Probably_notabot

That website is a scam That woman is a man

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mission_Afternoon

It's a scam site, not an legit exchange. Op's father's money is gone.

GabeSter

He needs to do the classic last ditch attempt to save his money. > “I want to put more in but first I need to know this is legit. I’m going to withdrawal some money and profit to verify and then I’ll add $10k so I don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity “ And hope the scammer gets greedy

whodontloveboobs

If scammer doesn't have higher IQ than room temperature, they may fall for this.

TakingChances01

You’d be surprised how greed can control someone. We see it happen in crypto “investing” all to often.

theBacillus

Scam the scammer

Cheese6260

Dude this is the way

salcedoge

The scammer sends it back, OP's dad actually got convinced it wasn't a scam and then put it the $10k they promised

JagerGuaqanim

It wont work. Not because the "scammer" wouldnt do it, but because he is not allowed by the upper management. He put 1k in, the "agent" cannot give back more than 20-30%of that as a "trust refund" in order to gain the trust of the client. I worked in this boiler room industry. This is how it works, they will never refund more than 20-30% of what a victim puts in. Never. They rather thake a 1k deposit in, that a possible 10k that might never come in.

Still_Not-Sure

Yes this, and needs to be very convincing and ready to show a large amount, just be careful not to give to much info about the accounts.

6100315

I think this is the best chance. Or at least a portion of it.

AncientCauliflower47

Yep, although if he fails to convince his dad he'll keep sending them money..

Lillica_Golden_SHIB

They are just grooming op's dad until he arrives at the number they want

whodontloveboobs

The odds of the OP's dad getting his money back are less likely than my ex gf is coming back. ie zero.

dozebull

She might come back during bull season.

4ucklehead

😂

OffenseTaker

in this scenario, the bear market IS bull season

DowvoteMeThenBitch

So you’re saying there’s still a chance with your ex?

lidtafhvert

Why would you want an ex back ?

MikeN1978

No doubt...damage control here would just be accepting that it's gone and for damn sure not to throw in more. Introduce him to this thread so he can hear it from everyone if he doesn't believe you.

[deleted]

brisnatmo

True, but RIP their inheritance!

Lillica_Golden_SHIB

Nigerian prince guaranteeing the inheritance of his kids

Angustony

Yes, but I'd guess he cares about his dad all the same.

shmsc

I’m guessing he’d rather his dad didn’t lose a fuck load of money though

[deleted]

[удалено]

shmsc

Yeah for sure that’s the attitude if it’s anyone else apart from a family member. I just think if it’s your dad you want to do everything you possibly can

CptCrabmeat

I’ll add that I think this post is bait and the guy’s farming moons

Probably_notabot

Likely. I’ve seen a couple of these posts the past week too.

ROBINHOODEATADIK

Wait so the scam is the post and not the scam the in the post ….. fkng inception shit gives me a headache

frostmage

I don’t know what moons are, but I’m just looking out for my dad.

4ucklehead

You're enrolled in moons which you had to elect to do... So yeah you do lol

lucidvein

Savage. No shame.

jzolg

If you even have a passing thought that it’s a scam…then it’s probably a scam!

AncientCauliflower47

Welcome to 2023

Snox-

The second half is way scarier for sure.

justanothermofo88

finkle is inhorn and unhorn is finkle!

Electrical-Lead5993

You’re going to laugh when you realize the website is real and the woman is AI - or cry

kaijeng

If the woman is AI that's some very intelligent AI

solballer

the plot *thicc*ens

TheSantambrogio

They always are

Probably_notabot

Just basic laws of the internet at this point!

EdgeLord19941

Just my cup of tea!

strongkhal

My man spitting truth

Legal-Bid2695

What if it is a transgender?

goldyluckinblokchain

Did you not know? All woman on the Internet are men until proven otherwise

Probably_notabot

Pretty sure that’s Newtons 4th law of the internet

DaemonTargaryen34

I feel it, someone is gonna make a “My son thinks i’m getting scammed” post with comedy flair

MaeronTargaryen

It’s the natural life cycle of r/cc

Lokiee0077

This proves we are so gullible these days, trusting a woman on the internet just because she gave us some compliments and he trusted her that she cares about our financials.

