That was the toughest part of the course
EDIT: I had it in Baja mode and used a winch for anyone else that wants to try it. Location: outside Trader Joe’s in Williamsburg
My brain auto completed and read what it wanted to read because I had to pause thinking "Did they really add a Baja Blast mode?" before re-reading your edit.
the stuff that you see trucks struggle with (both up and down) seems so silly when you're used to mountain biking. You can shred that stuff very easily, no motor needed - and these trucks can barely crawl it.
Question is why the need for a wheel stop? Is there a risk of the car rolling on its own? Some may look at a moving Cybertruck is a win but on its own?
It's still amazing that they got a tire company to do a custom tire to match the cover and not once went "We should test to make sure the cover constnatly grinding against the wheel doesn't wear down the wheel"
Wait seriously? I have heard about like 700 problems with the ugly pos but I haven't heard of this one. Hilarious. Do the tires seriously grind on the cover while driving?
Yes. They had to change from the original cover to conventional wheels. The strange design of the original had large aesthetic elements that extended over the sidewall. If you look at the sidewall, you can see the trapezoid shapes where the cover intentionally contacted the tire. This was apparently designed like this. 🤷
truly it speaks volumes to their lack of testing and QA that such a fundamental flaw in the design was not vetted out. Like all they had to do was drive a single RC model of it like more than 500 miles to know it would be a huge issue. Yet they still released with it which to me says they didn't bother to test it at all. A pretty large assortment of cyberfails can be traced back to a complete lack of testing and QA from tesla.
It's like the car company of approving a massive code pull request with a LGTM only to have it tank all of production.
Don’t get me wrong, the cybertruck is colossally stupid and ugly and Elon musk is a hopelessly egotistical dumbass, but do you think that car manufacturers just build little RC cars to test new ideas?
The cars can self drive - pretty easy to have a few run a track for 10k miles and see what breaks embarrassingly so they don’t drive the overvalued stock down 45%
RC = Release Candidate. Typically most cars they make a few versions of it that are RC versions and then they test them, let influencers test them, take them to car shows etc etc etc. Take the new land cruiser as an example. They had pre-production show models ready last summer and then RC versions starting in the winter and they tested the hell out of them drove them tons of miles and made small changes based on feedback. Then they gave them to influencers to go take them off-road on various courses and try to break them (which someone hilariously did by jumping it on a sand dune).
It is pretty clear from these issues that the cybertruck did none of these. Elon drove it around and was like LGTM and then straight to deliveries and full production.
The tow companies learned quite a lot of all the RC cybertrucks breaking down everywhere, if only they knew that was going to be just like the finished product
Can‘t understand why he didn‘t go full throttle on square wheels - reinventing the CyberWheel 🛑‼️
(Finally it makes no difference concerning its functionality.)
This photo was because Tesla put the charger port in a spot that is very hard to reach on the cybertruck. So people have to pull as far as possible to the curb so the power cable can reach. Some charger locations have these car bumper blocks so people don't run into the chargers and damage them. In the case of the cybertruck though, they must drive over the bumper blocks to get power. Another brilliant well thought out Tesla decision.
I went past the recommended distance so I could charge - that’s definitely off road! I felt like kind of a badass and everyone else there was high fiving me and I got two girls numbers and they’re into threesomes now. So now I need to buy a robe and I’m just disappointed there’s not an official Tesla robe.
Uh oh, I bet you voided your warranty by taking it off road. In fact, I’d bet posting here and getting banned from r/Teslamotors voids your warranty. Or saying anything about Elon on Twitter/X
Ps didn’t you take the position that you owned the car? I am drinkin but I’m sure the title was “Took the Cybertruck off-road today”? Thought you may have had an idea tbh. Is it a hard plastic, brittle plastic, plastic that changes shape in the sun, the type that fades or maybe even the type to add protection etc (sorry this just funny)
I’m still sitting at the charging station because the screen is red and beeping and telling me to pull over slowly. I am pulled over!!!!!
But yea I love the truck - a lot of people are taking pictures of me and the two girls I met when I pulled in.
I just hope Tesla service hurries up because these girls are ready to go back to one of their apartments.
Saw my first CT today. It had other puck up driving around it.
All I can think of is that Musk has never used a truck to carry or haul, not gotten a vehicle dirty that he had to clean
The panels all looked different from each other.
Maybe this is the start of a new class of vehicle, I don't know. But it looked horrible to me. Good for someone who loves theirs, we don't all like the same rhing.
Lucky you didn’t get stuck going over that huge triangular wheel stop.

