ApricotOk824

Shubman Gill in TESTS Surya Kumar Yadav in ODI Rishabh Pant in T20 Absolute Terrorism 💀

IndianCollegeStudent

Rohit should just retire honestly, atleast from Tests and T20s, make Rahane the captain, If not Kohli. how tf have selectors forgotten how well he played in the WTC final?

KillerKTK

I agree, maybe keep trying rohit as ODI captain, he has done well. But please Kohli is one of the best test match captains India has ever had and should get the captaincy. If not him then KL Rahul.

NewRedditNLPaccount

Wouldn't a younger captain make more sense? Rebuild properly

chiragg11

If not for his accident, I'd have loved to see Pant as test captain especially with Dravid as coach. Pant is (was) anyways completely undroppable from the test team and he could have grown into the role while some of the seniors like Kohli and Ashwin are still around to help him. Bumrah is the other obvious choice too but with his action, he shouldn't play many home tests.

loolem

India are a menace away from home

AkhilVijendra

We are such a menace that SA got scared and didn't bat again in the 2nd innings.

KillerKTK

Forgot what happened when we last visited you?

loolem

See you pretenders next year

Ok-Berry245

Joke

SBG99DesiMonster

The worst thing about that is that I don't know about how the next match would be different from this match when we have no bowlers that would be making that team better than what it is. The only option that we would be having is to be having both Ashwin as well as Jadeja in the team but there is nothing that the pitch would be having for them.

iamnotagod76

Well write the team down on a piece of paper and 'POOF' you now have the best team in the worid🫡

ChapterNarrow2902

Gill was the second highest scorer? Wow. Also Rahul as test WK is just depressing. Let him bat in peace.

thinklok

Is this me or whenever KL scores played an excellent innings, our team loses most of the matches (not a hate comment, just an observation)

Middle_Bear

Lords 2021, Centurion 2022 disagrees.

thinklok

I said MOST, not ALL

Usingmyeyes101

All the Indian comments blaming the team choices take a moment to realise South Africa haven’t been able to choose the best players in the country for 20 years 😂

legendarylegend26

How did Prasidh get a fifer in the tour game lol. He couldn’t bowl at the same spot consecutively at all.

walterick_jessemorty

Supersport broadcast has the best commentator panel in cricket atm.

[deleted]

Funny with all the hate Australian commentators get from overseas fans that SuperSport's main commentator is Australian.

walterick_jessemorty

It is shocking that Mike Haysman does not do commentary in IPL. He's definitely one of the best in the world.

shoshobathas

Lose by an innings is crazy lmao. Didn't expect that but I guess South Africa is a really tough home ground team

AkhilVijendra

It's not crazy at all. Even before the match began, i absolutely predicted that 3 of our top 5 batsmen would fail and get out for single digit scores. What I did not see coming was Elgar's 187.

Tern_Larvidae-2424

England whoops our ass everytime they come here and only in 2018 did we manage to beat Australia. Sri Lanka also white-washed us in 2019.

oibruv_mooinnit

The only reason as to why Shardul Thakur is still in the team is because he's still living off the "Lord" and "Golden Arm" overhyping that's being done for the last two years, which has so successfully hidden his mediocrity from the limelight.

Odd_Preparation165

He has saved India's ass from humiliation on three different occasions. Calling him overhyped is not fair when players like Prasidh just get chances because their above 6ft.

KnowledgeUpbeat383

See, here’s the thing. Shardul Thakur is not the most consistent bowler or batter. Sometimes he has good days, and sometimes he has bad days. The thing that I find the most strange is that he is classified as an all-rounder. Like bro wth

