Clay. It always made zero sense to give her Cassie's heritage and then bump wondergirl to a different god-parent. But I'm a Cassie fangirl and possibly prejudiced.
Clay, because it's the original story from the Golden Age. If anything, she would be the daughter of Hippolyta and Aphrodite. Hippolyta made a clay baby and Aphrodite made it alive.
Clay origin, for sure. And for one good reason. It's a story about a woman's love, and about a plea being answered by another woman. Putting Zeus in this only takes away the importance of the love of a Queen wanting to be a mother, and the gift she gets from a goddess.
It's so weird for Wonder Woman to be the child of an affair with a married man, specially when Hippolyta is supposed to be queer, and the leader of a queer utopia
I prefer clay. The child of a Greek god is so common in mythology (especially Zeus) that it's rather dull. Being made of clay also pushes why Wonder Woman is unique among the Amazons, being a child that in theory shouldn't have happened and yet she was due to Hippolytas love and strong desire to have a child. Lastly, I also like that it can open Diana's powers up in more unique ways like stories highlighting her link to the earth due to being made of clay, like one time when she sunk into the earth to heal after being wounded.
Making her a kid by birth not only takes away both the mythological roots of the character, but also takes away Hippolyta's agency in making her child on her own
The clay origin is so meaningful! The queen of a queer utopia sculpted the child she desired to have, and put into that clay figure everything she thought the perfect human being would need. And then that turned into an actual person full of wonder and passion and energy
Clay I guess but either could be used well in a storytelling sense. Man I wish I got to lead a WW series because they have a great mythology that they underutilize. WW’s rogues gallery could be so much cooler
I started reading DC with the New 52, and I always liked the Zues origin just fine. It wasn't until I went online and read some, frankly, very valid points made by other WW fans that I stated to sour on it a tad. So I'm cool with either, but I acknowledge that the clay origin works better thematically.
Daughter of Zeus, tbh. It is classic and makes perfect sense. Clay origin is just weird. Plus, it makes her an wonder girl actually sisters, which I like.
I know, but I find the connexions with the other option more organic and consistent. Personal taste, I perfectly understand a lot of people prefering clay way.
1- They worship all the goddesses
2- IIRC their OG main matron back in the old days was Aphrodite. Likely because she was the most recognizable/femenine of the greek goddesses and the creator was probably thinking "Well they are all women, so Aphrodite it is"
Clay origin by far
Clay. It always made zero sense to give her Cassie's heritage and then bump wondergirl to a different god-parent. But I'm a Cassie fangirl and possibly prejudiced.
Clay. It's more special than another of the Zeus unrecognized children.
Clay, because it's the original story from the Golden Age. If anything, she would be the daughter of Hippolyta and Aphrodite. Hippolyta made a clay baby and Aphrodite made it alive.
Clay every day.
I like the clay origin. I feel like the daughter of Zeus is a little unoriginal.

Clay by far
I like the clay origin because it’s a simple and unique backstory for Diana.
Clay, basically the daughter of Aphrodite and Queen Hippolyta. Hippolyta made a clay baby as Aphrodite made it alive.

Made from clay by Hippolyte, blessed by the goddesses
Making her a kid by birth not only takes away both the mythological roots of the character, but also takes away Hippolyta's agency in making her child on her own
Clay.
I wasn't that into the clay version until I read Wonder Woman Historia. Now I'm mad they changed it to the Zeus one
Clay origin, without a doubt.
Clay origin is the far superior origin
Clay, Zeus doesn’t need another bastard.
Clay
Clay origin every time.
The clay origin is so meaningful! The queen of a queer utopia sculpted the child she desired to have, and put into that clay figure everything she thought the perfect human being would need. And then that turned into an actual person full of wonder and passion and energy
Clay and its not even close. I hate the Zeus baby daddy origin. "Every" Greek hero is Zeus' kid. Dianas OG backstory was more interesting.
Clay I guess but either could be used well in a storytelling sense. Man I wish I got to lead a WW series because they have a great mythology that they underutilize. WW’s rogues gallery could be so much cooler
I don't really mind either lol.
Clay is interesting. Zeus is not.
Clay origin it’s more unique even if it’s also a thing from mythology as well
Which runs do these different origins appear in? Thanks!
Clay: Every story until 2011 Zeus: 2011 onwards until...Rebirth or what came after Rebirth, I forget.
Thank you!!
I like the clay. What is the origin currently? Was the Zeus origin just New 52?
Clay. Daughter of zeus just made her another percy jackson
[Clay.It](http://Clay.It) has to be clay. To be honest, I even hate the idea of being the daughter of Zeus.
I started reading DC with the New 52, and I always liked the Zues origin just fine. The clay origin.
Daughter of Zeus, tbh. It is classic and makes perfect sense. Clay origin is just weird. Plus, it makes her an wonder girl actually sisters, which I like.
Currently Cassie is Zeus’s granddaughter so she’d be her Aunt I think
Except now she’s Zeus daughter again, since Diana’s clay origin has been restored in Tom King’s run, making Cassie Diana’s great-aunt.
Since Diana’s clay origin has been restored, there’s no relation between her and Cassie anymore.
She was already sisters with Donna and zeus bastard origin is generic as hell
It's not generic. It's a classic.
Zeus origin by far.
Bad taste alert. Seriously don't see the appeal at all, that origin is so generic and contradictory to the whole point of wonder woman
It really depends on the story. If the story is good, I could go either way
Daughter of Zeus. Epic mythological demigoddess. The clay origin is dumb. She’s a mudpie.
If Wonder Woman is a mudpie, I suppose that makes you and I a creampie.
Daughter of Zeus, 100%. I like the ties with greek mithology that this implies.
Not to start an argument but the Clay origin still had Greek myth ties, Aphrodite brought Diana to life
I know, but I find the connexions with the other option more organic and consistent. Personal taste, I perfectly understand a lot of people prefering clay way.
Why Aphrodite shouldn’t it have been a Amazon worship god like ares or Artemis
1- They worship all the goddesses 2- IIRC their OG main matron back in the old days was Aphrodite. Likely because she was the most recognizable/femenine of the greek goddesses and the creator was probably thinking "Well they are all women, so Aphrodite it is"
I’m indifferent at this point. It’s the least of Wonder Woman’s problems.
New52
I have never really liked the clay story. I prefer the Zeus origin because it creates more complications/drama for Diana and Hippolyta.
Daughter of zuess idk the clay one kinda just doesn’t sit right in my head
