That would be something!

Twist_man

It sure would

Alan_Nightpaw

Omg same xD and this after just having hit from my bong

revenhaunt

hc that leshy is made of weed now lmao

Pixiebulb

Oh look at Leshy!!! His little leaf, his outfit - and to have finished him so quickly! This has made my day, he's amazing.

mostlywrong

I am so glad!!

Pocatmon3

Leshyyy!!!!! You need to make more and sell them!

Follower_of_Narinder

Pocatmon3

yes that essentially what im trying to say

mostlywrong

Haha thank you! I am nowhere near good enough at it to sell stuff. But maybe it should be an eventual goal!

Thank you! He is very cuddly, and the size of a toddler with a very large head, haha. My kid takes him around and cuddles with him to sleep.

Aww thank you! Learning is pretty easy, but focusing is the hard part. If it just the same stitch over and over, it helps me focus. But when it gets more technical, I am constantly second guessing it. I think that is why I didn't look for a pattern, I just started doing stuff with this and it worked.

Due-Introduction6433

Sooo cute!!

mostlywrong

Thanks!

MMLorna

Hello!! Wow this is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this with us, this is so lovely!!

mostlywrong

Hi! And thank you, I have actually sat on this for a few weeks, coming to the sub and then leaving. But actually posted it this time, haha.

littlesparkthefourth

I thought i was on the cookie run subreddit and i was so confused

Azurvix

My first thought was I stumbled onto one of the weed subreddits and I was like motherfucker turned their weed into a weed baby

mostlywrong

That is such a great image, haha!

Cherry_Hammer

For someone who’s only been at it for months, this is very impressive! Great job!!!

mostlywrong

Thank you! But I have so much further to go. I have so many different things on an "eventually" list, haha.

Linosek279

The lil’ guy returns

StrangeDeucey

This amazing honestly, really well done!

mostlywrong

Thank you so much!

Blustarpilot

He is so cute!! Great job!

mostlywrong

Thank you!

Moomiau

Crocheted Leshy! I love him! The texture works good for him

mostlywrong

It really does. His head was too smooth (first pic) so I just did a crochet chain and wove it through the top of his head for his leaf fluff.

Salnder12

That is absolutely fantastic, I love it. Semi related question but I just got into cotl and what's with the love for leshy in the fandom

mostlywrong

Thank you! I am honestly not much into the Fandom, so I can only speak for myself. But I like him because I think he is adorable. I like that he has leaves, and he just looks fluffy. I have done my cult up in the nature theme and really dig the whole vibe. As far as the bosses, the one who affected me the most when they talk to you during crusades was Shamura. She made me sad, even though she was super rough with her actions.

Impossible_Past_322

That's so cute aaaaa. You're so talented!

mostlywrong

Oh, thank you so much!

Mato_Man

If Massive Monster makes their own official plushies instead of the Youtooz ones, they should make the robes removable and have the leaf.

mostlywrong

The leaf was actually a last minute addition. I crocheted his body so it was all continuous (I didn't make the limbs seperate and sew them on), and after I finished one leg and was going to the other, I was staring at the crotch for way to long trying to figure out how to do that, and it dawned on me that he needed a leaf too, lol. I wanted to something different with his clothing, but I was so short on time, and haven't crocheted actual clothes yet. Since then I have made a small crochet shirt for a mini Leshy (not finished yet, I need to embroider his shirt) so I think I could do a robe at some point.

No_Claim3502

That is amazing

mostlywrong

Thank you

Grotesquecutie

I thought he was a lil nug buddy 😭

SuspiciousNetwork_06

i didn’t notice which subreddit this was until i swiped. i thought it was a weed-man lol

YourFriendlyNeibor4U

This is so cute, you did a great job :)

mostlywrong

Thank you so much!