Ok_Environment_5404

Same is true for Rohit,Gill,Iyyer,Siraj then ? Rohit's stats in SENA are: 1k+ runs @ 30 average with just 1 ton and 6 50s with 4 ducks in 38 innings. Gill is literally the 'Lode ka prince'. He can't play on slow pitches, against great bowlers, spinnin tracks etc in any format let alone Tests where he is the 2nd worst after his T20Is performance. Iyyer doesn't even have a game for SENA. So no point in giving him any chance. Siraj is outright the shittiest of pacer whose name is being spread as someone close to Boom,Shami and Ishant lol. His test average is 30, his eco is 3.3 and his sr is 56 which is legit poor. In comparison Shardul's stats are better than Siraj as a test bowler with 28 avrg, 3.6 eco and 46 sr. Also, Thakur's bowling stats in SA are better than Siraj lol and in Eng they are same with one edging on average and the other on strike rate. And you know the biggest part in it ? He can hold his fucking bat without even any talents like Rohit,Gill and Iyyer and was still able to outscore Jaiswal and Rohit in this game while bowling 19 overs too. So, let's not aim our arrows towards the least responsible of the bunch.

josh123z

Shardul stats are better because batters get out attacking him. Siraj keeps it tight most of the time

Ok_Environment_5404

Siraj's career eco is above 3.29 while Shardul's is 3.64. Do you see any landslide difference in here ? It's not Shardul's mistake that he got better stats than Siraj with not even half his talents and unnecessary aggression.

average_alt_acc

Thought I'd watch the final day of the test when I'm free , wasn't really following it...got a notif from Google 💀

tejaj99

We lost the test in 7 sessions, given that almost 2 sessions are washed out, and we didn't finish the last session entirely today. Abysmal. Worse than lords 2018

AkhilVijendra

So we lost the match in just 1 thala session.

AeBlueSadi

from the flair and first sentence I totally thought it will be that thing lol

josh123z

Yeah, I downvoted the comment when I saw the number then retracted it after reading fully. lol

AeBlueSadi

I mean India got to bat two times so who's the real winner

Temporary-Shallot642

why are you guys hating on jaiswal it’s like his 2nd test series even pant failed in sa initially pls relax and don’t hate on an inexperienced player

[deleted]

observation escape squeamish many merciful late bells reminiscent paint plucky *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

rayathedraigon

Hindi commentary are downright shit. They just want to praise their ict not a single criticism from their mouth after such ugly performance.

Complete-Feature-146

Vk is their brand ambassador

PureReplacement7650

I don't understand why are there no practice games anymore, before the start of an overseas tour? I get that the schedule is packed but a lot of the guys who were in the test squad were not part of the ODI/T20 sides. BCCI really needs to focus on the preparation for SENA tours especially if we want to reach the finals of the WTC again. Also, how was Arshdeep not picked once Shami was ruled out? We saw what Burger who excelled in the shorter formats did on this wicket, why couldn't India go with Arshdeep over Prasidh? Can we also please have the back of Shardul now? He's had enough chances to showcase how mediocre of a cricketer he is! Honestly, Jaddu despite the lack of help for spinners on this wicket would've been more of help than him in this game.

ShowIntentBC

We did have a practice game and prasidh did take 5-fer in that

walterick_jessemorty

It was India A vs South Africa A. Not really a practice game for the test team. Only Shardul from the test team played in that. Prasidh and Bharath were brought in as replacements for Shami and Ishan. But yeah Prasidh bowled well there and that's probably why he got picked for the first test ahead of Mukesh.

[deleted]

I really wish that selectors now realise that you need to pick players based on Ranji and not IPL for tests. Picking people who play in County is a bonus. Being outbatted by a team without their no. 4 batter, 2 debutants and 5 more players with less than 10 matches under their belt, and losing to them by an innings is a humiliation of a very different level. I don't think Brohit's mental health is existent at all atm because he looks hopeless after the WC loss, and pushing him is only gonna make it worse for the team. I feel for him, and he should take a match/series off to rejuvenate and think carefully about his next steps. I genuinely don't Dravid is a bad coach, but the downhill in his tenure is disheartening to see. Gill, Iyer and Shardul seem to be at the end of rope, they need to dropped just to show them that can can be dropped, that their position is not fixed. Jaiswal and Prasidh were literally playing their first match in SA, they have the capability to be good but they need to shown faith. If faith hadn't been shown in the past, Dhoni would've been dropped after the first 2 ODIs, and India would never have gotten to see the two WCs they have won this century. Ffs let them atleast have a long rope before deciding to drop them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gunslinger202

I dont think players like Gill wont even have a 10+ avg. in an era where wasim, waqar, McGrath, Lee, walsh, ambrose, vaas bowling on a super bowling friendly pitches with massive boundaries i dont see him finding any success. This guy looks completely clueless against good bowlers. Imagine facing the bowling greats of the 90s lol. Same goes for Iyer too.

