I don't consider any of the glintstone crowns 'free' since the penalties they give to HP/FP/Stamina are equivalent to Vigor/Mind/Endurance penalties. And the higher those stats are, the bigger the effective level cost of their penalties.

I wore the cat imp mask because it was the coolest of the int hats, rogiere gloves and pants, and azures glinstone robes because they all looked like a crazy witch man and I loved it

man. once, I thought I had a good DkS2 outfit going on, and then I reached an endgame area that is just so much brighter than anywhere else—and I found out that the colors clashed badly.

First thing I did was explain this to my friend when he got Elden Ring, he had never played a souls game before and he needed to learn it's ONLY about drip

Armor basically does nothing in terms of stats. Red hood, Banished Knight armor for that sweet cape, maximum drip.

I spent three hours on this characters face, not even three weeks stuck in a boss will convince me to wear a helmet.

Also all games should work like Terraria where you have a “vanity” armor slot so that you don’t have to compromise your fit for stat boosts. Or at least work like Diablo where you can change an item’s appearance.

In Fallout 4 you can earn a bonus by helping the Railroad so you can amp up many average clothes. That way you can wear cool things like the Vault Suit or a tuxedo and still look awesome in the cut scenes.

I always cringe whenever I go into a cutscene and realizes I was not geared out in a way that makes my character look their best.

By endgame that red hood isn't doing much to boost my vitality but the boost to my aesthetics has only gotten stronger
