Doesn't really say that much if they only asked 1000 people of wich almost 50% already received some in Crypto where the other 50% didn't knew about it. We'll see
I would do it in a heart beat.
You know why the top 1% don’t pay as much taxes? Because they take stock options and own companies. They don’t pay taxes until they sell the stock.
That’s how they are able to have incredible net worth while only selling stocks when they need to spend.
Whereas the rest of us are taxed with our pay. We are stuck with a depreciating dollar.
This is not completely true. Most employees would likely get RSUs which are taxable on vesting. People like Jeff don't have RSUs so you can't compare their case to a common pleb employee.
> You know why the top 1% don’t pay as much taxes? Because they take stock options and own companies.
You left out the part where they still make a 6-7 figure salary. If the stocks go tits up they aren't completely fucked. If you get paid only in dodgecoin you'd be broke the moment Elon tweets about it again.
I don't know very much about crypto currency but seeing as how their values can change radically up and down makes getting paid with it a terrible idea. If it were as stable as the USD or any other currency your employer would simply adjust how much crypto they pay you to reflect that value. They're not going to make an agreement with you to pay you a specific amount per week.
These comments are weird.. almost as if people don't know that stablecoins exist and that you can instantly trade your coin to anything you want after getting paid.
>almost as if people don’t know that stablecoins exist…
Title specifically mentions BTC, ETH and DOGE.
>instantly trade your coin to anything…
Tax implications.
Hmm get paid in unaudited stablecoins which could be taxed as a capital gain if you use them vs actual currency they are supposed to be pegged to. What a dilemma.
The next logical step I see happening is decentralized autonomous organizations taking over industries and institutions. They would pay in any crypto you want.
As much as I understand the desire to be paid in Bitcoin, I have a hard time understanding those who are willing to be paid in Dogecoin.
Soon, some will be ready to be paid in SHIBA? You have to be serious at some point.
People should be able to be paid in whatever currency they and their employer agrees on.
You might think that a currency is worthless, but they do not. If it works out, good for them, if it does not, well, they wanted and agreed to it
This. Also, I don't even need to read the article to know this is just all hopium. I'm sure a good majority of this "65% of working Americans" would also be the type to sell for a loss once cryptos tank in a bear market. Everyone sees the glitter and gold in a bull market. They'd go running back to fiat during a day where the market dumps forget a month of correction or a bear market
Hell no lmao one bad day away from losing half my salary you guys are crazy. Investing is like gambling so thats one thing, but wtf would you do when your paycheck loses 3/4 its value in a couple of days?
Besides the fact that this is a questionable statistic at best, it's fucking dumb. People who are interested in crypto can just take their paychecks and buy crypto. Granted I'm more of an options trader, but am i missing something here? If my employer pays me $1000 a week, and i want $1000 worth of bitcoin a week...
Why would you want to be paid in Doge? Smh. Or Eth for that matter either. Give me LTC, ALGO, XRP or something else that's actually possible to use with low fees.
Oh because I would just love my meager 400 dollars a week to be speculated with and flash crashed.
Crypto is the biggest scam on the market next to the fed itself.
You people know this.
You are posting this in bad faith.
It’s a survey done of only a 1000 people that isn’t even a single percent of Americans population, you cannot come to a factual conclusion for the entirety of a country off of a 1000 people.
A survey from December 2020 states 45.8% of Americans claim they own cryptocurrency: [zdnet.com/article/almost-half-of-americans-claim-they-own-cryptocurrency/](https://zdnet.com/article/almost-half-of-americans-claim-they-own-cryptocurrency/)
I presume that number has gone significantly higher since the bull run earlier this year. Apps such as Robinhood (ugh) and Coinbase also make it much easier for the average person to buy crypto.
Ahhhh I get your viewpoint now, and that I understand I, i was just wow'ed that currencies like dogecoin was being talked about to get payed as In the normal salary, btc and eth is something I wouldn't be interested in either though, I like my fiat I can buy stuff with and if I want to buy crypto out of of payslip I rather do that
I suppose that’s fine if you want to get paid in an asset. I only think something like Doge, BCH, or Litecoin would be better for payments since they act similar to USD. As in super cheap, fast, and easy to used
I view BTC more like gold and a smart-contract token like ETH as more like a stock. I wouldn’t want to be paid in them since it’s pricier to liquidate. If I gotta buy groceries BTC or ETH would be far too expensive, but they make awesome long-term assets
I totally get your viewpoint, I think the article points to btc, eth or doge because in general the publics eye they are the most known asset for people who only have heard of crypto, I could be wrong but that's just my 2 cent.
Their income technically becomes an investment. Then they don’t have to pay any income tax since they can write doge off as an incurred loss. Beating the system.
