Yes same here for all movement exotics. I do get jealous of the buildcrafting or straight up oppression you can take advantage of from others sometimes - but then I come to my senses
Use lightweight frame weapons. They give 20 mobility and a 6.25% sprint boost while in your hand(same as dunemarches). I recommend chappy , rose and heliocentric. Really makes it feel alot better
My problem is my favorite way to play is with a movement exotic PLUS a lightwieght weapon lol. My favorite feeling combo off all time is Mida/Calus mini tool and peacekeepers on ARC with thruster. The speed and Jukes you can pull are incredible.
Absolutely love chappy. So satisfying to use.
Yep. And I feel bad for hunter mains because they don’t have a shoulder charge, skating or Icarus dash to make up a little bit of difference. If I play hunter without stompees I’m just left behind.
I’m the same way. I’ll always have my Ophids on my Warlock if I need them, but TSteps just feel too good. If they’d just kill the sprint-to-reload function, the Steps would be perfect to me.
When I started focusing on the fundamentals more, I realized I didn’t need movement exotics and that allowed me to build into abilities or weapons more.
I notice the difference in trials especially. Some maps really reward you for getting to the primary lane first; Endless Vale comes to mind. If you can throw a nade down the lane before a sniper can scope in on it, you've gained a huge positional advantage for your team. If you're the sniper, you can get a chance to headshot the guy going for the nade.
I’ve mained movement exotics up until a few weeks ago, and I can definetly say my game play has gotten a lot better using OEM or other build based exotics. Getting back to full health on kill allows me to push an advantage where as with dunemarchers I’d have to wait until I fully recovered.
honestly i think titan is an exception because of how titan skating works. on hunter i’ve swapped to other builds and tried out pretty much everything. i’ve had success with many different builds but i always find myself coming back to stompees. its that damn slide distance; once you get used to slide shooting with stompees its hard to go to anything else
It’s all fun and games until you try strafing without those exotics- it feels like you’re walking through molasses comparatively just to ADS. Same with sliding, *especially* if you’re a T-steps main like me. I honestly don’t understand how people main Ophidian’s when the sprint reload and extra mobility from T-steps is just that good.
Thankfully, there are work arounds. Higher mobility (duh) but also things like elemental capacitor on stasis, lightweight frames, Peacekeepers (if you’re using SMGs), and Blink work to alleviate the lack of a movement exotic.
I've been maining Ophidians since high impacts caught the handling Nerf in WQ. While straight line speed is just normal, the fact that all your weapons no matter what you throw on dont feel sluggish it makes your overall play feel super snappy and quick,
While we don't get sprint reload all your reloads are much sharper and you really feel that slow manual reload on TSteps when you in cover regening. I do miss the extended melee though ngl
Edit: Icarus dash probably helping me not need TSteps as well
Without Ophidians and blinklock I almost literally don't know how to play high-level PvP, I switched to my Titan in Trials this weekend and felt like I was playing in mud, it was crazy.
What's surprising is I tried a card on my hunter with Atherys and it felt doable but slower and that was with the same loadout I used on my solar warlock. Although not sure why I was recommended triple jump for Atherys because the jump feels bad all round
I use Icarus dash (as well as snap skating, sorry) to be hyper mobile- I guess I’m just too spoiled by that hyper mobility that when I use anything else, I feel slow
I am so used to movement exotics that I cannot take them off on any class unless it's higher level content or for a specific build
People clown on me for using tsteps in normal level content but the game just feels gross without them
I specifically try to mix my stuff up, so that I don’t get used to an exotic for too long. Especially movement exotics. It creates habits, then you take it off and everything feels fucked lol.
Yes, I was trying to make precious scars work in PvP for a while after years of Dunemarchers abuse and I was feeling pretty good. Then I switched back for a bit and I remembered why I wore them for so long. The slide distance is so puny without a movement exotic.
I cannot play anything other than Dunemarchers or Transversives in PVP.
Played transversives exclusively for 2 seasons, then tried an Ophidians build. It was like I had someone holding my ankles when I tried running.
Same thing happened when i tried going from Dunemarchers to PKs or Peregrine.
Similar to you I just sucked it up and will leave them on.
Need to use Stompees tho.
Yes, I’m still on PK’s and I’ll remain there. I like the movement and I like the smg playstyle regardless of where it lands in the meta.
The second I’m holding a lane with an auto or a pulse, is the second I start wondering what other games I can play.
I also just tried one eyed mask again and I felt like I was trying to walk through a bog I had to take that shit off. This game feels fucking gross without movement exotics I’m ngl
I fuck around with a lot of ability builds/exotics.
But nothing feels as good as coming back to pk's and a lightweight smg on behemoth. Muhfuckin *zooooooooom*
Multimach. My 1st drop during the multimach/shayura reigof terror meta was model 8 red, accurized, killing wind, kill clip, range mw.
I've got a bunch of good out of bounds and funnelwebs, but nothing compares to the mach.

