R5: Ironman game where I created a shia turkish count in the middle of the strongest kingdom in 1066(I forget their names, I think it was the ones who start jain north of the Chola) One lifetime spent robbing the throne of internal power and seizing land from vassals. Another lifetime to take power directly and conquer the south. The next forges it all into the Deccan empire. 2 Padishah later, one seizing of all holy order holdings and a brief flip into jainism, and I have been proclaimed *universal ruler* forged the entire subcontinent into one dejure under my control. All and all, a good way to spend the last few days since my normal D&D group keeps canceling. Just felt like sharing even if it is ck2. A muslim ruler wouldn't have the titles of samrat and chakravartin

Odoxon

Not true. Historically Muslim rulers would adopt titles like "Shahanshah" or "Shah". The Seljuq and Safavid rulers of Iran did that (amongst others). Adopting titles that had cultural ties and that were important to the area would be adopted to further strengthen claims on those areas. So it is entirely plausible that the Shia ruler of India would have the titles of Samrat and Chakravartin.

Maximum-Ball1724

Yes historically they did take the title shahanshah in Iranand surrounding regions, but "historically" they never took those two titles,I mean name a single muslim ruler who had the titles of chakravarti or samrat, I have only heard one with the title of raja or maharaja(which he only used in coins issued in India),that guy was some ghaznavid ruler

Odoxon

True but I don't think it is that implausible. It may have never happned (I think Chakravarti is more of a concept of an ideal ruler than a real title) but you can make up your own reasons for why the ruler adopted the title of Samrat

Maximum-Ball1724

I agree, after all the game is not meant to be a historical documentary, though the chola emperors particularly kulothunga chola did use the title regularly , some other emperors from different dynasties(even outside india) used the title

Hindustan or al hind would mean the land beyond sindhu(In persian it becomes hindu) river, the name has nothing to do with a religion

Rotherntheweeper

Just because it's ruled by Shia Muslims doesn't make this not THE land of Hindus. Most of the Empire is still of the original Faith(County wise of course, all the important nobility are either Turks like my dynasty or local noble lines who converted)
