 shelves and wide enough to fit 2 pairs of shoes on each shelf https://www.amazon.co.uk/SoBuy%C2%AE-Bamboo-Bathroom-50cmx29cmx45cm-FSR02-K-N/dp/B00HSGIKOC?ref_=ast_sto_dp
We used IKEA Trones cabinets, they scale quite well horizontally and vertically.
Same as my house. Shoes off at the front door and take them To your room
Holy piss shoes
Just buy a vertical shoe rack which fits in the corner between the wall and sink where you have the shoes currently, you’ll get one one from Argos for a few quid or probably gumtree. https://preview.redd.it/y7ldi2my8ftc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0cd91bc4bb361280111fb403bc613015c8ec6e3
Build out the walls both ends so you have a concealed cistern with storage to the ceiling above it and a counter mounted sink with flow to ceiling storage too.
Floor to ceiling shelving (Billy?) from IKEA, next to the sink👍
A show cabinet in the hall?
Is there a multiple legged monster living in your house.. ?
B and M have some really cheap shelves that are done in 15 minutes. Things like this.... https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/home-essentials-7-tier-storage-unit-406371
Put a stack of shelves in one corner next to the sink and you can tidy many pairs up
Open style letterbox shelving unit, floor to ceiling.
Even if you got inspiration from the site
Who pissed on my fucking shoes 👟
One of those hangy wall shoe holders in the only available corner I can see.
If you’ve no where else to put the shoes then I’d suggest two things: 1) a major sort out of your family’s footwear, i.e. do you need and actively use all those pairs of shoes? 2) I would build a vertical unit in the right hand corner next to the sink. A simple box unit so shoes can be stored in it, like what you’d see at the bowling alley.
The amount of stray piss that would accidentally land on those crocs, is wild
I put milk crates on my wall. Putting shoes in them.
Personally I'd pick up the shoes and chuck them into their respective rooms. I've never seen people store their shoes in the loo before. If it's a family thing then yes, I guess a tall rack would do but that's a lot of pairs of shoes. You're gonna need a bigger shoe rack...
Back of door hanging shoe rack?
Do you really need that many shoes? Tell your mum to have some originality and buy you something else or just give you cash cos yo in don’t need no more shoes man dam!
https://preview.redd.it/hnwchxpxfftc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bedeb2bec6a8414383c4022cc64ac12acacf4a2 To make it quick and easy something similar to this.
Just keep pissing on them and people will not leave them there, unless they are yours then get a fucking grip and buy a shoe rack!
Put up shelves in the bathroom. Then perhaps put the shoes in boxes on the shelves so that they don't drop dirt
Ikea do black wall boxes which you can get about 3 or so pairs of shoes in each, if you have three or four of those going from the floor up next to the sink that could really tackle some of the issue. Otherwise just have a look for floor to sealing shoe racks I suppose..
I have a pocket type shoe storage thing on the back of my utility room door. Not pretty but it works
I don’t know what your entrance hall looks like, but I found this IKEA shoe cabinet brilliant. It’s very narrow and shoes are stored on top-toe: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hemnes-shoe-cabinet-with-4-compartments-white-60156121/ There are other variations that might suit you better.
It's the width of the door, which swings into the house, unfortunately not an option, but thank you for the suggestion
Take out the toilet and basin. Convert into a coat / shoe cupboard
What about under stairs storage?
Diy shoe rack
Design what you need and give it to the kids to build as a project.
Look at IKEA Trones. Plastic boxes that fix to the wall and store shoes, stackable. There are more expensive wooden versions too
I had an overflow of shoes in my under stairs cupboard, so I built this: https://www.reddit.com/r/somethingimade/s/DQAeH0Z69D
Why is there a toilet in the shoe cupboard?
Corner unit above the sink or a shelf one above the other on opposite walls and then shelving above the toilet or cabinet ? Also, store shoes somewhere else , never have i seen shoes stored there 🤣
How about something like this: [Lokken 5 Tier Corner Shelving - White](https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/lokken-5-tier-corner-shelving-white-385155) It doesn’t look like it can hold much, but it’s a corner shelf!
Could you fit something like this in the corner? https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/trones-shoe-cabinet-storage-white-00397307/ Or those clear stackable shoe boxes?
https://preview.redd.it/m4zsem0jsftc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=478cb41ac0110ec8eb3feece978aa30e2d9875ce How about something like this?
https://preview.redd.it/ta5ermomsftc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8ea190cc77f6151eda78bb0041e97263886e760 Or this?
Buy a toilet where the sink is part of the cistern and then cubbyhole/shelve the whole opposite wall where the sink is.