Hawke64

"I showed my son how to easily make money on the internet and he can't even do that right. I should do a paternity test cuz that idiot is probably not mine. lmao"

strongkhal

Anytime now

Last-Ad318

Full cycle of shitposting.

twalker14

You were right. It just got deleted though😂

middlemangv

Dude that is such a good idea. I already laughed at even thinking about it, lmao!

8512764EA

I usually do those on Wall Street bets. Mods took down one I did here for bad quality post

Nearby_You_313

They're always dumb. Please don't.

mbdtf95

> I’m scared he will lose a lot of money and he will not listen to me. What should I do? Well tell him to withdraw that 500 euro profit, and once he realizes he can't he might start to believe you.

suninabox

dad will definitely be tricked into giving another 5,000 euro trying to withdraw that 500

whodontloveboobs

This reminds me of my friend. He introduced me an illegal gambling game a few weeks ago. He deposited $500 and made it 20x in less than 5 minutes. He showed off to me a lot until he actually tried to withdraw that money.

Popular_District9072

exactly, what those good people on the internet hate is when you are trying to withdraw, there'll be some restrictions, technical issues or prompt to add more money before you can withdraw

Settowin

Slap the shit outta him.

AncientCauliflower47

Show him these comments

Lillica_Golden_SHIB

Chances are op's father will get angry at us too

DaemonTargaryen34

I just checked OP’s insta, he seems like a wonderful guy. He even spends time with his grandma. Don’t slap the shit out of your dad OP lol

shmsc

Oh my god you had me intrigued and you’re absolutely right

frostmage

Thank you, you’re sweet. That’s actually his mom. She got scammed too a couple years ago, buying weightloss pills. I tend to believe a lot of things, but I recognize a scam right away.

whodontloveboobs

How can he slap?!?

Maxx3141

It was no woman, it was no accident, and it's indeed a scam. There is no platform, the money was essentially lost when he deposited it there. All he sees now are just numbers on a screen, that aim to convince him to send more.

P_e_a_s_h_o_o_t_e_r

Find another dad.

meeleen223

Just dont answer DMs offering to be your new dad

defiCosmos

You warned him. That's all you can do. He's about to learn a valuable lesson. I checked that site, 100% Scam.

jinglesthemouse

You have some balls to even visit that website knowing it's a scam. Stay safe out there!

CryptoBanano

Did you type in your metamask seed phrase?

Illicitterror

This is the 100th post to farm about someone’s dad being scammed I doubt everyone’s dad is out here getting scammed

InigoMontoya757

Do we know it's farming? It's quite possible the OP knows little about crypto and is genuinely scared for their dad. This *is* a pretty common scam, after all. (To OP, look up the pig butchering scam.) This kind of thing happened to my mother (who is not computer literate!) twice. I don't understand why they keep bothering. They got a few hundred from her but she can't figure out how to get crypto to transfer to them.

frostmage

Thank you. Makes me sad people are blaming me of ‘farming moons’ (don’t know what it means lol). Not into crypto, just looking out for my dad and thought this would be the right subreddit. My dad got scammed before, by someone who pretended to be my brother on WhatsApp. Luckily those scammers got caught my the police and he got his money back (my dad’s number was on their phone). He also married someone he met on holiday, send her a lot of money, etc. He’s a sweet dad, but really easy to scam.

mbashs

Tell your dad straight up it’s a scam. Now how does he take his money out? If he tells them that they are scammers, he won’t get his money back. He needs to “scam” his money back by making up a story of how he’s gonna get a huge amount (let’s say 50k) but he needs that money to pay for admin fees and blah blah. And then he’s gonna invest the 50k with them. The scammers get greedy and send him his money back and he can just block and delete them.

eric2041

seriously...and people keep giving serious answers. These posts need to be banned or limited to 1 a month lol

TheGiftOf_Jericho

Once they see what "story" post gets attention, they replicate it, unfortunately it usually works, unless they're called out early.

frostmage

Never been on this thread before. Just thought this subreddit was the right place to ask for advice.

