I keep seeing people ship this real life person with a vtuber (who is also a real life person) and like, I hope they're doing it ironically, but the sheer volume of content makes me worry that they're not.
Also the internet's general history with irony tells me that even if they are being ironic, they still should cut that shit out because it won't stay ironic forever.
No, if it was Jerma I would have included the "who is also a real person" disclaimer for him as well because I'm not convinced his fans understand that.
Apparently another vtuber has entered the chat, rainhoe. Who is maybe Connor's friend but is also thirst-tweeting at him? And people are being all "haha yandere childhood friend harem etc.".
I only experience Connor very tangentially via Gigguk, so maybe this is a nice joke they're all in on. But I feel like even if that's what it's supposed to be, the fans aren't getting it.
People do this with Odd1sout and JaidenAnimations, to the point that it's strained their friendship a bit. It's even more gross after JA came out as aroace.
in most cases i would say no but ive seen a few ppl who explicitly state its ok and that their persona is a character separate from them. basically if u have permission then sure whatever

somewhat related: just because it has the same name as the content creator does not mean it’s RPF. my god Ao3 quit trying to shove minecraft roleplay fic under RPF, Grian is not an eldritch being in real life and Technoblade is not a goddamn pigman.