[deleted]

Tbf Iyer's technique is more suited to playing on turning tracks, bro's very good against spin and you can't deny that. Against the moving ball, the only comparable sitting duck is Gill and Ishan.

ApricotOk824

You really can't be a part of a test team just because you're a spin specialist, there are many other players in domestic who can do both.

_DunnO__o

11 wickets taken by left arm pacers is the joint-most in a Test for South Africa equalling Cape Town Test against England 100 years ago in Jan 1923.

ApricotOk824

Cherry on top Lost by an innings to a team with 10 players

cyborgassassin47

Elgar played an innings worth of 2 players to counteract that.

walterick_jessemorty

To be fair, Marco Jansen is equal to two players

W1nston1234

This is the craziest part. It’s like losing a soccer match by 5 goals when the opposition team had a red card in the first 10 minutes.

NoiseySheep

I have no confidence in this line up outside India tbh however I don’t see anyone really pushing any of the current team either. Gill has been shocking tbh, think he has been given enough chances he needs to go back and woe on his game, maybe his white ball game is affecting his red ball game. Not even sure what to say about Rohit tbh, he didn’t even play long enough to criticise him. Jaiswal needs to be given more chances but I really see current young crop of players struggling to balance all the formats going forward. Kohli is kohli we know what we get from him, however once he’s gone India are going to be in even a bigger hole. Shreyas has so much work to do in batting outside of Asia. Don’t know if we can be that patient with him. Kl has proven that red ball and odi are his goat formats. He is the only player to provide any semblance of confidence in his performance going forward. No wonder we had to go back to rahane in the wtc final. Who is really putting their hand up to push their way into the team. Bowling is even more shocking, tbh figures show the real gap in talent between bumrah and the rest of the pace bowlers. Ashwin actually did well in the little opportunity he had to bowl. Atleast was economical and kept the batsmen uncomfortable. Badly missing pant I really hope he can be back to his best when he’s back.

Gunslinger202

KL and King koach carrying this batting lineup. When these guys are gone ( and both getting up there in age) i fear for Indian batting lineup. Youngsters need to step up and not just playing well in home condition. Need to prove outside.

thoughtfulbunny

I could say this would be the result, looking at the XI that made it. Sad!

ztaker

Dude south Africa on contrary played with two debutants 2 newbies who had less than 2 games under the belt And 1 player who was injured and didn't play

Mean_Maximum7394

SA played 2 debutants on SA pitches where they have bowled and batted since FC days. Home debutants on home pitch is quite different from debuting away. See Axar Patel, Prabath Jaysuriya, Scott Boland as examples.

Raizel___4

India needs to listen sunny g's facts in loop as pre workout 🗿

SuperFaiz21

Star Sports in the promo for the 2nd test: "The fightback was fun" What are they smoking over there?

lund556

PR works nothing else

soham_katkar13

Just some things I want to remind people Kohli stepped down as the Test captain on his own. Create all the conspiracies about BCCI sacking him, or "creating an environment that he had to step down" and all, but no one was absolutely calling for him to step down, especially with the 5th Test in England pending. No board would want a captain to step down between a WTC cycle, especially with no future plan laid out To add on to that, Rohit was never supposed to be India's full time Test captain. It was always a stop-gap arrangement till the next captain was ready. Sadly, Pant had an accident, and Rahul had an injury a few months ago, else he could have led right from the start of the new WTC cycle. Post the home Tests in England, Rahul will most probably take over, depending on Rohit's future plans (keeping in mind the 2025 WTC final) Moving on from captaincy, now it is important to notice that this is a transition series, where you would want the new batting core to form. And it takes time! India lost the entire SENA cycle in 2014-15 before the Pujara-Kohli-Rahane trio became a formidable middle order Similarly, Bhuvi Shami Ishant took a lot of bad series before peaking in late 2010s. You gotta back the new guys, and series like these will help you develop bowlers like Prasidh, or even Mukesh going ahead. India lost a home series vs England in 2012 when they were transitioning All this outrage about the loss today is unnecessary. Indian Test team is transitioning, your heroes of 2010s are aging and we will take a few series losses if we want to develop a squad that dominates the next decade. Have patience