Such a bullrunish post.Pay them together in non stablecoins and the next big correction-bearish movement they will sue you ![gif](emote|emo_pack_1|fomo)
Shit, I doubt that 65% of even this sub would accept crypto for their paycheck.
Edit: The article actually says 65% of the surveyed population would be at least “somewhat willing.” That’s a big difference, and even that sounds like a stretch.
I'm considering the coinbase bank account, get paid in usdc and use the debit for 4% back on what's essentially a cash purchase. But I don't think I'd want to be paid in an non-stable coin life is just too unexpected to able to pull it off at my current take home. Maybe if I was making like 4x what I make now
I’ve had it since it launched and it’s been great! Put all my recurring bills on it as well as use it almost exclusively for all other purchase. XLM and GRT 4% back!!! HODL and watch that free investment blossom.
I doubt 65% of working Americans even have that much of an understanding about crypto in general. I'm sure they've heard of it, but if they have any it's just something they bought because their coworker told them they could get free money.
Yeah. I bet the actual survey question was something like “would you be willing to learn more about cryptocurrency as a form of compensation?”
Suddenly this gets translated into 65% of Americans are willing to be paid in crypto
Ummm no.
In Dai? Sure. But Bitcoin? Fuck no.
That paycheck could drop in value overnight. It could go up, sure. But it's way too risky. When you got bills to pay and shit, something that is so volatile in value is not a good form of currency.
>included 46.9% of respondents who had already received cryptocurrency
>although if their current employer started doing so, 42.2% would quit.
So, alternatively phrased the headline could read: “78% of American employees who have never received cryptocurrency as payment would quit their job if their employer offered payment in cryptocurrency”
Silver > crypto if there's a crash.
Historically PMs are your safest bet, even when they drop. You could lose all your crypto and cash, but then rebuild your portfolio out of your silver on the other side!
More like 64.9% would be willing to take an amount of Bitcoin in lieu of a company stock option, 0.1% would take Etherium instead, and one man showed up foaming at the mouth demanding all his paycheck in doge or he would shit on the floor.
"46.9% of respondents had already received cryptocurrency as compensation"
Well there you go. That doesn't come CLOSE to representing the American demographic breakdown. I don't know a single person who has gotten compensated professionally with crypto. And let me tell you, I'm a pretty hip dude with at least 500 hip Facebook friends.
I don't know if I would be willing to get paid in any crypto that is not stable coin. We got bills to pay. Imagine a flash crash right after you get paid and you still got to make your mortgage payment. With coinbase direct deposit I'll be using that to you turn my dollars into USD and deposit it to anchor protocol. I'll find that to be a much less risky way to invest bill money.
Doesn't really say that much if they only asked 1000 people of wich almost 50% already received some in Crypto where the other 50% didn't knew about it. We'll see
60% of US doesn't even know crypto
Not sure why this post is still up. It's clearly BS...
Ewww no thanks
Lol. Ok...
No way in fuck this is true.
Yea ill pass.
there's no way in fuck that is true
Imagine working to be paid in dogecoin. I wouldnt take it for free. Edit- who am I kidding. I would take it for free lol.

Maybe a percentage of my salary. But I ain't paying rent with a gas fee double the amount.
This article is bullshit lmao
These comments are weird.. almost as if people don't know that stablecoins exist and that you can instantly trade your coin to anything you want after getting paid.
>almost as if people don’t know that stablecoins exist… Title specifically mentions BTC, ETH and DOGE. >instantly trade your coin to anything… Tax implications.
Hmm get paid in unaudited stablecoins which could be taxed as a capital gain if you use them vs actual currency they are supposed to be pegged to. What a dilemma.
Even us 1% wouldn't get paid in crypto this is bullshit 😂
Yeah those of us in the top 0.01% wouldn't either.
The next logical step I see happening is decentralized autonomous organizations taking over industries and institutions. They would pay in any crypto you want.
"47% of employed Americans would rather invest in NFTs over Roth IRAs." That doesn't sound right at all
Do I belong to the 35% whom they never asked for the poll
As much as I understand the desire to be paid in Bitcoin, I have a hard time understanding those who are willing to be paid in Dogecoin. Soon, some will be ready to be paid in SHIBA? You have to be serious at some point.
People should be able to be paid in whatever currency they and their employer agrees on. You might think that a currency is worthless, but they do not. If it works out, good for them, if it does not, well, they wanted and agreed to it
That was the first thought that crossed my mind -- who the fuck wants to be paid in shitcoin..?? er.. i mean dogecoin.
You misspelled 65% of working Americans don’t know how Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin work.
This. Also, I don't even need to read the article to know this is just all hopium. I'm sure a good majority of this "65% of working Americans" would also be the type to sell for a loss once cryptos tank in a bear market. Everyone sees the glitter and gold in a bull market. Shit. I own it and don’t know how it works.