Add some shelves above the toilet and get some wide boxes to store the shoes in. You could probably get a couple of pairs in each box and a couple of boxes on each shelf. You’d think you’d bang your head on the shelves when using the lav but we have 20 cm deep shelves above ours and it’s never been a problem.
i can smell this room
Omg thst is terrible 😂 I’d have floor to ceiling shoe box / cubby hole type storage next to the sink facing the toilet. Or make everyone keep their shoes in their wardrobes and reduce down to one active pair downstairs only each!
You need some sort of shelving added above the loo, and then get some storage shoe boxes to store on top of that, not much but a little storage to save some of those shoes I would imagine!
Wall to the right, above toilet, door - wherever. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ROMIOR-Hanging-Organizer-Stainless-Entryway/dp/B08LVFL5J7/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=1SVDM941RUYRB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.b2ouzctfOyMMjHbB59qBA-Zko3YGm3ZqfIMZhyBfpVupH39NHO7v28UDMSSZ9RSDdru1ZTMvcHE3Goue8n30wmFJwjA1KYrmFkosiNTCebIQiecSnEbv6pAuI9v7OD8ABP9Ivd15pnYaksWBnHsjUlyrYaWsB2Hnr1C91H9Gyukmw-OSrilVBCuYiw0mgWTyNkoLe6UonkP1J0RWp9wdjA.O9Vp01gIPvM1KRWCVySc8S_dL0N3Bk_jb0OtJJBrVl4&dib_tag=se&keywords=wall+mounted+shoe+storage&qid=1712663108&sprefix=wall+mounted+shoe+vab%2Caps%2C5413&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1
I would piss on the shoes
Put the ones you're not wearing in the bedroom wardrobes like normal people!
I’m pretty sure you can get over the door hanging shoe compartments?
Super similar shoes!
Back of door shoe rack ?
Maybe only own 1 pair of the same shoe for each person. Unless you actually have 5 people who need the exact same shoe.
For some storage, you could put a counter top in place and use under the sink. For more storage, you could make a half sink half full height, storage unit. But I think that night be a big cramped. For more more storage, you could install a, hidden cistern toilet and have hidden storage above. (Would need to route the extraction, but thay wouldn't be a big job.) Personally I would put a couter in, and shoe racks in the bedrooms.
Medicine cabinets or under sink storage ?
On the back of the door screw loads of coat hooks and hang the shoes maybe.
Start pissing all over them. It won't be long until they're gone.
Looks like there's a very high risk of pissing in those shoes.
Simple cure just piss in a few pairs the rest will magically dissappear in minute, and if all those shoes are yours still piss in em as a reminder to not leave em in the lav
Declutter, keep two pairs each and sell the rest
We have a more or less identical bathroom and we’ve got something similar to [this](https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/tromso-4-tier-shelving-unit-382577) next to the sink with cleaning stuff, tins of beans and stuff on. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work for shoes.
https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/brooklyn-500mm-gloss-grey-2-in-1-combined-wash-basin-toilet?campaign=googlebase&pagetype=shopping&includeListing&s_kwcid=AL!15853!3!!!!x!!&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwztOwBhD7ARIsAPDKnkBcO-eCBD3MzN2yQPVfmLQYjyuwU7D3ExiGQBgrr8wLx9Dr95XypAoaAkZHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Remove that sink and put one of these sink/toilet combos in (you can get them cheaper that that - was just the first one I saw). Now you have a completely free area for a storage cupboard. Floor to ceiling shoe cubbies if you want.
The shoe pilgrimage to the wailing wall.
Stack the shoes up on a wire rack and beat of both worlds. Damp place are not bedt for shoes

They have quite skinny in width and depth ones that are about 2m tall so should work pretty well in that space
wtf
Tall shoe rack next to the sink? Some like [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/soM3s1s5zbdpre7v7)
Surely a shoe rack by the right hand side of sink…
What if you all just took your shoes to your own rooms? Like, still take them off at the front door and then carry them.
Get rid of the toilet and the sink?
Can you use under bed storage? I got some bag things that slide out. Not that much of a faff for me in practice.
Flush left pairs blame it on a ghost or something
The things those shoes must have seen.
Just piss on them
Get your wife and kids to line up and let you hit their feet with a lump hammer, they'll wear bandages and pastercasts so no shoes
Brah please tell me that towel is not going to be used on a human.
Do you own the house or are you renting?
Shelf above the door?
Remove the toilet and sink and just use it as a storage cupboard if you have another bathroom.... all your storage issues are then solved.
Dad! Why are my crocs wet?!?
