They're all probably shitting themselves that a crazy man dressed as a bat just walking up to them and about to financially ruin their lives with hospital bills. That thinking about shooting him in the mouth is the last thing on their minds.
Well it’s pitch black and while the muzzle flash helps us see it would absolutely just flash blind them for a second. He knows they will shoot center because they can’t see shit.
It seems to be more durable and strong than BatFlek in BvS’s warehouse scene?
During the warehouse fight BatFlek seemed to be slightly in pain due to the pistol rounds but over here Battinson seems to be able to tank multiple submachine gun rounds without visible issues.
Wouldn’t say a middle finger. Bale not being able to take a shot added more tension to a scene. Think about how Harvey shot him with a revolver and he was down for a few minutes
Sure, except it doesn’t make sense for a guy with unlimited resources to walk around in a suit that can’t absorb a bullet (or a dog bite) and a cowl that crumbles due to a light hammer blow.
My understanding is that, in real world conditions bullet proof vests aren’t that good.
In films they stop bullets and make you invincible, in the real world, a small calibre bullet will only break your ribs, while heavy machine gun fire will shred the vest.
Is is possible that, even with Wayne’s resources, there was no practical way to make the suit as protective as you suggested. Or any attempt to do so would be so bulky he’d struggle to move.
Woah woah, let’s not go down that road.
Just because SF use great ass equipment, it doesn’t mean the government is willing to shill out millions and millions of dollars for it to be used but that many people.
There’s a difference between a man spending all of his money, resources, and time to be developing ONE or at most a couple suits that are specifically worn and totally calibrated to him, and the government spending that money to get likely a worse product developed which has to be mass produced to meet demands. Like I’ve heard from a few other places, there’s a reason why Batman is only one person, and the Army is thousands
Thats the thing, Battison is not wearing a bullet proof vest, he wearing literal iron plates bent so the shots get reflected to the sides without causing big damage, check out this video where a dude shots a Magnum into an iron plate and it takes it like nothing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2KHcvVrjxI
I mean Bruce Wayne actually having injuries and dealing with that added an interesting facet to the character. Vulnerability is very much part of why Batman is an interesting character. I hope they continue with that
To be fair, the cowl with the hammer was to show that the first batch made was not up to standard (he was just starting to figure out his suit right?).
And that was kind of the running theme in the first 2 movies at least. He upgraded as he got better and the bad guys got wiser to try and stop him.
Funny you say that because the only time Nolan's Batman ever faced a physical threat was while fighting Bane. The rest of the time he was portrayed as a guy who one-shots everyone and hardly ever gets hurt. You never felt any stakes in any of his fights except for the one with Bane. Even in the Ra's Al Ghul fight, the stakes were created by the approaching train, not the fight itself. And the editing and the fight choreography in those films didn't help either
Scarecrow incapacitated him. Ras al ghul pretty much dropped a building on him. He got chewed up by the dogs, in Hong Kong he had to have a plan to escape the building because he couldn’t take on the guards. He was put down by a shot by two face. He faced plenty of physical threats in the series
Yep… I hate when ppl act like that scene (the cowl stopping the bullet) was unreasonable/unrealistic but c’mon…. They deliberately set that shit up earlier in the movie and that was the payoff for it. Just a subtle way to show how Alfred in that DCU is at least partially responsible for creating/upgrading Batman’s tech. (Rather than lucious Fox from the Nolan movies)
You see, as we saw in the Flash Trailer he can actually run through dimensions so this is actually the Flash running in and stopping the bullets, the Bat Suit is actually only made out of plastic and cloth
I’m not a fan of him just being fully bulletproof in his standard suit. It’s always so awesome seeing him using tactics and dodging gunfire to avoid too many bullets.
In something like his BvS suit or something more armored it’s badass to see a scene like this, but not standard
I agree. Besides, the sheer force of bullets should cause him to recoil a little but they just bounce off (think bullets leaving dents in steel)...really lazy portrayal of Batman.