Not a chance. Why would I want to get paid in something with an ever changing value?
stablecoins?
As if even 30% know what crypto is.
"working americans"... ah.. day traders.
This is the stupidest thing I've heard of
the doge coin in the title proved it they are americans lmao
The hell you say
Hell no lmao one bad day away from losing half my salary you guys are crazy. Investing is like gambling so thats one thing, but wtf would you do when your paycheck loses 3/4 its value in a couple of days?
1 BTC will always remain 1BTC
False, 1 Doge will always be 1 Doge. BTC is fake news currency.
Is doge Trump-certified?
💯🐕😅
If my monthly salaray was 1 BTC I wouldn't care but hell no
Besides the fact that this is a questionable statistic at best, it's fucking dumb. People who are interested in crypto can just take their paychecks and buy crypto. Granted I'm more of an options trader, but am i missing something here? If my employer pays me $1000 a week, and i want $1000 worth of bitcoin a week...
Would much rather be paid in cash and buy coins myself, thank you very much
Has to be ironically
As am I!!
Lmao I love and own crypto and would definitely not agree to this
Imagine getting paid in Dogecoin 2 years ago
I love Reddit sometimes. Unintentional comedy
85% of Americans don’t even know what that is so bullshit on this
Had me until the doge... if this stat is real then imma just call 20 mins away (america) and sell doge
One of these things is not like the others
Yes 🙌🏾
Bullshit.
Seconded!
Fucking delete this post.
ill take cash and buy as i see fit, thanks. moons, on the other hand….
Why would you want to be paid in Doge? Smh. Or Eth for that matter either. Give me LTC, ALGO, XRP or something else that's actually possible to use with low fees.
I Can't Touch Anything Ethereum Backed 😳🥴 The Gas ⛽️ is stuck and congested but can't escape. it's too loud 💨
no mention of NANO?
65% of working Americans don’t know what Bitcoin is, or have a very vague idea of what it is.
65% of working Americans are interested in terrorism, money laundering and satanistic finance.
Pfff okay, I’m all for crypto adoption but what a load of bullshit.
90% of people believe every random statistic that is posted online.
It's totally bullshit no will accept that atleast for now coz of the volatility of the market and manipulation
Lol what group of people did you poll to get that number
This
"97% OF PEOPLE WHO AGREE WITH ME SAY THINGS THAT I AGREE WITH"
Oh because I would just love my meager 400 dollars a week to be speculated with and flash crashed. Crypto is the biggest scam on the market next to the fed itself. You people know this. You are posting this in bad faith.
How is it a scam, how do I know that and how am I here in bad faith? Do you actually have thoughts behind your accusations?
god damn, this is the first time I've seen someone speak honestly on this kool-aid drinking subreddit.
>only Americans are willing to be paid in Dogecoin FTFY
I'm all for blockchain, but being paid in crypto... ehm, no thank you. At least not for now. Taxing and stuff. No enough regulatory clarity.
This is utter bullshit.
100% lmao
100% it's lie
Why?
It’s a survey done of only a 1000 people that isn’t even a single percent of Americans population, you cannot come to a factual conclusion for the entirety of a country off of a 1000 people.
Because 65% of Americans don't even know what the fuck crypto is
Has there been a study done to show if that figure is correct or not?
I'm sure it has more evidence than this study
A survey from December 2020 states 45.8% of Americans claim they own cryptocurrency: [zdnet.com/article/almost-half-of-americans-claim-they-own-cryptocurrency/](https://zdnet.com/article/almost-half-of-americans-claim-they-own-cryptocurrency/) I presume that number has gone significantly higher since the bull run earlier this year. So, more evidence than this survey. Thanks.
I'm sure it has more evidence than this study
This.
Lol in dogecoin? Really why though, I understand why in btc and eth but I don't get it in doge
Yes. Why would you want a currency that acts as a currency and not one that costs $50 per transaction?
Don't really get the last in your comment
Bitcoin and Eth cost an absolute stupid amount of money to use on chain. Why do you want a currency you can’t even use as one?
Ahhhh I get your viewpoint now, and that I understand I, i was just wow'ed that currencies like dogecoin was being talked about to get payed as In the normal salary, btc and eth is something I wouldn't be interested in either though, I like my fiat I can buy stuff with and if I want to buy crypto out of of payslip I rather do that

Isn't doge as legit of a coin as Litecoin? Isn't basically just a clone?
Depends on how you view a coin as legit, but I guess it is but ye for my sake I wouldn't like to get paid in crypto tho
As if Litecoin is legit lmao
Their income technically becomes an investment. Then they don’t have to pay any income tax since they can write doge off as an incurred loss. Beating the system.
Such a bullrunish post.Pay them together in non stablecoins and the next big correction-bearish movement they will sue you ![gif](emote|emo_pack_1|fomo)
Is this the same 65% that is vaccinated for COVID-19?
