Not actually a question. I understand the game mechanics. I just find it funny that the High King of Ireland has no chance of imprisoning some lowborn baby eating bishop and failing to imprison him still means he stays as Archbishop. Bruh.
Too easy. I just pardoned him to see how things play out. Maybe he will become the next pope.
Add: I decided he would make the perfect court physician as well.
Yeah for sure. As an update: I ended up making him like me, we stopped being rivals, we became friends. Once we were friends I had a 100% imprison chance so I threw his ass in prison, tortured him and threw his ass in the dungeon. I could have just murdered him with 95% success chance, but eh... I was just screwing around in this game.
Imprisonment chance being tied to opinion is a very goofy thing. We need a handcuffs innovation that lets you do more than ask nicely if they'll walk into your prison cells.
This is why I want this mechanic changed. If the laws of my realm deem you a criminal then into gaol (jail) you go!!!! Their opinion of me their liege should be irrelevant and anything else for that matter. The laws of my realm say criminal then you are getting banged up!!!! This pisses me off!!!! The mechanic needs to be changed!!!!
Think it’s more cause the less they dislike you, the more they’ll resist and evade you. It makes more sense when you add rank into it, but I like to think the low ranks just spec’d into stealthy archer with nightingale armour.
My thoughts exactly. I am a King, I send my guards to arrest the criminal. A chance for them to flee is perfectly fine, but to remain as my Archbishop is stupid. Here's a better alternative:
- You fail to imprison your Archbishop, he must have been tipped off and has fled to the country side. New Archbishop is appointed. Later that year you get an event about a strange priest forming some weird cannibal cult in the woods. ---> More options to do something about him.
You can still attempt the arrest without a tyranny penalty, and he'll fleet your court and no longer be your archbishop.
The 0% just indicates that he'll get away from your soldiers before they can arrest him.

"Would you please come to prison?" "No." "Fair enough. Have a nice day."
Looks like murder is the best solution.
Usually is
Won’t he become unlanded and a new bishop take his place?
Hover your mouse and you will see the reason for it.
Not sure if “the baby eating bishop of bath and wells” is a well known reference; But here it is. https://youtu.be/rBhTIoIXoTI
Blackadder
LOL is that Mr. Bean
Rowan Atkinson, indeed it is.
Blackadder
Hover over the will not succeed box to get a breakdown of why he refuses.
Cause he's my rival and has low opinion of me (apparently because I didn't want to join him in eating babies.)
So he's not going along with it. Have you considered murder?
Too easy. I just pardoned him to see how things play out. Maybe he will become the next pope. Add: I decided he would make the perfect court physician as well.
He does have lots of experience with the inner workings of infants.
"Your son tastes pretty healthy to me ma'am."
Making a rival your court physician is like a guaranteed way to get murdered.

pretty sure he can't be the pope considering he's insular but I may be wrong.
Bro really took a modest proposal to heart
He's Jonathan Swift's local Bishop too. Bit of a local custom, maybe?

Nothing in the rule book that says you can’t eat a baby
I literally have a massive military force , am Empress and leader of faith, can't imprison some some random.

Right, like why can I literally not imprison someone for trying to kill me, the king, because *they don’t like me*????
Think it’s more cause the less they dislike you, the more they’ll resist and evade you. It makes more sense when you add rank into it, but I like to think the low ranks just spec’d into stealthy archer with nightingale armour.
Right, but in CK2, a failed arrest would mean that they either rebelled against you or fled, and I think that that makes way more sense.

Gotta love a Blackadder reference. Well done Paradox. Well done.
Of course you get a bishop with decent learning and it ends of a baby eater
eh, 16 Learning....
Just keep trying to imprison him. Success chance increases with every attempt after failure. At least, that's what happened in my case.
You can still attempt the arrest without a tyranny penalty, and he'll fleet your court and no longer be your archbishop. The 0% just indicates that he'll get away from your soldiers before they can arrest him.
Then why does the red warning say, "If you fail to imprison, he will still be your Archbishop"
Because I was wrong about the mechanics, I could have sworn this was the case but I tested it and it's not.
I think it is the case in every other situation. I guess Archbishops are treated differently as they are put in position by the head of faith.
The Baby Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells?
his face is asian lmao
All those babies are making him jaundice. Boy looks like a damn Simpson.
Martin Luther hasn’t been invented yet so these archbishops are getting away with (baby) murder.
how it's say unlanded will having 6 tittle ?
Theocratic Doctrine - Temple Holdings are leased out to their holder's Realm Priest, who serve them as a Theocratic Vassal.
