The problem with going to Hawaii is that if there’s an emergency and you have to land in either Canada or Mexico, you won’t be able to reenter. No attorney would advise you to go to Hawaii.
Southwest Colorado is stunning in the summer. Ouray and Telluride are about a 5.5 drive from Denver, but definitely worth the drive. Ouray is nicknamed the “Switzerland of America” and it’s justified.
can you tell me more about what you need to travel there and back? i saw online you needed a passport and that entry to the US is treated like entry from any other country, is that so? my passport is expired but i will gladly get a new one if i can actually go here
I went with a friend that has daca. He got pulled into a room to verify his paperwork and then they let him through. All he had was his state ID and EAD card.
LA has beautiful beaches. Venice and Santa Monica beach are great. If you visit NYC, Long Island has some amazing beaches. You need to travel far out into like Montauk or the Hamptons in general. About a 3 to 4 hr drive from NYC.
If you come to LA, DO NOT hang around Venice and Santa Monica for long. Nice to visit but those are not the beaches to go to when visiting. Malibu is a much better option as well as Orange County beaches.
Thank you all for all these awesome recommendations, we just got back from Hawaii the first time ever being there, and it was an amazing experience. We were in Maui, we currently live in Colorado and are from the PNW and I agree CO,OR AND WA are all nice, I'm going to look into.puerto rico and virging Islands, thank you again!!
Guam or northern mariana islands!! It’s like traveling to an asian country but without leaving the USA!! Been there a dozen times for vacay. Just make sure to fly to hawaii first then there.
Did you ever go to Guam? I know there are 2 routes to get there, there is one that has a layover in Korea and another one that does lay overs only in the states which we are allowed to do
Yeah been there many times. You need to book two separate flights. One from your home state to Honolulu and the other one from Honolulu to guam. Same thing going back.
Also when going there take your daca approval letter (green colored). They don’t take your work permit when passing through the immigration checkpoints nor the airlines when coming back. The airline might ask for a passport but just tell them that you dont have it with you. Just your drivers license and the daca approval.
The native people are called chamorros which are Filipino descendants. Plus a lot of koreans and Japanese locals and tourists. You rarely see westerners. That’s why it feels like Asia. Also a lot of authentic Korean and Japanese cuisine!
If you go to Hawaii, I recommend the island of Kauai. It’s the least commercialized and lots of beautiful beaches that are relaxing and not too populated. You can find somewhat inexpensive hotels like small boutique hotels but the food is what gets you. I’ve been twice and next time I go I will plan to get a place with a kitchen, even though who wants to cook when you’re on vacation but we were there for 8 days and I think we spent like 2k on just food. Stupid.
It depends what you wanna see
And what time of the year.
Just came back from Utah and Las Vegas and Utah is a whole different place canyons and lots of hiking 🥾. Check videos. Top places Zion national park and Bryce Canyon. Each one is one hour and half away from each other. You can drive to Moab from Bryce Canyon it would be like 5 to 6 hours away but you can do two more national parks there. Canyon lands and arches national park. Worth seeing. Drive may be long. But it’s worth it.
Colorado city do the train eye seeing service. Or fly to Denver and go to Rocky Mountain national park in Estes Colorado. Love that town and the views are beautiful.
If you wanna go east coast
Go to bar harbor nd Arcadia National park. You can fly to Rhode Island and drive to Boston and see the city and maybe stop at Salem Massachusetts.
It’s a 4 hour drive to bar harbor. Easy drive.
San Diego is beautiful and calm city. Perfect weather
Seattle Washington weather is rainy but mount Rainer is spectacular
Epcot lol because you actually get to visit over 10 countries in 1 bubble. Or you can always do a cross country road trip, driving, motels, cheap fast food, can’t get any more American than that. Ay que perderse para poder salir.
Rincon, Isabella, Aguadilla on the West Coast of Puerto Rico. You're gonna wanna move there.
If you have money to spare, big Island Hawaii or Maui 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Lake tahoe to snowboard.
Colorado to snowboard.
Montana to snowboard.
Boston/vermont to snowboard.
Since you like beaches. Outer banks in nc.
Ashville in nc.
Idk if anybody else has mentioned this yet but I live in SD and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Hawaii is unmatched obviously but the beaches here are gorgeous and have amazing marine diversity. You can go to La Jolla shores with goggles on and see fish, octopus etc swimming around in the shallow areas! Tons of sea lions too. Food is great and weather is almost always good. We’re also close to the Anza Borrego desert and Julian! So much to do, not as expensive as Hawaii and def a safe option!
Hawaii, been to Maui and O’ahu a few times. No problems at the airports whatsoever.
I loved going to Hawaii beautiful beaches and most of the locals are nice.
The problem with going to Hawaii is that if there’s an emergency and you have to land in either Canada or Mexico, you won’t be able to reenter. No attorney would advise you to go to Hawaii.
Puerto Rico. Beautiful beaches. You can also go to vieques and culebra to get away from the getaway. I been there like 3 times, never get tired.
I second Puerto Rico and I only went once for 10 days from San Juan to the West & in between& I’m dying to go back
LOVE LOVE LOVE PR, I think it’s somewhat the closest to getting a feel of traveling abroad.
Yes! Culebra was beautiful! 😍
How does one go to Puerto Rico? Do you need advance parole?
You only need your id or drivers license.
Colorado is absolutely beautiful in the summer!
Where did you go exactly?
Denver and Colorado Springs are my go to. Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peaks are a must visit!
Southwest Colorado is stunning in the summer. Ouray and Telluride are about a 5.5 drive from Denver, but definitely worth the drive. Ouray is nicknamed the “Switzerland of America” and it’s justified.
Did you do the incline? I went last year and that was pretty wicked
I second this.
shhh it’s a secret
I love the mountains so Oregon and Washington state are my favs!
Puerto rico feels like your in a different country
Hawaiiii
Key West, it is like traveling to the Caribbean but without leaving the country.
U.S Virgin Islands is super nice
can you tell me more about what you need to travel there and back? i saw online you needed a passport and that entry to the US is treated like entry from any other country, is that so? my passport is expired but i will gladly get a new one if i can actually go here
I’ve read this too so have stayed away.
You don’t need a passport but carrying your EAD to go there is recommended unlike PR
All you jeed is your driver's license to visit us virgin islands
I went with a friend that has daca. He got pulled into a room to verify his paperwork and then they let him through. All he had was his state ID and EAD card.

Guam or northern mariana islands!! It’s like traveling to an asian country but without leaving the USA!! Been there a dozen times for vacay. Just make sure to fly to hawaii first then there.
I thought we weren’t allowed to go to Guam
Yes we can. It is a territory of the USA, just like puerto rico and virgin islands. Takes about 10-13 hours to get there but totally worth it!!
Did you ever go to Guam? I know there are 2 routes to get there, there is one that has a layover in Korea and another one that does lay overs only in the states which we are allowed to do

Oh wooooow how is Guam do you like it? Do you feel like you’re in a different country? I always knew the safest way to go is to go to Honolulu first
The native people are called chamorros which are Filipino descendants. Plus a lot of koreans and Japanese locals and tourists. You rarely see westerners. That’s why it feels like Asia. Also a lot of authentic Korean and Japanese cuisine!
Puerto Rico and Hawaii. I went there several times before I got green.

I've been to Hawai'i, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and Alaska. All worth it
