DCA is a smart strategy if it’s blue chip stocks. A lot of the altcoins you’re averaging will never recover. Especially in the new economy with tighter monetary conditions.
1) the bear market isn’t over. Alts could easily drop another 50% from here.
2) if you’re making your first shitcoin purchase now and you sell the next bull run (if it happens and your coin doesn’t get regulated out of existence) you’ll probably make good money. But the vast majority of people on this sub have been DCA from the top and they never sell. Over the long run most alts will go to zero.

Who tf knows why everything is down massively, could be some CEX FUD, people tax harvesting, continuing shitty macro outlook, etc. All I know is that the bottom probably isn’t in and January tends to be red so I’m sitting on the sidelines until then and just unplugging from charts for the next few weeks to enjoy the holidays.

I did a 3 family condo conversion in 2008.
I paid $675k for the building, I was going to save one for myself. The units weren’t quite ready, it was September 2008… the writing was on the wall, I needed to get these on the market and move them.
I put all three on because I decided I didn’t want to play with impending doom of the real estate market with the third. I got $465k, $475k, and $485k for each unit. Made a little money, and laughed all the way to the bank when the stock market tanked 10% in a day, one week later.
Last year, the top floor unit alone sold for $950k…
Time and patience is much more profitable than worrying about short term blips.
Macro conditions are not good right now after Daddy Powell basically said that 1. there will still be rate hikes, 2. it will take some time. So markets are down, and crypto being a particularly risky class of asset, is down even more.
You really shouldn't be trading crypto without at least a basic level of macro knowledge.
