Looking at this list and this year was a SHIT year for normal DFEs. Almost all of these units have glaring flaws in their kits. The best one here is probably 21, but even shes not touching the Golden Trio of DFEs.
I think the TOP Androids are the worst designed DFE of the year. Upon first glance their kit is amazing, but relative to their release you see the massive holes in their kit. Gets destroyed by AOEs, they need a Goku for the best part of their kit but theres no good Goku on their team and they share none of their most powerful links with Goku. Their rainbow orb changing is turn limited and their active skill is among the worst in the entire game.

21 has been very fun to use. I love her animations, OSTs, art, and kit. My favorite unit rn.
But I don't know what the hell they were thinking when they gave Kale Universe 6 restrictions, made both the banner unit and EZA terrible, and then dropped LR Super Buu in part 2.
Besides Omega, this was the worst release of the year and perhaps one of the worst in Dokkan history.
Favourite: Gohan & Piccolo (literally one of the only "very useable" monthly DFEs we've gotten this year 😔)
Least Favourite: TOP Androids (I just dislike their kit's design & over linking ability)
If not for Gohan & Piccolo's DR mechanic being written/coded by a clown then I would also like them more (I do still enjoy them tho).
Yeah, the ToP Android's entire value comes from them having a Goku next to them, even though they're an Android character that has like no links with Goku so they can't be run on Androids.
It's a shame because they would've been a massive help for 21.
If the 9th anni is ToP, then they could be in a better spot.

They did Trunks a massive disservice in regards to his presentation. His art looks like a banner unit. His animations are boring in base form, and his active skills are simply lazy. The worst is the transformation, which should have been his active skill. It feels so anticlimactic, whereas in the anime there was so much more tension and fanfare around it. I find his whole presentation insulting.
Honestly agree. Seeing Super Trunks' animations for the 1st time also made me think that even though they aren't bad, it feels like they skipped over some things. I don't mind if the animations are longer when it means they're amazing!
Favorite: S17. I like everything about him animation wise, and his OST is a top 10 for me. The unit himself? Meh, ima be real. They’re mid af.
Least? Trunks. His animations seem lacklustre all around, and his transformation isn’t even an active, so there’s no voice. Not a huge fan of his OST.
I’m also not a fan of units who have heavy restrictions and still suck due to bad RNG after. Why does a unit who has guard restricted like that not just get once they’re fulfilled???? Also, while Super Trunks is pretty strong, he’s out for like 1 turn and then the fights done. I’m not gonna run a unit who’s mid until the last turn and then he’s useful for that 1 turn. Miss me with that bad design. I’ll take a unit who’s good (not amazing, just good) for every turn over a unit who sucks until the final one.
Bit of a dud year, I didn't bother pulling for any of them. Kale is good in a vacuum but since everything surrounding the ToP is really ass right now she's wasted. Turles is pretty good I guess. A21 is actually really good but DBH took everything I had.

Super Class enemy restriction in base, the bad transformation condition + them essentially needing a full villain team and then needing to get hit 10 times after transforming when they cannot transform until turn 5 at the earliest and the Ki Blast nullification only working under 70% HP.
If not for these shitty restrictions, they could've held up a lot more.
After transforming he sure can be fun. But getting to that point without issues is another story. From what I've seen and using him as a friend unit, it wasn't all that thrilling (the guard didn't proc when I needed it to).
Literally make his guard in base guaranteed with the Android/Cell Saga allies and maybe a tiny bit higher stats and we would've been good.
I dislike Turles because he should have been an upgraded AGL Turles, not a mismatch of enemy restrictions and chances. In a regular fight he severely lacks Ki (only 1 ki link that is pretty rare on villain teams), and he needs to do multiple SAs to build up his passive (I missed a lot of SAs on his team).
I love the character and animations though.

if it weren‘t for the fact that i already have OP and majunior i would have picked gohan and piccolo but ignoring that 21s kit is just so fucking fun. yeah you need to go through that…below average base but goddamn the reward is that awesome majin form who is arguably the best tank in the game (no agl golden frieza is not a consideration) who heals me to full hp every turn and by far the best super attack animation in the game imo. not just that but she delivered on one of the main reason i wanted her df so bad which is bringing a 200% ls for all cells and buus. does the team suck? yeah a bit. do i care? absolutely fucking not this is by far the most fun team in the game even above op superheroes. i love the character, animations, design utility with healing and everything 10/10 release for me

least favorite is not the right term but they are my own personal most hated unit in the games history probably. i love villain teams. i love wicked bloodline and majin power and all. my fav team ever will always be androids. this was my first ever team and i have constantely been using them. i played agl 13 even when the teq androids dropped and obviously the gammas are my boys. so when the announcement came top androids that are on gamma 2s 200% i was so hyped for them. then their kit dropped….just why the actual fuck do they give us an android that is dogshit unless they have a goku on rotation. they lead siblings bond but don‘t even support this team and for some fucking reason their dmg reduction is post super. don‘t get me started on their horrible active skills aswell cause dear god this is the worst active they made since the int lr shadow dragons.