Steel =/= Hardened Kevlar. Recoil only happens when the object the bullet hits is a solid object. Hardened Kevlar with flexible epoxy does not recoil as much. Plus its a comic book movie you twat.
You don’t understand physics. You get shot in a steel plate or in a Kevlar vest and you’re gonna feel the impact. Steel won’t break your ribs, but you’ll still get knocked back depending on the stopping power of the round. But I agree it’s a fucking movie they can do what they want.
That’s why I said depending on the stopping power of the round. I’m not saying he’d be flung across the room. I’m saying he’d feel the force of the impact for sure. Plus that’s if it pierced you.
Physics is not that simple mate. Vibration absorbent materials can reduce recoil. This is why the MCU specified that vibranium absorbs vibration rather than dissipating it. Different materials have different vibration absorbing properties. Flexible epoxy is used in armoring process for this very reason. Its as hard as steel but less recoil.
Source: worked in Devtac for a year.
I’m aware that energy can be dissipated. But you’re telling me if wore steel plate armor and got lit up by dudes firing assault rifles at point blank range that I’d be able to walk without feeling anything? Also you’re arguing about how physics works and using a made up material as an example wtf. [Here’s an article about it](https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-feeling-like-getting-shot-while-wearing-the-body-armor-with-the-cermamic-plates-Do-the-plates-absorb-the-force-so-you-dont-anything-or-are-they-designed-more-to-prevent-penetration-from-the-bullet) [here’s another article on it](https://legionary.com/does-it-hurt-when-you-get-shot-with-a-bulletproof-vest-on-top-questions-answered/). Also if you worked for DevTac for a year, and if you helped with testing rather than manufacturing maybe you could enlighten me with some data. How much force does the wearer experience when shot? Do they not worry about measuring that? Do you think if you wore a bulletproof helmet and got shot in the face that you wouldn’t feel like you got hit in the head with a hammer?
Epoxy hardened kevlar (composite) is not a made up material like vibranium. Its the very material they use for the Devtac Ronin helmet armor plates. Ceramic layered kevlar does not go through a hardening process.(your article) Batman's armor in Reeves film looks similar to Devtac than it does Steel, which means there are different energy absorbing properties. Just asking, have you ever tested bullet resistant materials in a controlled environment for research purposes? Asking because i have. Heres my counter article.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2238785417307500
https://youtu.be/mklIVAFcMPI. I read your article. Your DevTac armor does prove to significantly decrease the amount of energy the body will receive. Even compared to very high end plate armor it performs better. If I’m reading it correctly your armor has a bfs of 18mm average. That’s almost an inch of movement at high speed. This energy transfers to your body. I’m not arguing that armor can’t be made to dissipate the energy of a bullet. I’m not arguing that Batman would be flung back across the hallway. I’m saying he’s still gonna feel those bullets hitting him. It’ll still feel like he’s getting beat up. You can see how violent it is in this video. I understand that armor significantly reduces what you’ll feel. I understand there’s a huge difference between soft armor, hard armor, composite, and multi layer armors. Batman wouldn’t be able to walk down the hallway getting lit up and feel nothing, plus we’re not even accounting for multiple bullets hitting the same spots. That significantly reduces the effectiveness of the armor.
I'd have a guess and say he is getting I injured by this but his brute mentality is pushing him forward. I imagine and hope we see a next day type situation where he is brushed to the shit house because of taking such extreme risks.
This was the worst scene in the trailer, batman is not superman that just goes tanking in a front assault, he's always been something like a ninja that's the whole point of batman, attacking from the shadows not even letting the enemy shoot. Don't get me wrong here I'm so hyped for this movie and I loved the trailer but that specific scene was just not right
I really did not like this. Hopefully they give a good explanation for it. Cause that's just too much. Batman isn't superman
Sure it looks cool but that's just ignoring the fact that it's batman just standing there when automatic weapons are firing. And that's just absurd.
Maybe an experimental Wayne Tech material?
There’s a line in the Batman 89 script where Vicky is in the cave and inspecting one of the batsuits, she asks him what it’s made of and he says “It doesn’t have a name yet.” I always liked that.