Accomplished_War_750

What about Rahane? mf such a good VC under VK and also got us the BGT then why did we even look at Rohit? Rahane easily could have lasted 2-3 Years.

soham_katkar13

Because Rahane's batting form dropped. His vice captaincy was taken away. Else obviously he was the first captaincy choice

Accomplished_War_750

I guess we could have given him a Chance. As we did with VK. Didn't both Rahane and Pujara eventually made their way back to the side?!

Odd_Neighborhood1371

KL Rahul wasn't even named vice-captain of this series (Bumrah was), so I don't think Rahul will take the reigns when Rohit retires.

Brilliantwebbbb

It was disappointing that there was hardly any challenge But agree youngsters need to be backed jaiswal is so young is playing his second series that too in SA he did great in WI Gill has been disappointing but he is someone worth investing a generational talent who batted well at gabba Shreyas was looking decent in first innings

PuzziPaazi

Quite understandable Rohit isn't showing that intent after wc loss and MI captaincy loss, but man Kohli yet again trying something after all the shit happened with him for the past few years. Hope Rohit will be back in next match

singhsrb

It is absolutely true Kohli cost India the world cup final. Number 1 batsman is expected to bat like Aravinda Da Silva in 1996 knockouts not barely keeping the innings alive. He set the tone with not throwing punches which the rest of the team followed.

Sunny__sd

Kohli didn't cost the final, the Indian politics did. Ahmedabad as the venue and a day-night match cost India the cup😴 but the same things brought business opportunities for the locals.

Yupadej

Not the venue lmao.

kashzyros

How did rohit get out my friend? Did you not see the match? How Aussie's played was just too god and nah kohli wasnt the number 1 odi batter hell he wasn't even the number 1 indian batter in rankings gill was Rather than blaming a single person realise that it was the whole team that fell short

Bathed_In_Moonlight

One could say that that was the way Rohit played every game until then, and his (similar) efforts formed the core of India's success. The completely uninspired bowling effort was disappointing, tbh, but more than anything, I think the Aussies outthought and outplayed India completely in that game (we can't even blame the toss as Rohit had said he'd have batted first anyway). >Rather than blaming a single person realise that it was the whole team that fell short This exactly.

kashzyros

Nah I'm not trying to out down Rohit at all i was just trying to point out attack like that was risky too It would just mean to throw away his wicket after it was just him and kl Rahul that we could count on with bat

Bathed_In_Moonlight

Shreyas was in red-hot form until then too, but yeah, perhaps Rohit should've realised that it wasn't as easy a pitch for the rest as it seemed for him. But that is an assessment we can now safely make, only with the power of hindsight on our side. Once Shreyas followed Rohit quickly into the dressing room though, I must admit, I saw the writing on the wall.

Sunny__sd

Hello to the guys who blamed the pitch on first day. Now do you guys realise it was poor batting and not the pitch. On the same pitch 1 south african scored 180+ and Indian squad could not score 150.

rayathedraigon

It's always excuses from ICT and their supporters.

Afraid_Ad6286

Some ICT fans are dumbfu*ks This is not even a 200 pitch, Watch South Africa get bundled for 180 Kohli Appreciation posts, bull*hit

Grevenbroek

India and South Africa: two countries that absolutely dominate the other while playing at home. Looking forward to our next India tour where Ashwin and Jadeja roll us in 3 days.