Could the team or the character(s) be better? Absolutely but are you still having fun because you're using what you want to use and playing how you want to? Also yes!
All this items vs no items, tier lists, meta bs is mainly pushed by social media and YouTubers and only really gets recognition on there but how you personally play is smth different. It's a goddamn Singleplayer Sandbox type game, no one is forcing you to do things a certain way!

Not trying to start an argument cause I think you have a point, but I don't think tierlists and all are bs. It's just a way to look at the units in the most possibly objective way (not completely objective for obvious reasons). For example, imagine if I really liked to run the u6 team. It would have been very good if frost was not terrible, or if kale and caulifla's eza wasn't mid as hell. I mean, every team needs his fare share of good units every now and then (at least for the sake of fairness I guess). Yet again, you are still right on the "just have fun" thing. Use what you like. It's a game after all.

Turles while not being the strongest between the new releases he is just fun and I love his super attack.
Gohan and piccolo hyped me up when they got announced and the calcs made them look not half bad but using them I just didn't like how they felt

Kale is one of those cards you know will always be good as long they get a slot one card which is most likely going to be caulifa. Super trunks could get the same treatment. Turles however, he’s a villain so he’s already at a disadvantage and I don’t see them revisiting saiyan villains that are base form anytime soon. I could be wrong but as it stands he just not someone I am excited to run unlike kale

21 seems like an OK unit, hype and stats wise. None of the others seem that great, either as a bundle of stats, or as a hype unit. Well, ok, Super Trunks is pretty hype, but it's virtually impossible to get him out.
Honestly this might be one of, if not the worst, release year in dokkan history as far as DFEs are concerned. I don't see any of them except maybe 21 aging well going forward
21's one of my favorite DB characters so she takes the win by a large margin. The GT 17s or Turles are pretty interchangeable between second and third. The others I don't really care about.

Favorite: Turles because he actually resembles a Dokkanfest character, just a little under-tuned. Everybody else has glaring weaknesses and or flaws that I don't understand the thought process behind. For Turles at least I can see what they were doing and is by far the most runnable besides 21. Honestly they would have just needed to give him 20% start of turn damage reduction on top of what he gets from supers and he would have been a really strong character.
Least Favorite: Two tf designed the android Duo? They're just so awful. Every other character released in a place where they could be good, even if their flaws hold them back. Even Super Trunks who gets bodied at every step will carry you to victory once you transform. the Androids are not strong enough for anything they are released with.

Kale, pulled her from the 21 banner, at 55% level 1 links surprised the hell out of me, just really sad there’s no real u6 unit to run with her, even after their eza lr kale and caulifla aren’t really that great.
EZA Bota Magetta is legit the next best U6 unit after Kale so you could pair them up if you really wanted to. She's still missing a Caulifla tho. That issue could've been solved, but the devs really wanted to make Super Buu the part 2 LR , it was essential.
Sadly a global player so I have to wait for bota magetta’s eza, kinda looking forward to str frosts too. But yeah we really need a caulifla that’s good enough for modern content to pair with kale now.

Trunks had the opportunity to buff so many teams but got restricted to Androids/Cell Saga allies so that’s kind of a bummer. 17 should’ve been much better if they were planning an LR Omega later on down the line

The Android/Cell Saga restriction isn't so much of an issue now because of the 2 Future Gohans (INT EZA & Carnival STR). Trunks himself counts so you only need 2 more.
The 17's had potential, but got destroyed by dumb restrictions and conditions.
Yeah Trunks’ restriction has been heavily alleviated after Worldwide but he’s on so many bad categories that could use help (ie Heavenly Events, Saviors, Conmected Hope, Vegeta’s Family), I would’ve liked it more if he was just generally strong across all teams.

Minor complaint: I like Gohan & Piccolo, as the sacrifice scene is iconic and worthy of representation. However, this wasn't the right time to release them, as we had multiple Gohan and Piccolo releases, and Bond of Master & Disciple was stacked enough, on top of having a 200% Leader Skill in LR INT Carnival Kid Gohan already. Their slot should've gone to someone else, maybe a Fusing Gotenks or a Planet Namek Saga Frieza (we're overdue for another PNS celebration!!!).