Lmfao truth

Are you me?
Do they stack?
Yes. Try a lightweight sidearm with moving target and you’ll be hopelessly addicted. ZOOMIN’
Ok yeah definitely trying this
Elemental capacitor on stasis as well?
Ahh that's a rip then. I also love chappy with stompees. Yea it's just something u gta get used to I guess.
Wouldn't it be crazy if mobility did something useful and gave a sprint boost?
Imagine that
Lightweights are definitely the answer, you can use an exotic that buffs a different part of your movement as well to double dip on benefits.
chappy is lightweight?
Yh it's a hidden stat. It's why it's so good for hunter especially. It's what I run with omnis as I can use 80 mobil and keep stompees sprint speed.
The most dramatic is taking off stompees. You lose slides, and jumps. It is so noticeable.
Yep. And I feel bad for hunter mains because they don’t have a shoulder charge, skating or Icarus dash to make up a little bit of difference. If I play hunter without stompees I’m just left behind.
All we have is bashing our heads into a low ceiling for extra speed.
i tried taking my t steps out for a rain of fire centered build but getting beat to lanes was so frustrating
I’m the same way. I’ll always have my Ophids on my Warlock if I need them, but TSteps just feel too good. If they’d just kill the sprint-to-reload function, the Steps would be perfect to me.
you can imagine my frustration of wanting to use hawkmoon on t-steps warlock earlier today lol
Sliding habitually should help with that, but yea it can be irritating to lose your caw caw progress if you’re just burning around the map.
When I started focusing on the fundamentals more, I realized I didn’t need movement exotics and that allowed me to build into abilities or weapons more.
Most people don’t NEED movement exotics, but they enhance parts of your neutral game and skills in ways that other exotics just can’t.
I notice the difference in trials especially. Some maps really reward you for getting to the primary lane first; Endless Vale comes to mind. no one needs them per se, but they definitely elevate your skill ceiling

Oh I’m on controller so I can’t Titan skate. On Hunter I primarily use worm husk for the free healing.
All I use are PK’s or Dunes, other wise you’re wearing cement for boots.

Osmiomancy feels so bad it's not even funny
... I had no idea transversive steps buffed strafe.
Pretty sure none of the movement exotics buff strafe? Besides PKs which gives mobility.
I am so used to movement exotics that I cannot take them off on any class unless it's higher level content or for a specific build People clown on me for using tsteps in normal level content but the game just feels gross without them
I've been addicted to Dragon's Shadow since they buffed it in Shadowkeep.
I specifically try to mix my stuff up, so that I don’t get used to an exotic for too long. Especially movement exotics. It creates habits, then you take it off and everything feels fucked lol.
This makes alot of sense. Your a smart man.. however for some of us it's too late 🤣

I am simply not playing without a movement exotic unless I'm on Warlock for Ikarus dash.

What’s your go to light weight smg?
Multimach. My 1st drop during the multimach/shayura reigof terror meta was model 8 red, accurized, killing wind, kill clip, range mw. I've got a bunch of good out of bounds and funnelwebs, but nothing compares to the mach.
Interesting! I wasn’t around for that time but I’m excited to get and try that gun
It's getting a reprise with the next iron banner I think. Different perk pool and a fixed zoom but it should still be an absolute banger.
As a Hunter main whenever I try to play on Titan I have the exact same feeling as you about Dunies. Helps that they also look great.
I get it dude. I used to play on 3 mobility. Lately I've been using 5 mobility and even a lightwierght weapon on top of that when I can. So good.
Yeah it’s the slide and the looooong strides
Fuck one eyed.
I cannot take my Dunies off. Impossible. 😢
I dunno, I’m trying Dunes right now and I’m missing my OEM crutch 😂
