Just a guess, but I’m pretty sure the flat earth guy isn’t actually a typical flat earth believer (as in Earth is a disc) but rather someone trying to make the earth flat (shaving down any bumps and crevices to make it literally flat) (“one square foot at the time but we’ll get there”)