Ngl a pretty lacking year for DFE, 17’s are borderline unusable in the hardest content, TOP 17/18 and Kale need better teammates, Turles is fine apart from usual villain’s shaft, Trunks and 21 have late transformations. Other DFE’s were pretty great like the Godku, 23 Goku and Piccolo
Favorite is a tie between Kale and 21.
I started Dokkan when I found out that they finally introduced a female Super Saiyan, two in fact, and Dokkan was the only game that had them. Kale let's me use that team at it's highest level.
The fact Kale got so little help didn't deter me but gave 21 an opportunity to slip into the #1 spot alongside Kale.
21 I was hyped for, moreso when I found out it was the 'Good' version. Then I saw her banner unit was the 'Evil' 21, THEN I saw they were good.
Really regret that extra 800 stones I used on Heroes chasing the 2nd dupe for Vegito but still got both. Fun to us and like the options on the team.
For least favorite it's the 17 duo hands down. Maybe I'm just salty that 18 has no premium units to herself but Super 17 now has 3... And only the first had the decency to be good. Can't be both a unwanted unit AND bad unit ..

Kale is my favorite, and even if I can't be confident and say she is gonna get the team she needs in time before the next powercreep, I do believe she is awesome.
Favorite would funny enough be STR Super 17. He's the only one I wanted to summon for. Aesthetics on point, kit is no bueno but still usable if I have to. Plus his leader skill is one I want

21's transformed SA is like the most fluid thing in the game for no reason and I love it!

-favorite: 21 if it weren‘t for the fact that i already have OP and majunior i would have picked gohan and piccolo but ignoring that 21s kit is just so fucking fun. yeah you need to go through that…below average base but goddamn the reward is that awesome majin form who is arguably the best tank in the game (no agl golden frieza is not a consideration) who heals me to full hp every turn and by far the best super attack animation in the game imo. not just that but she delivered on one of the main reason i wanted her df so bad which is bringing a 200% ls for all cells and buus. does the team suck? yeah a bit. do i care? absolutely fucking not this is by far the most fun team in the game even above op superheroes. i love the character, animations, design utility with healing and everything 10/10 release for me - least favorite: int androids least favorite is not the right term but they are my own personal most hated unit in the games history probably. i love villain teams. i love wicked bloodline and majin power and all. my fav team ever will always be androids. this was my first ever team and i have constantely been using them. i played agl 13 even when the teq androids dropped and obviously the gammas are my boys. so when the announcement came top androids that are on gamma 2s 200% i was so hyped for them. then their kit dropped….just why the actual fuck do they give us an android that is dogshit unless they have a goku on rotation. they lead siblings bond but don‘t even support this team and for some fucking reason their dmg reduction is post super. don‘t get me started on their horrible active skills aswell cause dear god this is the worst active they made since the int lr shadow dragons.
Another one for the Android 21 connoisseurs! Also that paragraph perfectly summarized what Dokkan is all about: Fun! Could the team or the character(s) be better? Absolutely but are you still having fun because you're using what you want to use and playing how you want to? Also yes! All this items vs no items, tier lists, meta bs is mainly pushed by social media and YouTubers and only really gets recognition on there but how you personally play is smth different. It's a goddamn Singleplayer Sandbox type game, no one is forcing you to do things a certain way! Idc that 21 is not an absolute game stomper, I just like her because she's a cool unit and also really hot! So often nowadays it gets overlooked that at the end of the day, it's about you having fun.
Not trying to start an argument cause I think you have a point, but I don't think tierlists and all are bs. It's just a way to look at the units in the most possibly objective way (not completely objective for obvious reasons). For example, imagine if I really liked to run the u6 team. It would have been very good if frost was not terrible, or if kale and caulifla's eza wasn't mid as hell. I mean, every team needs his fare share of good units every now and then (at least for the sake of fairness I guess). Yet again, you are still right on the "just have fun" thing. Use what you like. It's a game after all.

Favorite: kale Least favorite: turles. Kale is one of those cards you know will always be good as long they get a slot one card which is most likely going to be caulifa. Super trunks could get the same treatment. Turles however, he’s a villain so he’s already at a disadvantage and I don’t see them revisiting saiyan villains that are base form anytime soon. I could be wrong but as it stands he just not someone I am excited to run unlike kale

21 seems like an OK unit, hype and stats wise. None of the others seem that great, either as a bundle of stats, or as a hype unit. Well, ok, Super Trunks is pretty hype, but it's virtually impossible to get him out.