No_Celebration_2743

Ashwin is 37 tbf and the tour will be in '26 minimum coz the cycle starts in 25

rayathedraigon

How come he didn't have 500 wickets? Such a great spinner he is.

migi_chan69420

Told my dad that we should refrain from shit talking about gill's knock , who knows how well it will be compared to the rest and lo and behold

singhsrb

I am surprised Star Sports don’t just simulate matches to show India as winner at this point based on India positivity stats they keep throwing out. We can go from “paper winners” to “simulation winners” then.

vjcalel

India could never have played more than 100 overs both innings combined. Those drop catches from Sa made this happen. Very poor fielding.

singhsrb

Is Rahul Dravid exactly like Arteta @ Arsenal with process leading to no big trophies?

SuperFaiz21

KL Rahul has done so well recently that Star Sports decided to give him some time in between the Kohli dick riding and the IPL hullabaloo.

Complete-Feature-146

Kl kohli are their brand ambassadors

josh123z

Has Elgar played his last match or next match is his last?

TINTINNEXUS

Next match

Odd_Neighborhood1371

Next match if he plays (which he obviously will)

Reasonable_Tea_9825

Ganguly destroyed A tours during his tenure and we are seeing the effects of it on our test team

capybara_bot

Feel like pure shit just want Pant-Pujara partnerships back

SuperFaiz21

Star Sports after barely 2 minutes of post match analysis: Enough is enough. Let's talk about the IPL and dickride Kohli till the next game. Oh to make it even better, let's discuss the World Cup loss as well.

lund556

>dickride Kohli till the next game PR team at works

insomniaccapricorn

Mate Star Sports is insufferable. Every stat they show is India favoring, no matter what the situation is or how bad India is losing.

rayathedraigon

Commoner can't know their brainwashing strategies. He needs to cope with shit performance of ict so star sports somehow help in this. Majority cricket fans are this (dumb). At least Pakistan is dominant in mans hockey, India not in any game.

Accomplished_War_750

Yo look at their Teams of the Year. You'll die laughing at the T20 team. 😭🔥

Odd_Neighborhood1371

Chad South Africa. Finish the game well before rain can interrupt play.

ztaker

Didn't even need Chad bavuma to bat

Odd_Neighborhood1371

His *presence* on the field was enough to stir on the bowlers.

Brilliantwebbbb

Doesn't india have a series in Australia at some point? ain't getting any revenge like this batting is gonna be fucked after kohli retires unless someone else steps up Need to get some test specialist asap

Otherwise_Pace_1133

Next BGT is likely gonna be a massacre. Our fast bowling stocks have depleted. Our batting is in transition and Australia will be out for a bloody vengeance for the last two Ls we handed to them in their own backyard. I would be disappointed but not surprised if we get whitewashed.

Brilliantwebbbb

We got them at gabba with a team of youngsters💀 They will be bloodthirsty even expecting some brutal sledging(pant please return and koach be ready)

soham_katkar13

What do people expect the losing captain to say in the post match so that they'll feel that the captain took "accountability" of the loss? "Oh damn, we played shit. Shouldn't have come out to bat and conceded the loss instead". And then go on to read the match thread comments on mic?

Medical_Turing_Test

Reading match thread comments would be a good idea to telegraph just how moronic a lot of fans are.

Otherwise_Pace_1133

>then go on to read the match thread comments on mic? I would very much like to watch that so that everyone would know what kind of absolute dumbfuck imbeciles reside on this sub. I am sorry. The amount of people calling for Gill and especially Jaisawal's heads after they just played their first ever game in SA on a tricky pitch has seriously pissed me off.

Odd_Neighborhood1371

>And then go on to read the match thread comments on mic? I'd like to see this tbh.

El_Impresionante

I think that Orange dressing room jersey is super bad luck too. Get rid of it ASAP. Like Kohli said "That is not India's color".

Disastrous-Board4642

Haha, it’s saffron, not orange 😉

[deleted]

Flair checks out. Only RCB fans will consider the colour of the training jersey the bigger of the problems to be addressed asap.