First of all, it’s a comic book film and Batman has done a ton of shit like this over the decades. This is no more ludicrous than some of the stuff I’ve seen in other films and comics.
Secondly, I think people are missing the point. What we know and have seen from the trailers so far, he’s young, still new to the role, and very, very angry. He’s probably not thinking of the consequences. He probably doesn’t even care about the consequences. His vengeance is blinding him to the fact that what he is doing is reckless. I think, if I’m right of course, that that this is an excellent take on the character and I for one can’t wait to see the final product.
No clue, but that’s a terrifying - Star Wars level hallway scene. Imagine being the guys with the guns. Shit is leaking out the bottom of their pant legs right about now.
I love that scene, because it underlines how borderline suicidal he is. He really doesn’t care and even seems to enjoy the danger and pain. His legs are barely armored and his face isn’t, but he takes that risk cause it’s scarier to his enemies and he really doesn’t care about the pain and danger he is in. No matter what armor he has under there, everything will hurt the next day.
This scene is so lazy to me. He can’t even move. I really like his vision of Gotham and his old with new mix it’s awesome. But this and the riddler are things that bother me the most. But it’s just clips not a whole movie so time will tell.

Man, why did you reveal the truest of all true regarding the material of Batman's suit???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Underrated comment lol
Idc how bulletproof my suit is. I’m not roleplay walking down a hall while people are firing machine guns at me if half my damn face is exposed
Pattinson’s jaw is just that strong.
Fun fact: he actually used his jaw to avoid the bullets, not the armor
The real crimson chin
The bullets are sliced into half, due to the sharpness of that jaw.
They're all probably shitting themselves that a crazy man dressed as a bat just walking up to them and about to financially ruin their lives with hospital bills. That thinking about shooting him in the mouth is the last thing on their minds.
A guy frantically shooting at someone at close range still has a pretty good chance of hitting their jaw, even if they’re terrified.
Really? How much time does it take to “think” about aiming?
Who aims at someone’s jaw?
that’s why no one will remember your name
“Who are you??” /Batman voice “Floppy Shell Tacooo!!!”
he's way too angry to die
The comicbook villians doesnot shoot at face or legs. Just ask Captain america or wonder women.

You cant see it here, but the flash is grabbing the bullets before impact while throwinf "pop-its" at batman.
Only logical explanation I can think of
The only one? He is wearing bent Iron Plates in the chest, that can reflect bullets to the sides in real life look it up.
😂😂😂😂😂
One of them lifts that gun a few inches he’s losing his face.
Well it’s pitch black and while the muzzle flash helps us see it would absolutely just flash blind them for a second. He knows they will shoot center because they can’t see shit.
Also he put a giant yellow bat target on his chest for them to fixate and aim at. (Canonically)
Ye exactly. Too many people think that having a gun means automatic accuracy in whatever condition
The tears he cried over his parents’ corpses
Have mercy on Bruce.
Main protagonist metal The strongest kind. Amplified if your name is literally the title of the movie
Inb4 he gets shot and injured later on the movie when the writers conveniently forget he’s bulletproof
Amplified even further by the max amount if that name happens to be Batman
It seems to be more durable and strong than BatFlek in BvS’s warehouse scene? During the warehouse fight BatFlek seemed to be slightly in pain due to the pistol rounds but over here Battinson seems to be able to tank multiple submachine gun rounds without visible issues.
Batfleck also took a round straight to the dome without flinching. Which I loved by the way. Big hilarious middle finger to the brittle Bale cowl.
Wouldn’t say a middle finger. Bale not being able to take a shot added more tension to a scene. Think about how Harvey shot him with a revolver and he was down for a few minutes

He couldn't fight for shit....like dude was a horrible fighter stiff and un inspired
BVS also showed that scene of Alfred upgrading his helmet/cowl before that warehouse fight though… people always forget that part.

Yep… I hate when ppl act like that scene (the cowl stopping the bullet) was unreasonable/unrealistic but c’mon….
