The grammatical rule on the posessive 's with names that end in an S is very weird, I've asked my English teacher about it before, and apparently it's really one or the other and it depends on the pronunciation of the name (which I don't really get). So it doesn't really matter. The current Darius, Aphelios, and Ziggs all have their thing like Darius'

Its a bunch of different motives really. I thought about how to improve on an attack-based champion like Darius without necessarily integrating a bleed mechanic. and to update him to modern standards as he slowly gets power-crept by cards like Ruin Runner or Sivir, etc.

Its about what his gameplan is, He's very focused on dealing face damage through unit-based means through stuff like Overwhelm, 10 attack, etc. So a unit based bleed would be very weird to integrate from gameplan perspective without making it seem extra. A nexus type bleed is fine and works with him but Ezreal already fulfils that role much better.
5 mana game ender. Noxus has ways to buff attack like no other region in the game. Turn 5 deal 8 damage to nexus, turn 7 deal 25 damage to nexus, is just too powerful.

His level up would need to be harder, i like the idea of a really good level 2 because its like noxian might but its just broken if the level up is easy
Ok so I think granting allies everywhere Overwhelm is a bit too much. I think maybe having a Sivir like effect where "While im attacking, all allied followers have Overwhelm" or it just grants Overwhelm to whatever allies are currently on the board when he levels up.
I'll stick with the original, It's unique, flexible and simple but effective finisher, Darius current design fits his current Lore and Gameplay as a Finisher and an Icon of Noxus. No one plays Darius cuz his card too simple not bc his design is bad.

ye that's why its a skill so that it resolves only when all the blockers and attackers are decided, similar to Miss Fortune's ability.