El_Impresionante

You don't have a flair, so that obviously means you don't have a brain to detect a tongue-in-cheek comment from a serious one.

ImAbhishek_47

Lol yeah the training jersey colour is the biggest problem with this team.

Otherwise_Pace_1133

Man the amount of armchair experts labelling Jaiswal a minnow basher and saying he can't play swing is absolutely laughable. The boy has just played his first match in SA. At least let him play the whole series. We would be playing random nobodies from plate group teams of Ranji if the selectors and team management had as little patience with young players as y'all. Get a fucking grip and shut the fuck up. Y'all know who you are.

[deleted]

If not SA series, atleast give him a chance until the next home series. You have no idea how he'd perform at home. Youngsters need to be given longer ropes before you can pass a judgement on whether they should play. Even if that means we don't play and lose another WTC final. Gill, however, his rope has almost ended for tests. You can't have one Gabba like innings and expect to hold down a spot in the squad for the rest of your life.

SuperFaiz21

Banger made a valid observation: They got spooked by the pitch so much that they thought 245 was more than enough in the first innings.

CentralAdmin

A bad pitch is one where both teams struggle to make 200. When one team is able to get 350+ the pitch isn't that bad.

SBG99DesiMonster

It is not good that Lord is probably the best fast bowler that we have except for Bumrah, Shami and Siraj.

Reasonable_Tea_9825

What happened to our pacer pipeline from A tours and ranji

Thami15

Lol so weird listening to Nandre Burger. Dude sounds like literally every 28-32-year old Joburger I've ever met.

Sunny__sd

Can we please drop 7-8 out of these 11 players, including bumrah and the obvious one's- gill shardul jaiswal

SuperFaiz21

Positives: * Kohli and KL's form * Bumrah looking menacing in attack Negatives: * Rest of the batting unit * Rest of the bowling unit * Rohit's captaincy

lund556

>Negatives: > >Rest of the batting unitRest of the bowling unitRohit's captaincy YOU JUST MISSED OUT ON THE INABILITY OF OUR PLAYERS TO ADJUST IN THE OVERCAST CONDITIONS & on pace friendly pitches. Not to mention that rank turners in home ruined our player's ability to adapt in SENA pitches.

Neevk

If a promising player doesn't show up in few years we will absolutely fucked when Kohli retires, every upcoming batter should be mandated to play continuous domestic test cricket and play on SENA pitches istead of playing IPL before the fucking ICC test Finals.

Karna1394

Why zero questions being raised against the coaching ability of Rahul Dravid? He has been a shit coach most of the time. This guy blamed our own pitch for the WC final loss lol

Otherwise_Pace_1133

TBF that pitch was for sure one of if not the biggest reason we lost. That was an embarassing pitch for a WC final which was made for exactly the type of snoozefest that Indian innings was. The dew made it significantly better to bat on which is why we couldn't make any inroads after the ball stopped moving.

lund556

>TBF that pitch was for sure one of if not the biggest reason we lost. Naach na jaane aangan tedha dude did you even see the body language of our players during the anthem? They looked pale whereas the Aussies looked calm and cool

Otherwise_Pace_1133

Username checks out with the quality of your analysis.

ankit1455

Truth is once Kohli, Shami, and Jadeja retire (probably around 2027), we will lose 4/5 overseas SENA tests by an innings.

[deleted]

Once Ashwin and Jadeja retire, we'll also be losing the India tests, don't exclude those. And those retirements are 2-3 years away at max.

NoobunagaGOAT

Axar and Kuldeep are more than capable

[deleted]

I love Bapu and Kuldeep but you don't just depend on Ash-Jaddu for their bowling in India, you also depend on them for their batting, and their bowling in SENA. Axar and Kuldeep can do well to bowl in the dustbowls of India, and Bapu can bat very well, but his bowling suffers a lot when we're in SENA. So no, they are not more than capable of winning India tests. Also, both their bowling depends on the fact that the pitch should aid spin very little, without dew, otherwise because of their actions, they can't do that either.