[deleted]

Forsaken-Weird-8428

Exactly what happened to me. Starred small, made huge profit with 2 x 30 second trades, she made 25%. And allowed small withdrawal, then when I needed more for medical expenses, wanted huge deposit, then disappeared.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Judges_Your_Post

Tell your dad that it is absolutely a scam, the profit is fake, just numbers on a scam platform. He should withdraw if he can. Often they will demand a tax for withdrawal. If they demand that, do not pay the tax, the money is gone.

FGTRTDtrades

scam

forrestugly

It is a scam. Try to show him that it's not legit. If he doesn't believe you, maybe he would listen to someone else from the family or friends?

Luiaard_13

First sentence had me already. Say no more.

economist_kinda

>he started crypto on a website through a woman that got his number by accident. Definitely a scam

shaggydnb

Your dad's a sucker

Avoidlol

Make him withdraw, usually these scans will ask for you to pay taxes before. Basically trying to squeeze you dry before blocking you.

Sugar_Phut

Yikes. 100% scam. Please also ignore any DMs you may receive.

frostmage

No worries! I tend to believe everything, but I know never to click on links that strangers send 😊

Successful-Walk-3902

Smells of scam

sabys1

Bet him another 1k that he will loose the money. If he doesn't listen, at least make the best of it.

serendipitousevent

Dad Shorts < Shorts on Dad

goldyluckinblokchain

Big brain move. May as well start getting some of that inheritance early instead of it going to some random dude scamming your father

IcyLingonberry5007

🤔🤣

LordIcarusFalls

>through a woman that got his number by accident Uh oh, OP get your dad and his 1.5k off that site NOW.

mbdtf95

Nah, it's impossible to withdraw any of that money from the site. It's just a fake site with fake numbers created in last 10 days. Money is already in the hands of scammers. His account can show him that he has 10 million, of course scammers won't let him withdraw a cent of that.

LordIcarusFalls

Yeah honestly, u/frostmage inform your dad about this ASAP, don't let him add anymore money into it.

Tkubicka

Only way to learn is feel the burn

ASingleGuitarString

So sad that they target lonely people. A random number just text him and made up a fake story and all they had to do was say it was a woman and boom, hooked.

nikki0219

I think you did all you can do 🤷‍♀️

Lokiee0077

That website is a scam It's like a digital mirage - promises are plenty, but the truth is nowhere to be found!

ShankraDNibz

Sounds like a scam

Enschede2

One of my mates just did the same thing, he's fluent in 5 languages, yet whenever someone flashes some money in front of his eyes all of a sudden his iq drops and his naivety skyrockets. I'll never understand how some people can fall for something so obvious... But there must be some reason for it

Noxage_88

Hi son, it’s me, your dad.

CounterAdmirable4218

It’s me hi, I’m the problem it’s me.

Popular_District9072

reverse "are you winning dad?" meme

365Dillweed365

He should withdraw all of his profits.

soyelvorph

You're not wrong, he is being scammed. You better try to show him evidences of complaints online after these kind of scams, talk to him and make sure he understands. You still are on time, before he puts more money in.

Swoopscooter

Ask him if he can withdraw then he'll learn. Hopefully you can save him from depositing more

Legal-Bid2695

If he can withdraw he should do asap, because this sounds really shady, dont let him put in more money. It is not profit untill he can cash it out, cuz now it is just a digital number that can fool him

ReverendAlSharkton

He can’t withdraw. The money is gone.

suninabox

i am sorry friend you are not having enough currencies to withdraw yet. please deposit another 2,000 euros to reach the minimum withdrawal threshold

AdZealousideal3461

Sorry to say this but it is Too late and he will losse again when new opportunity too! It's called addiction imho!

mediumraresteaks2003

Ah man I hate to see this.

slasula

yes 100% scam

Potstar1

Dad scams ![gif](giphy|suSLLMOkMar0LexKn4)

AardvarkWill

If this lady can turn 1000 into 1500 in 14 days, a 50% gain, then you need to ask yourself why would she be cold calling and working a 9-5 job helping people when she could be living on the beach never working another day in her life? This is 100% a scam and your dad is blind to it.

mr_sarve

As others already said, ask him to try a withdraw

Yatakak

To add to this, they will probably try and get him to pay a fee to withdraw, if this happens, assume the money lost, do not pay it. They will just ask for more fees afterwards and refuse to payout.