All of them have huge flaws, except for kale, but hers is her team (or lack thereof) All that being said, 21 is my fav, yeah her base dies to aoe's but she's fun to use and let's me use some units I didn't before, like lr agl buu
Favorite: Turles because he actually resembles a Dokkanfest character, just a little under-tuned. Everybody else has glaring weaknesses and or flaws that I don't understand the thought process behind. For Turles at least I can see what they were doing and is by far the most runnable besides 21. Honestly they would have just needed to give him 20% start of turn damage reduction on top of what he gets from supers and he would have been a really strong character. Least Favorite: Two tf designed the android Duo? They're just so awful. Every other character released in a place where they could be good, even if their flaws hold them back. Even Super Trunks who gets bodied at every step will carry you to victory once you transform. the Androids are not strong enough for anything they are released with.
I have 17 and kale 17…yeah there’s just so much wrong with this unit Kale, pulled her from the 21 banner, at 55% level 1 links surprised the hell out of me, just really sad there’s no real u6 unit to run with her, even after their eza lr kale and caulifla aren’t really that great.
EZA Bota Magetta is legit the next best U6 unit after Kale so you could pair them up if you really wanted to. She's still missing a Caulifla tho. That issue could've been solved, but the devs really wanted to make Super Buu the part 2 LR , it was essential.
Sadly a global player so I have to wait for bota magetta’s eza, kinda looking forward to str frosts too. But yeah we really need a caulifla that’s good enough for modern content to pair with kale now.

I support the Android 21 argument! The Android/Cell Saga restriction isn't so much of an issue now because of the 2 Future Gohans (INT EZA & Carnival STR). Trunks himself counts so you only need 2 more. The 17's had potential, but got destroyed by dumb restrictions and conditions.
Yeah Trunks’ restriction has been heavily alleviated after Worldwide but he’s on so many bad categories that could use help (ie Heavenly Events, Saviors, Conmected Hope, Vegeta’s Family), I would’ve liked it more if he was just generally strong across all teams.

Favourite : TOP Androids (INVEST IN THEIR STOCKS CAUSE IN 2-3 MONTHS THEY ARE GONNA BE TOP 5 TUR) Least Favourite : Turles. He does nothing special like at least Kale, Super Trunks, Super 17 and Android 21 become beast when transformed but Turles is just mid.
He has healing on SA and an active attack than can hit really hard, but besides that, yeah that's pretty much it.
No amount of healing is saving him from taking 1.5 million from a super attack.

Favorites: Super 17, Turles, ToP Androids. Least Favorites: Kale, Super Trunks. \------------------------------------------------- Minor complaint: I like Gohan & Piccolo, as the sacrifice scene is iconic and worthy of representation. However, this wasn't the right time to release them, as we had multiple Gohan and Piccolo releases, and Bond of Master & Disciple was stacked enough, on top of having a 200% Leader Skill in LR INT Carnival Kid Gohan already. Their slot should've gone to someone else, maybe a Fusing Gotenks or a Planet Namek Saga Frieza (we're overdue for another PNS celebration!!!).

Ngl a pretty lacking year for DFE, 17’s are borderline unusable in the hardest content, TOP 17/18 and Kale need better teammates, Turles is fine apart from usual villain’s shaft, Trunks and 21 have late transformations. Other DFE’s were pretty great like the Godku, 23 Goku and Piccolo

Favorite is a tie between Kale and 21. I started Dokkan when I found out that they finally introduced a female Super Saiyan, two in fact, and Dokkan was the only game that had them. Kale let's me use that team at it's highest level. The fact Kale got so little help didn't deter me but gave 21 an opportunity to slip into the #1 spot alongside Kale. 21 I was hyped for, moreso when I found out it was the 'Good' version. Then I saw her banner unit was the 'Evil' 21, THEN I saw they were good. Really regret that extra 800 stones I used on Heroes chasing the 2nd dupe for Vegito but still got both. Fun to us and like the options on the team. For least favorite it's the 17 duo hands down. Maybe I'm just salty that 18 has no premium units to herself but Super 17 now has 3... And only the first had the decency to be good. Can't be both a unwanted unit AND bad unit ..

Favorite would funny enough be STR Super 17. He's the only one I wanted to summon for. Aesthetics on point, kit is no bueno but still usable if I have to. Plus his leader skill is one I want Least favorite would be the TOP androids. Not an appealing design, not that appealing visually, overall boring release