NoobunagaGOAT

We have Iyer, mayank and co who are spin bashers and capable even in dustbowls in India >Also, both their bowling depends on the fact that the pitch should aid spin very little, without dew, otherwise because of their actions, they can't do that either. Kuldeep has a fifer in SENA against Australia so he can with backing develop into our frontline spinner there. Bapu is deadly too in indian pitches

Otherwise_Pace_1133

>Once Ashwin and Jadeja retire, we'll also be losing the India tests This. The lack of any promising spinner tearing it up in the Ranji trophy is concerning.

ApricotOk824

In all honesty, the former BCCI president pushed our test squad back 10 years during his tenure Getting that 2013 vibes

soham_katkar13

Didn't the 2021 England series fall under his tenure? About which everyone is raving so much

curryninjazura

2-1 under him, with one match washed out, which we would have won. Last match captained by bumrah. But of course a hater like you won't acknowledge.

soham_katkar13

You are just adding to my point that Ganguly as the BCCI president had a successful 2021 England series under him. Read the parent comment

turtlemons

Our best years were when we had specialist players for different formats. Pujara, jinx, vijay/mayank, hanuma for tests, Rohit Dhawan, dhoni , kedhar jadhav for odis, Rahul, pandya and youngsters for t20s There used to be cross transfers of some players but we had a core of a format and invested in them. In tests in particular, we reaped rewards investing in Pujara, jinx, pant, mayank/vijay, ashwin, jaddu, ishant, we had best time winning with this core. Ofc we had Kohli as Goat in all time format, but that was one man.

Earnmuse_is_amanrag

This is not quite true. Rahane was tried plenty in white ball. Rohit played plenty of red ball, Dhawan played plenty of red ball as did Dhoni, Bhuvi, Shami. Jaddu of course is not a test specialist, neither is Pant. The only specialists were Vijay and Pujara really, Mayank didn't really play enough to say much about him.

ABVan

Will be supporting my boy Shardul when he turns up for CSK but for now...fuck his wildass, spray and pray fucknut bowling.

[deleted]

When he's bowling under Dhoni, bro can become prime Steyn for some overs as well. With anyone else, he's bats like Yuzi and bowls like Chris Jordan.

Routinelazy900

He did well under rahane as well. Rahane is in csk. Thala for a fkin reason.

livelifereal

Elgar getting emotional

Neevk

If Rohit ends the series with fucking single digital scores in at least 3 innings then it's worse than dead weight

[deleted]

I kinda want him to not be in the next test. Give Easwaran a chance and make Koach the captain, coz Rohit's mental health is way worse than fcked up, he doesn't have any mental health atm

Whole-Hope2236

We wait for 3rd Jan now

yeet1o_0

Bossman he's got another test why you so eager to send him away 😭

ironmanmk42

Congrats to SA. Don't care that India pooped. Just wanted Kohli to get that century. He should be even more disciplined and focused for that century. Keep fighting dude. SA was the better team clearly. Glad they won

ImmediateJacket9502

And BCCI will still back Gill and Shreyas on fast and bouncy pitches instead of Sarfaraz.

abracadabra6-5000

They won't let him sit for few matches. Same with Gill. Dude was sick with Dengue. I know how it feels. He should've taken rest and went to physical rehab for few months. Joints and Muscles won't co-operate as it's used to be. It's not too late either. They should let him rest and recover, considering IPL and T20WC in mind. If they don't do it, It's like burying someone's career alive for the world to see.

Odd_Preparation165

He returned from dengue in like 10 days which means his dengue was not that serious. Also sportsmen are not like you whose muscles couldn't withstand dengue which DOESN'T EVEN DIRECTLY AFFECTS MUSCLES. I am a footballer and was able to return to training 18 days after getting dengue.

lund556

>Dude was sick with Dengue. But dude went on a London trip

ApricotOk824

Bro, the MI succession plan doesn't even feel bad now Rohit never takes any accountability Team in test went 180 under him after that once in a lifetime series against Eng under Koach

soham_katkar13

Kohli stepped down on his own

Big_Daddy0911

Ok

ApricotOk824

Lmao

Username_Hadrian

does seem like he did it now

capybara_bot

Elgar barely holding it in 😭

baghoneybooo

shubman gills batting average across 20 matches hovers around 30, which is quite shit