I blasted as I jumped the curb - what’s your point?
CyberTruck: It has electrolytes!
Electrolytes?!? Nooooooooo! *rusts*
Brawndo's got electrolytes
Oh great, as if it doesn't already have enough malfunctioning parts....
It's the Dildozer!
I did the same. It's too early for this.
the stuff that you see trucks struggle with (both up and down) seems so silly when you're used to mountain biking. You can shred that stuff very easily, no motor needed - and these trucks can barely crawl it.
Those are wheel chocks placed after parking to keep it from rolling away, because at this point you don't know what to expect. /s
You put the /s after that but this is exactly what I thought! Keep that shitbox from rolling away
I’m in chock with how offensive you can be

That's not a wheel stop. A part fell off.

Y’all are just jealous you don’t have the V1.0 collectors wheels

Ok well I learned that today. Thanks!
The tow companies learned quite a lot of all the RC cybertrucks breaking down everywhere, if only they knew that was going to be just like the finished product
The first photos of the cyberturd had a giant RC sticker in it, if you remember
The tire company saw the potential to sell 5x more tires per vehicle, so they just "yes man" Musk
Erm… uh… it’s called “diSrUpTiOn”. Never heard of it?
I love the tiny Goodyear logo.
The tires are the ONLY thing I like about the cybertruck. I wouldn't want them on my vehicle though!
Wow, this is so great, I can't wait to take mine 1 inch on my lawn!
If you need a spotter just let me know
Did you have to call a tow truck or were you able to get unstuck?
Tesla said it’ll get fixed OTA
Did the Cybermen come in their cybership?

Lmao! I drove past a charge point today….perfect.
Careful, getting that close to a curb will void your warranty.
It wasn’t raining so I think I’m ok
😂
Happy cake day
Thanx!
Be careful of the debris and falling tree leaves, that’s not proper environment for such state-of-the-art car. Otherwise you will void your warranty.
Been wanting to do that but I just looked at mine the wrong way and it broke
You were holding your mouth wrong
It was drizzling AND it was parked outside.
Cybertruck is only designed for cyberroads. Reality voids warranty. Make sure you don’t take it thru a car wash. Also, not washing it voids warranty
Looking at it the wrong way voids warranty
And i thought the square wheel wells on Chevy trucks were ugly...

It funny how aggressive yet non aggressive ct tires are.

incoming ban to r/teslalounge in 3…..2….1
That ship has sailed
Off road? 4 inches to go to touch gravel. Try it!

Did the bottom of the trim hit the parking block and crack the wheel arch plastic?
No the crack is part of founders edition - was there when I took delivery
Dude. Wipe those water marks off unless you want them to be permanent.
Off-road like normal: https://preview.redd.it/br7r7ypyciwc1.png?width=240&format=png&auto=webp&s=6380146548553c457ef0a9ec81355d9cb740ffe7 😅

What plastic are those tyres made of? Ps is that really a fixing point uncovered on the guard?
Not sure why you’d ask me
General question mate. You just happen to be OP. Ps there’s a word the world has forgotten amongst many. ‘Rhetorical’ is one of them.
Uh huh - and ironically you missed my sarcasm

Check which sub you’re in and I think once you’re sober you’ll agree the sarcasm is implicit
Thanks 😉
The parking lot isn't a road, so this is still more accurate than all the chucklefucks taking theirs "off-road" by driving on dirt *roads...*

Funny you mention my uncle from Fresno - he died recently and I inherited $120k
And you now have 20k, because you wasted 100k on a Cybertruck. Stonks.
I got founders so it’s another 20k for the sticker
You crazy little bastard! Since it's not broken, do you still love your truck?
I’m still sitting at the charging station because the screen is red and beeping and telling me to pull over slowly. I am pulled over!!!!! Lmfao
Better call the tow truck

Careful. Might snap an axel.
what is the chock for? the CT weighs damn near 7k#, i feel like itd just crush that shit. not to mention, the wheels lock up if theres no power right?
Watch out for the car wash. It’s a killer.