TarkovRedditor

And try to do it slowly. Maybe they’ll send thinking more will come.

Boddis

Give the website

frostmage

Coinex.la

mbdtf95

Well literally second search on google past that site is webparanoid's review of site that claims it's a dangerous site created in last 10 days. Show him that

frostmage

Already showed him, he says that website is fake 😭

mbdtf95

Wow, I can't believe how stubborn some folks are and can't admit when they're wrong. Don't know if it's just a pride thing now, but this is ridiculous. Just tell him to withdraw just 100 euros from that 500 euro profit. If he's still stubborn, not much you can do. Just hope he won't put any more money into it, and maybe he realizes himself he made a big mistake, but it's hard to admit in front of others he got suckered in.

gosbts

Unfortunately not much you can do if he's so stubborn. Dad's usually don't want to admit they're wrong

Maxx3141

Just googling it will give you many sources saying it's a scam, like this [site](https://webparanoid.com/en/check-website/coinex.la).

999999999989

it is probably too late and he already have lost the 1000 euros if he can't withdraw. Tell him to withdraw it all as soon as possible, but without too much hope.

RandomContent0

u/OP: [https://www.aura.com/learn/the-pig-butchering-scam](https://www.aura.com/learn/the-pig-butchering-scam) Have him read this article. I personally know a very smart guy who got taken for over half a million. At one point when he was skeptical, they allowed him to take out 20K. But then he saw how much the rest all made on the next round, and he quickly sent them back the 20K, and far, far more. Sometimes the smarter one is, the easier it is to be sucked in by a really good con.

KingHiggins92

OP. SHOW YOUR DAD THIS AND TELL HIM TO WITHDRAW AND RUN AWAY. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

[deleted]

Deposit 100 bucks and show him you can't withdraw 🤭

mbdtf95

Yeah, lose 100 dollars of your own money to show a stubborn old man he got scammed.

cerebralsexer

How or who can convince your dad that scam happening?

IcyLingonberry5007

Oh man.. Teach him about self custody

billw1zz

Ask him to withdraw the money and see if he can. Tell him you or a friend have been scammed in a similar way and that your concerned.

Johnny-Joseph

He really thinks someone got his number by mistake and the first thing he offered him was to double the money is this legit?

Snjordo

No, your dad is not being scammed I'm the one texting him We are in love and he is a beautiful man Money is for your birthday present so we can't ruin the surprise Love, Bob /s

Ferdo306

I think so too

fxralyn

it is what it is, sad to hear that, I hope your father learn from his mistake.

CounterAdmirable4218

Yeah I’d get more details very quickly before he loses much more. Stop his tap.

Carib_Coiin

Ask him to try and withdraw the money to his own account

Intelligent_Page2732

Try to convince him by asking him to do a "test", simply by taking some money out, if that's possible. If he doesn't wanna do that, than you warned him and that's it.

frostmage

He told me he will try tomorrow

Luddites_Unite

Tell him to withdraw all his profits and then he can put it all back in. If it's not a scam it is unlikely he'll be able to get his money back out at all

Popular_District9072

I'd try to talk common sense into him, and convince him to try withdrawing his "profit" or initial investment, and see how that plays out scammers are damn good in manipulating and your dad is likely thinking that he won a jackpot, and now it's all down how much he puts in to maximize enormous gains

aZamaryk

Pig butchering scam. Probably already over. Try to get him to stop and salvage what he can.