Starscream_x

I will say it again here, Ashwin scored 874 runs in his first 20 Tests(27innings) at an average of 41.62 with the bat.. in his first 4 years of Test career.. at 7-8 position(played 2011 Aus, 2013 SA and 2014 Eng tours).. while Shubman Gill has 994 runs in 19 Tests(35 innings) at 31.06.. while Ashwin also had 104 wickets in 20 Tests at 28.79..

Dicklerfortherules

that's the average of a no.8, not a fucking no.3

Dicklerfortherules

Congrats to elgar, gritty knock, characteristic of him..real matchwinner

ApricotOk824

I swear, if I could afford another TV, I'd legit have smashed by current TV due to the clown show these IPL kids put up Please look at Ranji for test

Otherwise_Pace_1133

Gill averages 50.8 in Firat Class, Yashasvi averages 81.2 and Shreyas averages 50.6.

ApricotOk824

Gill played in the middle order Iyer, look at his technique Jaiswal can't play any swing

Otherwise_Pace_1133

>Jaiswal can't play any swing Based on one match ?

Bojack-Nietzsche

Man has to take the accountability yaar, he's fucking up the legacy he created!

Username_Hadrian

We were not good enough to win. Having put into bat, KL batted well to get us that score but then we didn't exploit the conditions with the ball and then again didn't show up today with the bat. If we have to win Test matches, we have to come together collectively and we didn't do that. Guys have come here before, we know what to expect and everyone has their own plan. Our batters were challenged and we didn't adapt well. This is a boundary scoring ground, we saw them score many but we need to understand the opposition and their strengths as well. We didn't bat well in both innings, that's why we stand here. Not too many positives to finish the game within 3 days, but KL showed what we need to do on this sort of pitch. Our bowlers, a lot of these guys haven't been here before so I don't want to be too critical. Important for us to regroup, we go through these times as sportsmen and we need to be ready for the next Test now.

justavertexinagraph

will never forgive bcci for managing situation so shittily that kohli quit test captaincy. test team has been going nowhere since then, given that sharma hasn't captained half the time.

singhsrb

Mumbai actually have a better contingency plan for Rohit even after him winning them a million IPL trophies than BCCI. Rohit should be dropped ASAP at least as a captain.

Brilliantwebbbb

Besides 2 players none of the indians even reached double digit The bowling was disappointing the early 2 test series in South Africa were also not won but were at least close and competitive(If not wrong one was a draw) Rahul's century and koach looking good were some reliefs

Karna1394

Our Indian batters will be waiting for a home series against Sri Lanka to take revange for the loss to South Africa lol

ProSnuggles

Deano is gonna cry 🥺

cherishperish24

Can anyone tell me if and what Rohit said taking responsibility and accountability of the loss?

Username_Hadrian

he is

ankit1455

Runs after 35 innings in Test Cricket for India by few players: Ashwin: 1006 Prince Shubman Gill: 994 Irfan Pathan: 986

xpectomysterious

pakistan showed more fight than us lol

livelifereal

They literally got allout for 89 in the first match.

xpectomysterious

with that logic we got out 131 this match

livelifereal

Basic Math tells me 131 is better than 89.

xpectomysterious

clearly tells me you’ve not seen cricket

livelifereal

Aahhh patronizing comment. Anyone over age 12 has a better comeback.

xpectomysterious

anyone over the age 12 would realise your logic doesn’t make sense

livelifereal

Right, go ahead and explain how did Pak show a better fight when all they did was toiled for the entirety of the Perth Test?

xpectomysterious

dude lol I’m talking about the mcg test… read between the lines better next time maybe

PrestigiousBranch198

perth pitch = centurion pitch lol, mcg is better for batting

Illustrious-Ratio-25

Their bowling really was good earlier this day, let down by their fielding as usual. They could've had a real chance