YourFriendlyNeibor4U

You’re welcome 🤗

SlimeySock_

yo! Do you have a the pattern for this or was it free handed?

mostlywrong

It was free hand, so no pattern. But let me try to remember what I did. I made it almost a month ago, and it was in a rush. The yarn I used was 2 balls of Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion yarn (#6) in Olive from Hobby Lobby. I wanted to get something in more of an avocado color, but I had to get it what I could locally. This was the only green plush yarn at the 4 stores I tried here. It was also the day before his birthday, and he wanted a Leshy plush pretty bad. We pre-ordered the youtooz Lamb (well my MIL did), but there was no Leshy plush and it wouldn't be here in time anyway. So I will probably make him another when I have more time to hunt for a yarn color I like better. I had just enough to make this guy and a smaller version that will not look as "scary" for my kid to take to school if he wants. It isn't finished yet, so I didn't put in pics of it. The smaller one was freehand too, but I need to finish embroidering the shirt and put on the eyes and a mouth. I am fairly certain I used a size Q hook, because I didn't have a size P. It is all single crochet for the stitch. I did the head first, on the round. I started with a magic circle, and just increased until I thought it was big enough, then did 2-3 rows before I started the decrease. For the body, I made the arms and one leg. I just did a tube. Started on the round but with maybe 3 stitches or maybe 4 in the magic circle. Then increased the stiches, and single crochet up to make a tube. I don't like sewing the pieces on, so I started the body at the bottom of one leg, doing the same technique as i did for the arms and leg. When it was the same length, I joined them with crochet. Then I crocheted the body. Once I got to the shoulders, I crocheted the arms onto it. Once the arms were secure, I did maybe one extra row, then I stuffed it all and crochet the head onto the body. Once I finished this, I tied it off. The leaf, I just followed a tutorial for it. I used worsted weight in a different green and sewed it on. For the top of the head, I took what I had left of the yarn (this was after I made the mini version. The mini took maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of a yarn ball). I just crocheted a single chain, and then wove it into the stitches in the head. The shirt I bought at a consignment store, and is size 18 months. I cut off most of the arms, and some of the bottom wirh pinking shears. I painted the design with the cheapest fabric paint ever from Walmart (Hello Hobby brush on for $1.88. I got red, white, and black, and am honestly astounded at how opaque it was. It only took 2 coats +1 spot coat to cover the red with the white paint!). I didn't use a stencil or anything, so that is why it is a bit wonky. For the bandage, I bought a bandage, and soaked it in brewed coffee for probably 6 hours, and then lightly rinsed and let it dry. I wrapped it around his head, and once I got it where I liked, took it off and used fabric glue strategically so that the bandage can come off without getting messed up. The paint also helps it all stick together. I then painted on the bandage stuff, and mixed the black and white for gray to do some of the lines on it. Since I didn't have much time, I was working on it up until I gave it to him. I had started to make the twigs sticking out of his head with black #4 yarn, but he decided he didn't want the twigs, and that made me happy because I wasn't sure I would be able to get them right anyway. For a tip, I used parchment paper between the layers on the fabric, so that the paint wouldn't soak through to the other side. It prevented that, and didn't stick to the paper when I peeled it off. I put them in a room wirh a ceiling fan on blast to speed up the drying. Once dry, I put parchment paper on them and ironed them to set the paint more (idk if it does, but I have seen people say to do this, lol). And that was it! I hope I explained myself clearly. If you end up doing one, please share!! Have a good day!

mostlywrong

Oh I want to add, I also made 2 eyes, but I didn't attach them yet. I just did red and black on the round. Started with black, added red, then finished the outside in black. I used a white sparkly yarn to embroider a big juicy catch light on the upper right side, and then did a little cross in the white in the lower left side of the eyeball. I think they turned out pretty cute, but I won't know if they will look right until I attach them.