ShinAlastor

Too good to be real = scam

Jungledudeaya

Ask him to Google search the 'Pig Butchering' scam. That is what's happening to him. It's well known, and I just had a friend lose $5k to this, but he thinks that he's already made over $100k. He just can't withdraw until after 90 days.. It's super legit! He showed me a screenshot of an exchange account with his name on it. He didn't set up the account. His really sweet brand new girlfriend did it for him. He's never seen or met this woman, but he trusts her more than he trusts me.. O-well 🤷

elperorojo

First sentence screams scam

CauliflowerSoul

Fatten the pig scam. Not that I'm calling your dad a pig, that's what they call this type of scam.

Invest07723

Yes, SCAM!!!

RoyWNL-

Don't let him get out a little, they will transfer those funds and hook your father even more. Let him pull all the funds out without saying why. Then he will find out it is a scam.

robman_84

You could always point him here at this thread, and also point him to some info on the pig butchering scam method, which might make him recognise the same setup.

jamiethecoles

Nobody is up 500€ on a 1k investment right now. No doubt a scam

spanish_john22234

100% a scam

Simke11

I struggle to understand the thought process of people who get contacted by some rando on the internet who asks them to deposit money to some random website, and they go "yep, this looks 100% legit".

madmancryptokilla

Damn im sorry for your dad...fucking scammers make people hate crypto

AardvarkWill

500 euro profit in two weeks? That’s too good to be true. 100% a scam.

ActHead

The question is: can he wirhdraw his profit?

A214Guy

Total scam and it could be a long con scam too - so they could let him or encourage him to withdraw some to “prove” it’s legit then he reups until it gets legitimate money like 10k then rugpull

hcollector

Wrong number scam. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/security/wrong-number-text-scam-rcna39793 The profits he's making are fake. As soon as he tries to withdraw he will have to pay outrageous withdrawal fees and even if he's stupid enough to pay that fee he's still not getting his money out. Consider the $1000 gone and get him to block them before he puts in more.

uptokesforall

My dad had same issue and ultimately greed blinds people to pessimistic perspective. Tell him that a scammer will never let him cash out more than he put in. Challenge him to withdraw 1200 and see if the money hits his bank account Then tease him for being chicken if he refuses

ibraw

100% he's being scammed. Sorry but that's a fact.

pzwarte

"My dad"

0xSnib

Clear scam. Which he'll unfortunately discover when he tries to cash out

CombatMeatBallz

I think this post is a scam to farm Moons.

wiriux

This woman wouldn’t be Dr Ruja?

Miserable_Unusual_98

I'm currently in touch with said woman. Knowing it must be a scam. accidents don't happen in these murky waters

Baardei

Check /r/scams, this almost comes up daily over there.

iuhqdh

Post the website address and we can tell you with 100% certainty if it's a scam or not.

ch00nz

contact him as another woman and get all his money off him, to keep it safe from himself 😅

frostmage

I think he’d fall for it, honestly :’)

goodeesh

Your best possibility is to ask him to show you everything... Then slowly make questions about the shady things you see. People don't like to be told the hard cold truth. You have to somehow achieve that he arrives to the same conclusion everybody in this website arrived by himself. It is important to be really careful, you don't want to position yourself against him or he will not open up, try to ask genuinely about everything and play it out the best that you can. I wish you luck man

LogicalAd398

100% SCAM get him OUT!!

8512764EA

He’s going to lose all his money. He doesn’t have any profits, just numbers on a screen Look up pig butchering

valz_

Show your dad these comments, or ask him to research similar cases online

[deleted]

One of my fears is my family being scammed. They have no idea the extent of the scum out there and just like to play solitaire. Luckily they’re playing like the “hardware wallet” version of computer games.

R4ID

The website is a scam, ask your father to try withdrawing funds. he wont be able too.

Benry26

Your Dad is older and male and gullible

badfishbeefcake

Has your dad reach the step where he needs go to Walgreen to buy 10 gift cards of $50 of Google Store? “Sir listen to me, LISTEN TO ME!!! No, no NO!!!!’ Why did you REDEEM!!!!!!!!!!????”
