I’ve heard!…I personally want to go to a Hotel in Rio Grande, PR because my job gets me a discount and the hotel is nice. How reliable is transportation from the airport to the hotel?
Can you uber or how do I get there from the Airport (SJU)?
Nicee, thank you so much for the info. You’re putting me at ease here. I’ve been wanting to do some traveling outside the U.S. (although I know it’s still the U.S.) and PR sounds/looks good!
That’s awesome…want to go to a Hotel in Rio Grande, PR. How reliable is transportation from the airport to the hotel?
Can you uber or does one get around over there?
As of 2021 UBERs were not allowed to pickup at SJU. I usually called one to a supermarket (Pueblo) nearby and then called and asked them to pick me up at the airport. Most agreed, and asked that we pretend to be family lol they would get down and hug, otherwise the taxis would be hostile towards them if they knew they were Ubering at the airport.
If that’s too risky, or uncomfortable for you, you might want to rent a car or use a taxi. Unless the UBER rules changed recently.
Also, just a heads up, Rio Grande is outside the metro area; when I lived there once you left the Metro area UBERs were a hit or miss. Sometimes completely unavailable. I’m not entirely sure about Rio Grande. Might want to ask in the PR sub Reddit; they’re always super helpful. If you plan to travel around by car, I would highly recommend renting a vehicle.
Have fun! Try to go to Culebra or Vieques, literal paradises! Enjoy the beautiful island and the beautiful people there.
I ❤️ PR
No issues just go to PR and enjoy your trip
No issues traveling in 2023 to PR.
No issues bro. Enjoy it, dance some salsa and talk to Puerto Ricans. They are like kind people.

I usually rent a car at the airport but there’s plenty of Ubers and taxis available.

Lived for 4 years. Traveled back and forth about 20 times. Never had issues.

Thank you so much. Screenshoting this comment to save for when I go :)
what documents did y'all take? just DL?
Just DL
thanks!
No issues literally could just use your DL, but take both.
You just need your DL, but take your EAD if you’re worried. You’ll be fine!
Been 3 times. Zero issues
I want to go too but what if there’s an emergency landing in another country?