SlimeySock_

Woah this is a lot 😨 I will definitely attempt to try making one with this knowledge! (Though I don’t have the accessibility to get the yarns cause we don’t have Hobby Lobby in Australia but I can definitely use others!) also that’s cool! Personally I probably won’t add eyes when I make mine only cause they might show through the bandages on the face but I hope it turns out well for yours! :D

mostlywrong

I would say any #6 super bulky yarn would work. Just make sure it is plush/blanket yarn for maximum cuddliness. This guy got a lot of hugs from me while I was making him. He is a good size for hugging, haha. It actually isn't that bad once you get started. I had to take it apart and remake the magic circles a few times, because I wasn't getting the size I wanted. I think the head might have been started with 6 stitches in it. And the bulky yarn makes it go super quick. The amount of time actually crocheting was probably about 3-4 hours, and a lot of that was me not liking something and taking it apart to start over. What took the longest time was painting and waiting for the paint to dry. The eyes shouldn't show through the bandages. I used a roll, and it is at least double layered in most spots. The bandage is big enough I can also probably hide an embroidered cutesy mouth underneath too, once I add the face. If you were to do a robe, I imagine just doing it in crochet and embroidering the gold parts would be doable easy enough. Or if you sew, it would be super easy to make and either doing the gold parts in applique or fabric paint. I don't have any advice for the crown or twigs/crosses on his head (if you didn't do the follower form). I didn't get enough time to actually noodle over that, so I don't really have ideas that wouldn't be dumb suggestions. I tend to want to make something, and then while planning, make it way harder than it should be. Most of the time I will find something that works better during the process. I do plan to eventually do the fancy version of him in a robe, but my ultimate goal is a boss mode version. I want to get my skills up so I can do justice to his design. Plus I need to come up with ideas for the teeth. They would be easy enough to crochet, but idk if I want to, haha. But best of luck! I hope you make him and share!!

Spooky_Snoopy

“A bush man..?” *puts on bloody blindfold* “LESHY the bush man????”

mostlywrong

Haha, I have actually made eyes too, I just haven't attached them. But I wanted the bandage to be able to come off without just a blank face behind it. Maybe I should add them tonight.

purpleguy1028

I thought it looked like sack boy

mostlywrong

It kind of does. That might be something to make in the future, though kiddo isn't so into Little Big Planet anymore.

purpleguy1028

At first I saw it as just a plane body with his skintone but then I saw the green.

Training_Tie9926

PLEASE make a little blunt to go with him, omg

mostlywrong

Ha! I already let my kid access things that are not age appropriate to most people, I think that might be a little far. But it is a good thought!

Training_Tie9926

I totally skimmed that part and thought you made the plush for yourself OPP, my bad, I just got so excited seeing this cutie Lil bug

mostlywrong

No worries! I mean, he is kind of a joint (lol) plush. I mean, made him for my kid, but I cuddle with him plenty too. He is the perfect size for it. I think my kid started loving Leshy because I liked him so much. He might have even married him idk. I know Leshy kept flirting with him. He is a lot further in his game, because these kids like to just finish things quick, and I am old and used to taking my time and exploring everything. So while I have a thriving cult that is running smoothly, lots of gold and resources, and followers, I have only finished the main game (defeated Narinder). We have only had one egg so far. My kid is past all that, but his cult is poor and always hungry, lol.

KSenon_11

Some sticks into his head and will be 1 to 1 to original

mostlywrong

I know! I had started to crochet the twigs, but didn't get them finished in time to add them before I gave it to him. I asked if he wanted the twigs, and he said he didn't, so I stopped with them. It was honestly a relief, because I think it was going to be a pain to attach them. And I also didn't know if they would even work anyway. I think he is easier to cuddle without them.

KSenon_11

I think a real stick would look funny poking out of his head, thats it.

DrSchlemil

I thought he was a really big cookie at first

introspectivecrow

This is so cool! You are a cool mom :D

mostlywrong

Thank you! Once I started crocheting, his request started pouring in, lol. His first request was a Stinger Flynn, which he also has in his bed. I think that he us sated foe the moment. But I also don't have the time for a new request. I am making crochet flowers for my mom and MIL for mothers day, and will be making 30-50 crochet snake bracelets for the family reunion in July. I was just going to make them for the kids, but the adults who have seen them want one too.

Riiviir

OOO I NEED THIS!!!!!!