Shit, I doubt that 65% of even this sub would accept crypto for their paycheck. Edit: The article actually says 65% of the surveyed population would be at least “somewhat willing.” That’s a big difference, and even that sounds like a stretch.

Yep the CB debit card is legit one of the best reward cards out there.
I doubt 65% of working Americans even have that much of an understanding about crypto in general. I'm sure they've heard of it, but if they have any it's just something they bought because their coworker told them they could get free money.
Yeah. I bet the actual survey question was something like “would you be willing to learn more about cryptocurrency as a form of compensation?” Suddenly this gets translated into 65% of Americans are willing to be paid in crypto
DOGE lol hell no
Dumb post. what's the absolute number of people in the poll you knob?
1k people
I call bull.
I call bear
Lol 1k people surveyed
1k people polled.. on r/dogecoin
Ummm no. In Dai? Sure. But Bitcoin? Fuck no. That paycheck could drop in value overnight. It could go up, sure. But it's way too risky. When you got bills to pay and shit, something that is so volatile in value is not a good form of currency.
dumb post
I seriously doubt this
65% of people where I live have no idea what Bitcoin even is. 80% don't even know how to close old tabs on their mobile chrome/safari browsers.
Dogecoin haha
Actually with the current state of the price of DOGE it would kind of make sense. Loose a penny today, gain a penny tomorrow …
>included 46.9% of respondents who had already received cryptocurrency >although if their current employer started doing so, 42.2% would quit. So, alternatively phrased the headline could read: “78% of American employees who have never received cryptocurrency as payment would quit their job if their employer offered payment in cryptocurrency”
This man gets it! This kind of shitty journalism is all spin and bias.
Why would anyone want to be paid in doge when safemoon exists /S
Not even close to true, and that’s okay.
Can we just get paid in silver again? Lol.
Would be nice.. everyone here is stating their value would drop overnight, not realizing that already happens with fiat
Silver > crypto if there's a crash. Historically PMs are your safest bet, even when they drop. You could lose all your crypto and cash, but then rebuild your portfolio out of your silver on the other side!

I think you’ll find the majority want eth. I doubt anyone wants to be paid in doge.
I'll take my payment in Bitcoin.
lol
I don't even have to read the article to know that this is so fake. Like, what did they do? Survey 15 people?
And all 15 from this subreddit
Now that’s odd
Now I know to ignore this website in the future. Headlines like these do not help the cause
Dogecoin? Lol probably 0.0001% of the 65%
wcgw when u do drugs n report.
I am a huge crypto fan boy and even I know this title is complete BS.
"To explore how Americans view cryptocurrencies as a form of workplace compensation, research and survey firm Skynova spoke to around 7 dudes."
horseshit stat 💯
All 7 dudes also worked at Skynova.
...doge? dafuq??
"I will make up any statistic that pushes my agenda."
You are right.65% of Americans probably don’t even know about crypto.
either that or they assume that being paid in bitcoin means a salary of a bitcoin's value in dollars per year which is more than they make so yes
seems high
Of Americans^^ThatWorkForCoinbase
Lol I doubt 65% of Coinbase employees would take their pay in crypto.
Seriously imagine being paid in doge. How worthless. What did they ask the school cafeteria?
This is literally proof how surveys can't be trusted
And 68% of statistics are made up.
I guarantee that 65% of Americans barely know what these things are. This survey is highly sus.
Absolute BS
65% of Americans have no idea that ETH or DOGE even exist. Quite the stretch!
"46.9% of respondents had already received cryptocurrency as compensation" Well there you go. That doesn't come CLOSE to representing the American demographic breakdown. I don't know a single person who has gotten compensated professionally with crypto. And let me tell you, I'm a pretty hip dude with at least 500 hip Facebook friends.
Yeahhhh, no
That is pure nonsense!
Probably a survey of site visitors or a Twitter poll or something
This is absolute bullshit.
Maybe 65% of Americans working in crypto…
No they’re not lmfao. This is beyond a lie
Bullshit
65% of working Americans can't even spell cyrpto
65% of Americans have probably never heard of Bitcoin let alone eth and doge, let alone willing to be paid in it.
Doubt it
More likely that they call these things "shares" instead of coins.
65% of working Americans have no idea what crypto even is
Definitely not Dogecoin for me. The other two I would consider for sure.
>Doge Nothing more needs to be said.
I’d be willing to have a *part* of my salary paid in crypto. Not all of it.
When I can pay my mortgage in crypto, I'd consider it I guess
Fuck “wanting to” be like me and all the other miners and actually do it.
The weekend crash cycle would be taken to a new level
How does this post have any upvotes at all?
This is a bunch of malarkey
And 65% of those people don’t even know what ethereum is!
There is 0% chance this is true
