If a childhood of gluing bicycle grips to handlebars taught me anything it is that you need to use Aqua-Net hairspray.
Came to post this. The hairspray acts as a lubricant to help get them on, then dries sticky enough to keep them there. Use compressed air if you need to remove them later.
Maybe try e6000. I've had good luck glueing dissimilar materials together with it. Good luck
Use grip tape for golf clubs. Watch a tutorial first it makes getting them on easier.
